I just stopped by not to long ago I was with my sibling finding a quick outfit we were in the store for not too long about 15 minutes max. Theses employees are so unprofessional one guy who called out to my sibling saying we should go back to California mind you before we even parked this girl from the front kept staring at us rudely from the front window looking at our car that had an California license. I understand that people have off days but I encountered an elderly lady who was being unnecessarily rude for no reason because I accidentally stepped on something. I've shopped at this Ross many times and have never had a bad experience. The prices are low and you can sometimes find a good deal. I've been able to get decor, home essentials, clothes, and even some pantry food here before. I stoped by tonight on my way home from dinner hoping to find more pairs of leggings that I recently got at the Ross in Springfield. I was unsuccessful in my quest for my new favorite leggings, but I still enjoyed walking through the store and looking for other stuff to get. I didn't end up buying anything this time around, but I'm sure I will in the future. The store is about as clean as any cheaper department store. The staff are friendly and welcome each person in and tell them to have a good day/night when they leave. The checkout lines can be pretty bad over the weekend but I think that's the case every Ross in the country. The parking lot is big and is shared with a couple of other businesses in the same shopping center. It's easy to get in and out of from both streets surrounding it and it's usually pretty easy to get a spot close to the building. I'll definitely keep going back to this Ross when I'm in the area. read more

The employees here are very grumpy and for the most part, seem to really dislike their jobs. I was attempting a return and it was at closing, so I can understand a lack of patience to some degree, however, I was struggling to remember what card I used to purchase and gave up, deciding to come back with paper receipt, as the employee was clearly very bothered by the wait. I tend to get flustered when someone is staring at me and waiting while frustrated, so thought it would be better to return later. I would think if I didn't really have a receipt I would have taken the store credit offered, but I declined, knowing I had the receipt. Despite this, the young blonde man who was helping me, proceeds to tell me, "thanks a lot for wasting our time. Why don't you get a job? You f****** bum." Honestly, I just started laughing because it was such a weird, outlandish, and random thing to say. I won't dignify such inappropriate, ignorant, and baseless statements with a response to them. However, I will say, it felt pretty wacky and was definitely a unique experience for me . I did return the very next day with the receipt, which actually and unfortunately was in my wallet. I suppose I find it also worth mentioning that this same young man was saying enormously offensive comments the entire time I was in the store to a variety of different customers going as far as saying to one woman, "EW..get away from me! go away!" they were the most abrasive and abnormal comments I've heard an employee make to any customer, ever. I feel sorry for this man and many other Ross employees I've met, as I've yet to patronage a store that so universally and almost exclusively is comprised of highly irritable, unfriendly, and unprofessional staff. Good selection of product after Thanksgiving and before Christmas! My friend and I stopped by one evening after the mall had closed. I love that Ross stores stay open late for those who work late! I found a beautiful Nike jacket that could only have been found in Oregon, and my friend found fleece lined leggings that she needed to stay warm while hiking. All in all, it was a successful visit! Checkout was quick and easy, and all of the associates here were very nice. read more

This is the before second hand kind of store. This is the place where items not purchased across the street come to live before getting shipped off to good will. Kind of a clothing and housewares purgatory. Usually you can find good pricing here, but not always, you will have to be savvy on this point, as this place is not above charging more than what would be charged at a normal store. I cannot believe the rockin' deals that you can get at this place! I bought a comforter that still had the tag on it from Kohl's that read $99.00 for $14.99! I found a great deal on spring skirts ($4-$10), all name brands and great shirts to go with them. I am gathering they buy out small amounts of items from stores that have gone through clearance, are irregulars, etc. Who cares, I look fly and no one knows I paid so little to look so good! Ok, this place is like goodwill...except for new clothes. You have to be a regular to find good deals, and you have to know what to look for. This place is kind of the cheaper version of TJ Maxx, but you can still find some great deals on name brands (or not name brands). I personally always like to look at clothes, shoes, kitchen goods, and in the home goods sections (in that order). Some advice: just like Goodwill, you will want to make sure to take a good look at what you're buying before you pay. There are times when clothing will have holes or stains (especially if you get it off of the clearance rack). I've found some great jackets for dirt cheap and [good enough] work clothes. read more

This is probably the worst Ross I have ever been to. Don't get me wrong, the customer service is friendly and helpful but the selection of clothes sucks! I can never find any basic black leggings or leggings in general that aren't work out pants or some horrible fabric. The dress selection is old and super outdated. Normally I can find a few cute pieces at Ross and sometimes a whole arms full of options but never at this place. I don't know if it's just because everyone comes here and picks through everything like crazy while leaving the bad stuff or if this location just doesn't get the best merchandise in general. I also felt the same way about the other sections including the kitchen and pet section. TJ Maxx is way better when it comes to house ware options and sometimes even clothing. At least this time the obnoxious lost prevention lady that yells at you the minute you walk in the store today was not there.So annoying! I came into the store to exchange 2 dresses with a receipt. Didn't have time to try on and no they were never worn!! Had plenty of time to return them. They wanted to give me a gift card! Really,came in with a receipt and had the dresses less than a week . Give me a break. How about you give me my cash back! Paid with a debit card which can take up to 5 days to go back on your card. These store are getting ridiculous with their return policies. I will be rethinking how I do my Christmas shopping this holiday season. If I could i would give no stars. The customer service at both locations, Eugene and springfield is horrible. All employees refuse to help and claim it is store policy. They wont allow a person on the sales floor to help look for an item if you call to ask a basic quesion you get told they cannot help you because "it is against store policy". Not to mention the stores are always in disarray and dirty. All we were trying to do is replace a toy my two year old lost, and ended up being treated the worst I have ever been at any store. I really enjoy this Ross. Much cleaner than most I've been to. Organized. Good selection and good prices. Obviously the quality isn't always high but neither are the prices. It's great for closet organizing items, dog toys, kitchen knick knacks, Christmas items, and occasionally quality clothes and shoes. Has a good selection of maternity clothes at low prices. They aren't the best quality but you are only wearing them for a few months so who really cares. I shop here frequently. The location is great too. read more

Want to be treated like a thief? Then go shop at Ross / Valley River Center. Today was my last visit to ANY Ross store. They'll no longer get any of my discretionary income. While shopping for dresses today, a security man circled me no less than 5 times, speaking to me on 3 occasions to ask me if I was finding what I needed. What the hell is that about? I am a 52 year young professional woman. I don't need to be treated like a thief or criminal in stores where I intend to spend my hard earned money. Further, when taking 5 dresses to the fitting room, I had to hang them and then step away from them as the young clerk felt each item up and down to ensure I had not put other merchandise inside the dresses. Clearly they have a theft issue and they make paying customers feel like suspects. I'm SO SO SO done with Ross. I don't intend to shop in any store that treats me like a criminal - going to TJ Maxx or Marshalls. Good bye Ross. read more
