My husband and I love Round Table. Especially those night you just don't feel like cooking! Yes, it's a little more expensive than the alternative, but sooo good (most of the time)! I usually order online for pickup on my way home from work. The restaurant has never really seemed too busy when I get there around 5:30-6ish so there has been very little wait time and my order is usually always ready on time, based on my requested pick up time. My interaction with the staff has been minimal but usually always pleasant. The reason for a star deduction, however, is for 2 things: 1) When you pick up an order to go, I'd figure they would provide/offer plates, napkins, cheese and pepper packets... at least other locations I've been to usually ask you. Here, it seems you usually have to ask. They have also been out a couple of times. 2) It's hit or miss, but a few times we felt our pizza may have been shorted a bit on some toppings. Most recently we ordered a half Hawaiian (extra ham & pineapple) half King Arthur's Supreme (no Italian sausage). There was maybe 1 piece of ham on each slice considering we asked for extra and the veggies on the KAS looked a bit skimpy. Nevertheless it still tasted great. On a side note, this may just be a flaw with the company's online ordering system (not necessarily the location) BUT kinda sucks that when you order one of their specialty pizzas but want to remove an included topping and substitute it for a different one, they still charge you an extra topping fee even though its the same number of toppings that would have already been on the pizza. All of the toppings are charged at the same price so it's not like it's an upcharge for a premium topping so why the extra charge!? read more

Upon entering this place I began having flashbacks of my previous employment where I was required to enter and inspect disgusting tweaker/hoarder homes. The smell that hits you in the face is just one of complete lack of sanitation. There is years of grime ground into the green carpet that is now black in some areas. The floor around the salad bar probably hasn't been cleaned in months (see pic). That being said, the sole reason for the two stars is that the staff was very friendly and the pizza tasted like any other pizza from a RoundTable. So I bought a medium Maui Zaui. And everything was fine until I got home. Yeah I dropped it. So I went back to Round Table and they were most gracious. They made another one for me at half price. That's when it got not so good. I waited 30-45 minutes for the original pie. I waited an hour for the replacement. While I appreciate the 1/2 price deal. It was only until I canceled the second order that I was presented with the pizza. Not bueno. I realize I screwed up. And I was willing to pay for the replacement full charge. BUT how about fixing your delivery ordering system. The last 5 times I've ordered online or calling in you've got my order extremely wrong. I've lived in Marina since 2003. I love Round Table, but will drive 6 miles to Seaside because the pizza taste better, but more importantly because of the better service. I've had numerous bad experiences with the Marina location unless you eat there with a large group. Tonight, I spent almost 15 minutes total time on hold after I had to call several times. I kept being put on hold without an opportunity to even say a word. When I finally got thru, I was told it would be a hour for pick-up. I didn't feel like driving to Seaside, so I called my go to Marina pizza place - Mountain Mikes. My call was answered on the 3rd ring, and my pizza was ready in 20 minutes. So I'll be the first person to admit that Round Table Pizza is delicious. I can't think of a time when I've eaten their pizza and it hasn't been exactly what you want a pizza to be, but after one particular experience with this Round Table, I will never go back. HSH Leopold's review of Round Table couldn't be more obstinately off base. I don't know what other Round Tables he's been to, but they're all on the pricier end of the pizza spectrum. Please afford me the opportunity to ask you this: Have you seen the prices at the Round Table on Alvarado St. in Monterey? My guess is no. You haven't seen absurdly high prices until you've been there. Additionally, you may want to utilize the coupons that are always given in the Monterey Herald or provided to you during delivery. This helps immensely with the costs, you know, since they're so high and everything. Anyway, this Round Table Pizza is fine. The prices are right in line (with exception of Alvarado) with other Round Tables with their Lunch Buffet only being $6.99. There is nothing wrong with a $6.99 lunch buffet, you can't find a better price for that anywhere. The staff has been nothing but amicable and forthcoming with me. This might have a lot to do with the fact that I've been coming here for years, but that's neither here nor there. I would recommend this establishment to anyone! BTW, this is a family establishment. I stopped by at this location for a staff brunch situation. It