Great place to stop by for a quick bite. I read a lot of the other reviews and did not experience anything being stale. I came here before sitting through the new almost 3 1/2 hour movie Avatar 2 The Way Of The Water at AMC Lincoln Square a few blocks away. The staff was courteous, really pleasant, made great suggestions and the process from start to finish was quick and efficient. I found the food to be extremely fresh. Had the turkey, tomato and cheese sandwich which was bursting with flavor. We shared the Margarita pizza ( kind of expensive at $8.90) although it's like the equivalent of almost two slices. Took home the Apple strudel, a couple of croissants, an apple tart and lemon tart. I had a piece of the apple strudel which was great and had nice chunks of apple and you could taste the cinnamon. They have great assortments of drinks, sandwiches, pizza, pastries, donuts, and lots of cookies and deserts. The only negatives are they are very pricey, even for Manhattan. I enjoyed the experience so I was ok with the cost. They do get crowded and even though they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating at 39 degrees most customers were inside. A little difficult to get a seat. My only suggestion is to make it a laptop free environment like Maman about two blocks away on Columbus Ave. I would recommend you give them a try when you're by Lincoln Center. read more

I ate breakfast here on Christmas Day. The bakery was crowded, but the lines went fast. I got an Apple Galette and paid for my order within five minutes. The pastry was good but not above the quality of other bakeries. It cost me $8.93, which is a bit steep--even for the Lincoln Center neighborhood where it is situated. Another downside is that there is no flavored coffee. I cannot order my favorite coffee flavor: hazelnut, brewed directly from the flavored bean. There are no syrups, either. There is a great selection of sweet and savory, from almond croissants to vegetable pizza, and all foods are elaborately designed. The atmosphere says "Miami Beach," and the electronic music blends right in with it. Outdoor seating is in plain view of Lincoln Center. Vehicle owners: I would recommend a visit on a Sunday when there is plenty of free street parking on Broadway and on the side streets. I easily found a space. read more

I had no intention of buying sweets, but I couldn't resist stopping by this gorgeous modern-looking bakery. The bakery sells foccacia bread, pizza, sandwiches, coffee, teas, pastries, and other baked goods. I ordered a delicious soft chocolate confection. Oh! It was fantastic. Nice little bakery for quick treats and a caffeine boost. We sampled a peach tart that was great, a chocolate croissant (also very good) and a mini canoli (just ok). Cappuccino was lovely. We were there at about 5pm, and they were moderately busy, but kept the line moving. Tables were mostly occupied, but we found window seats. Cozy, comfortable, and not more (or less) pricey than than anything else in the area. If I lived in the area, I'd SPLURGE every once in a while on a $5.50 cappuccino, and would probably order significantly more than the modest (TINY!!) mini-cannoli that I ordered... Honestly, I don't care how poorly the food is reviewed, the pastry& artisinal pizza squares are a breathtaking site in an area without many simpler, walk in options that aren't big name saloons. And you can safely sit outside, meaning, the lack of lunatics on this particular stretch of Bday is pretty impressive. Right across from Lincoln Center, just north before you cross 64th (or Lincoln Center Plaza) to The Smith, Bar Boulud (which has the most amazing almond coissant in all of NYC) & Fiorello sits this clean, bright & inviting "Bakery". Yes, it is expensive. So is living around Lincoln Center. If you want a bargain pastry, head up to The Bronx or down to the LES. Sometimes I walk from work on 81st down to The Theater District or Penn Station and I want to just sit and relax in peace, people watching. Rosetta Bakery is just that place. Nice clean tables are outside even in the cold months, on the sidewalk and not in the street. I saw a recent review mentioning Eric the cashier & if it's the same young man, I took notice of how friendly & polite he was as well. Find a better place to relax pre or post show in this area & let me know about it. My goal for the new year is to share the colossal, signature King Rosetta with someone special: a round beehive looking challah type creation filled with Prosciutto di Parma or Italian cooked ham, arugula, swiss & cherry tomatoes. We were in Miami Beach a couple of months ago and while looking for something for breakfast near my hotel, Yelp directed us to Rosetta Bakery. We loved the service and the food as well as the vibe. When looking at their website, we saw that they had a location in NYC opening soon so we've been watching and waiting and were excited when we saw it was open. This past Sunday we went and it was a great experience. I love their croissants so much. I had a prosciutto and Swiss which was perfect. I also had a cream filled pasty which was amazing. There was a line but it moved relatively quickly. Seats fill up quickly but we were able to find some stools by the window and enjoy our food while watching the world walk by. It was a great experience. I'm so happy this is just a few blocks from our apartment. Will definitely be back. read more

