I got tom yum seafood soup and omg it was sooo good. I am a sucker for tom yum. The service here is always great. The staff are super friendly and kind. They are also very helpful. I was on my way to Avante Nursing Rehab center down the street and as the friend I was to visit is a Vegan, and the rehab center had little idea how to prepare Vegan food, I stopped in. A carrot and lettuce aren't enough nutrition and isn't a meal. I also bought two meals to go for us. The food was unbelievably good. The best I have had in years. I discovered Royal Thai last year and wish I found it sooner. First of all they have a very large gluten free menu that is all very delicious, second their prices are very reasonable. We always order at least 3 dishes to split. Today I got my order to go and everything was delicious. Both servers and the people who take the orders over the phone are very knowledgeable about celiac's and gluten free options. I honestly ordered Togo from Royal Thai more often than I didn't in but the restaurant is always clean and the food always comes out fast. SUPPORT LOCAL RESTAURANTS: I wasn't going to post at first because I didn't get any pictures before eating any of the food but Royal Thai deserves more love for it's 2025 reviews. This is one of many Orlando restaurants that have been around for decades and it's over looked by so many (including myself). We ordered the springs rolls, chicken wings, and papaya salad for apps. Followed by Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Curry chicken, and Thai fried rice! I have only ever had take out, and they pack it so it stays warm till it gets home I have had several dishes so far and have not been disappointed. I remember going to Royal Thai as a teenager, and now, fast forward to my mid-40s, this place is still a hit! I can't recall exactly what I ordered back then, but I do remember the amazing variety of sauces they offered--and they still do! My wife and I shared crispy spring rolls ($4.95), Thai steak salad ($13.95), and Pad Gaprow ($13.95) with Jasmine rice, paired with refreshing Thai tea. Every dish was exceptional! I even requested the sauces for nostalgia, and they were happy to provide them for free. The service was pretty good. Royal Thai has been around since 1997, and now I know why. I've driven by this place literally FOR YEARS and have seen the banner outside that says that Scot Joseph reviewed it and said it was "fit for a king." But this year I FINALLY got to go see it and experience it myself with some friends of mine! I ordered the glass noodles with chicken and my friends got pad Thai and other dishes. It was absolutely phenomenal. It's one of those meals that you want to last much longer. Orlando has some really good Thai restaurants already but I can't really think of a Thai restaurant that's better than this. It was straight up comfort food, very prompt and great service. If anything I would say that Orchid Thai and Thai place are very close, if not on par. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a phenomenal Thai restaurant in Orlando that's literally been around for decades. After a long day, I stumbled upon this Thai place that was close by. The service here was phenomenal. Our server had a great list of recommendations and was very accommodating. Any of the dishes on the menu can be altered to your preferred spice tolerance. I wasn't feeling bold that day, so I went for a medium. I ordered the Woosen noodles (which come with rice), and my friend ordered the Drunken Noodles. The server and host recommended it but I wanted to experiment. My dish was bland, and the rice did not pair well. My friend's dish though was great. The Drunken noodles were very flavorful. The salad paired well with it. The protein portions are rather small in comparison too. The noodles were all stuck together and again, barely any flavor. The medium did have a nice spice though. The Pad Thai was good but we still like Siam Garden on 50 better. I'm sure it's a preference based on taste. It's like judging the best Lasagna. They're all so different. The Pad Gra Pow was decent too, but you have to dip into the spices to add extra flavor. The rice portion was good, but again, they're light on the meat. The staff is friendly but when you're in that tiny hallway (where we were seated both times), I think they forget about you. Water refills are a challenge. Came here on a recommendation from a friend. We came in pretty late, although not the last ones in the door, and were greeted so warmly. Our server was excellent too and even greeted the table behind us (obviously frequent diners) by name. Our food was cooked well although my rice was a bit bland my friend's noodle dish burst with flavor. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes. My reason for the 4/5, besides my rice, is based on the extremely intense odor in the front porch area that we were seated. It was so strong and chemically that it made me and my friend think about getting takeout instead. It was somewhere between rubbing alcohol, air fresher, and bleach. It didn't go away or lesson during our meal, but I'll be sure to update this review of it was a singular accuance and isn't there next time we visit. read more

