I drive by this place a ton of times. Kinda forgetting that Pizza Plus is tucked inside a small shopping complex on Missouri Flat Road, south of Highway 50, in Placerville. The pizzas are pretty darn good. The pizzas are oven baked with fresh, quality fixings. Mmm. Simple, classic pizzas done right. The staff are the best. Friendly, helpful. The pizza is great, but the ambience of the place is kind of like a garage. The wine selection is basically red or white with no name.

I have to say, I have come to find that where I live there's just not a lot of great food. Thank goodness I like to cook, and my family loves my cooking because Placerville/Camino/Pollock Pines is really lacking in high-quality, exceptional restaurants. I will say however, that this pizza place can hold its own for sure. It's kind of a basic pizza spot but the crust is what makes them stand out in my opinion. I think they are definitely one of the better pizza spots in Placerville. They seem very Mom and pop which we appreciate as well. read more

Over el dorado hills and through apple hill to pizza plus we go! And we went big trying many different pizzas! Walking into this establishment you could immediately tell it was family owned and built with love. There is literally a photo of the owners daughter on the wall! The pizza came out quick and was fantastic! I kept going back for another slice which is how you know it is good! Pizza plus is my favorite pizza by far. The chicken and onion with white sauce is my family's favorite.

The ingredients are top quality from the cheese and the sauce to the pineapples and Canadian bacon. Pepperoni is a medium thickness with excellent flavor and generous portions. We all enjoyed this pizza and are definitely coming back. The place was clean the salad bar looked fresh with lots of ingredients (we did not have any on this visit). The timing was what you'd expect 25 minutes for a couple of Giant pizzas. This was Labor Day 2021 and not very busy, likely due to fires. Prices are average and actually I would say below what I would expect for the quality. $24 for giant 2 topping pizzas. read more

Six months later and Pizza Plus continues to be our go to spot for Pizza. We live in EDH and don't blink an eye at the 19 mile drive up Highway 50. It's easy to phone it in when it comes to pizza and for some odd reason, a challenge to get it right - which these guys do in spades. I felt compelled to update my review after realizing that I've been sitting at my desk craving a large 'Super Plus' from Pizza Plus and wondering if they're open in the wake of the epic snowfall dumped along the Highway 50 corridor (Just called - they are!). Tried to give them another shot after being served multiple undercooked pizzas, or pizzas lazily put together with thin patches of dough and thick pockets of sauce. Called in an order and was told 25 minute wait, only to show up to the business closed an hour before their posted hours. It's pretty hard to directly support a small business when the teenagers running it decide to shut down early so they can smoke weed in the back. I tried calling twice, and they only called me back after I asked an employee doing a trash run what was going on. They claimed they "lost" my ticket and didn't make the order while holding back laughter. Extremely rude and mocked me from inside the window for about 5 minutes while I tried to figure out new dinner plans from my car. If you like being mocked by a bunch of teenagers and screwed over on your dinner plans then I guess this is the place to go. read more

Not only was 2 pizzas and drink that they said $49.99 then they tack on without telling you almost $2 fee on top of it for using debit card. And then, our pizzas were cold(I picked it up within 30 min of ordering-they said ready in 25 min), the gluten free crust they charge you $5.75 more for not a fresh made crust, a pre made flat crust. Most pizza places are 2.50-$3 more for gluten free for the same GF crust. My husband couldn't even eat his non-gf chicken garlic pizza, I had to take a bite to see why, and it was soggy in middle, cold and an after taste. Completely disappointed. Started with an order of breadsticks and they were amazing. We would have been totally content with those but then the pizza came. The crust was crispy and toppings were fresh. The beer mugs were frosted with ice and the beer was cold! We were too late for the salad bar but it looked pretty good. If you want cute decor and fancy plates, then this isn't for you. I took a few young men here from our church to eat and I would say the pizza is good but it does not have that - way over the top taste. I order the combination and though the pizza was good the crust was a bit to soggy for liking. I found the service to be great and I think the breadsticks are off the hook. The salad bar is well stocked but I just did not think the pizza had a flavor that would grab you.
