There are plenty of places to eat and have a drink in and around Union Station (breakfast spot, coffee spot, at least 2 bars I'm aware of, etc). It really is a nice place to both begin and end trips. It is hard to explain but I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it. It is also a nice place to get some work done. There are plenty of places to sit and plug in. Keep in mind that the bathrooms downstairs are open to the public so you may see some interesting things and individuals there.

I love the fancy pistachio pastry dessert at Baumé and the Christmas tree decor this past year was AMAZE. I feel like it represents a standard that people will experience throughout Denver in their travels like if they just arrived there via Union Station or are relatively new. Riding The rails is not scenic. You'll pass through some of the poorest parts of the city, ugly industrial area, homeless camps, and lots of trash. I recommend packing light--one bag only. Don't hesitate to ask someone if you need help navigating the rail system. I found both passengers and staff helpful. More people riding mass transit will help Mother Earth and your bank balance.

I have no idea how much the parking costs because I found a free street parking space both times I was here. There are automated ticket vending machines on the platform and you will absolutely want to buy a ticket. All four times I rode the train, there was a conductor checking for fares. The train is clean and comfortable enough. It's only a 12 minute run from Westminster to Union station so I suppose it wouldn't be too bad if it was crowded during the rush hour runs. Three stars because the train only runs every hour. That's a big gap between trains!

Not drinking and driving etc. only pain is the last train to Westminster/Arvada is around 10:20. For people wanting to stay out later it's nice to drive. Still the train took about eleven minutes into Union Station and around fourteen to get back to Westminster. Would ride again.

There's a tremendously capacious parking lot, clean platforms, easy access to the regional bus lines, and it's easy to get to either via car or on foot of mass transit is more how you get around. The accessway to the eastbound platform is on the west side, which I suppose might make sense to someone who builds train stations instead of uses them. It's also on the far side from Oak Street, so of course you'll have to hoof it post-haste around the horn if you're tardy. Great way to get downtown for Broncos or Rockies games, since the line runs straight to Union Station and from there you can grab a bus or just walk some more if you're into that sort of thing.

The problem is, because of RTD's asinine pricing scale for regional tickets, the Lakewood-Wadsworth station charges for parking if you don't live within certain boundaries created by RTD and the DMV. A fact that is not disclosed anywhere clearly and that I was unaware of until I received a notice. Public transit is supposed to be an equalizer, a method of transportation for everyone of every class, but RTD continues to impose barriers that make it challenging to even afford to get to work.

It's the furthest you can get from Union Station and stay within 2 zones, if you want a parking lot because the Garrison station has no parking. I work on the Mall, and I can say I've had fewer people approach me for money or want to engage me in unhinged conversation around this area than other spots along 16th. Pretty heavy flow of trains until 11pm at night.

Serviced by the D, H, F and L lines, this stop/station is located conveniently next to a Walgreens…read moreright on the 16th Street Mall. It's well-lit and sees plenty of regular foot traffic, but hopping a train to Auraria Campus or Englewood Station right from the convenience of Denver's most popular pedestrian mall can't be overstated. The Walgreens is probably pretty convenient, too, if you fancy making sure your flu shot is current before exposing yourself to public transportation and all its associated pathogens.

This station serves the Empower Field stadium where the Denver Broncos play and also host other events and outdoor concerts. Again, if you read my review for stop one, this station also serves the same benefit of avoiding downtown traffic and parking. Although after a Broncos game, the train can become very full, but theres usually another train coming in 15 min intervals.

That means riders are crossing each other to get to the front of one train or the back of another. More focus on ensureing there's no fair evasion vs organized boarding or safety. RTD Security saw a fight, let the fighters go, and laughed afterwards. That's not security - that's allowing dangerous behavior and crime!
