The main seating…read morearea is actually downstairs - there is one room that my friend calls the "cave" room, it opens up to an actual mine that was used. So if you like those Raiders of the Lost Ark vibes, then you would like sitting next to the mine for sure. It's roped off but you can hear the water dripping and it is naturally cool. The structure was originally built as a hotel in 1853 and has been well preserved. I ordered their Smith Flat House salad ($10) and the Jambalaya Risotto ($34) which consisted of Cajun-marinated prawns, lobster meat, Andouille sausage, grilled sweet corn with saffron chicken risotto. Definitely had a bit of a kick to it, the risotto was done well. My pet peeve is mushy risotto, it needs to have a slight bite to it which this one had thankfully. Love the fact that this place serves up local wines -- I couldn't recall the wine I had and they do not have their wine menu on their website. If you have the opportunity to visit, I'd recommend a glass of red from Starfield (winery up the road).

While enjoying a meal with friends, I ordered a full iced margarita, only for the bottom of the glass to suddenly detach and spill its full sticky contents all over me and side seated companions. Not only did this ruin our shoes, leave us wet and sticky but it startled all of us and completely disrupted our meal. When I brought this to the attention of the management, I was met with a dismissive attitude. They simply shrugged it off, saying, "this happens," and refused to offer any form of compensation or even an apology. They mentioned that they had witnessed similar incidents with two other glasses, suggesting that the issue might be tied to the glasses coming out hot from the dishwasher and then being placed directly on ice. Instead of addressing my concerns seriously, the staff made light of the situation, which felt incredibly rude and unprofessional. It was disappointing to see such a lack of care for customer experience. I expected better from a restaurant and found it rather disturbing that even the waitress was afraid to bring it up to the owner telling us that he was extremely scary and would likely fire her for this if he was disrupted from making pizzas in the back. Furthermore, a few of my friends at the table also heard that the owner is really unprofessional and rude. It's unlikely any of us are I'll tell you in a will return, and I would advise others to exercise caution when ordering drinks here. A simple acknowledgment and willingness to rectify the situation could have made a significant difference in our experience. It's a shame that a fun night out was overshadowed by such poor management. Go elsewhere.

A Local Gem That Never Misses!…read more This review is long overdue. From the first bite, I knew I had to tell everyone about how epic Gold Pan Pizza is. Seriously, this is the best pizza in Shingle Springs--well, in El Dorado County actually. Every bite delivers that perfect blend of gooey cheese, bold flavor, and just the right crispy edge. It's the kind of pizza that makes you slow down, savor every second, and regret that you didn't order a larger size. Each time I get food here, I have to stop in my tracks and go into a deep place of reflection and gratitude for being alive in this moment to enjoy the epicness I'm savoring. It's so good I don't want to share. The crust is crisp with just the right amount of cheese and toppings. The flavors are balanced, fresh, and satisfying. My go to, hands down, is the White Rock. I keep telling myself I'll switch up the rotation and try something different, but I can't, White Rock has stolen my heart. Don't even get me started on the garlic twist cheesy bread. It's crisp on the outside and melty on the inside with the perfect amount of garlic. DIVINE!!! Huge shoutout to Ivan, whose skill and dedication come through in every bite. This is food made with real care and craftsmanship. Support this incredible local family business. They truly deserve it!!

Been in business for over 30 years and still going strong. The pizza is good ole fashion style pizza. Oven baked. Tasty, fluffy crust. Nice ooey gooey cheese stretch. Consistently prepared. I've never had a bad pie from them. Other menu items are chicken wings, salads, sandwiches, and pasta. Gluten free pizza crust is also an option. The interior is basic, very basic. There is little to no ambiance; if there is, it's focused on providing a clean and comfortable dine-in environment to enjoy your food. No flashy IG backdrops. Welcoming vibes though for sure.

The food is outstanding, but what really sets them apart is the level of service. Honestly some of the best I have experienced anywhere. I walked in about 20 minutes before closing, which most places would not be thrilled about, and they welcomed me without hesitation. No attitude, no rushing, just genuine hospitality. While I was waiting for my pizza, someone, possibly the owner, came over and told me they had accidentally dropped my pizza in the oven and it did not look great. He said there was nothing wrong with it, but because of how it looked, they were going to give it to me for free on top of the new pizza they were making. That alone says everything about their standards and integrity. It did not stop there. I had also grabbed the last piece of tiramisu, and before I left, he handed me a coupon for a free tiramisu next time. That is not normal service. That is above and beyond. The pizza itself was incredible. Unique combinations, bold flavors, and clearly made with care. The tiramisu was just as good. Rich, balanced, and the perfect finish. This place is the real deal. The nachos here were different, but really fun and flavorful. They use kettle chips and put a kitchen sink of toppings on it. It's creamy, spicy, and the meat on it is very tender. Lunch for our party: *BALSAMIC BRUSSELS SPROUTS *MIXED GREENS SALAD WITH BLACKENED SALMON *GRILLED LAMB CHOPS *KID'S CHICKEN TENDERS WITH VEGGIES Food was pretty good. The lamb chops were exceptional and although the blackened salmon didn't taste or look so delicious, I appreciated it not being overcooked. The chicken tenders were a nice golden brown and was not over battered and the medley of fresh veggies were really good. The balsamic brussels were good in size but the flavoring wasn't the best. All in all, the food was enjoyed. The one mishap that stood out was with Tessa H. forgetting my toddler's drink. We were half way through our meal when I realized nothing had been brought out to us even after the drink order had been taken. We flagged her down and let her know but ended up having to remind her 2 additional times before receiving the drink.
