I do a lot of car repairs and even post car repair vids on youtube as 'steamboat75043'. When my 2011 VW 'dieselgate' touareg TDI started leaking oil badly I thought I had messed up the crush washer on the oil drain plug which I have done before. Always makes a mess. And diesel oil changes are foul. (a couple of easy ones for this vehicle are out there) But...when I pulled off the belly/skid pan I saw that I hadn't. A bunch of research had me thinking perhaps it was the turbo oil feed line. Or sometimes the timing case leaks - and then its a write off for the labor charges for an old vehicle. I kept driving it to check engine oil level (it holds 8.3 liters) and that level wasn't going down so I inspected the injectors and the seals on all 6 (V6) were gone. Another clue was the vehicle was reporting the same economy - it though it was using the same amount of fuel, but the leak caused the fuel needle to move much faster than it normally does. Another clue was that it was leaking oil, but diesel engine oil is black 200 miles after an oil change. The oil on the ground was clear - so diesel being a fuel oil, that was the oil I was finding. Its a job I could have done myself and I would have to weld together a slide hammer injector puller, but I thought, I really don't want to do this job. I took the car in on friday to discuss it and it was 'no problem - let us order the parts for when you can bring it in'. I said do you want me to pay for them? 'Nah, we'll use them on the next vehicle if not yours'. Nice. That impressed me. Brought in on monday done on a tuesday. It is a somewhat labor intensive job but not really a hard one per se. Just time consuming. I got the vehicle back and they cleaned the mess off the engine and now it something leaks I can figure out what it is since the engine was filthy. Looks brand new under the hood. They told me they had a do-over on 3 injectors which is what I would have probably had happened to me too (another reason I did not want to do the job). I am not surprised. A week later and not a drip or drop. This is a shop recommended by a car nerd/wrench. You won't find that often. Next job I don't want to do, I am coming right back. Fair pricing, great value, quick turn around for me with lots of cars in front so they had plenty of business. I recommend them. read more

This place is GREAT. I've taken my car here three times now and been extremely please. I tried to take my car to EuratoShop in Plano and they want we THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS just to replace my spare plugs - AND I ALREADY HAD THE SPAEK PLUGS! Lol. Auto Shop Nightmare First, I went in and told Jeff I need an oil change on three vehicles, I should have known something was not right by the way his eyes lite up. I told him I been using the dealer cause the neighborhood repair shops kept trying to rip me off with the "You have a leak". I told him I do not have a leak! I stop going to German Auto works on Buckingham and Plano road because of that, also FT Auto because of that and the fact that when I took my vehicle in, I left with something wrong that was not wrong when I brought it in" Mechanics padding the ticket". I picked my cars up and the first thing out of his mouth was "you have a leak; I know you said you didn't have a leak, but you do" really?! Now I smell oil where I did not before, and my pretty new driveway has oil stains on it that I did not have before because I did not have a leak! I paid a little over $1000.00 with three oil changes and transmission mounts replacement. Now my shocks bounce all the way home." That I did not have before, I have two oil leaks that I did not have before, all while trying to pad the ticket! Trying to get another $1000.00 out of me. Well, I now must spend that money to get those things fixed but it will not be there! This shop is about to be put on blast on Instagram, Facebook, The Consumer Protection Agency, The Better Business Bureau. And I might get an Attorney for Fraud! Very thankful I found Rowlett Motorwerks! Actually, this place came highly recommended and it definitely lives up to it! I drive a 2003 BMW and just moved from Houston. I had an incredible mechanic there and have been skeptical that I would find another trustworthy mechanic for my beloved vehicle when I moved. Jeff was awesome! I recommend Rowlett Motorwerks for repairs. Jeff was helpful when describing what my BMW needed. I was disgusted because I could not find a shop that I could trust. The previous shop that serviced my car for five years quality of service had changed, the experience with them became transactional( about money and up selling). My car set for six months because I couldn't take a chance on paying more money for things that my car didn't need and shops that didn't stand behind their work if it wasn't fixed correctly. I have never been to a mechanic shop that I have trusted more! I took my VW in last week. The shop was able to quickly get me in, and they kept me updated along the way. I needed a part replaced, so they ordered it from the dealership. Unfortunately, I still had some problems when I picked up my car, so Rowlett Motorwerks told me to bring it in for them to look at again. It turns out that there was a problem with the part that the dealership gave them. When they spoke with the dealership, the dealership let it slip that VW had extended the warranty for my particular part due to so many issues. Rowlett Motorwerks alerted me to the fact that I could get the part fixed for free through the dealership and offered to refund me all of my money. They did not have to do this, as I would have never known, but it showed their integrity. I will be going back for all future repairs. read more
