I normally give a good review unless I received a blatent unapologetic service. I was waiting in a line of 4 people and I was next to be served so I thought. It is hard not to think it was an accident considering so few people in line. I was in line for 7 minutes and the two teenagers behind me and just cane in. The second and senior provider came feom the back and purposely ignored me and served the two teenagers. While doing so, smiled at me to let me know he was ignoring me. The younger attendee said in Spanish I was next and he ignored It. I guess this is what I should expect from this SUBWAY BECAUSE IT HAPPENED BEFORE. Last Friday morning before 9:00 AM (December 5, 2025), my colleague Lilya and I (Dan Wu) went to Subway #38947 at 26135 Camel Ranch Blvd, Suite D2B, Carmel Valley, CA 93923, phone 831-625-4087. We paid cash for two sandwiches (the daily meat special). I should have paid $21.72, but because I wasn't paying attention, I took one $20 bill from my wallet that was on top, and a $100 bill underneath it. I mistakenly handed the cashier (a woman) the $100 bill thinking it was a $20. The cashier gave me three $5 bills, one $1 bill, and some coins as change. I didn't realize that I had lost money that day. The next day (December 6), in the morning, Lilya and I went again to buy the daily special sandwiches. I paid cash again for two foot-longs and gave the cashier $25. The cashier gave me $1 in change. My colleague said that wasn't correct, so she went back to the cashier. Then the cashier gave an additional $4. When I got home and checked the cash in my wallet, I found that $100 was missing. I decided to go back to Subway to investigate because I hadn't gone anywhere else on those two days. On the third day (Sunday, December 7), in the morning, Lilya and I went to Subway again. We bought sandwiches and told the staff about the missing $100 and asked to review the security footage. The staff said he would tell the owner to check the footage and asked us to come back the next day for an update. On the fourth day (Monday, December 8), in the morning, Lilya and I went back to find the staff member who had promised to update us. He wasn't there. The same female cashier from Friday was there. We asked her about Friday's payment issue. She said she received two $20 bills and gave change accordingly. We asked again to review the camera footage. She said we had to wait for the owner to retrieve the footage because the surveillance could only be viewed at the owner's home. On the fifth day (Tuesday, December 9), in the morning, we went again to ask to see the footage. The staff told us to leave our phone number and said the owner would contact us. We waited all day but received no call. On the sixth day (Wednesday, December 10), in the morning, we went to the store again. The staff on duty happened to be the same female cashier from Friday. This time she said she remembered receiving a $100 bill that day and that it dropped on the floor. She said she first gave me $60 in change, accepted $40, then recalculated the price for two foot-long daily specials and gave me change again. Her two statements completely contradict each other. I requested again to check the surveillance footage. She then said they only keep 72 hours of surveillance video. We discovered this issue and reported it within the 72-hour window and repeatedly requested to review the footage. The staff said they would tell the owner because only the owner can access the footage. We went every day to ask to view it, but they always told us to come back the next day. Today, they suddenly said it's past 72 hours, meaning the footage can no longer be viewed. This is clearly a disputed matter. Why did the employees keep telling us to come back tomorrow, and only today tell us that the 72-hour window has passed? Are they trying to cover up the truth? read more

Living in Carmel area I frequented this location many times. I found the staff always to be friendly and very attentive to their customers. When not making sandwiches they are continually refilling the little tins of food items with fresh vegetables and meats. The tea containers are always full. The straws are always filled. Napkins never run out. The appearance inside and outside areas are always clean. .I always stick with the 6 inch sweet onion chicken teriyaki. It just can't be beat. I always get the shredded cheese toasted on top. Makes it more tasty. With just a little lettuce on top along with olives and banana peppers. I always get three sauces on top. The sweet onion topping and then I vary on the other two sauces, just to make it interesting. read more

Subway - Toasted everything on Whole wheat Tuna! - Sandwiches Near Me - Carmel, California

We always come here, starving, after spending a full day hiking at Point Lobos, a state park without food services. As far as I know this is the only fast food restaurant in Carmel, outside of Pebble Beach -and who wants to pay $10 just to go on the 17 mile drive to MacDs! And as they say in the Billy Joe Royal song, this is down in the boondocks, on the poor side of town - on the hilly side of Highway 1, exiled far from the pompus, elitist downtown restaurants of Carmel by the sea. This is one of the smallest Subways that I've seen, with only about 4 tables inside - almost too small to be called a hole in the wall! Subways is my wife's favorite fast food restaurant, as we are in early 60s, and trying to do an mild imitation of the Subway diet! Jared Fogel went from 425 to 180 lbs in 3 years, eating only Subways twice a day. We weight a combined 70+ lbs less than Jared at his maximum, so we don't have as much weight to lose. Thank goodness, as even if I was starving, I wouldn't want to be eating only Subways for the next 3 years! The bathroom is outside, around the corner, with a key required to open the door. And judging from the poor condition, including the toilet running, it has been overused from people like Jared trying to lose weight! We stick to the chicken or turkey sandwiches, with no sauce. My favorite is the chicken teriyaki with sweet onions, this month a 6" for $3. Subway opposites attract: the wife gets spinach, olives, and all those vegetarian stuff on hers. I get mine without spinach nor olives, but with everything else -including jalepenos, hot peppers, and all that spicy stuff that my wife hates. So hot, that watch out, for the rest of the day I'm exhaling flames like the Dragon in Lord of the Rings! And honey, no French kissing! read more

I am usually super adverse to subway but those new commercials are so gosh darn memorable! My little brother loves this place since it is one of the few chain stores in the area.. The women who work here are effecient, get your order correctly and unlike many subways I have been to, this place is sparkling clean. By far the worst experience I have ever had at a chain store before. My wife and I went in after work because she had a coupon. We asked about it and they said no problem. We order and go to pay, the cashier clicks through my wife's digital coupon then says "oh I don't see that in here, we can't give this to you." We ask if they can just price match or something since the cashier has used up the coupon and can't undo it and he goes to get the manager. Manager says the same thing, won't fix anything on their end, doesn't even apologize. He just says our food is made so we have to pay and then proceeds to charge us $14 for two six inch sandwiches. No restroom inside and 8 year old needs to go really bad. I ask if there is a public restroom. He says yes it's outside. Ok. So we go. They are locked. We come back and ask for the key. Why wouldn't they have just told me in the first place that we need a key? Did they not notice the little 8 year old doing the pee pee dance?! Have some common courtesy and common sense. 5 star just for the staff. Loved those guys, I am not from this are and only stopped by for quick food, I must say the best staff I have ever came across in any food joint. Unlike the first reviewer of this Subway, I actually have been here and I care. I have been here quite a few times and I care enough to write this review. It is usually the same three people working and very very friendly service. They actually stay open until 10 I think which is VERY late for Carmel, but convenient if I need a bite to eat after school. read more

We often go to this Subway after a day at the beach. We have four boys that needed to wash up before we ordered. They apparently do not have the use of the bathroom around the corner any longer. They said they no longer have the key to the bathroom and if we needed the bathroom, we would have to go to the main office or go to the 76 gas station across the street. We ended up at the gas station. We did not go back. They need a bathroom for their customers before we go back again. read more

I ordered 2 subs and a drink, and the cashier tried to overcharge me by 10%. Despite the fact that I explained the math in detail he would not correct the error, so we left without any food.
