Stay away at all cost! Brought my car there for repair and during the repair they left the car outside the shop in a hail storm and I got extensive damage. I trusted them with my car and through their negligence car was damaged. I talked with the manager to see if he would help with the repairs and he laughed at me. Said it was an older car and it should have damage on it anyway! Also said "We are not responsible for damage to customers cars" My car was in perfect condition when I brought it in to them! Do not trust them with your car! There is a law in the state of Texas called the Bailee law, and they ARE responsible for damages to your car because of their negligence. They also left blue paint marks from another car from opening a door and hitting my car, Also took a big chunk out of drivers side door panel. Did not top off my coolant tank also when I asked to fill it. After spending almost $6,000, you would think they would treat customers better. I will never go back and considering taking them to court for damages and I will win according to law. Pretty sad place. Signs of a bad Auto Repair Shop: They did everything they could to try and get out of THEIR responsibility to take care of customers cars. Manager was even very rude and condescending. I guess the ultimate question is: Would you bring your car to a shop that is not responsible for damage to your car? Update: Also found a bunch of loose screws in the cup holder and console. This place will absolutely drain your wallet. Just picked up my wife's car as we dropped it off this morning to check on a fluid leak. Picked it up at the end of the day and were told there was no leak and not need for any repairs thereof. And it cost me $200.00!!! There are 25 auto care places I had to pass by to get to Horizon. Dear Horizon Auto Repair, Rockwall, Eric, Last Wednesday, I called and spoke to you (Eric) to request that my vehicle -- a meticulously maintained, original-condition Land Rover -- be put inside the garage or, at the very least, in the covered parking at the rear of your facility to protect it from weather damage while in your care. Eric assured me that this would be done. Today, with the entire area under a Level 4 severe weather watch (violent windstorms, hail, and potential tornadoes), I drove by your shop to confirm that my vehicle was properly sheltered. I was shocked and extremely disappointed to find it sitting fully exposed at the front of your lot -- not even shielded from public view, much less from the dangerous weather. I feel both misled and disregarded. I have taken great care to protect this vehicle since the day I purchased it -- it is in pristine condition, with no scratches or dings. Leaving it exposed under these conditions places it at serious risk, and as we all know, insurance will never fully cover the value of such a vehicle, nor can it be truly replaced. Frankly, it is unbelievable and unacceptable that a shop specializing in luxury marques -- where customers entrust their high-value vehicles -- would be so neglectful in protecting them from what I regard as PREVENTABLE possible weather related damage. My first instinct was to drive it off the lot and bring it home to put it in my garage, but I have no way to get a hold of anybody to see if it's a drivable or if there any components removed making it non-drivable. I expect an immediate explanation as to why your prior assurances were not honored, and a commitment that this situation will be remedied at once and in time for tonight's dangerous weather forecast. I took a truck there to get repaired. Had a front 4wd hub go out on it. I had the part in hand when I took it in. They proceeded to change both brake rotors, calipers and pads on the front. Did NOTHING to fix the grinding issue, mainly because that was NOT the issue because I already knew. My fault for allowing them to charge me $1200 for something that had nothing to do with what was wrong! people at counter are arrogant and smug! One even stated the part I brought in was trash. Well, that "trash" part fixed the problem, and I wouldnt waste my time peeing on anything at Horizon, and will never go back. They cater to rich Heath people. After being a client for several years, I have discovered after an experience this week where i received a $1700 estimate for a simple one coolant host leak that Horizon is not only overpriced vs. dealership pricing but potentially engaging in predatory pricing up charging by 3-4X vs. Fair Value. A competing repair shop priced the part at the dealership at $190.00 with 1-2hrs labor for $490. After discovering this I had the firm review my last repairs which were egregiously priced at $7,000 for about $3,000 in actual parts and labor. Be aware, there is a new management team in place. Customer service is great, and they do with a smile on their face with the front desk bidding the actual costs up against their clients. After reaching out to about 40 of their clients in Heath and Rockwall I want to educate people and make them aware of the potential self-dealing and potential predatory pricing initiatives that are taking place at Horizon. My experience would recommend honest hard-working people avoid this company or simply price the job out at competitors so you can see not a just a reasonable % mark-up but 2-3-4X markups on parts and labor. Asked for estimate to repair air conditioner on Dodge truck. Was kept waiting for about two hours and presented with a bill of over $200 and a quote in excess of $2300 to replace compressor, condenser, drier as a kit. I knew the AC was inoperable I expected a quick ballpark estimate, instead with no explanation and no permission they did a test at my expense. Very arrogant assumption they had captured an ignorant victim. I found a responsible honest auto service center and negotiated a likely cost of replacing the AC with a kit including any preliminary testing. Completed price of $1600. I am a mechanical engineer, I do most repairs and maintenance on my cars, tractors and truck. I advise getting 3 bids on work and avoiding this place. read more