This is my new favourite bakery in New York City! Modern looking Italian cafe on Broadway close to Lincoln Center. It's super busy full of activity inside, and there is a reason why. Beautiful selection of pastries and desserts, on display case visible from the street. Everything looks delicious and fresh. Pastries are being brought out by the minute while you stand waiting in line to purchase items. Lots of enticing options. Love this Italian bakery concept. It's hard to get a table but if you luck out it's worth the wait. Got cappuccino and pastries to go. The fruit tart pastry is probably the best I've had in a long time. This was my second visit to the bakery, and I had a much better experience this time. The pistachio tart was absolutely delicious, easily the highlight. I came here to get a quick snack break. There are so many delicious treats to enjoy. I got multiple items and they were all delicious. I do recommend getting the apple muffin pastry as it is sweet sugary and delicious. I also got a iced matcha drink with almond milk which was sweet and creamy. The staff assisting were really nice friendly and new their items. Even when they got the drink order wrong with whole milk instead of almond they quickly fixed the issue. Ahhh, what a lovely place to stop by for a pastry or some finger food. It's right by Juilliard, so it's very easy to find and quite convenient. I frequent the area, so I'm constantly stopping inside for a warm drink and to enjoy it while I do some work on my tablet. There is plenty of seating, so it's excellent for quiet solo workers or groups getting together for a bite and a chat. And one of my favorite features? It's AHH, so clean. It's tidy and spotless, so you never have to worry about sitting down in someone else's crumbs. Even when it gets busy! I don't know how these guys keep it that clean, but they sure rock it! The food is very yummy. I personally love the yogurt parfaits with fruit and mango jelly. I would say it's just about the right size too, so you never have to worry about skimping or biting off more than you can chew. The staff is polite and keeps the flow of traffic moving. Yes, I did say traffic. It really does get that busy, especially around 10am. It's the most peaceful right when they open. Either way, busy or not, it's a pleasure to stop in. Rosetta is pretty, oh so pretty. The glass front lets in afternoon light galore, the predominantly white, light-wood furnished, high-ceilinged modern space feels spacious, even when it's packed to the gills with customers as it always seems to be. There are display cases of pastries that invite -- from filled croissants and Viennoisserie to fruit tarts and cream puffs. What they don't sell: bread! There's a lovely display of various pain d'epi high up on a rack that you can see when you first walk in -- but evidently all the loaves are purely decorative. Too bad. There's a little window into the baking area where you can spy the bakers / pastry chefs hard at work. (It must be so distracting to have to work in a fishbowl like that....). The cafe would be a lovely place to sit and enjoy were it not so perpetually overrun with folks, a mix of tourists and locals, some of whom squat on large swathes of real estate without consideration for others. Maybe in wide-open Montana, it's fine to sit in one chair, put a coat in another, one shopping bag on a third, and a second shopping bag on a fourth. But here in NYC, when the place is jam packed and there's nary a seat to be found... please don't do that. Just don't. We tried an assortment of pastries, chai latte, and a cafe au lait -- and all were enjoyable. GarGuPi recently upped my game by introducing me to Pavé, a small-scale artisan baker, though, and I think that's changed my entire world view when it comes to bakeries. Rosetta is fair, of even quality as Marie Blachere for pastries, of slightly lesser quality than Heritage Grand Bakery or the now-defunct-in-the-US Maison Kayser. It is quite a lot less excellent than a truly good small-scale artisan baker. Yes we are spoiled rotten in NYC. (In many smaller towns in the US, this would easily be 5 stars.) But on that privilege and by NYC standards, I really have to go with a 3.5, rounded up to 4, without taking pricing into account. Have to echo other observations and share the sense of annoyance that there are no identifying labels or prices. We had no idea how much anything cost and still don't, really. Oh well. Only in NYC, can you find a casual upscale welcoming "it" place to enjoy a delectable "fancy" incredible tasting veggie mix pizza that was AMAZING Ok, I need to get focused ‍ on why I ventured to Rosetta...the day before Mother's Day. I had to buy my 82 year old mom her all time favorite Italian Cannoli pastry. Totally 100% impressed with Rosetta hospitality, customer care, with beautiful NY Style packaging that was also Fabu. I didn't have to gift wrap my mom's present. And their customer service/care was front and center as soon as you entered this 1st class Italian bakery; across from Lincoln Center. Oh, and I found parking which is rare on a very busy Saturday with a few street crossing that was blocked off. Very rarely do I make an impulsive decision to try a place without checking Yelp out first. Lesson learned. Rosetta bakery looks like a high end bakery, they definitely charge like one too. I got my kids two donuts and two croissants (both filled with chocolate and vanilla custard). I ordered one additional chocolate croissant. Somehow this was over $30. I almost walked out when I saw the price but instead I paid. I should have walked out. I didn't try much of anything but my kids did. They both agreed nothing was good. The didn't even like the donut. They enjoyed the Nutella filling most of all. There is a much better bakery a block and half south. It is expensive too but at least it has quality items. read more

For NYC this place is about 3 stars. For me it was a bad customer experience, a little expensive ($31 for small sandwich, tiny pasty, and water) for walking out still feeling hungry. For some reason the person behind the counter wouldn't tell me what the sandwiches were. The menue just says one word and the bread was orange. He just told me to get the brioche sandwich. I didn't exactly want that one but he flat out refused to answer my question. Also he was super friendly to everyone except me speaking to all of them in Spanish. I'm also fluent in Spanish but I don't appear to be so is that a reason to treat me like a less important customer? I don't know. Then he was really pushing to upsell me on everything. I wanted a tiny pastry (delisious, I got the almond and appple one) but just a little one. He really really tried to push me to get the bigger one. I feel like he was trying to get me to spend $40. It cost me $31 for a decent but not special sandwich, the tiny pastry, a water, and a dollar tip. Everything was tasty but it was expensive and there are so many choices I prob will choose somewhere else next time because it wasn't good enough to be treated like that. read more

Beautiful coffee shop and bakery walking distance from Columbus circle. It's hard not to look through those glass windows and see the beautiful baked desserts and not want to go in and give it a try. They are known for the baked goods both sweet and savory, everything is freshly done everyday so you never have to worry. The lines can be a bit long but the taste of the food will have you forgetting about all of that, my go too are the sweets, mini cannolis with a chocolate chip mixture filling, apricot danish and their tiramisu in a cup.