This is my go to Thai spot in East Orlando. The food is delicious, and priced great for the portion size. The toong thong is a great appetizer to start with, it has great flavor and easily my favorite. For the main dishes, we ordered the panag curry w/ chicken and the red curry w/ chicken. Both are delicious and are what I often order when coming here. The service is always quick and the servers are friendly and attentive. Apparently, I've been under a rock. I had never tried this Orlando Staple. The place is big but unfortunately assuming. Inside and outside. Don't let the building determine you from going because WOW. I had the ginger duck and it was incredible. It came out in a plate sizzling and my mind was blown upon first bite. I used to go to this wonderful place when I was in Orlando often, but now since I'm not I try to pop in when I'm in town. It's a must stop. I went here recently with my partner for lunch and no matter how much time has passed the food is always so consistent, flavorful, fresh, fast and most importantly delicious. We are always greeted upon arrival by anyone standing at the front counter and immediately seated without a wait normally. This time around we were greeted and sat by Freddy who was very pleasant and helpful with my questions. The ambiance is always so relaxing and quiet. We sat by the window with the natural lighting and although there were patrons around no one felt crowded or over spoken in conversation. Everything was just right. The highlight I must mention about this visit was the sticky rice. I have seen videos where I want to try to rice so bad. I originally wanted the mango sticky rice but it was not in season. They have to wait until the mangoes are in season and available so I will be waiting to try again. In the meantime I opted for the black coconut sticky rice and they did not disappoint. It was warm, with the delicate sweetness of coconut from the coconut milk it was in as well as the coconut topping it had on top. I've been hopping around from Thai place to Thai place in Orlando on the search for great red curry and Tom Kha Gai soup. I got a big takeout order (multiples of each below) from Royal Thai to last me the weekend dog-sitting nearby. Very glad I did it! The Goods! What I ordered: 1) Red Curry with Shrimp- This was very yummy. Very flavorful with generous-sized shrimp. The soothing taste of lemongrass was in each bite... so good. I'd definitely order this again. 2) Chicken Wings- THOSE CHICKEN WINGS, THO. Oye vey. I dream of these chicken wings at night. They were absolutely delicious. Loved them. Would order them again, and get TWO orders so I don't have to share! 3) Cucumber Salad- enjoyed this. More vinegary than most of the cucumber salads I've had... but I'm a vinegar fan. If you like your cucumber salad less vinegary and more sweet, this may not be for you. 4) Tom Kha Gai- I've been to a few places recently where the Tom Kia Gai tastes nearly identical to the red curry... that wasn't the case here. My mom was a fan of the soup... I thought it was a little too watery and not flavorful enough for me. I probably wouldn't order this here again, which is a shame because I loveee this soup usually. I'd like to give them brownie points for being generous with rice... Lately, I've had to order extra rice with every meal because places are being chintzy with the rice, even when I order a ton of entrees... I came here years ago with friends and family and I have to say they are still one of the best authentic Thai places I've been to. The staff very friendly and the waitress very attentive. The food was pretty good and the service was quick. We went tonight and it was pretty busy, so the server did not check on us often. The food was really good. I got green curry and my husband got the drunken noodles. My kids got pad Thai and didn't like it, so we had to send it back for yellow curry,which they loved. The only thing that took me by surprise was the added gratuity for a table of 4. No where does it say they will add gratuity of 18% automatically so just be prepared. 5 Stars for my favorite Thai restaurant in Orlando. In restaurant, delivery, take-out. It doesn't matter-- Royal Thai is AMAZING! This is something I've known for years so I can't believe I haven't left a review yet. I've flirted with a bunch of other Thai places, but RT has consistently been the highest quality and best flavors around. Their curries have a depth of flavor that gets me every time. They're tasty, but beyond that, the flavors keep coming as you take bite after bite. Though mild still has a bit of a kick, it's worth it. Besides their curries, I love their cashew nut dish- with full cashews and your choice of protein (I like it with chicken). Finally, because I'm not ashamed to be "that guy," the Pad Thai is insanely good. Some pad thais are overly sweet, but this one has the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and starchiness from the noodles. Besides the great dishes (that travel very well when ordering takeout or delivery), the interior is really beautiful. It has multiple sitting areas and my favorite is around the perimeter of the building (inside). Lastly, the service is always exceptional. Any question I've ever had has been answered with kindness. Well the food I ordered was not as good as it was and my hubby liked the Thai Basil fried rice with shrimp. I was not impressed. It was a slow day and they were mostly busy with to go orders. The atmosphere has changed and the last image I posted definitely did not help. So it was a nice try for a quick bite and that's it. This review is based on a take out order. First off I have to give huge kudos to their packaging of a take out order. Everything was hot and packaged in a way if we had it fresh in the restaurant. Fried stuff was crispy, cold stuff was cold, and utensils and napkins were all included! Silly but a lot of places don't get this right. We ordered several dim sum style dishes. One of which stole the show. The little crunchy bags are filled with potatoes and spices. These little things earned this joint the three stars. If they focused only on this dish They would have had five stars! If you order anything from here this dish is a MUST. Why the knock on the stars? Everything else was just okay. It wasn't amazing and it was absolutely disgusting. It was edible. The real disappointment was the pad Thai. Come on as a Thai place in America there a few dishes that have to be out of the ball park and Americans love Pad Thai! Unfortunately it was bland and flavorless with dry chicken.
