I rated it as four stars, based on the following highlights (no particular order): + Ample outdoor parking that's CHEAP + Parking pay station collocated with ride ticket vending machine + Rides are cheap...no comparison needed + Train cleanliness appears to be of importance + Timely departure and arrival + Airport service via transfer at Union station - NO restrooms at this particular station, or I missed them Overall great way to travel locally and especially to a Broncos game, like I am tonight.

Safely…read moreride from downtown or from Golden CO to downtown this is convenient and a must try at least once... but I bet you will get hooked! Save time, save money and ride the train from the airport to Golden CO! It's easy, it's cheap and if you are 65 there is even a discount. Park at the Jeffco line because it's free and a safe place to leave your ride and not have a hassle fighting for a space downtown. The government building is right next door to the West line so no worries about your car. The train is clean and you don't have to stress the traffic.

He's energetic and peppy in the morning, which makes for a very enjoyable ride to school. The Golden Call-N-Ride is an extention of RTD public transit services. They have a scheduled route, a flex route (runs at certain time intervals), and a call-in service. You must call and reserve a pick-up at least 2 hours in advance. While I have not used the call-in service, I have called to ask them to stop on a flex route stop outside of their flex route hours. The "Golden green bus" is incredibly convenient as it stops at the Colorado School of Mines and the JeffCo Light Rail Station. As a CSM student, I get a discounted bus pass every year which makes for easy commuting. I am very excited that RTD expanded their service out to Golden. I'd like to see light rail service to the airport next (crossing my fingers that it was connect with the W-line with only one transfer!).

In recent weeks, there have been a number of problems, including a 55 minute wait to be picked up one afternoon, a bus that never showed on another afternoon, drivers who have not been trained (to the extent that they don't know the routes or, at times, even how to use their onboard computer/GPS system), and a missed connection at light rail on one morning. As I say, all of these incidents have taken place within recent weeks, and I never had trouble with the previous contractor. I do not fault the drivers. With one exception, the new drivers have all been pleasant, and I don't mind providing directions as needed. I am absolutely dependent on the service and I really need it to work as it used to work. A complaint has also been submitted to RTD directly: 300-299-6000.

However the busses aren't always clean. Sticky floors and floors littered with trash or dropped food. Some people will talk loudly on speaker or their music without headphones. Nothing is enforced. I suggest paying online. There is a restroom. It's very small, yet clean. However bring lysol wipes and hand sanitizer.

The only shortcoming is how rarely the train comes, especially for such a short trip. Half-hour intervals in rush hour and hour intervals otherwise could leave you waiting a long time.

Westminster Station, Sept, 2026. We husband and I decided to take public transit (train) from our…read moreaccommodations in Westminster to downtown Denver to avoid city parking and traffic. It wasn't as seamless as expected. Problem one. Westminster Station has a lot of garage parking -- IF you're driving a vehicle of normal height. We, however, were in a Class B RV (which is of normal length but is tall at 9+ feet. We couldn't fit in the garage, and the on-site parking lots ALL had a 3-hour maximum stay limit. (Most of these spaces were empty, but we couldn't use them because we would need more than three hours to get to the city, walk around, and then come back. We ended up parking on a city street. Problem two. The station did not have any human staff -- to answer questions or to ensure security. Problem three. The trains to Denver were on an hourly schedule. We missed one as we were looking for parking. Similarly, we had a long wait for our return trip because we hadn't checked the schedule ahead of time. That said, the train was still convenient and reasonably priced, with drop-off near Union Station. Tickets were easy to purchase. We each purchased a one-day pass for $5.50. (Staff checked in both directions that we had indeed purchased tickets).

Strange little route throughout Broomfield. Instead of going down the busiest street (128th Ave.),…read moreit goes through a random neighborhood. It starts out on Midway (going east), but then decides to snake through a neighborhood. The drivers are always friendly. One driver pulled the bus over for this group of people (not at a stop) because someone thought they might have left something with their kin who got off the bus. A bit inconvenient to me as I had to wait while someone shouted "Tameka! Tameka!" down the street. Tameka turned around and shouted back to the people on the bus. I'm sure the residents of Broomtown (yes, I know it's Broomfield) were looking out their windows, locking their doors, as they might have thought something was going down. Silly suburbs. From Wagon Road Park-N-Ride (120th and Huron) to Broomfield Park-N-Ride (119th and Wadsworth) and back again. Infrequent runs, no weekend routes, no frills. It gets the job done. Sort of, if you ever find yourself without a car in Broomfield.

It seems like they could make a lot better…read moreuse of the travel area and stops, instead of it just going through random neighborhoods to get to the Broomfield Park & Ride, where taking Route 120 is a straight shot directly down 120th to get there in much better time. It would be awesome to have it actually go down 128th, as the name implies, and more particularly if you live right off of it. There appear to be a couple of unused stops in the area that would do everyone in the 128th - 136th Street crowd a huge favor if they were utilized by this route.

Nothing wrong at all with this little park--n-ride/light rail station on Oak Street, though the…read morewalking canoe "art" is perhaps a bit questionable. There's a tremendously capacious parking lot, clean platforms, easy access to the regional bus lines, and it's easy to get to either via car or on foot of mass transit is more how you get around. The accessway to the eastbound platform is on the west side, which I suppose might make sense to someone who builds train stations instead of uses them. It's also on the far side from Oak Street, so of course you'll have to hoof it post-haste around the horn if you're tardy. Great way to get downtown for Broncos or Rockies games, since the line runs straight to Union Station and from there you can grab a bus or just walk some more if you're into that sort of thing.

The problem is, because of RTD's asinine pricing scale for regional tickets, the Lakewood-Wadsworth station charges for parking if you don't live within certain boundaries created by RTD and the DMV. A fact that is not disclosed anywhere clearly and that I was unaware of until I received a notice. Public transit is supposed to be an equalizer, a method of transportation for everyone of every class, but RTD continues to impose barriers that make it challenging to even afford to get to work.

I like coming to this station because it's one zone closer to union station which equals a $3.50…read moresavings roundtrip. It's the furthest you can get from Union Station and stay within 2 zones, if you want a parking lot because the Garrison station has no parking. I've never had a problem finding parking here and it only takes about 25 minutes to get to Union Station. This is definitely my pick-up station of choice on the W line.