i was recommend to this place via phone and when i spoke to a guy(Jason) here the first day he seemed nice/okay. Second day he was rude and talking to me with an attitude/being a smart ass. If you're having a bad day, don't go to work or don't take it out on someone that's just trying to get help with their car..... i'm glad i found another shop because i knew i didn't want my car fixed here. My advice is to find someone else to work on your car. I had my classic car towed to them in February, after calling and be assured they could work on it. The original quote was aprox $3200, 1 week short of 5 MONTHS later I had it towed back home. Their communication was lacking, I usually had to call to find out what was happening after long stretches of hearing nothing and it always was something else and more money. When the quote reached $5050.00, I had had it. I told the person I had been working with , "not one penny more and if it isn't running I am having it towed back, I'm through with you guys!" of course that didn't fix it either and when I went to tow it, I was told $5611.76. Of course I have to pay it to get my car out. They spent over $550 of my money without my consent. No phone call, just spent it. I was not given the opportunity to approve or decline the additional. I was only sent a check for $300 as a refund. I have not cashed it and am still considering small claims court just on principle. When I mentioned that to the manager he laughed and asked if I would really sue over $250. If you think it's nothing then send me another check. There is so much more to this story that infuriated me, I worked in customer service over 20 years and this is not how you treat clients if you are reputable. You make good your mistakes, they won't. They are neither European car specialists or female friendly as they advertise. read more

I was disappointed in the communicated about the price of my service which ended up being almost 45% higher than what they quoted me ($428 final price vs $300 quoted). I called Horizon to ask if they performed oil changes on the Maserati Ghibli and the employee said yes and it would cost a little under $300 after taxes. This indicated to me that Horizon regularly works on Maseratis. I made an appointment and when I came in, they did not have the filter or oil. The employee was very communicative after, letting me know when the oil/filter was expected to be in. He even asked what I paid for oil changes at the dealership (about $350) and said he'd try to get it to cost around there. Already HIGHER than Horizon's quote to me. He also informed me that they would use a different brand of oil instead of Maserati's to maintain the cost. I came back in after a few days for my oil to be changed and was shocked when I was asked to pay $428 for the total service. I inquired about why and he told me that I had to pay to cover the unexpected freight charges from Maserati. What happened to using another oil brand to keep cost towards your initial quote? At that point Horizon should have ate the extra cost and charged my what they quoted initially. Lesson learned, stick with the dealership even if it is farther away. read more

Horizon Auto has sold me and installed three truck bed covers over the years. I've never had any issues until this last cover. The handle to open and close broke off some time ago. I tried contacting the supplier and poking around the internet for a replacement handle to no avail. Finally, a week ago I drove over to Horizon to see what they could do. I met John at Horizon Auto who contacted their bed cover supplier as well as the company that built the bed cover. This morning Horizon Auto installed the new handle and didn't charge for parts or labor. The entire experience was amazing. You expect great service when spending $2000-$3000 for a bed cover and bed rug. But the sign of true "Customer Centric" service is when something unexpected goes wrong after the initial sale. I came here for an oil change and they told me I had an oil engine leak. Mind you, I just got an oil engine leak fixed the year before so I questioned them on it because it didn't seem right. After going through our dealership and a different auto center we actually trust, we found it was a messy oil change that made it look like a leak. Absolutely ridiculous. I inquired about suspension work for my truck, specifically if this shop could provide shock replacements and if I could supply my own parts. I was told no on the parts, as doing so wouldn't allow this shop to honor the warranty and was told that somebody would contact me within a day, as this business was affiliated with a truck shop next door. Never even got in to pricing. Waited to end of second day to post review. Check your recordings early 8/15. I'm not a scammer, competitor or kid. Took my wife's Range rover for an alignment with new tires. 3000 miles the front tires were scrubbed so bad they had to be replaced. I got the lifetime alignment but i took it to my local shop and he said it was way out. Had to pay him to fix the alignment and Had to buy new tires. Also they HA quoted me $900 for a break job, said i would get back with them. Bought break parts and was going to do it myself but got busy so i called them to quote it with me supplying the parts, $1100 Won't go there again. read more

