Nice people working behind the counter, and the interior was clean with free WiFi. However, all three of our orders were messed up. Two of the sandwiches were made with the wrong kind of bread, and the last sandwich had extra condiments on them that we didn't ask for. I also noticed the bread on my sandwich wasn't quite stale, but just tasted a little old. This location does also have the Tastycakes, which a lot of location have discontinued. the sandwiches were phenomenal. The service on the other hand, couldn't say the same. the little guy in the front was so kind. however, everyone else is not. One girl threw the sandwich at me. And not to mention when I walked in with my family, they all turned and laughed at me. I saw laughter from every single worker. when I walked in, the place was clean, the ambience was nice. I've ordered from Jersey Mike's a number of times and the food has always been decent and the service friendly and enthusiastic. In fact the last time we were in I even commented to my husband how professional the staff was considering how young they were. If I were rating based on previous experiences I would have gladly rated 4 or 5 stars. Today though was a totally different story. Today the restaurant was quite understaffed which I totally understand having worked in the service industry myself. It happens and I was ready to wait a bit longer than usual for my sandwich. We waited in line and as the associate was wrapping up previous orders she asked ours. I ordered the #55 (a hot sandwich) - regular size. She acknowledged my order, but never handed me a ticket or took my name. I assumed she had it under control as she finished orders for the people in line in front of me. But then, she took the orders of the people in line behind me and started putting together their sandwiches. Since I had been waiting a bit and there was still nothing being cooked on the grill, I assumed she had forgotten my order and politely stepped up to ask. She asked for the name on the order and I mentioned she had never taken my name and repeated my previous order. She seemed annoyed that I had interrupted her process and her only response was that they were short staffed which was obvious. I waited a bit longer hoping she would at least start my order, but there was still no move to put anything on the grill and she was still taking the orders of people who came in after me. Honestly, I had an appointment and didn't have the time to wait much longer so although I just wanted to leave at this point I let her know that I could not wait any longer and needed to cancel my order. What got me was the complete lack of customer service. No apology for forgetting my order, no acknowledgement that I had even ordered, just nothing. Had she at least attempted to start my order, I would have been patient enough to wait. Customer service is so important and when a customer feels slighted they are unlikely to come back. So even though I've had great service in the past and actually liked the sandwiches quite a bit, today's visit soured my opinion and I doubt I'll be back anytime soon. Was in pacific grove shopping at Trader Joe's and stopped by to pick up lunch for the family, a Kids meal, a 55 and a 5 along with two chips. When I got back home to Monterey, all that was in the big bag was a 55, water chips and cookies. I was missing two of my sandwiches. I had to drive back to pacific grove to get my sandwiches which took me 40 minutes due to a tree being down. When I called ahead of time, they admitted that the two sandwiches were never made. I get the extended commute was not their fault, however I was given no apology or anything. In this case for me, forgetting those two sandwiches added over an hour to my day. This is a significant mistake that can cost people time. I probably should have been refunded or somthing. Won't be comming back. To top it off, neither of the sandwiches outside of the cheesesteak were made correctly. You would think if a customer called in and mentioned they were missing two sandwiches, you would make a point if making the sandwiches you failed to make the first time, correctly. My # 5 only had one kind of meat, not the three listed, and my daughters kids sandwich came with out lettuce and tomatoes. The food was good, however the man behind the counter made both myself and my girlfriend uncomfortable. When I went to place my order he told who I was assuming was a trainee the wrong thing and pressured her to pick up her speed. Instead of the regular I had requested, he made me the next size up and it wouldn't have been as big of a deal if he hadn't also dismissed my girlfriend as they requested to place their order under the same ticket. As someone who works in the service industry I understand making sure things are done in an efficient and quick manner, however, we could hear everything he was telling her and he would then turn to us and talk about himself completely unprompted. To top it off, this was my 30 minute break for the establishment next door and all I wanted was to sit down and eat, but he spent way too long talking to us even after I had dismissed the conversation and I had little to no time to eat before getting back to work. Boy, I really want to have Jersey Mike's as one of my regulars, I ordered 2 subs online close to 1pm (hopefully a little past lunch rush), the app said 15 or 20 minutes, showed up around 20 minutes later, and they were not ready for another 25 minutes! I had the hardest time finding the deli, knew they were in the Country Club shopping center because I read they had oped in a local publication and they have a sandwich board at Forest and David. I said to my wife I couldn't find this place and she said it's next to Starbucks. I really don't consider Starbucks in the Country Club Center.. I imagine people go in to the shopping center and can't see the Jersey Mikes and end up at Subways. You guys need better signage. My husband ordered two sandwiches online. When he went to pick it up there was only one sandwich in the bag. The person working there was completely confused and said he swore he had made two sandwiches. So my husband had to wait while he made the second sandwich. I ordered the turkey and provolone which is supposed to have turkey, provolone, oil blend, vinegar, oregano, onion, lettuce, and tomato. What I got was turkey, tomato, lettuce, and more mayonnaise than one person would ever want on a sandwich. Globs. I was missing the cheese, oil, vinegar, oregano, and onions. Incredible. We had always heard good things about Jersey Mike's Subs and when it opened in Pacific Grove, we headed over to try it. We were very happy with it! I had the Grilled Portabella and Swiss Sandwich with grilled onions and green peppers and it was fantastic! My husband ordered the Tuna Sub which he loved in a smaller size plus a Turkey Sub Jersey Mike style which he also enjoyed.
