I was a regular at the 9's for a while and only stopped being a regular due to obtaining a job out of town and it made it hard to book with my favorite stylist. The shop is great, in the heart of Templeton, has a great vibe, it's clean, and all of the stylists are top notch. So why not give a 5-star rating? 1) They don't have online booking. 2) They don't have a front desk person to answer calls or make regular call backs for voicemails. 3) In 2019 they don't have a website...(check out Squarespace guys!) 4) They don't do a good job returning calls (if at all). 5) They seem to rely on the stylists to cover answering the phones while they are there and it is obvious they feel inconvenienced because they are trying to do their job and having this interruption doesn't sit well (which is totally understandable!) and it is obvious from the tone in their voice. Still love the 9's but fixing even just one of the above would add another star for me. TY! read more

After years of struggling to find a barber or hair stylist whose skills and appointment setting process fit my needs and busy schedule, I've found the right place. It was easy to get an appointment, the salon is very well equipped, the staff was very friendly, helpful and my stylist Kelly was able to tame my multiple cow licks and ultra wavy hair on the first visit. The test of a great stylist is how your haircut looks several weeks later. It's been three weeks and it still looks great and is easy to style each day. Very important factors for me. read more

Horrible experience. I am in my 60s and have lived all over the U.S. and have had many, many stylists. I was treated very rudely today by Kasey at this salon. I have been visiting throughout the last year to the Central Coast and looking for a salon for my regular visits. I was bringing my color with me along with the formula used by my colorist. My regular person tweaked my formula 4 weeks agin and I brought the color with me in case I liked the change. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it so for the last 4 weeks tried it out. I was jumped on because I did not inform her ahead of time that the formula changed. As I was bringing my own color products with me and paying my out of state colorist for the these products, I had asked if Casey could order my color. This was prior to the tweak. I was paying my colorist and Casey was not discounting my service, so I thought it only fair she would order the color. I felt it was also more fair to my out of state colorist not to have to buy the color. I called her after I left the salon as it was so upsetting. She told me unused color can be returned, but I was greeted rudely over it. I was told by her that I was only thinking of myself and I can't understand that comment. She told me there are plenty of other salons I can go to. I was paying for a full service, yet supplying color every time I came. In front of other customers she was berating me. I couldn't wait to leave and will never recommend her to anyone looking for a salon. I work for a major corporation where customer service is number one. She has no concept of what that is. There are so many other ways she could have handled this, but she chose to be rude and quite frankly mean. I will make sure to warn anyone thinking of using this salon to beware or at least not use Kasey. read more

Not only did Ashley do a wonderful job brightening my blonde highlights and making them look natural... But she also respected my wishes to grow my hair or and only trimmed and shaped what was necessary! On top of all that- she's not a flake! I have been going to Kasey for hair and Sue for brows since just after The 9's opened. Sue is the best esthetician I have ever gone to. Waxing is close to pain-free and she always applies a soothing product, tinted moisturizer, and sunscreen to protect my skin afterward. I also went to her for a facial once and it was fantastic. I go to Kasey for cut and highlights - she is amazing at both, I have never had such great color! She is attentive and always has great suggestions for changing things up OR maintaining a look. Ashley's cuts and colors are amazing and if that doesn't keep you coming back to her chair, her personality will. My boss has blonde hair and Ashley does a great job coloring and highlighting it so that it looks natural and beautiful and the best part is her hair is very curly and Ashley knows how to cut curly hair! I just had one of the best hair salon appointments I have ever had! This was my first time at the 9s in Templeton. The girls were welcoming and friendly and I immediately let go of the anxiety I sometimes feel when going into a new salon. (I'm up in my 70s). My stylist was Kasey who warmly welcomed me and thanked me for choosing her. I needed a lot of help and advice with my hair and she really knew her stuff, explaining how different styles would work with my hair type, and which brushes to use when blowing it dry and lots of other useful information. The cut and blow dry she gave me were outstanding and will be easy for me to do myself. I couldn't have been happier with her work and I will go back and I highly recommend Kasey. I couldn't be happier with my balayage treatment and hair cut from Nonee! I wanted to keep my hair color but lighten it up to what it used to be when I was younger, and Nonee did a great job making it look naturally lighter. Growing up on the central coast kept my hair constantly light from the sun, but I moved to VA a few years ago and it gets very dark over the winter. Balayage lightened it up perfectly for the next few winter months when I go back.