I had been dealing with vibrations in front and rear in my 2013 Ford Truck since I purchased it new from the dealer. Took it back several times and result was always they couldn't find the problem. As it got progressively worse I took it to Horizon. Lets just say vibrations are gone front and rear. The technicians and office staff were very responsive and kind. They could not find any problem, so they returned my car and recommended I come back if anything worsened or became more prominent--all at no charge. We had such a great experience with Horizon auto center. After being on the road for 48 hrs with 3 toddler, a dog, hauling a 16ft trailer, their kindness and understanding was greatly appreciated. The brake line on our rear driver side busted when we were pulling out of the gas station, and they were able to get us in immediately, we waiting in their conditioned waiting area, and they let us bring our German Shepherd in with us out of the heat. It was also nice that they had a lot of shaded and grass area to take her out on. We were out in under 2 hours, and a few hours later safely made it to our final destination. read more

They told me they tightened battery cable but documented they changed the battery cable. I did not get charged for parts but did get charged $172. Horizon has been very helpful to me since I started bringing both our vehicles here about a year ago. They are upfront about the costs, are willing to elaborate when I have questions, and do not rush me while trying to make decisions. I didn't buy my tires from them so the only complaint I have is they do not rotate the tires for free since I didn't purchase there. I believe this should be a standard service of getting an oil change. However, that doesn't make or break as I continue to be a customer and they have done a great job of taking care of our vehicles. They also have given me several rides when I was in need of one and overall very friendly staff by all. read more

Took my daughters car in for a leaky radiator that was causing your car to overheat. They called me back told me that the radiator had a leak in it and it needed a couple of new hoses. I told him to go ahead and get it fixed and they called me back the next day and let me know that my radiator actually was not cracked and that it did not need to be replaced. Most places would've just replaced it and enjoy the additional profit off the sale of the new radiator plus the labor to put it in. They do very good work and they are very honest. They cost a little bit more than other places but they are well worth it great customer service. read more

I've been there several times now and every time their pricing is better than anywhere else that I've gone before them for the quote. They get me in they get me out they update me through text and even go out of their way to take you back to work and pick you up when the repair is done. Everyone is really nice, helpful and take the time to explain to me what they did. They have a lot of cars in the parking lot they're working on. I know that means they're busy and it takes time, but to have that many people going there they have to be doing something right with everyone else, not just me! Just moved to Heath and needed a facility to inspect my vehicles. Stopped in and was greeted by Chad, the service adviser and I must say, he was courteous and very professional. During the vehicle inspection of my Cadillac the technician Devin, noted that my engine mounts were worn and needed replacement. I was very impressed with his knowledge and ability to diagnose and articulate the problem, when I was oblivious to anything wrong with the car. As such, I went ahead and had the mounts replaced and amazed as they were able to complete the task in one day!!! In closing, I highly recommend this shop and want to say "Thank You" to Chad, Matt and Devin, as their diligence and professionalism was second to none!!! read more

Long overdue update, mostly because I've been at a loss for what to say. The car was finally finished on a Saturday, but because they close at 1, we had to pick it up after hours (at 1:30) and it wouldn't start. Persnickety trunk kill switch had been activated. Phone calls while standing out in the heat to Heath et. al. went unanswered and unreturned. Luckily, my handsome man figured out what the problem was... thanks guys, and thank god we travel with a screw driver. $2700 later (twenty-seven hundreddddd dollarsssssesss) and the four wheel alignment wasn't actually done (they couldn't get a bolt off but helpfully suggested I contact Corvette Corner for them to figure it out), it came home with a fuel line leak (always something, huh) and the steering wheel was put back on upside down (it arrived at the shop right side up). When I called and complained they helpfully told me about this handy dandy item called a steering wheel puller *eyebrow*. For $2700 I kinda wanted them to "fix" the car, not just "work on" the car. I do think they honestly did good work on rebuilding the problems with the front end that honestly made the car a danger to drive -- but jeeeeezeee... cha-ching. I know they use these books that tell them what to charge for labor. I totally get it. And I get that I am driving the penultimate money pit of a car. But holy crap, it's 4 months later and I still feel nausea when we drive past the place. read more

Waiting area is very clean and comfortable. Cons: can be pricey, and you may get sticker shock when they push additional, expensive, unnecessary repairs and or aftermarket parts.
