Took my son and his friend here on a Saturday afternoon--because what kid doesn't want pizza--and to my surprise, it ended up being one of the best slices I've ever had. It's the largest menu I've seen at an indian pizza fusion spot. We tried their Chicken Tikka Masala Pizzatwist and their Tandoori Chicken Pizzatwist. Per their website, the Tandoori Chicken Pizzatwist features their signature Tandoori sauce, fresh diced mozzarella cheese, garlic chicken, crisp red onions, bell peppers, spicy jalapenos, fresh fresh diced garlic, ginger, green chilies, garnished with fresh cilantro for a delicious fusion of flavors. That's okay. A bit spendy for a 12" pizza. $22. The Caesar: came with a lemon vinagrette alternative dressing--different, but still delicious. It was topped with shaved parmesan vs. shredded--this is the mark of class. The Tiramisu: FABULOUS. With pronounced coffee-soaked cake and traditional Mascarpone cheese. But we started going back about a year ago and we've been impressed every time and keep going back. The flavors are exactly what I love when I go for Italian food. Everything is so fresh and flavorful. First, we decided to try the Neapolitan pizza and it was delish! Great crust and sauce. So we kept going back and started trying different things. The gnocchi was wonderful with a great, tangy, fresh tomato sauce. Last time we went I tried the Eggplant Parmesan. Divine! I don't know if it's because the owners spend a lot of time in Italy with their Italian tours, (I ran into the owner in Positano recently) but whatever changes they've made, I'm a fan now! We're there every couple of weeks now and we also go to their sister restaurant Via Marina in Des Moines. We are always seated quickly, our servers have been excellent, so attentive and personable , and the food always comes out promptly. And it's a cute little place with traditional Italian decor. Something as basic as, "What are you guys known for?" Or, "what do you recommend?" Should be questions any employee can answer. I ordered the tandoori chicken pizza and Greek salad. I was going to stick with something safe, like the BBQ chicken pizza, but decided to try one of the Indian pizzas instead. It took about 20 minutes, I waited in the very well lit lobby. The area appeared very clean. My pizza was ready and handed to me fresh from their oven. I was so hungry I had a slice in the car. It was delicious! The crust was crispy and held up well when grabbed. I was worried the pizza would be greasy, but it was not. The pesto (i think) was evenly distributed and complimented the toppings well. Half of the medium pizza was enough to fill me, and I have a pretty healthy appetite. I was a little disappointed that the Greek salad came with ranch dressing. For a late night spot, I'd definitely recommend them for their pizza; I definitely want to try their other pizzas.
