Bean and cheese nachos
Rachel W.

I'm recommending Rositas to a very specific audience - are you from Texas and missing Taco Cabana's bean and cheese nachos? Rositas is for you. Do they have other good menu options? Sure, I like their breakfast burritos, the burnt tacos are pretty good, my husband loves the flautas. But is anything on their menu better than their bean and cheese nacho appetizer? No, absolutely not. I live walking distance to Rositas so it's a convenient option. If it weren't, I probably wouldn't frequent them. The food is pretty good but not the best Mexican food in the area. The drinks are not great. I have only dined in once so can't say much on service, but our to go orders are correct 90% of the time and since we're so close the food is always hot and fresh. Rositas fills a large void in my heart since leaving Taco Cabana behind and for that I will always be grateful.

Pretty lackluster experience here. I need a burrito to use in conjunction with a collaboration I was posting on insta and as Rositas was nearby and on my way home I figured I would grab one from there. Chose a handheld burrito as it would make for better pictures and put the order in on an app. I showed up a few minutes before my scheduled Time but I figured a handheld burrito with 3 ingredients how long could that possibly take to make. Showed up to a completely empty restaurant and the order not done. No worries I assume I let them know that I'm here and they will start making it....considering they have 0 other customers. Nope. Took them 17 min to get that burrito with literally - green chili , cheese, beans, and pork complete. All the while the ladies are all chatting and having a great time. Pretty interesting experience. But oh well; get home and take my pix and then try the burrito. Paid extra for sour cream inside the burrito, it came on the side lol. Burrito was meh. Which I guess giving my experience even trying to pick it up, I guess should have been expected. Probably won't be going back there and I guess now I know why at like 5pm they literally only had two customers (the two that walked in during my 17 min wait)

As soon as we walked in we greeted and treated like family. The salsa tasted good with just enough spice. The food was amazing. This is authentic Mexican food. They have a customer for life. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I haven't been here for years but I sure am glad that I brought my Wife here as she has never been here. The place is casual but quaint not to big but plenty of seating with booths around the perimeter of the restaurant. It's a stand alone building so it's easily to spot just a little north of 80th Ave on Federal. The give you a basket of chips to dip into the medium heat salsa that has a nice flavor. We went in for lunch as we had an appointment in the area so we thought this was a good fit for our time constraints. My wife had the special of the day which was a Rosita Gordita that gives you the options of different meats to fill the deep fried tortilla along with the usual favorites of guacamole, cheese lettuce and tomatoes and chili which you may ask for on the side. My wife truly enjoyed it and I cant really say we've seen this item on the menu of any other Mexican restaurants we frequent. I went for the carna asada plate that came with 2 nicely roasted jalapenos, beans , rice and tortillas of your choice. I asked for a side of extra hot chili and I'm not sure if there was a mistake but the salsa was hotter than the chili. So I will admit my wife and I agreed this isn't the largest menu we've seen but that's ok because they do offer a nice variety of things to choose from including si food as they say on their menu. And yes you can also get Menudo for those Sunday mornings, lol. All in all this experience was one of the more enjoyable Mexican meals we've had in awhile and were glad we stopped in. All in all I would recommend giving this place a try because it has been here quite awhile and it's some thing that may make you change your mind about going to the places that everyone goes to here in the north part of town and you guys know the ones I'm talking about because it sure has opened our eyes to not be scared to give an old place some of our hard earned money and not come away thinking we should have went somewhere else.

A bunch of picky haters I see. If you all want perfect Mexican food go to Mexico. It's better than Taco Bell and I eat Taco Bell.

