Came for dinner last weekend for dinner and enjoyed it so much that I came back the next day for brunch! I've been wanting to try Rosewater for quite a while so when I finally got the chance I jumped at it. The space (which used to be a Brueggers Bagels if you can believe it) is absolutely gorgeous, featuring what I can only describe as a "greenhouse" aesthetic with lots of flowers, fountains and glass. We sat outside both times which while a bit chilly was better than being crammed inside during a pandemic. Really this was my only downside- it was very crowded inside, pretty much no social distancing is taking place indoors. Fortunately, there was lots of space outside and the seats were much further apart and everyone kept their distance. It really was night and day between the two spaces. Crowdedness aside both times we had great severs who were very helpful, and food that was pretty much perfection! Don't be fooled by the fancy restaurant vibe, the portions here are HUGE. The tri-tip steak was enough for us to share and have leftovers the next day, the mussels were probably 30 or so in a delicious broth and the french toast (my brunch entree the next day) was fluffy and filling and more than enough for two! Pricing is a bit higher than a casual dinner out but lower in cost than many of the restaurants surrounding it (Stir, CO, Capital Grille). Really a perfect restaurant for the location. After two great experiences in a row I will deifnately be back! read more

Beautiful restaurant but that's about the only thing good about it. The service was slow and not very attentive. The prices were ridiculous for what it was. We paid $8 for 5 slices of basic sourdough bread which was supposed to come with olive oil and olives, which was delivered after we had finished the bread, we assumed this was the normal bread basket but no, it was the $8 basket. The salmon had no flavor and came with no sides and the quarter chicken tasted like vinegar and nothing else. When the bill came they over charged me with and item I didn't order. First time here and based on reviews, we were not disappointed. Took some time to be greeted but when we were, it was with a big smile and welcoming words. Seated with our Sunday reservation time of 1 pm at a nice corner table. Quinn was our server and he gave us the time and space to make our selections. Their mimosas are a must.. it comes with a bottle of champagne and fresh fruit juice in separate jars. We chose grapefruit and the upcharge passion fruit, both of which were fresh and natural. We were so excited to be mixing our own mimosas ;) We also had our own supply of water to refill our glasses. Burrata tartine was our appetizer, followed by Grit cake with prawns and Secret Garden salad with salmon. All of which were fresh and delicious. We totally enjoyed every bite! Well I finally made it to the infamous Rosewater! Even just walking up to the restaurant you know you're in for a treat with the eclectic but modern decor and beautiful outdoor area. Although I attended during the COVID pandemic, the area was well maintained, seating with the correct distance and the staff stayed suited and booted with face masks. There was some small shifts in the dinner menu due to the pandemic but overall there was still a great selection. I purchased the steak with sea salt and pepper crust. It came with fingerling potatoes and i got a salad. The portion of food was great for the price ! And I got a Patron shot with club soda and lime (quarantine diet tings) which again was a great amount for the price. I do have some reservations about the steak. The steak was put under rotisserie and maybe that is the way they cooked it but my medium steak was soooooo chewy I was tired of chewing. I had to cut it into almost baby pieces to truly enjoy it! Although the flow or was good, there a bit of sea salt on my portion which over powered the steak and made it very salty in my opinion. Another person at my table got the chicken which was made perfect and the black rice was also delicious! Finally the farmer salad was incredible! It was fresh tasty and filled with a great mix of flavors. Overall I would return - especially for brunch! -But the way the steak was cooked really took away from the meal. My fiancé and I dined on their patio Saturday evening and it was a great experience, even during COVID. We were adequately spaced out from other tables and felt safer eating outdoors. The menu isn't too large and seems like it is seasonal. For the app we went with the burrata and heirloom tomatoes and it didn't disappoint. Perfect balance of acidity and savory. If you enjoy tomatoes I highly recommend this dish. For entrees I had the trout and Andrew had the tri-tip! The trout was great, cooked just right and the orzo it sat on was SO good! Atmosphere: We went on Valentine's Day, and the restaurant had such a cozy and intimate ambiance. We loved the decor, particularly the corner with all the frames! Service: Our server was helpful and patient. We had our meal closer to closing time, and they were accommodating and flexible with time! Food: We ordered the fingerling potatoes, picanha sirloin with chimichurri sauce, pipe rigate, pistachio cheesecake, and almond bread pudding. The fingerling potatoes were crispy and soft. The sirloin was excellent with the chimichurri sauce and the portions were