This place quoted me a price for rebuilding my transmission. I kept waiting for a call saying the…read moreprice was going up because of this or that. It never came. They were honest, quick, and my truck runs SO good. I certainly would recommend them to anyone having transmission issues. It's been a couple weeks and it runs great.

    ### Extremely Disappointed -- Buyer Beware…read more I strongly recommend **avoiding this transmission shop** unless you want to spend your time and money going in circles. I paid this shop **$4,801 for what I was told would be a heavy-duty built 4L80E transmission**, and the transmission has repeatedly failed and developed new problems almost immediately after being repaired. My truck has now been back to this shop **four times**, and it is unfortunately headed back for a **fifth time**. The original issue involved losing reverse and 2nd gear. The first time, the transmission cooler lines were apparently not installed or secured properly. One of the lines blew off on the highway, causing transmission fluid to spray out and ultimately resulting in the transmission overheating and failing. The second time, I lost reverse completely and the truck would not back up. The third and fourth visits involved continued problems with losing reverse and 2nd gear, along with overheating and what appeared to be internal fluid leakage. Despite multiple repairs, the transmission continues to have serious problems. I picked the truck up on **Thursday, August 13th**, after being told by the shop that it was ready and good to go back to work. It didn't take long for another problem to show up. The torque converter is not locking up properly, the transmission is not going into overdrive correctly, and the transmission is overheating. These problems are making the transmission operate improperly and raise serious concerns about driving it any significant distance. What makes this situation even more frustrating is that I was advised to **drive the truck from Athens to Mabank to their shop**, despite the transmission overheating and not operating properly. I don't believe a customer should be expected to risk further damage to a vehicle because a shop doesn't want to arrange transportation. During the first four visits, the shop was willing to send a tow truck and cover the towing expense to retrieve the vehicle. Now, on the fifth failure, I am being told they are unwilling to do the same, even though the truck is still experiencing major transmission problems after their work. I was also told that this was a **heavy-duty built transmission**. However, I was later told by the builder that the transmission was assembled using **stock internal parts**. If I paid $4,801 for a heavy-duty build, I expect the transmission to actually be built to the specifications I paid for. At this point, my truck has been in their shop **four times in roughly a month**, has traveled less than 1,000 total miles during this process, and continues to experience major transmission failures. I understand that mechanical problems can happen. What I find unacceptable is having the same vehicle repeatedly returned for major problems, being told it is fixed and ready for work, only to have another failure occur, and then being expected to bring the vehicle back myself while it is overheating and not shifting correctly. After spending **$4,801**, I expected a properly built and reliable transmission--not repeated breakdowns, multiple trips back to the shop, and arguments over getting the vehicle safely fixed by there warranty. **Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop. Think very carefully before spending your hard-earned money here.**
