I hate to say this because I was seriously in love with the apple fritters. Unfortunately, the only time to get them fresh is first thing in the morning. I stopped by the store before closing and grabbed an apple and a blueberry fritter. A couple of hours later, my stomach just couldn't handle it. I'm not sure if I got a bad or old batch, but I ended up throwing one away because just smelling or looking at it made me nauseous. When I asked for a Bavarian chocolate bar, they gave it to me. I asked for a Bavarian maple bar they gave it to me got home and they had no Bavarian cream in the center called them and explain the situation and they said oh we never put the Bavarian cream in the chocolate bars or the maple bar in the past, I do remember buying them with the Bavarian cream in them they said no never so I paid for what I thought was Bavarian cream donuts, and received a plain chocolate donut and a plain doughnut. Large selection of donuts. Hate to leave a poor rating but it is 2025 and they only accept cash. Couldn't use my Apple Pay (which is accepted literally everywhere because let's be real, who carries cash these days?) or my debit card. Growing up in Vallejo, Royal Jelly Donuts have been part of those go-to businesses. They have quality donuts. I went there late afternoon on Mother's Day. I was craving a chocolate donut. I was expecting a low count of donuts since it was 2 hours from closing. I was wrong. I was shocked by their customer service. I came to the store yesterday, met a lady (owner), said I need 2 boxes, she YELLED at me "Bag" not "Box", I was shocked. I repated it I need 2 boxes, then she said 1 box is 12 donuts (with an impatient face). Then I yes "I need a box not a bag". Then she blamed me for not saying clearly - what a joke. Cash only. I love this donut shop. It's run by hardworking mom & pop and they always keep their oil fresh and change it frequently. Nobody wants donuts fried in old oil and then you get that funky aftertaste in your mouth. Location is nice and the facility was clean and very organized with various of doughnuts and coffees to choose from. However there were a few cons in which I deducted stars. I asked the rep if they sell cinnamon rolls and she said yes and pointed to two options. One original and a roll with chocolate. I selected the chocolate cinnamon roll. The roll had no cinnamon and I did not taste any chocolate. As for the coffee, the creamer is horrible and she told me she doesn't have any milk to offer. No milk, but you are serving coffee?!?! How can this be?!?! Also, the coffee isn't great. I won't be returning, but I would recommend to others. This establishment just wasn't for me. read more

I really this place. The neighborhood seems a little rough but otherwise, I come here often. Their buttermilk donuts are the best. When I arrived there was an older lady putting boxes together. She admittedly greeted me when I entered " Good morning". I purchased a medium coffee (no small available, it was ok not strong at all)one butter doughnut (very good, my fav) and a crumb doughnut ( which was food but different, it's like a glaze but with good crumbs). The lady was really nice, we talked about current events and she gave me some good advise. My total was $6.56 and she through in a doughnut whole which was good and most. If I could give it no stars I would! Took the babies to get donuts today, drove across town to the Royal Jelly donut shop between Florida and Tennessee St. Babies were fussing by time we got there, so before getting them out of their car seats my daughter got out to make sure there were still donuts since we were there closer to lunch than breakfast. She came back to the car and said there was a note on the door saying they'd be back in 5 minutes. The door sign still said OPEN we assumed maybe the employee was in the restroom or something. Tried to get the babies distracted with our phones and singing and stuff but the 5 min became 10 and still no employee. Fussiness became full on SCREAMING around the 15 min mark and we debated leaving but the note definitely said 5 minutes and we had already waited sooo long plus the babies were counting on sprinkled donuts.... other customers had came and were waiting as well while others left after finding out the 5 min note had expired 5x over! I tried calling but got no answer. At 30 mins I started looking for a pen and paper to write them a nasty note for having people wait under the pretense that they'd be returning when they weren't. Found a paper and eyeliner (yeah I knoooow- I used what I had!) and wrote a quick note saying how we had waited when a van pulled up onto the sidewalk. I asked if they were the donut shop people and they said yeah- I said "you shouldn't say you'll be back in 5 min if you aren't going to be" the man said "we were coming back" I said "well don't put 5 MINUTES then, we've been out here for over 30 minutes" my 1 year old had cried hisself to sleep, and 2 year old was still asking for her damn sprinkled donut! The people offered no apologies or anything. I went to get back in the car, mad and not wanting to patronize their establishment any longer- when I turned around and went inside to grab 1 donut for my 2 year old since she had to wait for sooo long and heard the lady said something about the parking lot. She was looking at me so I assumed she must have been speaking to me, I said I didn't know what she was saying (1. she has an accent and 2. she was wearing a mask) - she started raising her voice and having an attitude. I said "I still don't know what you are saying but what I am saying is please don't leave notes on the door so customers wait for you and you don't come back til whenever- that's not fair!" the woman still had an attitude and never offered an apology nor asked if I wanted to order. The Best ! End of story! But I'll still tell you more anyway! I'm not even a donut person but I appreciate a good one. I had a couple of these donuts a few months ago, and I was hooked! Then just to be sure and to prove it to myself and my husband, I had to sample donuts in other places, in town,out of town and way out of town in New York City. And now I can now tell you, in my opinion, these are the best donuts I ever ate! It's a subtle difference that puts these over the top. Fresh, light but substantial, yummy and heavenly. The fillings are generous and delicious. The French Cruller, my favorite, is kind of like a donut shaped croissant,only more moist and silky. Get one or a dozen in the morning.
