22 hours ago NEW I scheduled my appointment four days in advance. The day of my appointment, I woke up to multiple texts and a voicemail from the stylist, Callie. Callie said that she had a cancellation earlier in the day and wanted me to come in at 1:30 instead of 3:30. She said that she could still do 3:30 if I preferred. When I said no, I can't come in earlier than 3:30 she said that it's not going to work today due to a "scheduling conflict" and actually tried to blame me, saying that she made many attempts to get ahold of me sooner while I was asleep. She did not offer to reschedule. Again, I scheduled 4 days in advance online AND had to give them my credit card number in order to secure my appointment. I'm sorry to ruin the 5 star rating since my old babysitter is the owner but this lack of professionalism is inexcusable. read more

I always look forward to my appointments at Riley Rose. Their ambiance is just cheerful and relaxing at the same time. The business is always clean and it's so nice to be offered coffee or tea while you wait for your awesome hair experience. When I need my hair dyed, highlighted or cut I always see Cassie, she is the owner. She is just the kindest person, but beyond her awesome personality her talent with color is superb! I have dark hair and I like to get subtle highlights which Cassie gets right everytime even though I worry about them turning brassy she knows exactly what to do to keep them looking great! My most recent visit was a fearful one because I had lost an extreme amount of hair after having Covid. Cassie was very comforting and helped me feel at ease with cutting my hair short... I was scared that I would hate it. I ended up loving the short hair look! At times when my gray hair has not taken the color well she has made sure to correct it and never made me feel awkward or pay extra. To note that this has only happened one time in the several years of seeing Cassie. You will not be disappointed! There is so much talent in this business! read more

This is a newer salon in Atascadero, but it is loaded with experienced hairstylists, a spray tanning artist and more. It is clean, modern, and the girls working in there are super friendly and welcoming. It is located right off the 41 in Atascadero. Park in the back, and walk to the front. I like that you can go here and get most of your self-care to-dos checked off in one visit. :) read more

Decided to try this place on a whim since it's fairly close to my house and I am so glad I did. Made an online appointment for the next available stylist and was happily paired with Callie. She was amazing. She not only listened to exactly what I was looking for but helped guide me looking for the perfect color. She also fixed an at-home cut that is now beautiful. My cut and color are gorgeous and will be returning. The owner was also there and the whole salon had a fantastic vibe. I've tried the popular places in SLO and one other in Atascadero and my experience (and end result) here far surpassed. Prices are also incredibly reasonable. read more

Cassie has an incredible talent with color services. I'm incredibly picky and even after 15 years in Orange County trying stylists from across the entire OC I was never happy with my highlighting services. I never imagined that upon returning home to our sleepy SLO county I would find such a hair stylist so gifted with color! Cassie not only had blond highlight color/blending/distribution on point in our first session but she also did the most amazing job at placing highlights to soften any harsh lines as my hair grows. Super disappointed in Cassie. About four weeks ago I called several times. Left a couple messages. Never got a call back. I should have taken that as a clue and moved on, but being new to Atascadero, I wanted to give her a chance since she has such glowing reviews. I stopped by the salon to find it closed and locked, thinking maybe I can talk to a receptionist or anyone that could help set me up with an appointment. After all those attempts, I left a question here on yelp asking how to get a hold of this salon. Cassie finally took notice and responded and asked me to text the same business # listed here. No response to my first text. I was about to give up but she offered me an appointment for over three weeks later, after I sent her pics of my current hair and inspiration photo. That appointment was today @11:30. I show up a bit early only to be told she is not there and she supposedly called and texted me to notify me of the cancelled appointment. Which was odd because I did not get any of that. After I didn't get an answer from her about what number she called, I knew she was lying. So long story short: unprofessional and a lie.
