They have a non-alcoholic mojito that seems like a bar special. It tastes gross and artificial. The space is very small and intimate. The clams, burgers, and soup all get rave reviews. Let me preface this review with something straight off the menu, $42 for 16oz of "wild-foraged apple cider." After my first visit at their new restaurant I learned two things, their reliably average tavern food remained unchanged but the prices have risen by at least 30%. This is a spit in the face of everyone who has been supporting Rowdy for years. For the exact same dish as you'd get before, you are looking at $18 for a bowl of onion soup, $20 for a burger (the cheapest entree), $30 for fish and chips, $36 for a pork chop. $8 for a side of "grilled bread." When we got back a few minutes before 5 the dining room was full and the hostess told us it would be a 45 minute wait with a smirk. Totally recommend rowdy hall.. I was wondering where that philly cheese steak aroma was coming from & then I sniffed around and found out I also spoke about it with a friend that I work by. It was quite simple and easily understated. The fish and chips was memorable & I'll be back for more throughout the summer for sure. The food is fairly good but, my word, the service we received was beyond TERRIBLE. Sat down, waited for 15 minutes for server to take our drink order and then it took another 15 minutes for them to arrive. Our water glasses were frequently empty, we had to flag our server down for a second round and then he never asked us if we wanted anything else to drink. This, in my opinion, is not how the restaurant operates because a couple who came in after us and were seated at an adjacent table were promptly greeted by a different server and had already finished their appetizers and were on their entrees while we were still on our first course. I also saw another couple get extremely frustrated with our same server. Good pub food but the service from our particular server was so painfully inept that I doubt we'd return. read more

Visited here on my way back from the lighthouse on Labor Day. The parking around this area is a little tricky as the free parking around the central road is very limited. The restaurant is a bit inward from the main street and can be tricky to find at first. We split a bunch of dishes together, mostly sandwiches. The bread that they gave before the meal was nice & crisp. It was possibly my favorite part of the meal. I had the beer chicken sandwich on brioche and it looked like a disappointing chicken sloppy Joe at first but it was quite good. The hop flavor of the beer added a nice touch. The waffle cut chips on the side was not worth the effort, though, as it wasn't fried evenly and was too greasy. I had a bit of the burger and the oriental chicken salad as well. The burger was cooked a little bit more done than we asked but it was ok. The oriental chicken salad was terrible. The dressing was too bland and the salad didn't even look fresh. My mom said that the clam chowder was mediocre as well but I think it's time to recognize that no clam chowder will taste as good as ones we've had in New England. The staff seemed nice but not really great at their jobs, which I was surprised by since it looked like an upscale place. Overall, it was not a bad experience but I'm not sure if I'll be able to justify the menu price enough to visit again. I do want to give 3.5 stars if I was able to... it wasn't that bad. read more

Swayed by the outdoor seat and interesting menu items, I give this place a 4. Started with the fried oyster tacos. The part with the fried oyster and aioli was delicious, but the ratio of those to tortilla and lettuce were a bit disappointing. The Dock to Dish Fish Burger was also delicious. Fresh fish with kimchi slaw and sriracha aioli?? Always a winner in my book! Butternut squash was really good. Alternate layers of butternut squash (acting as the noodle), creamed spinach, sundried tomato vinaigrette and crispy leeks made for a very tasty dish. However, I wish they had kept pasta noodles and used more crispy leeks for texture. Add outdoor seating and an above average beer list, and you have yourself a very happy Yelper. read more

Ambiance is great for a relaxed vibe in town while in the Hampton's. Food is tourist trappy. All portions are shareproof. In other words it that's likely the only way they can keep their numbers up in a prime street in the village. If they open the large windows or you sit outside you can have an al fresco experience.. which is my fav. My friend had the salmon with salad..and in all of my dining experience I have never seen that size slice of salmon as an entree. See for yourself. I had a smoked ham with Gruyere cheese on toast sandwhich. It was deadly salty and non nutritive but something about gruyere cheese made me do it. I only had half and that was too much :). Nothing on the menu tempted me slightly.. just not sure why. Again.. go in .. see for yourself.. they call it pub fare.. I say it's more like what you get at state concession stands with little tid bits of good ingredients in somewhat of a skimpy generic presentation. Shredded fries etc.. You get the picture. They had an asparagas omlette.. I should have tried that. The menu doesn't go to deep. One item from each catagory.. for instance that is the only omlette I saw on the menu. read more

