Brushed is a full-service salon and spa that caters to one's needs from head to toe. My husband and I are frequent visitors to Paso Robles, it is a magical place. This time, my sweet Bill surprised me with a romantic weekend. Nothing but relaxation and spas, it was wonderful. As part of my weekend, I decided I wanted to freshen up my hair, give it a little shine and pamper myself; but as we all know, that is easier said than done, especially if you don't have an appointment. Enter in Brushed Salon and Day Spa, specifically, Wil Barnes, now my favorite hairstylist! Even though I was a walk in and had never been to the salon before, Wil made me feel right at home. Wil listened to what I wanted and made some good suggestions. He did not rush me and checked in several times throughout the process to make sure I was getting what I wanted. When he was done, my hair looked and felt great, and it has stayed that way for some time now! Wil is an amazing stylist and I plan on making time for him and hope he can make time for me when we come back to this lovely town. He mentioned he is new in town, but when word gets out about what a great job he is doing, I know he will have more clients than he can handle. read more

I read the reviews on Yelp and decided that I would go to Brushed to make a big change to my hair. I went in to make an appointment and was able to speak with Kailee and we discussed what I wanted to do. I had black dyed hair that I did myself for several years. The crown of my head is white/gray and was becoming a hassle to keep up with the roots. I wanted to go blonde to ease my transition to letting my gray grow out. I suggested that I knew this would take several appointments to get to where I wanted to be. The assurance from Kailee & shop manager Barbara that this was doable and set my 1st appointment. My hair was shoulder length and very healthy. Kailee was a new stylist and was unsure of how to begin. She consulted with Nikki (shop owner) via texting. I was satisfied with the progress of my 1st appointment. 2nd appointment 6days later. Kailee was very distracted and very upset(personal problems, she disappeared for 20 minutes before we even started and then again leaving me under the dryer unchecked in a bleach soap cap for 30 minutes)However, Nikki the shop owner was in her station behind us. She was really directing the entire process. About an hour in I realized that things were going very wrong. My hair was burning enough that I could smell it. I resigned myself to the fact that my hair was going to be badly damaged and I was going to be nowhere near the direction I wanted to go. This was a learning appointment for Kailee. It cost me 6 hours 300$ and destroyed hair. I called twice to give Brushed an opportunity to make an effort to correct this terrible situation. I was told the basically that this was my fault because of what I wanted to do. That Kailee was no longer working there and was an independent contractor so therefore not their problem. And that if I wanted to make an appointment they would do that in 6 weeks! I have included pictures. read more

I had a great experience with Kim Simoulis. It had been a while since I had my hair cut and colored. I decided to start new. I called the salon and ended up talking to Kim. She is super nice and was very easy to talk to about the current situation with my hair. I decided to first get my first haircut in 9 months. I felt so good afterwards. I then went back and she put color in my hair and it came out great. I feel back to my old self now. It's amazing what a little cut and color can do for your self esteem. This salon is tucked away in a grocery plaza but don't let that deter you. Once you step inside, it's like a luxurious transformation into another world of happiness. I came in for a 60 min massage with Becky and it was phenomenal. She had the best pressure and kept checking in with me to make sure she wasn't going too hard or too soft. I had some intense muscle tightness and she loosened them many of them, I definitely need to go back for more. Becky was professional, kind and attentive. Becky is amazing. I've had a lot of massages in my life and she is truly one of the best. She worked on my problem areas for just the right amount of time while still leaving plenty of time to pamper the rest of my body. Her foot massage is soo good too! The room was just the right amount of darkness for total relaxation. She even recommended that I see a chiropractor for one of my troubled areas because I had a rib that was out. Sure enough, she was right! She even incorporated hot stones for me free of a charge just for being a first time client (normally a $10 charge). Hands down recommend Becky. Jen B. does my hair every month and my hair has never looked better and healthier! Gina C. does my facials and waxing. The transformation of my skin is nothing short of amazing! Sara R. is a nail tech and I have just started to see her for my manicures and love her! Barb is always at the front desk and welcomes me by name and with a smile every time. Becky has given me a massage in the past and was a lifesaver when I was in serious pain. Unfortunately, I don't treat myself to a massage as often as I would like, but I know who to go to when I do. The owner, Nikki (sp? sorry) has a beautiful salon with a huge selection of clothes, accessories, and products, which all of these ladies are very knowledgeable with, and which products are best for me. I am very fortunate to have found a salon where I can have all of my beauty treatments done in one location. These women are great at what they do, professional, and accommodating when I need to reschedule. I have referred many girlfriends to them and they were all pleased to find a new salon to go to. I went into the salon in December and wanted to get my hair styled before a trip and booked an appointment with her (last second).
