Fried Grouper Fish Tacos
Ande W.

First time here while on a family trip to Destin. While the weather was windy and partly cloudy our hostess sat us by the windows facing the beach which was still nice so we could enjoy some of the views. We were the first ones in when they opened and after a few minutes we were greeted by our server. We ordered the royal palm oysters and friend green tomatoes with shrimp. The appetizers were good (we really enjoyed the oysters). The green tomatoes were fried well and flavorful but my only knock would be maybe be to drizzle the plate with the beurre blank vs coating the tomatoes as it lost some of its crunch. Our entrees were well prepared and the perfect serving size. If in the area we will definitely be back and would recommend for a great lunch near the beach.

The Royal Palm Grille is located on the ground floor of Surfside Condominium Building, right on the Scenic Gulf Drive. We ate there on New Year's Eve. A great meal. Lots of fresh seafood. I love their spicy seafood gumbo! Service was so friendly! Our server was great! Bravo!

I have eaten at the Royal Palm Grill many times I really enjoy it but it's really like getting a couple deals in one if you go there. First, they have a very nice bar as soon as you walk in kind of reminds me of an old fashion, kind of bar with tables and stuff and you can eat at the bar. They've got a great menu. This time we went to the bar and ordered some sushi. My wife she doesn't care for raw fish. We had a crunchy shrimp roll. And it was very very good and then if you want, you can leave there and go to the main dining room overlook the ocean. It's really beautiful at night very nice during the day. The entire wall is glass and you can see the beach very easily without the wind and the sand, if you miss that you can go outside because they have a wonderful deck over there looking at the ocean. If that's not enough, there is a walk over 98 that goes to the beach bar and the beach bar is three decks of an outdoor bar right on the sand out on the beach so it's really nice. You can actually go and spend the entire day down there, I hope you get a chance to try the Royal Palm, I know I enjoy it. I hope you will too.

yummmm we where staying at seaside so this was an obvious choice. i went for the crab roll. we also got the big tom roll. My freakatarian friend ordered the roasted potatoes and the veggie or the day(green bean). we went on easter sunday and service was still prompt and reliable. we are on the deck and had great views and enjoyed the beachy ambiance. 10/10, will make sure to revisit next trip.

As of the writing of this review this restraint is billing at 3.5 stars and I think that is 100% where it should be. Wishing this site would allow me to rate 3.5 but as it only allows whole numbers I will have to air on the side of 3. The food here is good and it's not super busy with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. While other places nearby had a 2 hour wait time we were able to be seated almost immediately. The service is fast and friendly and the food is well cooked, flavorful and good. The main issue with this place is pricing. I don't mind paying up for an exceptional, 4-5 star experience but this place isn't that. This place is a solid location and a great alternative to busier more tourist focused locations but $99 for 2 meals, an appetizer, and 2 drinks is just way too much for the comparative quality of the food. The drinks were a big disappointment. They are tiny (especially for the cost $11 for a mojito smaller than a solo cup), they don't provide any straws (plastic or paper versions) and they don't advertise that in advance. The food is fresh and good but not mind blowing. It's a great location but their prices need to be reduced by about 30% for the quality of their food to match their prices. Recommend as a great alternative if other locations are fully booked or have long wait times.

The pics are from 11/24 so the food may be prepared a bit different but is always good. We started with the lobster spring rolls, crab beignets and the mozzarella and tomatoes. All were delicious. They don't skim on the lobster. Each piece has a half of a lobster tail. The crab beignets are crispy on the outside and filled with crab. The dinner menu is not big but I think I have tried everything except the ahi tuna which my son gets consistently and he loves. Our latest visit I got the shrimp and grits for the first time and it was amazing. The mushrooms on the grits complemented the dish well. The staff is welcoming gives great recommendations. Most of us ordered the Tuesday special, which included a three-course meal with your choice of salad, either the tomahawk or New York strip paired with filet mignon, plus two sides. We chose the mac & cheese and brussels sprouts, and both were absolutely amazing! For dessert, we enjoyed the crème brûlée and carrot cake, which were the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. What really impressed us was how organized and attentive the servers were, especially with such a large group. They handled everything smoothly and even split the check three ways without any issues. This was easily the best meal we've had while vacationing in Destin, Florida. We will definitely be back!

