I love the wide variety of beads there, definitely my go-to place considering there is usually a sale on beads that marks then down to $1 per bag. However the ambience is very... strange and extremely uncomfortable. I do dress alternatively, in a gothic style, but more often I dress in a scenemo/emo style. Which I love about myself, however everytime I go inside, I feel stared at by everyone and I feel extremely anxious, nauseous and scared for my safety. I don't believe anything will happen, it's mainly a staring issue and very uncomfortable to have to ask for any help. Once I had to get my husband to walk in for me and he told me the service ruined his day- apparently he had to ask for the manager because the employee he asked "didn't know anything". The manager apparently was also no help, because she was rude and very passive aggressive. Maybe she was just having a bad day- but that is not acceptable to take it out on a stranger, let alone someone who is trying to spend money at your place of employment? read more

Stopped by yesterday and today. My other half and I just moved into a new place and were looking for some art/decor for our empty walls. I found a few things last night and figured we needed a few extras today. Yesterday only two lines open for quite a few customers there in the mid afternoon. And there were two employees at stations that were not lit up Today three lines open for quite a horde of shoppers so the wait was a bit long to purchase our items. I like how it's setup. And the fact you can find something you might never have expected that catches your eye and cries to be taken home with you. This place is humongous! It's a Frankenstein blend consisting of a craft store like Michaels crossbred with your quirky local gift shop. There are a lot of things to like here. Plenty of things to buy for crafting and scrapbooking coupled with lots of gift ideas for all ages. Plus, they have the largest assortment of Nutcrackers I have ever seen. There are a few problems though. The first being the price. It seems like Hobby Lobby wants you to think of it as a locally owned mom and pop shop, because the items on sale here are similar to what you'd get if you buy local. Normally, chain stores are cheaper. Not here. There is also the question of the cleanliness of the store. I spied several broken plastic that appeared to have been swept aside rather than picked up. This can be a hazard for small children and pets. I might come back to gawk at the aisles and see what kind of quirky stuff they have in stock in the future. But it wouldn't be my go to store for gifts. That's what Amazon is for. read more

I don't go into stores during covid, and spent over 20 minutes on hold waiting for someone to get back to me. When asked, they told me that they never offered curbside delivery. During covid this store did not offer curbside delivery; because I am immunosuppressed I pushed and they connected me with a manager who reluctantly agreed to accommodate my request. But they do not accept credit cards outside so that didn't help me, as I am immunosuppressed and high risk. Not good customer service. read more

First time I've been in a Hobby Lobby. This is a new store, so it is nice and shiny clean. They seem to be a little more organized than Michael's. That said, I would like to see more signage in the store. Big signs saying "Art Supplies," "Frames," "Seasonal" (Christmas things right now), "Doohickys," etc. etc. Then I would like to see aisle numbers. I asked a worker for an item. She was busy doing inventory or something. Pointing through or over (couldn't tell) a merchandise rack, she told me it was way down in the last aisle of art supplies. OK, thanks. (Do I go around, go through, or go over this rack?) I went in search of this aisle. First I had to discern where I was. Oh, yes, I guess I'm now in art supplies. Went way down like she said. Nope, don't see what I'm looking for. Oh--here it is in the next to last aisle. Well, I guess she was too busy to bring me here. Now if they had aisle numbers, she could have told me "Oh, as you go down here, you'll find that in aisle Z10 on your right." First strike. So I go to checkout. No wait, nice. I show her the 40% coupon I have. She says I can't use it because this particular item is already on sale for 30%. I said I would rather use this 40% coupon. She quickly said OK, sure. Don't get me wrong, she wasn't rude or anything. As a matter of fact, she was cheerful. But couldn't she have figured out that I would rather spend 40% less than 30%? Two strikes. No three strikes yet. So I guess I'll give them another try someday. read more

This store has some great things for decorating. With that said that is the only reason why I am giving this store 3 stars. No one ever asks if you need help, greets you or even acknowledge you. I was waiting in line to check out and the lady in front of me walks away. I assume she just had a question. I guess she was purchasing a piece of furniture and it wasn't brought to the register. The person ringing her up didn't say anything to me. Normally someone says I will be right with me. On top of waiting and waiting she didn't have change to break $100 for the customer who bought the furniture. When it was finally my turn to check out there was no thank you for waiting let alone a hello. She didn't say anything except my total. I have attached 3 pics of one of the paintings that were ripped by the Hobby lobby framing department. Last June, we went to order a gallery framing type for three beautiful canvas we bought overseas. We were very specific about the framing type we were looking for. Two weeks later when we went to pick them up, the paintings had been stapled all the way around the edges. The paintings were basically damaged, not leaving us a choice to use them as intended. The management at hobby lobby did not offer us a fair solution to the damage they caused to our pieces of art. They just offered an additional framing, and were expecting us to pay for it; to which we did not agree. We were not going to give more money to them on top of what we had paid already. hobby lobbyon broadway in tucson is a well-stocked store and delightful. the problem is the lack of handicapped parking, and the lack of electric carts and the lack of handicapped checkout lines, and poor management, by a seemingly rude arrogant mgr who if the recording for tucson can be located for monday 10/9 /23 at around 3 p.m. whereas i spoke with jeff who to me does not know nor care about ada rules. this, in fact, sort of set the mood for where i will shop this christmas. he of course does not set the rules for the company, but he could forward the info to the appropriate dept for review. i will report this to the proper agencies, and if the justice dept moves in via the ada all hell will break loose. the fine is tremendous. after a warning. i am well trained in this field. the employees are as far as i can see excellent.mostly. read more

