I mean, ok, if he'd let us know that and apologized for lapses we would have been understanding- or if he'd had an experienced server training him he wouldn't have been the weeds - but even calling it the weeds is generous because it wasnt busy. We said, "ok, it's his second shift but you should know he's doing a terrible job" - as was evidenced by the tables around us who were similarly struggling to order and get their bills. The bartender's response was to shrug, roll her eyes and say "he's trying" while she walked away. If you're charging $30+ for entrees, and people are paying $15+ per drink, we expect more than trying. Oof, if you're treating locals like this, it's gonna be a long shoulder season.