generous; however, it was a bit underdone considering we ordered it as a medium. The pipe rigate was quite heavy but still delicious, especially with the pancetta bits! We had high hopes for the pistachio cheesecake, but it was not as flavorful as we expected. However, the almond bread pudding was amazing with the blackberry gelato! Overall: We enjoyed our dinner at Rosewater! Annoyingly loud place where you must nearly yell to have a conversation with someone two feet away. Decor is nice but the tables are tiny and the chairs are not comfortable. Food is just OK. The bread was toasted and crispy, which tasted amazing with the soft steak and cheese *Smoked Salmon was my favorite! While there were other restaurants around us I have been to rosewater before. We had to wait a little bit to get a seat at the bar, but it was worth it. We had several their cocktails and the espresso martini was my favorite! I didn't get a picture of the bone marrow that we had and that was probably my favorite thing we had on the appetizer menu. Missed the opening last Tuesday cause I was out of town but made it to Rosewater Kitchen & Bar last night! Congratulations to the owners, chef and staff we had a marvelous time! It was packed and very busy but the proprietors took the time to check on the patrons. Cameron the bartender whipped up a few very yummy drinks. We tried 4! The Rosewater Martini was my fave! We shared the filo wrapped prawns, ricotta gnudi and the sea scallops to start and they were all good and so original. The waitress informed us that the gnudi is over 100 year old recipe of the chef's grandmother. That's awesome! We also shared the entree of medium rare lamb and vegetables and finished off with pistachio cheesecake and cappuccinos. The live plants, decor and lighting were very classy yet welcoming. I can't believe it took me this long to try Rosewater. It was the perfect scene for a Saturday girl's brunch this past weekend. As soon as you walk in the door you're transported to a different place. Warm wood finishes and fresh flowers accent the perfectly set tables. The show stopper is the "green house room" as I like to call it - I cannot wait to see what this looks like in the summertime. We had reservations at 11am and were sat right away. Smaller groups probably don't need reservations for Saturday brunch, but for the larger tables of 6-8+ you will want to call ahead at least. Our server, Suzy, was AWESOME. She had great energy and was attentive the whole meal. Thankfully, she had some great recommendations because it's impossible to decide what to order. I went with her suggestion and got an order of the French toast for the table..it is quite a large portion. I also got the herb omelet. The omelet was good and I liked the avocado purée on top, but the French toast was by far my favorite. Not too sweet and bread that was able to hold its texture even with the eggs and blackberry sauce. Thank god we split it because I easily would've eaten the whole thing and gained 7 lbs. Did I mention they have mimosa specials? $3/mimosa or $15/carafe (about 6 in a carafe). What better way to start off your Saturday?! The best thing is the atmosphere, very nice, both inside and out. Service was good and the manager stopped by our table to check in which was a nice touch. Food - I had the half chicken. Really nothing special there at all. A bit on the dry side and not overly flavorful. My housemate had the steak and she said it was full of gristle and would expect a better cut for $45. I had a glass of Sangria which was nice although very light on the alcohol. Prices - on the high side, expect at least $50 - $75 a person. Value for money - plus on the atmosphere and service, minus on the food prices and quality. Overall, below average for value. A few pieces of bread were $5. The restaurant could throw that in for a nice touch. On the other hand, it is in an expensive area, and there not too many places you can wander outside and enjoy the location. Plenty of parking in the parking decks as well so no worries there. read more

Given the recent coronavirus spread, I wasn't feeling too great myself either and wanted a nice change of scenery and try out a new watery. Rosewater had been on my mind a while so my husband decided to take me there for a date. What I loved the most was the amazing interior decor and ambience very they'd created, the location itself is nice in the middle of North Hills but I was enjoying the very beautiful interior too. We ordered the burrata, the beef short ribs, rotisserie chicken with mushrooms- the mushrooms were my favorite bit as they had a mix of mushrooms all roasted lightly which paired great with the chicken. The beef was a little heavy on the gravy but enjoyable nevertheless. I also really loved the burrata too. They made us some special orange mocktails which we loved and got second helpings of as well. The service was slightly slow but nothing too much to warrant frustration. I also really loved the Rose pistachio cheesecake- personally, that's my favorite dessert combination and I think they did a great job with it. The creme brûlée was also very well done and crackly outside and soft inside. We couldn't finish everything so packed it up. The portions were quite filling- I had the chicken for two meals more later too do it was worth it. I'd definitely be back! read more

