    I used the RTD's University of Colorado A Line while on vacation in Denver. It was located just outside of the hotel and offered a convenient self pay system. I bought my ticket just as the train pulled into the station. The train was very clean and had a security officer present. The security officer checked for valid tickets and answered travel questions. I felt very safe and loved the overall convenience. I will definitely use the train during future visits to the area.

    I am from out of town, so my only experience with RTD (Denver's metro-area public transportation system) is when I took the SkyRide from downtown to the airport (Route AF, Eastbound). My experience was fine. The driver was courteous, the seats were clean and comfortable, and the journey was a little less than an hour, which is slightly longer than what it would normally take a shared shuttle ride (e.g., SuperShuttle). On the other hand, I wasn't stuffed into an 8-passenger van with seven other fully grown adults at more than twice the cost, so I was happy to trade the 15 minutes I may have lost for the 60% discount and relative comfort of a half-full tour bus. If you are considering this option to the airport yourself, particularly from the downtown location, just a couple of notes to keep in mind: 1) The website schedule and pickup location were slightly outdated when I viewed them (on May 9, 2015). I've posted photos showing the current schedule and pickup point, but FYI, the current departure times seem to be 1-2 minutes earlier than those listed in the schedule posted online (e.g., my bus left at 12:26pm rather than 12:27pm). It's only a minor difference of course, but the bus left promptly at 12:26, so that one minute could theoretically make a difference to someone. 2) I boarded the bus at its point of origin, which is the Greyhound Bus station at the corner of 19th St. and Curtis St. You have to actually enter the station to find the pickup location (i.e., It's not outside on a street corner like other RTD buses). And FYI, the website currently says the departure point is Gate 4, but it is actually Gate 5, which is on the opposite side. There is a sign posted above the door of Gate 5 that says RTD SkyRide DIA (Denver International Airport) as a point of reference. Just proceed outside through the door to find the bus. Note that if you arrive early, the bus will only open its doors about five minutes before departure. 3) Being an urban bus station, unsurprisingly there were a variety of interesting characters in and around the station. I never felt concerned for my safety or anything, but I am also a sturdy 6'0" male, so females may be a bit more uncomfortable, especially if traveling alone. That being said, I walked from my hotel at 18th and California to the bus station and it was fine, both along the way and while waiting for the bus to depart. It was also the middle of the day, so maybe that makes a difference, but I wouldn't let the surroundings necessarily discourage you from riding, especially if you're headed to the airport during the day. 4) Somewhat inconveniently, the bus takes only cash, you pay on the bus at the time you board, and you cannot get change in return, so bring the exact fare, which is currently $11 (you insert your money into a machine like any other city bus, and it takes both coins and bills). Pleasantly, however, you are able to get a handwritten receipt from the bus driver if you need it for expense reimbursement like I do. Overall, a good experience, and one I would recommend to travelers, especially if you are traveling during the day and looking to save some cash on your trip to/from the airport (it also takes people from DIA into town, but I took SuperShuttle from the airport, so I can't speak to the Westbound trip, although I suspect it would be very similar).

    Peak 1 Express: I'd use again!…read more I was under the impression the ride was 2-ish hours from the airport to Breckenridge, and I was wrong (which may have been my misunderstanding). The ride is supposed to be *around* 3 hours. We stopped for some folks to transfer, a bathroom stop, then to Silverthorne, then to Breckenridge (which there were 4 different stops for the riders). The ride from the airport to our destination felt much, much longer than my return shuttle. I wish there was a better way to drop folks off on all the small towns on the way (especially when the rentals and cabins are far off the main roads). My first shuttle was half full and it was fairly comfortable for breathing room in between us. I could imagine it being a lot less comfortable if it were a full shuttle (and being on a full shuttle after, I realize how lucky I am to be on a half full shuttle to start). It was on time to pick us up, but we didn't get to leave until closer to 25 mins later due to someone's flight being delayed (also not their fault, drivers arrange with a walkie-talkie system on them fly to talk to the main office to get it sorted). We unfortunately got stuck in about an hour of traffic (to no fault of anyone) and it was high spirits and good tunes. Our driver (Mike?) was so great! He was wonderful to talk to and had lots of stories! My return shuttle was larger and completely full. A little confusing on where to stand in the skier drop lot for Breckenridge, but the driver called me and I was just out of site for him. Drive was great and no traffic this time! My tip is to leave plenty of time from the airport and shuttle, manage your expectations. I could also see a different experience with different drivers/bad weather. From my experience, they do everything in their power to get you where you need to go! I'd use them again.

    Unacceptable level of lack of communication on the morning of our shuttle. We waited outside in the…read morecold for over an hour and kept having to call dispatch for updates. When the driver finally arrived we saw we were only the second passenger and the first pick up was also picked up an hour late. This was a 6am shuttle. The only possible reason is that the driver decided to start his drive an hour late and didn't communicate this to the passengers at all. There was no apology or acknowledgment of delay. On top of all of that the heat in the van must have been broken or off because we were shivering in full winter gear for the entire 2 hour drive.