I am leaving this review about the Orange Grove Hobby Lobby, and I am leaving 6 stars. Large, clean, nice staff, in particular the framing department. I stopped in one night after work because I was searching for a shadow box for a memorial for my sweet dog Soonie, who has passed away. I spent days on Amazon and the web and a visit to Michael's and could not find anything that I wanted. The generic shadowboxes of good quality I found online would not fit in the space where I wanted to hang it. I explored ordering custom work online, but that was really expensive, and to create exactly what I wanted would cost over $500. When I got to Hobby Lobby, I had the incredible good fortune to meet Chuck, in the framing department. He was really patient and accommodating, as I was explaining all my hypothetical ideas. He was able to interpret my ideas, and come up with a quote to create a shadowbox for me. I eventually brought in measurements for a brass plaque, an 8x10 photo, Soonie's pawprint in clay, her collar, and a poem printed on cardstock. Chuck spent an hour with me on his computer, painstakingly laying out a completely custom 14"x27" shadow box, making sure that the distances between the items and the frame were symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing. Chuck is genuine expert and was really detailed about the layout and creation of this piece. He was really thoughtful about the placement of all of my items, the overall look of what would be visible, and the relationship between all of the individual items and how the surrounding space affects how an object will look. I finally brought in all the actual items I wanted to install in the piece, and in about a week Chuck created a completely custom shadowbox and mat, with museum glass, and installed all 5 objects. It looked magnificent. After a day or two hanging at my house, I decided that color of the cardstock I printed the poem on was too light, and didn't really go with the tone and look of the rest of the piece, so after a few calls to Chuck for advice, I had it engraved on a brass plaque, Chuck replaced it, and it looks perfect. My cost was $217, which is a shockingly good bargain for at least an hour and a half of Chuck's consultation, and the actual manufacture of a 100% custom piece from scratch, and the installment of all the items for the memorial shadowbox. Chuck deserved a raise or a bonus, or both! read more

I don't need a store shoving their religious views and judgments on me. The people and staff were condescending in their tone towards me and my tattooed girlfriend. They are closed on Sundays and do not carry any Jewish Holiday decorations in a direct boycott of other religions. There is great selection, but the stuff here is overpriced and wildly disorganized. The quality of the products is really low all things i have bought from them in the past have broken in one way or another. I used to shop at one in New Mexico and this one has the same mass produced Chinese chemical factory smell when you walk in. read more

I came here specifically for some beads and fabric but I did take a while browsing around looking at their products. I have to agree with Melinda- their items are over priced and very poor quality. I also noticed that they have a really strong inclination towards Christian items (and nothing wrong with that, but how about some diversity?). As far as Sundays.. yeah they're closed on Sundays for "worship".. another disservice to the non-Christian customers. I didn't know this at first and when they were closed on my only day off that week... well I took my business elsewhere. The only positive is that they do have a mobile app with coupons and I wouldnt buy anything from here without one, because of the ridiculous prices. But go figure, almost all of their cheaply made decor is already on "sale".. so you can't use the coupons on them. I'm on this self entitled journey called "I'm planning a wedding and therefore need to get crafty" I stopped by hobby lobby the other day when I spied it from the BJs parking lot across the street to pick up a few items for my first project. Talk about overwhelming! The store is enormous... easily 4 times that of a Michael' s. I do not envy anyone who has to stock those shelves because they are jam packed with almost anything craft or hobby related you could ask for. For example.. I asked where the ribbon was and a woman directed me to "where the ribbon begins". There were four aisles of different ribbon. Insane... but wonderful. I prefer to browse through stores on my own to find things but with the lack of signage it seemed nearly impossible. Thankfully their are tons of employees roaming about their assigned sections and are very knowledgeable about the products and their locations. I was directed from one corner of the store to the next to find my goodies. Hopefully eventually I'll be able to navigate the aisles on my own :) Another plus is that they seem to have some sort of coupon code listed on their website at all times. When I went it was 40% off any one item and they were willing to take it off the highest priced item. You just pull it up on your phone and they type it in.. easy peasy. This place definitely makes me want to become the next Marta Stewart but my wallet is glad that probably won't be happening anytime soon. read more