was for work so no I did not volunteer to have lunch here, just fyi. I was paid to be here ;) They were serving their pizza buffet situation that happens there. I waited for ever to get some cheese pizza and that never came out. They had a few other options that I did not try but I believe one of them was a bacon topped pizza? I did try their bread sticks and they were good once you got over their greasiness. I ordered delivery for a one large two toppings pizza with cinnamon twist on the side!! Definitely worth every penny!! It was delicious, fully cooked, and served to perfection! The driver seemed like a chill guy, but the food was amazing! I ordered on a tuesday, midday, and was shocked on the quality of my order! I just wish i would have taken a picture...oops. The only reason for a star deduction is price. $30. But now that i think about it, its worth the money. Don't come here expecting a real restaurant experience. We have real restaurants in Marina, guys, and they're about the same price as this place so there's no reason to dip to this level. Yes, Round Table, for their normal pizzas, is a total rip off. I get their coupons at least once a month, and it's still not a good deal. I mean, Mountain Mike's is pretty comparable in terms of price, but Mountain Mike's pizza is also passable. Come for the weekday lunch buffet. $7 if you ignore the soda upsell attempt. The salad bar is pretty solid and the greens have been pretty fresh when I've gone. The pizza is, again, pretty bad, but that just pushes you back to the salad bar. They have free wifi, decent beer on tap (for all you alcoholics who drink at lunch) and TVs with sports. They have a sort of back room where no one ever seems to sit, if you want to shamefully drink your lunch beer in privacy. Compared to Mountain Mike's equivalent lunch buffet, the salad bar quality and selection here is far superior but the pizza quality there is higher. So you can make your choice on that. You can't really "win" with low-end pizza chains, so it's really just a matter of who you settle with. read more

Worst Round Table Pizza ever.. I ordered a large pepperoni to be delivered. They told me a large pizza was not enough for the minimum order for delivery? So I added extra pepperoni still not enough I added extra sauce and it met the minimum. I was given a price of $21 and change. When the pizza arrived it was $5 more than that they charged a $5 delivery charge.. which made the Round Table Pizza a few dollars more than a large pepperoni from the other Pizza chain in town. This Round Table Pizza does not put any sauce on their pizzas can't even see it let alone taste it. It's the same every time. They are very stingy with this pizza sauce even when I order extra you still get less than a normal amount. In fact they skimp on all the ingredients. I am stunned at the low reviews for this particular location. This Round Table off of Del Monte has always been a favorite of mine even when juxtaposed against other higher end pizza joints like Pieology or Blaze. It naturally may not possess the same aesthetic as those other businesses, but the sauce is rich and full of flavor and the pizzas have been wonderfully prepared in all my experiences here. Love round table, just not this location. Been here twice in the past month, first time dining in, second time for delivery yesterday afternoon and I won't be going back to this property. First trip, waited at the register for about 5 minutes before even being acknowledged while all employees including the manager at the time fooled around behind the counter. We finally ordered, waited 45 minutes for wings and a medium pizza before telling us they didn't have defrosted wings so it would take another 30 minutes. Okay stuff happens, 30 minutes passed and nothing. Another 45 minutes go by I decide to ask what's taking so long. Person behind the counter looks at me then looks behind her and said "oh no one told you it's been ready?" I can almost understand if the place was busy but we were the only 2 people waiting for an order so getting cold pizza and undercooked wings was not a great first impression. But I'm understanding so I chalked it up to a mistake and let it go. I placed an order for delivery the other night around 5:30, again for wings and a 2 topping pizza. ETA was apparently 6:15-6:25. 6:30 rolls around, I get a call thinking they couldn't find the house but they said they received the order except they can't fill it because they are out of the one out of two ingredients I wanted. I paid 5 bucks extra which is no big deal but any customer service job, you're supposed to offer a way to rectify the situation if there's a mistake on the business end. Which they did not. Despite confirming my order 5-10 minutes after the order should have actually been delivered, no one reached out to say it would be over an hour later than expected. Waited a total of an hour and 40 minutes for two items. I'm not one to leave poor reviews but this property needs some major work, I won't be returning to this site.