Our waitress Marissa was friendly, very professional, attentive and a virtual font of information. My glass was never in danger of being empty. The manager checked on us multiple times and the chef Amanda came over and became fast friends with my wife. Her bubbly personality explained why the food tasted so good. She truly cooks with love and you can taste it. Everything was fantastic but the star is the Wagyu served with a hot stone to sear it. I paired it with the oysters and it was the perfect combination. The steak was rich and decadent and the oysters with the vinaigrette helped cut the fattiness of the meat. It's a must try. Highly recommend going here. Coming to this location for the first time proved that streak still continues. The LUMP BLUE CRAB BISQUE - Sherry, Cream, Crushed Herb Croutons to start was fabulous. The MACADAMIA-NUT-CRUSTED SNAPPER - Hawaiian Red Sea Salt, Almond Rice, Grilled Asparagus, Wasabi Soy Beurre Blanc was just as good. Yes, something I usually pass on entirely, dessert, the key lime pie was great too. The only disappointment was the piña colada I ordered. The "bar" is set high on this one by the Marlin Bar in Orlando so I'll give them a pass. Service was very attentive and the place itself is brand new. I wish the developer would have made more parking closer to the buildings. In the off season it was nuts, coming here during peak season is going to be a challenge. One aspect they truly excel at is the live entertainment. The music is just right--loud enough for the audience to sing "Sweet Caroline," yet soft enough to allow for casual conversations at the table.

We are typically there at least three out of the seven days we stay in town. Unfortunately, after our experience on Mother's Day, we do not plan on returning. We arrived around 4:30 p.m. with a party of nine, hoping to enjoy some of the happy hour menu and pricing. We were kept waiting in the front until exactly 5:00 p.m., even though it was obvious that tables on the back deck were already available. Once seated, our server was polite and did a good job taking care of us. During conversation, we mentioned the long wait, and he explained that it is apparently "protocol" to delay seating larger parties until after 5:00 so they do not receive happy hour pricing. If that is truly company policy, I find it extremely disappointing and dishonest. We felt manipulated instead of welcomed. The food quality was also far below what we have experienced in past years. The crusted snapper that was recommended to us was terrible and had to be sent back. My grandson's burger was also very poor quality and honestly unpleasant. The only dishes our table generally agreed were decent were the squash casserole bowl and the chicken parmesan. Another disappointment was learning that bread is no longer served. For families with children, that was always something simple that helped while waiting on meals. Between the removal of those small touches, the higher prices, and the noticeable decline in food quality, the restaurant no longer feels worth returning to. I'm not writing this to get anyone in trouble. I'm writing because this restaurant used to be one of the highlights of our vacation every year, and it is frustrating to see the experience decline this much. Chris Tomlinson

Seagar's is easily the most surprising restaurant in the panhandle. It's not surprising because it's a an unusual food. In some ways, it should not be something that causes much of an emotion, after all, it's a steakhouse and that is a category of establishments that isn't exactly uncommon in America. Located in the Hilton, a property that up until 2025, was another run down Hilton in the big portfolio of run down properties. Then, renovations came and the hotel sprung back a bit to life once again. Seagar's is nestled away from the hectic Hilton restaurants filled with screaming kids and frantic families. It's right by the conference center and while that's a short walk through the lobby, it feels miles away from the rest of the hotel. Sinatra songs on the piano, elegant classic design and beautifully dressed staff welcome guests to enjoy a meal of classic American opulence. The unique element of Seagar's is the table side manner in which several dishes are crafted. Table-side Caesar salad is phenomenal. The lobster is amazing. The Filet Diane tableside is a remarkable dish, very delicate and filled with mushroom flavors that carefully complement to quality of the meat without overpowering. With the volume of dishes prepared at the table, our incredible server Ryan effectively became the chef and was a true pleasure to chat with. A wonderful and entertaining gentleman who knows his stuff, from fine wines to the incredible food. Thus, Seagar's is a surprise. It's a surprise because one would not expect to find such a great steakhouse in this part of Florida, particularly not hidden in Hilton. This experience rivals the best steakhouses of New York and Chicago with above and beyond service, fun presentation, perfectly prepared classics and a touch of romance in the overall atmosphere. Ps. Wine list is very reasonably priced relative to retail, so don't feel bad getting a top quality bottle.
