We happened upon this place because the wait at Hershey Pantry was insane. They were totally accommodating of our really large party, they had a kids menu and they had a great beer list. I'm totally on the fence about leaving this review, the food was decent, if not good. We had a selection of appetizers: rubbed wings, roasted cauliflower, tater tot nachos, deviled eggs and so we were off to a good start. We all ordered entrees. Had a decently creative tuna dish. Others had the artic char, lobster sandwich & the truffle burger. Had more than a few kids meals. All was fine/good. Here's the odd part. Our party split into two available tables in the bar area. From the moment we were seated the bartender/waitress looked like she wanted us dead. She put in our order and every time it came out we had to tell them who ordered what because apparently she can't use seat numbering. I'll chalk that up to a former waitress just being picky. The real beauty was when I asked for one of the kids burgers well done and she looked at me like I was the moron and said, "all the kids burgers are well done." When they came out they were practically bleeding on the plate. Then she totally forgot one kids meal altogether, no apology, no explanation, we finally inquired if one more was coming and she said, "it'll be out in a minute". For the record, a minute was close to 15 and so he ate someone else's French fries and then didn't end up eating his dinner at all. We needed replacement silverware after the 1st course, she was irritated we asked for it (yes, she put plates on our table and was about to leave without giving some of us utensils). When she brought it over she just threw them on the end of the table in a stack and said, "here you go". They didn't even have the courtesy to remove the meal they forgot. We paid the check & left her sour puss 20% in the hopes that maybe the next people who come in with some kids she'll be a little nicer to. read more

This place was a nice find! Yelp reviews helped and encouraged the visit. Went with a co-worker and sat at the bar on small stools which were comfy and fun. Our server opted for the butcher plate and it was delish! I even tried the chicken liver and it was awesome. Lamb lollipops were served cool but still yummy. The andouille smoked sausage, pickled carrots, toast and turkey was all awesome. Selected the pork with lemon arugula and pretzel mustard croutons and it was really good. Not blow your mind flavorful but light and the meat was so tender and juicy for a thin cut. For dessert go for the blondie sundae. We got the raspberry and mascarpone and it was bland and too much creme. It needed something more. The place is really cool and if you're in town with clients it's a great place to bring them. Nice atmosphere but they never promoted their own beers, I ended up drinking a wine and my husband had 2 of their beer...their beer menu did not describe their beers at all. We ate lunch there and left hungry. I had the flat iron steak and it was honestly 4 inches long max by 1 inch for $18. I asked for medium well and it was more towards well, no pink at all. My husband got the chicken fricassee and it was served in a very small soup bowl. Overall it was ok, nothing great at all. Once and done for us. read more

The beers all seemed to be geared towards fruit beer or flavorings. Very little on the beer menu paired well with the food menu items. Your fruit beers might pair well with deserts, but not beef, seafood or pasts dishes, sorry. The food part. Ordered the veggie burger, tasted great, nice fresh rustic roll. Black bean/quinoa burger itself was obviously made on premises, very tasty and would come back again for this. The building itself looks like it was recently overhauled with a lot of thought, care and good taste. Service was excellent or better. At 6:30 pm on a Thursday, the place wasn't very busy. I'd venture to guess it's due to the beer selection. A Cherry Stout doesn't go with anything. Please get some Belgians, craft lagers and 86 all the fruit beer. read more

Sunday brunch and we were 1 of 3 patrons when we arrived. We had to come a little earlier because I had a flight out of MDT in the early afternoon. Service was very slow, especially since the restaurant was not that busy to begin with. I had to constantly ask for the water jug to be refilled. Also, coffee is NOT refillable.. and it wasn't even anything special. Total money pit. The food was average. Nothing was really that good and we ordered 4 different plates to share among 3 of us. The best thing might have been the eggs, but I mean, how can you screw up eggs? We came here after a long day at Hershey park (we were tired and hungry) and it was raining and very late. They were nice even though it was an hour til close. Our servers (there seemed to be some confusion on whose table it was) were nice although scarce. Our burgers were all overdone, and we had quite a long wait for the food. That was a bummer because the burger was amazing! I got the truffle burger which had candied tomato jam and crispy onions. It was delicious. I also got a salad, which was good but it was supposed to have pecans on it but didn't, so it could have been better. Brussels sprouts were really spectacular. the "smoked" mac and cheese was so terrible... it tasted like nothing. i have no idea how they called it smoked... there was no bite. my niece ordered the kids fish and chips- portion was huge, big enough for an adult. Overall, I think this place has potential but the night we were there just seemed a bit off. Keeps getting better aaaaaand better!!! The flavors, the textures, the choices...and the WiFi is now SOLID. The new owners (Rotunda family who own the Batdorf in Annville) have only improved upon the already great gastropub experience. The soups are a MUST. The bourbon cocktails are great. Ok, anyone that has read my reviews knows I am NOT, by any measure, a picky person. When I go out, I like competent service, good food, and a decent value. Irv's totally dropped the ball on all fronts last night We met two friends for dinner to celebrate hubby's birthday. He specifically chose Irv's as he had been wanting to try their entrees. He drops me at the door while he goes to park the car. I tell the hostess we are there for our 6:30 reservation and that we are there celebrating my husband' birthday. She tells me "don't quote me, but I think we give a dessert. But I'll let your server know." She then invites us to go to the bar as our table isn't ready yet. The bartender is very friendly and immediately offers drinks. So far, so good, right? We are seated about 10 minutes later. The dining room has four other tables seated. There were four or five empty tables. We proceed to wait approximately 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, bring menus, and ask if we needed drinks. Our friend ordered an appetizer, and after waiting a good half hour for it to arrive, he was in the middle of eating it when our entree orders were taken. Our entrees took forever (and I do mean FOREVER) to arrive (it was an hour, easily) Our friends had the portobello dip. The au jus was amazingly dark and they said it was good. Birthday boy had the Shepard's Pie. He said it was good but nothing spectacular. I had the Lobster pasta special, described as house made pasta with Creme Fraiche and lobster claw. I got about a cup of dry, sticky, bland, clumpy pasta. It had (I'm not kidding) four half a dime sized pieces of lobster, and one whole lobster claw. I have no idea where the Creme Fraiche was...it was probably just all tossed into the pasta. I sure didn't taste it...or see it for that matter. It was also ice cold. This mess cost me $27 and I was PISSED. But I was also starving and didn't want to wait another hour for my food so I just ate it I was still hungry after I ate it, too. We all decide to order dessert. We ordered truffles. Very rich and really good. After THREE HOURS OF SITTING AT THAT TABLE...we each paid our $100 dollar bills, including $8 for the truffles, and got the heck out of there. Notice how nowhere in this review did I mention ANYONE doing or saying ANYTHING about my hubby's birthday. Now, I didn't expect everyone to come out singing. I didn't even expect a free dessert. I expected maybe a candle in the dessert, maybe something written on the plate. Maybe someone just saying happy birthday. Nope. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. Zero. If there's two things I can't stand from a restaurant, it's feeling like we don't matter when a VERY simple request is ignored, and feeling like I've been ripped off. I got both last night. I understand it's Valentine's Day weekend, but that is no excuse for dinner to take three hours. Also, there were a lot of empty tables. I don't get it. Will NEVER got back. It takes a lot to make me super angry, and I was super angry last night by the time we left. read more

The beer is really good and they are definitely creative when it comes to flavor combinations! As for the food, it is decent, but for what you pay... it definitely isn't anything spectacular.