Came here with my parents after a day shopping in the Hamptons. They said it got rave reviews and had the "best burgers." We arrived (they do not take reservations) and we put our name in. It was cool that they take your phone number and give you a call/text when your table is ready. That's about where the "cool" stopped. We walked in- mind you the ENTIRE back end of the restaurant was EMPTY but they proceed to seat three of us at this awkward, round, angled table which would still seat TWO people awkwardly. Still, we sat there and waited. And waited. No waiter approached us. We had to pull a busboy over to ask if we could order drinks. The waiter that came over was extremely rude and not at all personable. He didn't introduce himself, mention any specials, or make us feel welcome at all. It was pretty much, "You ready to order? What do you want?" We ordered the Roquefort Walnut Salad to start. Then we each ordered the burger- because apparently that's the thing to get there. So we are sitting awkwardly, sitting, waiting... and finally my mother got up to request a table change. That wasn't an issue, and we took a table in the empty section of the restaurant. And we're waiting... waiting... no salad. Finally my father pulled over another busboy and asks if he can check on our salad. Our rude waiter comes over and says, "No salad?" Obviously not, dude. So he goes into the kitchen and returns with the salad, which was nothing more than some lettuce, chunks of blue cheese, and candied walnuts. Barely any dressing, barely there flavor. Just boring. It felt like it was missing ingredients. Nothing special about it at all. So we all put salad on our plates, and literally a minute and a half into dishing out the salad, another waiter comes out with three burgers to deliver to our table. Do these people really not know how to time an appetizer, followed by your entree? I just rolled my eyes, my mother said, "Uh, we JUST out our salad..." The waiter just stood there, dumbfounded as if he had no clue what he was supposed to do. Oh, I don't know. Take the food back to the kitchen. But since he stood there awkwardly we all just said... "Well just put it down." No apology, no accommodation, just this person who clearly has no clue how to cater to patrons. He put the food down and hurried off. Our "main waiter" came by just to be like, "Oh you got your food?" He saw our table littered with an empty salad bowl, and three empty plates, but did NOTHING to bus the table or clear the table to make eating our entree any easier. Just walked away. I was pretty much livid at this point... the service was just so horrendous and these people are so utterly clueless it was just a joke. The burger... was a burger. Would I proclaim it as the "best burger ever?!" Absolutely not. It was a burger. It's not even like they make specialty burgers with different options. It's a burger. With cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. Horray. I've honestly had a more religious burger experience at Five Guys. Not once did our waiter come over to ask how the food was. We again, sat, and waited, and waited, and our waiter was just GONE. I'm not sure if he went off shift, left for the day, went on break, or just vanished into a black hole. Again, WE had to call a busboy and ask for our check. I couldn't in good faith even think of coming here again. Half of the experience at a restaurant is the service, the wait staff, and how welcome they make you feel. They behaved as they couldn't have cared less that we were there giving them our money. And on top of the terrible service and uncaring staff our bill for a mediocre salad, 3 drinks and 3 burgers was $109. Get the hell outta here. read more

Surprisingly, it wasn't that rowdy other than my 3 year old acting up a little bit. I love the location behind all the hustle & bustle of East Hampton. What a quaint & cozy little pub! On our recent trip to the Hamptons this was probably our favorite restaurant. The waitstaff & manager were all pleasant & outgoing. Our family had a long day going from Southampton to Montauk then to East Hampton & we needed some good food. We weren't disappointed. My wife got a BLT & I got the Rowdy Burger. We were both pleased. I loved their thick slice bacon on the burger on the BLT my wife let me finish. My burger was thick & juicy, not dry at all. Everything was fresh & cooked perfectly. The kids got chicken fingers & grilled cheese which were a step up from most kids menus. They had a few beers on tap, nothing amazing but definitely solid. The bar area looked like it'd be a great time during busier months. Only one TV for sports but it wasn't busy at all when we went. If you want upscale pub food in a cozy atmosphere without all the pretension of the Hamptons I'd definitely recommend Rowdy Hall. And the bill wasn't astronomical for lunch! . read more

Went there tonight with my wife for dinner. I took a star off for the service. The moment we arrived we were met with attitude from the the desk when you walk in. Told it was a 20 minute wait for a half empty restaurant. Then when I gave my name, a table magically was available. When we sat, we ordered drinks, when the drinks came, ordered dinner. That is when things got bad. The food arrived and we asked the manager, who delivered our food, for another round of drinks. The waiter was MIA and never came back to our table until we called him over to ask where our drinks were. He said the bar was busy and ran away. Meanwhile our food was getting cold so we began eating. No drinks. By the time we finished half our food, the manager then said the bar was busy. We finished our food and still no drinks. Finally, after about 40 minutes, the manager brought the drinks. He said that if we didn't want them, he would throw them out. Very poor management skills. Instead of apologizing and comping the drinks, he said he would throw them out. I told him to toss them. He left and we had to ask a waitress who did not wait on us for the check. An East Hampton staple. Relatively affordable lunch/dinner, accommodating service, great fresh fish & chips. (Also the lemon aioli with the steamed artichoke is terrific -- I have tried to recreate it at home to no avail.) Lively & fun & a good place for children, should you be encumbered by children. The lunch menu is a little more extensive than the dinner menu, and they won't serve lunch items at dinner. The bartenders are friendly & engaging -- it's nice to have someone chit chat with you while you wait, or if you're having dinner at the bar alone. I find most of the bartenders of the Hamptons friendly & engaging, but they're particularly nice here, and they make an excellent Manhattan. Rowdy Hall is an upscale tavern-type place. It had a neat vibe, almost like a European pub. There's a small bar, with about 10 seats and 2 TVs. They have a few tables outside for nice weather dining. Its not the easiest to find if you don't know where it is. Its on the east bound side of main street, down a short alley next to London Jewelers. The burgers and wings are very good. Its usually the place I stop at before or after a movie, since the theater is right down the street. Service has always been good here. In season, super crowded, like most other places in East Hampton. Off season, a relaxing place to have a beer and wings while watching the game. read more
