I've been to another location that wasn't very good, but the pizza here is good. It is a bit pricey but check website for specials or ask when you order because the discounts make it price competitive. We stayed at a hotel in Monterey, and Mountain Mike's was across the street. Had to give it a try. Five stars for the fun, laid-back atmosphere. Five stars for a simple yet thorough all you can eat salad bar (reminiscent of Sizzler's). Five stars for the really nice guy behind the counter, who took our order and brought the pizza to our table. I have to knock off a star for the pizza. The crust was very thick, the sauce was very sweet, and I found the pizza to be more like pizza cake, similar to Numero Uno. It just wasn't up my alley. However, that's just me. Here's the thing about Mountain Mike's - it's not good cold or warm so don't do delivery. You have to eat it at the location when it's served hot. Served hot and melty - it's delicious. This location is wonderful. You NEVER have to worry about it being busy. It never is. There's indoor, a large bar or patio. We like Snowy Alps, MckInley and the Pineapple Chicken Luau. If you are looking for a great place for a kid's birthday party - this is it. They let you use the entire patio and there's no charge. You can rearrange it anyway you want and they offer to turn the fireplace on in the center of the patio. We used it for our son's birthday and didn't have to worry about the kids running around because it was enclosed. Highly recommend for bithdays but you do need to call ahead - may be good if you are a last minute booker since they don't get busy. read more

Tracy was super friendly, and she did something we were never offered at any other mountain mikes, which was to split 2 different pizza types onto one pizza. It was not only done but done perfectly, as you can see in the photo. The pizza was fantastic, had a great amount of toppings all over, not one bit dry, as some other reviewers had mentioned. The cheesy garlic bread was great as well. My wife enjoyed the all you can eat salad bar, and had seconds. It's a fairly large establishment as well, great for big parties, and they also have a really nice outside patio area with a fire pit. It's located directly across the street from Hotel Abrego, where we are staying. We'll be returning tomorrow for the lunch buffet! read more

This location is spacious, has a bar, and multiple tv's. They are very clean and Omar was very attentive. He had really good customer service (which is hard to find nowadays) and he was very helpful and caring. I really like this location and recommend it for large families. We love the cupped pepperoni, and the Monterey Mountain Mike's really did a good job with our request for double pepperoni and extra sauce. Many times we ask for that at other places, and even other Mountain Mike's, only to find an average amount of both when we dig in. The Monterey Mountain Mike's has several fun arcade games - like racing, and deer hunter, although the sights don't work so great on that one. They have a bar and great beer selection, as well. We noticed the salad bar looked really clean and well-maintained, and well-stocked. One of worker's was really rude. The claw machine ate my daughter's quarter and didn't let her play. My husband went over to let the worker know that the claw machine was not working and the worker immediately had an attitude. He told my husband that that was the last time he was going to give him his money back. When my husband never asked for his money back, he was just letting him know that the machine was not working. My husband started getting upset but contained his anger and told him as nice as possible that he didn't want the money just letting him know machine was not working. The worker rolled his eyes and just said "you play at your own risk". We didn't want to make a big deal so we let it go, who knows he might have had a bad day, but very bad customer service. Bottom Line: Really good! We have been coming to Monterey as a family every year for about 35 years and sometimes you get tired of the same ol. Theres a pizza place where we typically go but I noticed their sign from our hotel.... the kids were hangry and annoying so the executive decision was made to head over here. We had a fair amount of people (12 I think?) and we were lucky enough to land most of the outside patio which was perfect for the kids. We ordered two or three of everything and tried not to get in the way as the food was attacked. Everyone loved the food, beer, salads and deserts. The people there were friendly and helpful, the food was good, the space is great and its location is fantastic. We will be back for sure come August! My wife and I had a pleasant experience at this location. The restaurant was very clean, and there were many tvs around the perimeter displaying various sports programs. We were interested in the NBA dunk contest, and they had that playing so we were satisfied in that regard. The food came out quickly, probably less than 20 minutes from order time, and it was the Mountain Mike's we expected. Warm, fresh, and tasteful. I ordered one pitcher of beer it came out quickly and was as cold as can be, which was refreshing. The only reason for 4 stars opposed to 5 was the lady who took our order just wasn't very friendly. It seemed as if she was in a rush to take our order and didn't employe a friendly tone. However the other employees that we had interaction with were all cheerful and welcoming.