Made a reservation 1 week in advance for Sunday brunch at 10 AM. Only option for seating was "Standard" I didn't think anything of it because it's my first time here. I get there a few minutes early and walk in, host tells me to go outside because they're not open yet. My mistake, I should've checked the time first. No more than 60 seconds later, host comes outside and asks for whoever arrived first to please come in, and for everyone else to wait. This caused confusion, because the majority of folks waiting outside were reservations. He then changed his mind and said reservations first. I hear folks in front of me chatting about where they'd like to sit. When my time comes around, host doesn't ask, but tells us we are sitting outside. I am puzzled because I don't routinely make outdoor reservations (I feel service is generally slower). He tells me there's no room for my party inside. I say okay and am seated, and this is when I check opentable to confirm outdoor vs indoor reservations, and confirm option was only standard. If you can't select an indoor reservation, how was there no room for my party? We were the third party seated, but there was no room for us inside. The host seemed like he hated his job. Waitress was nice but we waited a while for everything. I ordered a Tajin Sunrise, which the menu states comes with a Tajin rim, though there was no Tajin rim. Biscuits came and were delicious, but we were given no small plates. Needed to request from different waitress. We got the crab cake eggs Benedict and I got the shakshuka. Eggs Benedict was good, shakshuka had great flavor. We saw another couple outside leave after being seated for a while with no greeting. read more

We chose this place as somewhere new to try on date night. My girlfriend is a bit of a foodie and I myself would say im a fairly practiced chef. We were both incredibly happy with the service and the wait staff at Rosewater. The ambiance was fantastic and cute, and we sat outside on the lit terrace during a nice cool evening. We both ordered for cocktails: - Thyme after thyme: a gin and st germain cocktail that was 10/10 full satisfied and would recommend. Not too sweeet. Very herbaceous. We ordered the following appetizers: - Pipe rigate (mac and cheese): 10/10 very solid Mac and cheese - Fresh made bread: quite bland. Good texture but missing herbs and SALT. We asked for extra balsamic but ultimately probably wouldn't recommend. We had seen other reviews warning about the lack of flavor but we wanted to try for ourselves. We agreed. - Tuna poke: very good, would recommend as well. For main entrees we got: - Short rib: the short rib dish was served over a black earthy textured rice that was seasoned with almost honey and some spices that was absolutely phenomenal. Great attention to additional mix ins like pickled carrots and we both loved it. The short rib itself was seasoned well, but for a meat that's slow cooked at low temperature, it was one of the driest short ribs I've ever had. Not sure what happened there. - Teres major: again had a base of Orzo pasta with shaved garlic and other assorted additives that was the highlight of the dish. Similar to the short rib dish we felt the meat aspect fell short of expectations. The meat in this dish is a beef tenderloin which we ordered medium rare and it was cooked perfect. However, it was lacking flavor and seasoning. With a tenderloins (lean beef) it needed more seasoning and an aggressive crust / sear. But it was kind of bland and again, needed SALT. (To be clear were not big salt people but some salt is necessary lol). But this dish was very good but we'd probably order something else next time. Overall: we were glad that we gave it a shot, the place looked amazing and service was great but there are a lot of other competitive Mediterranean options in the area. read more

The busicuits were huge and had great flavor. The French toast mentions whip cream, but not the fact that it was blueberry. The crab cakes were overly lemon flavored. I went to Rosewater Kitchen and Bar for an opening preview event and had so much fun! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The place had such great vibes. It was very chic and would be a great spot for date night. The bar is beautiful and they have a wonderful open terrace. I had their bread and butter, a butternut squash hummus and beet hummus to start. All wonderful. They had great flavor and the hummus's texture was nice. Thick and creamy, not runny or grainy. My favorite thing I tried was the lamb with chimichurri. It's so nice to get lamb at a restaurant since it's not a readily available meat offered.