This was an impromptu choice while we were in Boulder, and it truly lived up to its reputation as a Michelin Guide restaurant. Food & Taste We tried the lamb tacos and chicken enchiladas (with both red and green sauces). The lamb tacos were delicious, though slightly on the oily side -- something we did share as feedback. The chicken enchiladas were the highlight. The flavors took me back to Santa Fe -- well-balanced, rich, and comforting. The chicken was cooked well and, importantly for me, had no off smell, which I'm usually quite particular about. Vegetarian / Vegan Options They do have vegetarian and vegan options like sweet potato enchiladas and veggie torta quesadillas, which is great to see. Service The staff is helpful and patient, happy to answer questions and guide you through the menu. Ambience The space has a boho vibe, and the clean restrooms are a plus. Overall A great find in Boulder -- flavorful food, thoughtful service, and definitely worth trying if you can get a spot

We walked in and at first it seemed like it had a decent vibe. I had actually been to this location before when it was a different restaurant. Seems like this spot changes ownership pretty frequently, which in hindsight probably says something. Right away we noticed a bunch of tables, especially the booths, still hadn't been bussed. We were told to "sit anywhere," but the only clean tables available were high tops and we wanted a booth, so we waited for the busser, who moved at a pace that honestly felt unbelievable. He seemed to be clearing tables one cup and one plate at a time, walking each item individually back to the kitchen. It was painfully inefficient. It was obvious both he and the girl at the bar saw us standing there waiting for a booth to be cleared, but nobody seemed concerned about it. Eventually the table was finally cleared, but then it sat there dirty for a long time without being wiped down. At that point we just sat anyway, assuming someone would quickly come over and clean it once they saw guests sitting there. In most restaurants, that's standard. Not here. After waiting even longer, I finally asked for a rag so I could wipe the table down myself. The response I got back was rude: "Why don't you just sit at one of the tables that's already clear?" That pretty much sealed it for us. The vibe was off from the second we walked in, and you could feel the lack of care throughout the whole place. At that point we didn't even want to order food because it already felt like the experience was headed downhill. We got up and left. Honestly, I'm glad we did. Service and atmosphere usually reflect what's happening behind the scenes, and I had zero confidence the food experience would've been any different. After leaving, we went to El Centro instead and had a much better experience. I'd recommend choosing that over this place any day of the week. Giving people a good dining experience really isn't that complicated. Sometimes it honestly feels like restaurant staff have never gone out to eat themselves and experienced what good hospitality actually feels like. Unfortunately this place completely missed the mark. We won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend it.

It's also very unassuming. It looks like a very small restaurant on the outside but once you are inside, you'll be shocked to see its good size dining area. This place is all about happiness. I mean seriously!! They care about their customers that get satisfied with their service and meals. And it does draw a very diverse crowd from the Hispanics to Caucasians to Asians, I mean you name it. They also get a lot of to-go orders. Some people came in, grabbed their food and went on their way for the night. My friend got the Torta Los Carboncito. This is a massive sandwich with plenty of meat inside. Since the menu has colored picofor almost each item, what caught my attention was the fish dish. There are two of them: one is trout and the other is something else (I forgot) but I got me the non-trout one. The lady asked me if I wanted the flour or corn tortillas so I went with the corn one. As soon as I got home, my late night snacking started. I only took several bites out of that whatever the huge fish. And oh my goodness, it was so delicious! Well-seasoned with very light salt. Although I mainly got it for tomorrow morning/lunch I had a hard time quit eating because of its deliciousness. Extremely welcoming staff (I even met the owner, Alex as he was dining with his family), quality food and value pricing, this place checks out for the hidden gem restaurant that's not necessarily super fancy but it's worth every penny and time. Yelping is so much fun. That is why I cannot quit my foodie-ness! What a nice discovery!

Chips were fresh and crisp with a good amount of salt. I ordered the beef/chicken fajitas and the hot the spot for sure. Even after eating two bowls of chips (cuz why not?!?) I still managed to policy off most of my fajitas since they were so good. I'm from So CA and we have great Mexican food everywhere, El Jardin is on par with the best Mexican restaurants in my home area. We were seated quickly and our server took drinks while we reviewed the good sized menu. Drinks came, we ordered right away and had our food within 13-14 minutes. The place is actually huge. We walked in and thought the bar area and front seating section was decent but she took us towards the back where there was almost a whole other restaurant. Parking was easy and they have plenty since they have a front and back lot. Highly recommend!
