They do run out of bbq some days, so order early if possible. Siu Yuk - $15.99 per pound - Crispier then any Sam Woo roasted pork I have had lately. Not overly salty. COVID did make it more expensive then other BBQ spots though. Whole Duck - $22.99 - Good portion, flavor was perfect. Same price situation as above. I give it one star for the quality and tenderness of the roast pork. However, it stops there. If you get caught in a line with 4-5 people, the guy behind the counter will give you the top or the end of the pork if you are not a recognizable "friend" or customer. I have experienced this twice. The first time, I called him out, and he reluctantly switched it for the preferred piece (middle section). The next time, A slab of apprx 8 lb, just got brought out, and I was 2nd in line. A young college couple in front of me ordered 2lbs (apprx 3" in length), and got the bottom edge of the slab, which really is not a choice, fair enough. Then I was next, I tested out my hunch, and order just 1 lb (which is apprx 1" length) , Lo-and Behold, he turned the slab upside down, and undid the whole thing, and chopped the top edge and sold it to me. Perhaps you can ask what could he have done differently? If he turned it sideways ( like every other restaurant), then every customer will have equally end up with only 1 piece of edge per inch, as supposed to a whole row of fat from the edge. I phoned the order in for pickup, and the lady who took my order over the phone was very sweet. I ordered steamed white rice, the roast pork, beef chow fun noodles, and orange chicken. They have lunch specials. The plates and quantity are pretty small compare to other Chinese restaurants in that area and food is ok, but not memorable. Customer service was so lousy for the first half of our meal. Rushing us to order and when we ask them for their recommendations they seemed impatient and rude. The roast pork is some of the best I've ever had. Skin was crispy and meat was moist and good flavor. Wish I bought more than 1.4 pounds I got. Ha. Eggplant was cooked just right. Not too long and not too short. Soft but not too soft. Also got it less spicy(you can ask for less spicy if you can't handle too much spice ) , the crispy noodles were also better than most places. Perfectly fried and crisp and overly fried. The dry sautéed string beans are a bit spicy so you can ask for that not to be spicy either depending on your taste. I am definitely coming back here to Ruby's bbq. The food was great and prices are good and they give great portion sizes. For weeks my cousin has been telling me about the CRISPY PORK they serve here. This time he took me there and ordered a half pound of it along with some ROAST DUCK and some veggies. The duck was pretty good, flavorful with its fatty goodness along with the duck sauce that makes for its savoriness. The CRISPY PORK on the other hand was INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS with the crackling crispy skin that is packed with flavor and the meat so tender that it seemed to melt on my tongue. This place has been closed for the past 2 weeks for vacation. Today was their first day back and just happened to be in the area, so stopped by to bring some roasted pork home for dinner. I also wanted to try the Deep friend Squid with spicy salt, but they were out of squid, so settled on some fried fish. I thought the fried fish would be fried filets but instead, it was a fried whole fish, think it was a Sand Dab. I snapped pics of the food before driving home to feast. When I got home, I immediately made a small plate to sample the goods, and I have to say, the roast pork belly did not disappoint. The crispy roast pork (siu yuk) here is AMAZING, especially if eaten fresh. They make small batches throughout the day so you may have to wait (waited 10 mins once and was told 30 mins another time). ~2.5 lbs of pork will be about half of the rack, so it goes fast! 2ish lbs will fill the large styrofoam box. When the pork is bought fresh, the meat is super juicy, the fat melts in your mouth, and the skin is super crispy - to die for imho. The pork is also flavored well with spices, a hint of sweetness and the perfect amount of salt such that you can easily snack on it and not eat rice. They give you hoison sauce to dip and I like dipping but the pork is flavored perfectly so you don't need extra sauce if you don't care for the extra sweetness. Also have ordered half a roast duck before and it's also very well seasoned and not too salty or fatty. Duck seems available throughout the day. Siu yuk reheating tip: remove the crispy skin and reheat uncovered, separately from the roast pork to get perfectly crisp skin day after. The roast pork should be covered in foil so the meat doesn't dry out. Reheat at 400 deg F, ~5 mins for skin on middle rack and 10-15 mins for the pork on the bottom rack. read more

The service here is HORRIBLE! My dad ordered roast pork ahead of time for Chinese New Year but on the day of pick up, the rude lady made him stand in line with the rest of the people. Told him that's the line for people with preorders, which is also the same line for people who did NOT preorder! He stood in line for 1.5 HOURS! As he was in line, he sees at least 5 other parties walk right up to the lady for their preorders but yet, she didn't make them stand in line!
