This place is always packed. When I say packed, I literally mean to the point that the lines wrap around and head back to the rear of the store. With that, you would think they would have more cashiers and ones that at least seem like they want to work there since I can honestly assume they applied for the job. I had held off giving this reviews as I generally do not like to give anything under a 4stars, however, this has been a consistent pattern at this location. The wild thing is, we always seem to find what we are looking for, however, a 30+ minute wait is honestly insane. Security must have either been tracking shop lifters or on a break as we watched 2 individuals with 2 handfull of bags just walking w/o paying all the while stopping us to check our receipts and merchandise bags... I had only 1 item to buy, today on a weekday. They customer line was at least 30 people long & ross only had 2 people working the registers. One cashier at register 10 took almost 30 minutes to process 1 customer. I was going to leave without buying my 1 item but I wanted to see how long this freak show lasts. I was in line 45 minutes before I could buy my 1 item. If I ever set foot in this dirty store again and the line is more than 5 customers, I will walk out. read more

This place should give everybody a 20% discount Just because the line is 20 miles long and I'm not even exaggerating. I waited 20 minutes in the line barely moved, so I gave up on a great deal on a jacket. I just can't see standing in line for an hour when there's two cashiers and more than 30 customers with carts full of clothes. I counted the customers and yes there were more than 30 carts wrapped around more Counters with junk to buy. That's crazy! It's not even Christmas yet. Forget it in my book. read more

I will forever love ross but I wish corporate would rearrange their entire system. Ross should never forget their philosophy of "finding your treasure" while shopping here but there should be more staff available for recovery, register/check out and go backs. It is a major turn off and bummer to continuously see the store in complete disorder. Thankfully they now sell hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes and both disposable & reusable face masks amidst this coronavirus pandemic. Face masks are required to shop here but they are no longer enforcing the number of people entering the building. Social distancing is non-existant here. The fitting rooms are still closed which means A LOT of returns. I will continue to stop by and search for deals in shoes, bathroom/bedroom/kitchen accessories, workout/lounge clothes, baby clothes, kids toys, and the occasional jewelry/perfume. read more

I can't believe how crowded and gross this Ross is. I've been here multiple times in hopes that maybe it will get its act together, but oh my goodness. The amount of people in this building I swear is a fire hazard. There is empty fast food cups on shelves and things out of place everywhere. To keep up with the amount of people at this location I think they seriously need to hire more people. On the other side of things. This Ross is stocked full of items, I mean too many items for their shelves. I hope things change and this becomes more of a location I can venture to more often. read more

My Rating is because there was not one single employee on the floor. The line was all the way to the fitting room, once I moved past the discounted dresses rack, I could see that there was only one cashier. Two more cashiers were added but the line was moving so slow. I spent 2 hours in line, sadly i found a pair of shoes and was afraid it wouldn't be at another store, so i waited in line. Logically when the line is that long, you'd think the manager would staff more cash registers, but even the manager was nowhere to be seen. The cashiers had no sense of urgency despite the extremely long line, they left their station and came back. The store was a mess. I do love to shop at Ross but i will never go back to the Irvington location. read more

Two weeks before Christmas and the line is to the back of the store. I waited 50 min to check out. Only 3 cashiers and one is handling returns. The store is so packed with merchandise you can hardly get around. I usually love Ross but will check the line. Not worth it!!! read more

They mention the mess in the store a lot but the customers don't help at all, they are very dirty, realize the work that it takes to put everything in its place and pick up the mess that you do is unfair, you can't have a lot of people on the floor or in cashiers, oh do we clean oh do we serve them? impossible, if you have worked in a store you will understand the frustration read more

I gave one star but honestly that's being generous! I live near this Ross and it's always been a good place to shop if a little crowded at the weekends. My son and I went here the other day and we were both in shock at the state of the place. It was overcrowded with the racks shoved together so you could barely get one cart down an aisle let alone one in each direction. I went into one aisle and couldn't even get out the other end because it was blocked by a pillar. The line for the checkout snaked halfway to the back of the store because only two checkouts were open. We couldn't believe how bad the store was and we ended up just leaving and going next door to Marshals. Unless they improve drastically, I won't be going back. read more

If you're thinking of child care before shopping here, don't bother, kids are roaming like herds. I even listened as someone was playing a movie in the dressing room stall next door while mom shopped. If you are brave enough to fight your way through the aisles, you'll find a large selection of clothes on the floor to sort through since it appears this place is never picked up. Be sure to check the actual garment's tag as the hangar is typically off by two sizes. Once you have your selections in hand, proceed to the dressing room. Check in with the nice young lady for the number of garments card & be sure to verify your Plain Jane stall actually has a latch installed. If not, enlist previously mentioned small army of children to pull guard duty. Once you've found THE one garment that fits out of your 37 selections, move on to the stupendously long line to pay. Thankfully that part is pretty painless once you get to the register. Finally, gird your loins & brace for impact as you attempt to leave the ultimate in international speedway style parking lots, brakes optional. Good luck. read more

Keeps getting worse. Always a long check out line. Only about 10% cheaper than Target. Can barely fit one cart down the aisles, let alone two. Someone in a wheelchair could really bring down the ADA hammer on this place. They need to get rid of about half their clothing racks and cut prices by a third. read more

it is allway busy, full of people. The lines are horrible; extremely long. It starts at the register and runs to the end of the store. I asked a lady up front to see what was her wait in the line and she said "40 min"! It is very disorginized store. Clothes and items on the floor, you are literally walking on them. items are not organized by size ;about 30% are in the worng sections. HUGE issue with this store. I spent an hour and a half of MY strictly planned out time going through aisles picking out clothes for myself, and when I get to the dressing room I am told I cannot go in with my child in her car seat attached to the cart. I am told I have to not only go back and forth for my clothes (typical rule) but I need to lug my 7 month old and her carrier back to a room first. Now, you may not think this is a big deal -- but I am.5 foot nothing 100lbs -- this is not just a simple task for me. Approached the manager and he would not budge on this. I am a mother of 2 and never have a been denied this, alone yes, but never when I have either of my babies... I feel it's just a complete inconvenience on a customer who does not have time to waste as it is! They lost my money, and my service. I set all things down and walked right next door to MARSHALLS where I am now in a fitting room, with my child in the cart! Thanks ross for my wasted morning. 1 star isn't even deserved here but since it's the only choice I'll give it to you. read more

What is going on in this store? By the looks of it, it does not look like management has a control of this chaotic but circus like atmosphere. Yes, I understand that it's impossible to have it cleaned because of the amount of traffic but damn, if you guys work with more urgency to help customers in line, you would have more time to utilize organizing productively. The short female manager had an attitude with me when I tried to return a bagpack. I had a receipt and she tried explaining to me that it was fake... Ugggghhhh! Girl Really! but kept insisting that Ross didn't carry that brand. It took me 10 minutes arguing with this person who unfortunately is in charge but no clue to what she is doing and what the store carries in inventory. I had to step aside and look for the same bagpack in the store to prove to this MANAGER that Ross sells it. Then as she approved the transaction, she said something in her frog like voice as she walked away. Don't go to this store unless you already have a bad day! read more
