It was ultra convenient to deplane, jump on the light rail at the airport and take the 37-minute ride ($10 one-way) to Union Station. Just a 10-minute walk later I'm at my hotel! Perfect! Honestly, I haven't been to any of business' inside the Station so I can't comment to that. I was just here to make my way to and from the airport. I've always appreciated the architecture of the building as well. I had to catch an early flight out of Denver, so I had to get there very early and managed to get some great picture of Union Station lit up! Very freaking cool! :) Probably one of the nicer train stations I've been to in all my travels! lol 5 stars.

My assumption for the light rail was I would tap my phone once I was inside the train, however, you need to tap at a kiosk outside the platform. I did not mean to ride for free, but I did. Riding The rails is not scenic. You'll pass through some of the poorest parts of the city, ugly industrial area, homeless camps, and lots of trash. I recommend packing light--one bag only. Don't hesitate to ask someone if you need help navigating the rail system. I found both passengers and staff helpful. More people riding mass transit will help Mother Earth and your bank balance.

If you're headed downtown for some fun, I recommend checking if RTD is available near you. From concerts and sporting events at Denver's top venues to bar hopping or skating downtown, RTD Union Station is a great and reliable way to get to and from your event. Did someone say free DD for the night? RTD has you covered. I found it to be safe and well taken care of, though I recommend the buddy system when possible. RTD Union Station is ALSO the perfect way to get to and from the Denver International Airport affordably. It makes solid time as well, considering how far Denver International Airport is from the city.

After navigating the labyrinth that is exiting the airport made it to the train. Trains were parked and waiting so hopped on. It was cool-ish in there. Pretty empty. Had places to put your luggage. Seats were large and comfortable ish. They had a cling on the windows that made it hard to see out and hard to tell if it was the cling or just dirt on the window. Got to union station, got off the train and promptly tripped on a curb, sending my luggage tumbling and my back pack flying. There was a tiny lip of a curb that extends from where there were steps. Scraped several layers off my knees that over month later is still not fully healed. Had several kind people stop and offer to help me up. It wasn't that I could not get up but that my knees stung so bad I couldn't stand just yet. Security came over to ask how I was and admitted what happened to me happens to others. Thought then maybe they should paint it, or put something around it or a warning but I guess not. Wandered around downtown and came back here to catch the train back to the airport. Also weird on the train they had people asking to see your ticket. I explained I had done the tap to pay and had my credit card out (assuming he had a hand held device that he could tap to verify I had paid) but they did not. They walked through at least 3x in the ride from the airport to downtown and asked each time. Don't plan on trying to ride the train again here.

Westminster Station, Sept, 2026. We husband and I decided to take public transit (train) from our…read moreaccommodations in Westminster to downtown Denver to avoid city parking and traffic. It wasn't as seamless as expected. Problem one. Westminster Station has a lot of garage parking -- IF you're driving a vehicle of normal height. We, however, were in a Class B RV (which is of normal length but is tall at 9+ feet. We couldn't fit in the garage, and the on-site parking lots ALL had a 3-hour maximum stay limit. (Most of these spaces were empty, but we couldn't use them because we would need more than three hours to get to the city, walk around, and then come back. We ended up parking on a city street. Problem two. The station did not have any human staff -- to answer questions or to ensure security. Problem three. The trains to Denver were on an hourly schedule. We missed one as we were looking for parking. Similarly, we had a long wait for our return trip because we hadn't checked the schedule ahead of time. That said, the train was still convenient and reasonably priced, with drop-off near Union Station. Tickets were easy to purchase. We each purchased a one-day pass for $5.50. (Staff checked in both directions that we had indeed purchased tickets).

Parking: 330 Spaces Travel Time to Union Station: 13 Minutes More stops along the G line. This is the closest station to my home. Westminster (B line) is close too. Not as many amenities as some of the larger stations but plenty of parking so who cares?! Bike parking and lockup is available as well as spots specifically for motorcycle. Drop off spots are clearly marked, wide spaces, and easy to read signage to going westbound or eastbound on the train.

Some shelter if being rained on, but not a ton. No nearby benches. Depending what time of day you are here you will be milling amidst a swarm of arriving/departing productive workers, leaving with the night shift crew, or possibly trying to evade shady homeless-type folk. I work on the Mall, and I can say I've had fewer people approach me for money or want to engage me in unhinged conversation around this area than other spots along 16th. Pretty heavy flow of trains until 11pm at night.

Serviced by the D, H, F and L lines, this stop/station is located conveniently next to a Walgreens…read moreright on the 16th Street Mall. It's well-lit and sees plenty of regular foot traffic, but hopping a train to Auraria Campus or Englewood Station right from the convenience of Denver's most popular pedestrian mall can't be overstated. The Walgreens is probably pretty convenient, too, if you fancy making sure your flu shot is current before exposing yourself to public transportation and all its associated pathogens.

This station serves the Empower Field stadium where the Denver Broncos play and also host other events and outdoor concerts. Again, if you read my review for stop one, this station also serves the same benefit of avoiding downtown traffic and parking. Although after a Broncos game, the train can become very full, but theres usually another train coming in 15 min intervals.

Good enough trip to arrive but leaving is not well organized. Sure there are lines for the C, E,…read moreand W lines but all trains pull up to the same spot. That means riders are crossing each other to get to the front of one train or the back of another. More focus on ensureing there's no fair evasion vs organized boarding or safety. RTD Security saw a fight, let the fighters go, and laughed afterwards. That's not security - that's allowing dangerous behavior and crime!
