I have seen Josh a total of 3 times. He has a great personality and makes you feel comfortable. I have to say I consider myself a low maintenance girl when it comes to my hair....I dye my own roots to hide the grays and my first visit with Josh was for a haircut. He did a great job, I received several compliments on it. He takes his time with his work and makes sure it's perfect. The second time I saw him was because I wanted a new refreshed look and opted for color and cut. I was super nervous about the color...like I said I don't do much to my hair. I have BLACK hair and Josh lightened my hair giving me a gradual fade ...I think it's called a balyage. I walked out of the salon with an uneasy feeling because I thought my hair was too light at the ends. I mentioned it to Josh and he said to give it a day or two and if I decided to tone it down it wouldn't be a problem. I agreed to test drive the new look LOL but still called in the very next day. I scheduled a new apt. with Josh and he took great care of me once again. He toned it down and I was out of there in less than 30. I appreciate his professionalism and care with my hair. I have been going to Salon Roux for several years. Due to my job and traveling I had to have my hair done elsewhere for a few months. I couldn't wait to go back to Salon Roux. I feel everyone there is fantastic. I see Chris, he is amazing with color...amazing. I have thin hair, and not much of it. He has helped my hair look full, I get lots of compliments on my cuts and color. He offers suggestions but always will do what you want. He is extremely talented! I used to stick to the same old cut and color but have made some changes and am so glad I did. I'm middle aged and don't want to look hum drum. He won't allow that! Ha ha! Also, if you want a fantastic bikini wax, go see Amy. She specializes in Brazilian waxes. She is the best I've ever had. She is fast and seriously there is little discomfort! Jacque the owner is sincere and wants you to have a wonderful experience. She's an amazing person. She is all about satisfaction and quality. I think all of their employees are excellent. When you go there, look for Bri!! She is the best stylist!!! I met her a few years ago through friends at an event, and I heard someone commenting that she was the best stylist. Then of course, I booked an appt with her and I have been a faithful costumer for a few years now! I have long, curly hair that gets dry at the ends... She has been doing my highlights and I ALWAYS get comments on them! I just recently cut my bangs with her and I'm quoting my husband's comment "this is my favorite hair cut on you since we've met!!" This is a very good salon. Very professional. I have never once had a bad experience here. They have many items to browse through while you wait and their product shelves are always stocked. Receptionists are also top par and ALWAYS friendly. Everyone here who has ever done my hair... I have never had a complaint. I mainly would go to Lauren. She is very good and very patient as I have been VERY picky with my hair in the past (been getting better about that haha) and she has always put up with me. She always took the time to listen to what I told her and I was always very satisfied and impressed in the end. Good job Lauren! I would definitely recommend her as the most compliments i have ever gotten on my hair are from things that she has done to it. I actually started coming here a while after my mom did and decided that I was sick of walk-in chain salons. Boy am I glad to have made that decision. My mom also used to like going here when it was L'image in atascadero. She just doesn't go here anymore because the commute doesn't work for her. She used to see Chris and was, I believe, very happy with his work a lot of time. Also, props to Kelley for hooking me up with my prom hair and getting me in at the last moment. Turned out so good! Finding myself on an extended out of town trip and needing a haircut, a friend suggested to me that I try Salon Roux. What a marvelous experience!!! I was first impressed by the inviting ambiance. Beautifully decorated with a high-end feel and paired with a warm and wonderful staff, making this beautiful salon pleasant and inviting. I was lucky enough to have Margaret tend to my jumbled locks and although I was a little apprehensive at first in regard to her "restyling" suggestions, her calm and professional demeanor won me over. WOW!! I am a totally new person! I get compliments all the time!! I am so blown away by how much I love my new hairstyle that I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Margaret also understanding that I was pressed for time did her best to get me in and out but she did not rush and was so pleasant. The owner was at the front desk when I was leaving and engaged me in very pleasant conversation as well. Everyone greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel so welcomed. Thank you Salon Roux! If you need a hair cut, look for BRI! She is the best!!! My sister introduced me to her a while ago, her work is amazing! I live in BC, Canada and go to California ever six months to visit my family and Bri, of course! She is the only one who touches my hair since I met her. When I sit on the chair I say: my hair is all your, I trust you! She knows exactly what to do, especially because my hair is not an easy one, I have lots of it. After I have my hair cut with her, it feels so much lighter! Besides that, she is the sweetest girl, I love talking to her about everything while she's doing my hair. read more

If you have a child with you don't even think about walking through the door!! I had a 45 minute appointment in a private room and brought my 7 year old son with me. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would send the salon into a state of utter (and rude) panic over walking through the door with a nearly silent, extremely well mannered, occupied with an ipad 7 year old who has spent most of his life being quiet in the corner at things I have had to drag him to. I had to have someone come and pick my son up from the salon immediately. Mind you the only person he could have ever bothered in the private room was me and I am the one that elected to bring him!!! I had to hear over and over again it was just against salon policy to allow a child in the salon. I will NEVER set foot back in there again!! read more

I am so pleased to write this review. I had nothing but excellent service from start to finish. First when I called, the lady I spoke with was such a breath of fresh air! Customer service yay! She knew what she was talking about, asked questions, was professional and courteous, things you don't hear anymore! Second when I walked in the owner introduced herself immediately and offered me a drink of iced tea, she was personable, walked me around and explained everything, and just a pleasureto be around. I have searched for 4 years to find a person who can do even a decent job on highlights and a cut on the central coast, and Salon Roux is absolutely the best. Chris is amazing with cut and color, and everyone has been extremely accommodating and understanding with my very busy work schedule. This is a long overdue review... The team at Salon Roux is amazing! I have been going to Cinamon and Ashley for the past few years. Though I moved out of the area a number of years ago, I still make the 3.5 hour drive to Salon Roux. Ashley always does an awesome job on my super long hair, and will try and fit her schedule around my somewhat last minute requests. Cinamon has been styling my hair for over ten years now. She has fixed my multiple coloring mistakes (note to self- highlighting your own hair is never a good idea) with skill and care. I went to Amy for my first Brazilian yesterday and let me say, I HIGHLY recommend seeing her for this service! She was very professional, put my nerves at ease, and was very quick! I was in and out in about 15 minutes. The results are amazing as well! Ladies, don't put off this service because you are nervous/afraid of the pain! I cannot be happier I went to Amy!
