I really don't want to give this nail salon 1 star since I've had good services in the past (would've given them at least 3), but man they messed up big time on my last visit. I normally just stick with a gel manicure, but one day I decided to try the dip powder. From what I was told it lasts longer than a regular gel manicure and it's pretty much what it says it is, dip powder. They'll dip your finger in a powder and then put the polish on after. My manicurist was one of the males that works there (I wish I got his name). I was a little bit confused when he dipped my finger in a powder but then added some weird paste-like substance on top of that. I figured that's what the whole process is so I just went with it. For it being my first time getting that service done, I thought he did a good job. But here's why they get 2 stars... I return to the salon a little bit over 3 weeks after I got that dip powder manicure. The color was still there , it was just that my nails were growing out. I told the lady that greeted me that I just wanted to take the polish off. She looked at my nails and to me it seemed like she didn't know what was on it. She was talking to another lady to figure out what was put on my nails. I told her it was the dip powder but she still seemed as if it wasn't that. She priced me at $25 to take it off. As she was shaving off the color, she pointed out a discoloration on one of my nails. At first I thought it was a bruise, but then she started shaving the color off more and realized my nail was GREEN!!! She asked me if that was there before I got my nails done, I told her no! I explained to her that I got my nails done there and that a male had done it. She asked me if it's the guy that sits at this table and pointed it out, and I said yes. I asked her why my nail was green and she said water must've got in between. Totally unacceptable! She then started talking to her coworker in Vietnamese. It was actually hard for her to take it off with just the machine to shave it down. She had to pull out her fake nail container and take one of the fake nails and try to slip it underneath that paste-like substance to pop it off. It was uncomfortable! Once she got most of it off (I honestly don't believe she took it all off because my nails are a bit bumpy) She gave me a really bad manicure. At first my nails were round but I told her to make them square. My nails were uneven! She cut one of my nails too short and didn't bother fixing the rest to make them even. At this point, I was just annoyed and wanted to leave. Pretty disappointed. Most likely not going to come back. read more

Pro: clean place and great staff Con: 1. no one answered when I called so I was a walk in 2. I picked out a really really glittery pink gel on my real nails and instead of doing all the coats using the glitter polish he used a light pink gel on two coats first then only two coats of the glitter I wanted. This made the glitter blotchy in some areas. 3. He got gel on my skin and that is really hard and annoying to get off. 4. The gel didn't go all the way to the sides on my nail. 5. I always call before I go to ask if they can do a pedi and gel mani right then. If they're swamped, they'll let you know, or they'll tell you to drive on down. I like that they soak off old gel with acetone-soaked cotton clipped to my fingers or wrapped in aluminum foil. No sanding drills on my nail beds for me! Since my feet are very ticklish, I appreciate they spend the least amount of time possible sanding down my callouses. The staff is professional, polite, and friendly. There is a wide color selection. Great job, thorough job on ensuring the French tip was right. Weak on the massage, but that's not a major part of either I suppose. Got the "luxurious" pedi but it really isn't that far different from a regular pedi in my opinion other that a mark up justified by use of some sugar and scented scrub which to me, isn't necessary, but to each his own. Clarified I needed to be out by one, stated it was fine. didn't get seen until 12:20 and ended having to just get my dipped nails removed. Didn't even get the nails completely removed because they said acrylic powder is longer. Worst experience. I had gone there before with Tina and she was amazing. This time was just horrible. Expected me to pay the $15 with still half of my nails having acrylic powder one then, settled for $10. They were rude and made it seem like I was the issue. I was directly communicating the acrylic layer was still on my nails. And all the worker did was file it as if I wouldn't notice my nails with a layer of powder. Michelle and Kevin are the BEST! It took me 3 failed attempts in the area until finding this nail salon and now I'll never go anywhere else. Michelle is detail-oriented, she's fast, she cares that you're happy with your nails and she is SO kind. Another point worth noting- she'll let you know whether or not she can execute what you want instead of leaving you unhappy with something different from your vision. I would give zero stars if possible. If time is not important to you then go here. Otherwise, I don't recommend. I made an appointment in advance. After arriving ahead of my appointment, 1pm came and went. I waited for 30 MINUTES and still my appointment had not begun. I couldn't wait and frankly chose not to wait any longer because my time is valued, which clearly is of ZERO importance to them. They could have offered for me to wait and for a discount or something of the same but I was met with little remorse for their terrible time management. This is really unacceptable business practice. This business is unethical and dishonest. I do not recommend going here. My coworker told me about this salon so I thought I would try it out. The first time I went I really liked the environment, and I thought they did a good job. Two weeks later I have 8 of the 10 nails still on. I went back to get the two fixed with new color on all. They started me off with this guy who replaced the two missing nails, took off the color and filed them again. When he was done he sent me to another lady who did the color. When finished they charged me $65 because I was split between two people. I did not ask for this or want it. Anywhere else you go they charge $30 for the service I got. Three days later, one of the nails they fixed fell off. Obviously, I am very disappointed about how all this turned out. P.s. they don't push back your cuticles either. read more

I've been loyal to my nail salon in Milpitas for years. However, I was in need for a desperate pedicure and seeing as I was in Gilroy at my bf's house- I decided to give it a try. After searching yelp, Royal Nails had the best reviews. I decided I'll just get my pedicure here and go back to San Jose (where I live) for my manicure. Originally I wanted Michelle to work on me but she was not in that day. So I got Henry. Boy am I glad! He was super friendly and let me have my space when needed since I was working on my phone as well. I actually befriended two customers whom were regulars as well. They were talking about how they stumbled upon this gem and have been loyal clients since. I definitely saw why! The ambiance was great; very spacious and welcoming. Relaxing as well! Excellent customer service, and what do you know. Towards the end of my pedicure, I asked Henry if he had time to do my manicure as well. He was super patient while my indecisive self kept switching colors. I saw an ombre design but mentioned to him that since I do shellac, my salon says I need to do acrylic nails for this. Seeing as I already had long nails, Henry came up with another solution for me and gave me great tips on how to take care of my nails to make it last longer etc. Needless to say- whenever I'm in need of a mani/pedi and in Gilroy .. I get acrylic gel nails and gel toe pedicures. They are very clean and sanitary. Did you know that Michelle does lashes too? She was trained by Daniel Phu Dinh creator of Logmi Lashes. He is the lash guru to the movie stars. She does an excellent job and is very reasonably priced. I never wear mascara anymore and can go without makeup and still look put together. I had called to get an appointment around 12pm for 4:45pm for a new set. The woman who answered was very kind and asked if I had a certain person I would like but I had never been here so I said only the best person and she said okay. Well I got to the parking lot around 4:40 it was beyond packed. I had to drive around twice to luckily get one right after someone left. I walked inside to a line out the door and 5 girls already waiting. I knew from the start that I would be waiting a while. I finally got started on at 5:20. The man that did my set was very nice but it was a little hard to talk to him. They came out really cute and simple. I asked to get my cuticles cut so another lady did that while he started on someone's nails. the total was $45 and I gave him a 5$ tip and the woman 1$ tip. A little pricey but I guess that's the going rate. I wouldn't go here again only because I noticed a few things. Anything stainless steel can be satanized and reused. But anything other than that should only be a one time use. I could tell the nail grinder, cuticle remover, brushes, and the nail cutter were not cleaned or one time use. That made me very weary and not wanting to come back again. I would suggest going before 3pm so you can get more personal time. read more

And I always have problems with my big toes and usually when I get a pedicure they try to fix the ingrown toe nail but they didn't touch it at all. They do have a good variety of colors though.