This store is so "meh". It's like a confused mish mash of Joanns Fabrics and Home Goods. Considering the size of the place and the packed shelves, which admittedly at first glance were impressive, there's really not a lot of stuff worth anything here. It's all cheap junk, that's WAAAAY marked up because they know you're going to use their bait coupon. I went looking for acrylic art supplies, which I figured they'd have plenty of, but all they had was two half aisles of junk. Hardly any paint compared to similar stores, and junky brushes. Canvasses were just thrown around, some very damaged because of it. Most of the items in this section had no prices marked on them that were noticeable to me (and it's the first thing I look for), so I don't even know what things cost. No matter, cause there was nothing worth buying, so I guess maybe I didn't put a lot of effort into the price tag search. I wandered around the rest of the store to see what else was around. Only to be bombarded by the christian junk, and a bunch of other cheaply made junk. Some diversity would be great, or an effort to be more neutral, or hell, just a good stock of supplies would shut me up too. Hobby Lobby is not my kind of store. Big huge selection, of moderate quality craft supplies. I am glad you carry 15 diffrent types of Xacto brand blades and knives but I would really like some Olfa blades and knives. I know the store is new but I a customer shoulnt be the only one in the department who knows where things are. seriously dont hire people who are dumber than a sack of hammers. OFF TOPIC political rant- and If you do hire people dumber than sacks of hammers please pay for their birth control I seriously dont want these people diluting the genetic make up of humanity. They have to enter everything by hand this is what causes the bottle neck at the check outs. Excellent selection of drawer pulls. LOTS of mass-produced furniture, grotesquely overpriced. An enormous store packed with a huge amount of stuff you don't particularly need. An entire aisle dedicated to crosses. The place to go if you are looking for plastic stuff that says "Team Jesus". And who isn't? Tons of employees, lots of them standing around talking but very friendly. Closed on Sundays to allow their employees to "worship". Too much "christian", not enough "craft" for me. I don't mind religion, but this place really crams it down your throat while overcharging for it at the same time. Yuck. I won't be back. FYI I do not work for another craft store in town, I am a vet tech. HL's furniture is overpriced, which is no comparison to other craft stores in town (that I am aware of at least) because Joann's and Michael's don't actually sell furniture, they sell craft-related stuff. :-) read more

Michael's and JoAnn's are in trouble. This store is huge and it carries everything! I get tired of walking around in here, but there is so much to see and to buy. Once you've been through the store a couple of times, it gets easier to find what you're looking for. Mom has been stung by the crafting bug again so we've hit this store in an almost weekly basis since it's opened. Hubby is a crafter too, as am I. We've figured out the store. Appreciate why the fall/Christmas decorations were out so early. And watch the sales each week. If you watch, you never have to pay full price for anything. A tip: if you have a smart phone, when you get to the check out, go to their website: www.hobbylobby.com and click on the weekly offers. They'll take 40% off your most expensive original cost item. If you don't have a smart phone, sign up for their weekly ads to go to your email and print out the code. You'll get that 40% off. Yeah, there's a couple annoyances, closing at 8 pm and being closed on Sundays. But in comparison to the selection, those annoyances are minor. This is now where I shop for crafts. Period. read more

Are you needing fabric to finish that quilt you've been meaning to complete? Then, check this place out. I needed buy canvases for my Art Class and decided to stop here since it was the closest to my home. It's located on the Craycroft and Broadway. The layout of the store is fairly reasonable. The acrylic paints (particularly the Anita brand) on one side BUT the canvases are on the other side next to the drawing/watercolor/multimedia pads. I found a 2 pack of the 16 X 20 pre-primed canvases for $7.99 which I thought was awesome! Side note: At class, I asked everyone where they purchased their canvases (Michael's/Walmart) and how much they paid and they were similar pricing. Tons of ideas to craft: foam, mason jars, wooden designs, scrapbooking, drawing, painting, sewing, and so much more... Lesson Learned: Their sales change every week, I once came in to look at picture frames and they were on sale for 50% off and decided to wait to purchase them. When I came back the next week they weren't on sale anymore. *shakes fists* They are a Christian store so they have a ton of religious crafts/decor so if you or a friend of yours is trying to set up a "cross wall" then this is your place. They're 30-50% off if they're on sale. Customer service is great. I'm always asked if I need help and they're always willing to show me the exact location (then again, I usually come here with kids in tote so they probably want me in and out of their store right away. Bahaha! ) My only gripe is that they have a few cash registers available and there are usually 2 cashiers. The lines get long quickly and they can't get to everyone fast enough so there frequently is a long wait to check out. They also check IDs on spray paints (over 18 only) BAM! Whaaat! read more
