I had an appt today I called yesterday to make sure they could do what I wanted. When I got there the guy was just not having it super rude about what I wanted I kept saying thank you, and sorry because I just want them done nice. I got builder with powder I realized I wouldn't get long nails because I wanted my natural nails no fakes. The main owner comes in and the beginning talking about me laughing and what I wanted and a course it wasn't full English but it was enough words to know they were talking about me. I felt so uncomfortable since I was rude and mean to anyone just saying to myself. I wanted to owner to check me out because I wanted to tell him but he didn't so I left it alone. He rushed my nails I was there for 30 mins no nail prep nothing. Wasn't even busy ! I had an appointment on a Sunday and got stuck in traffic but Michelle and Yun still made sure I got my full and pedicure. I've been driving past this new nail salon for a few months and finally took some time for myself and walked in for services. I was instantly impressed with the simplicity and cleanliness of the salon as well as the warm welcome. It was quiet and had spa music playing and muted television in the background playing the Food channel..to set the scene for you. :) I got a gel manicure and a luxury pedicure. Overall, the finished product was great. I really enjoyed the relaxing pedicure and friendliness of the owners/employees. I've lived in Gilroy for 2 1/2 years now and finally feel like I don't have to go to San Jose when I want a Mani/pedi. Also, I thought their prices were totally reasonable. I came here last weekend with my girlfriend during the afternoon. It was busy but they took us in when I called ahead. I could tell they weren't the shop that squeezes people in. We were seated pretty quickly which I like because a lot of nail salons in the area make people wait over 30+mins even with appointment. I only got a pedicure and my girlfriend got a manicure and pedicure with a design. They were friendly and unfortunately I forgot who was the one that did my pedi . She was very nice and joked around with me. My girlfriend had Michelle (i think the name) do her nails and the same result, it was all good! I have no complaints because the service was top notch. I think I just found my new nail spot in this city! Royal Nails Spa has so many pros that I can't find a reason not to want to come back. New to Gilroy, I needed to find a new place to get my mani/pedi. I chose this place based on location and of course the most high Yelp ratings. Parking was not a problem, they have a shared parking lot but I was able to park right in front of the salon. I was a little hesitant at first because I didn't feel like waiting and from window view there was a lot of clients. Upon entering I was greeted right away and seated within minutes. It's a nice size nail salon, spacious and clean looking. They also have a cute mini kiddie spa that I'd love to bring my daughter to next time. YEN was wonderful! She is a doll, very sweet. I'm more than satisfied with her work. She was very clean, did sharp work on my nails and made sure I was happy with it before I left. Another pro to this place and is a prerequisite for nails spas for me is that they use disposable liners. I had such a wonderful experience thanks to Yen I will definitely be coming back! read more

One of the visits that makes you wish there was a zero stars option. It's been months since I've returned to this location since the last time I came, I had a nail tech rudely ask me if I wished to do my nails myself after I just asked if she could shape them just a little bit more round. Sadly, this time trying royals again ended up with another disappointment. The nail tech asked if I wanted to do white powder instead of simply just gel, to which I agreed. But after he had finished the powder, about 8/10 nails were only 3 quarters covered in the powder(I could legit see my natural nail still). To which he continued to say he's just going to do gel since I didn't like the powder, even though I told him I did like it and that it was really nice, but if it were possible for him to simply add a little more to cover the bare spots. Which he just responded, I'm just goin to do gel since you didn't like it. I kept apologizing Bc his tone of voice made me feel guilty. Even though now looking back at it, i shouldn't have had to feel guilty, when I wasn't asking for much, I just wanted a well done set that would be worth my hard earned money. I understand by the constant looks at the door every time he heard it open, that he probably just wanted to get to as many people to make more money for the day. Which honestly I can understand, but at least try to make the nails look professionally done. I have been to a lot of nail salons in Watsonville, Capitola but I have never received customer service like at Royal Nails. The commute from Watsonville to Gilroy is more than well worth it. I'm not sure who did my nails but she did an amazing job, my shape, my color all just came out so great, I love everything about them. As I was leaving the salon a bit past 8PM when they close at 7PM! I realized I had smudged my top coat and I went inside and they had already set the alarm and where about to walk out but when I told them what had happen they quickly deactivated the alarm sat me down and cleaned up my nails and reapplied my top coat so they could look as good as new. I really appreciate that they took the time do that for me because I've been to salons that would not have took the time and would have said to come back. I'm disappointed with this salon! I had been going to them for about 18 months and was happy. What did it for me was that every time I made an appointment my time was never honored! I would get there early and they would make me wait 15 to 20 minutes. Then my nails were breaking and chipping all the time and they would tell me I needed a new set when I had just done a new set. I've received fills and pedicures here, always satisfied with the results. They have a large amount of color choices for those of you who get multiple colors on your nails. I have probably been to 5 different nail salons in the area and have been disappointed with them. I'm glad to have found my place. The only negative is that they kinda nickle and dime you for little things. Changing the shape of you nails is an extra $5 and they charge more for three colors. This is my first time at this business, and my second time ever being at a nail salon. I must say, I am impressed! Firstly, the atmosphere was very neat and clean (My only concern was the nail dust travelling to my side from another client's nails being filed). Second, it did not hurt when they filed my nails or pushed my cuticles, it was very comfortable, and there are tvs to entertain you. I was helped by Lam, and she was very soft spoken but made sure that before cutting my nails and coloring them that it was what I wanted. I've never had gel nails before and I accidentally mixed up what I wanted, which was a set and not just a gel manicure. She did seem irritated because she was just about to put the color on when I said something, but that is completely my fault and she was very nice to fix it to what I wanted.
