Delice Macarons is a perfect Saturday morning treat! I stopped by on my way to Central Park on a late Saturday morning and got the chocolate croissant with chocolate crème inside. It was absolutely delicious not too sweet, which I really appreciated. The service was friendly and helpful, though I was a bit overwhelmed because everything looked so good! The shop has a family-oriented vibe, but there isn't much space inside, so it's more of a grab and go spot. I also highly recommend their cappuccino. I enjoyed sipping it on my way to the park. I threw a baby shower for a colleague and bought the blue birthday macarons from here as part of our array of desserts. The business was accommodating when I had to postpone the pick up date by a month when the baby came early and we had to postpone the party until the mom was well enough to come back. I came here to buy a gift for a dinner party I was attending since I figured macarons were a light, and pretty varied option for dessert. This is a small but very well stocked bakery with lots of baked goods, not just macarons. They have some seating inside and also outside if you want to enjoy your treats there. Alternatively, they are just a short walk away from Central Park and also Theodore Roosevelt park so you can bring your treats there. I got a dozen of their macarons which was the perfect service size for 4-6 people to have a few. The worker who helped me was so kind and gave me recommendations on what flavors were popular/ he liked, as well as helped me make sure the color palette was aesthetic. All the macarons were amazing! Perfectly moist on the inside with just the right amount of filling and a really nicely baked shell. They had the perfect chew to them. My favorites were definitely the raspberry and the earl grey. This morning I went and purchased @ $50 worth of their croissants, a baguette, and several wonderful patisseries for a birthday dinner, all of it was delicious. They never disappoint. However -- 50 cents for the shopping bag so that I could safely get all the goodies home?! You've got to be *n kidding me. Yes, I know about tariffs (the server's excuse/ and she grossly mispronounced the word). I love individual pastries from small pastry shops as they're well made and better ! My top recommendation is the hazelnut pastry , st honore , cream puff like dessert and the almond croissant ! Everything is delicious , you really can't go wrong . What makes the experience even better are the staff / manager / owner . As soon as you walk in , your presence is acknowledged which is great customer service ! I'd been wanting to try this place since it opened up last year. We have so many bakeries in UWS now, it's hard to keep up! Their bread and pastries are facing outside, so it's easier to see them from the outside. The cakes and macarons are displayed beautifully inside. Also on the counter were Nutella muffins and croissants, perfect for Nutella lovers. We got the Plain Croissant and Almond Croissant, which were $4 each and huge. The Plain Croissant was solid and filling. The Almond Croissant was also good for what it was, but it was very flat and tasted a lot sweeter than we'd expected. I really REALLY wanted carbs right after an early Saturday race and fell for this cute, new bakery's window display of various croissants and pastries. Seriously, it's impossible to walk past and ignore it. So happy Delice moved in and took over a long-empty space - I think it used to be some sort of chocolate store? Also, is it just me or has the UWS seen a resurgence of newly opened bakeries and dessert shops? Barachou, Janie's Life Changing Baked Goods, Zai's Dessertery, etc. Plus, Maman's famous chocolate chip cookies. Not that I'm complaining. I want to try them all. Pain au chocolat: So many flaky layers and generous chunks of dark chocolate. I inhaled this. Initially had my eye on the plain croissant but decided I was in need of chocolate and bread together. Almond croissant with creme: Absolutely get this. I regretted getting the other croissant as soon as I took a bite. Quite possibly the best croissant I've ever had. The French lady is a SCAM artist. DO NOT TRUST HER. Ive been duped 2 times now and wasted so much money. She lied about the cake every time. She messed up the shape and the flavor. When I politely asked for her to fix it, she refused and said there was nothing she could do. She never even apologized. These are expensive cakes, and she continues to get orders wrong and does not refund you or even say sorry. The fact she lied to me 2 times in a row is INSANE!! I specially asked for a shape and she specifically said yes. Then it was the wrong shape, and she blamed me for getting the wrong size. What a terrible business woman. Dropped by Delice Macarons on a whim on my way to Chama Mama in the UWS. While I only had a basic croissant, I was pretty impressed by their offerings - liquorice macarons? Brioche? Caneles? Pistachio swirls (that I've been meaning to try since I was in Paris back in 2015)? The croissant I had was light and buttery. Pretty average, but I tasted it hours after I bought it, so I'd have to try it again when fresh for a more accurate assessment. That said, adding a star for the variety. Hard to say how it compares to other bakeries in the area (I live in SF, where this level of variety is unheard of) but giving it only 3 stars wouldn't feel fair, especially when they had pastries that I only remember seeing in Paris. When I saw they were opening I hopeful that they might make up for Maison Kayser leaving. I have tried several of their pastry offerings. My favorite has been the pain aux raisins. It was super moist and flavorful. Their almond croissant is good but seemed slightly to sweet/greasy. Though that likely won't stop me from trying it again! This is one of the best bakeries in the city and probably THE best bakery on the upper west side. The food is delicious and fresh and beautifully presented. The staff is courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. A nice touch is that they know their regular customers and are quick to flag hot baguettes baked on the premises, muffins so light and moist they eat like angel food cake, and more. It is a sweet spot on busy Amsterdam Ave., and small so it is easy to miss. Anyone who prefers fresh baked goods should definitely call by this shop. read more

A lovely little bakery that was just up the street from our hotel. We stopped in for some breakfast pastries. They had a wide variety of sweet (ex: chocolate) and savory (ex: ham and cheese) to choose from. We picked just about one of each. Two of them they warmed up for us and the others were boxed for later. They were perfectly flakey, buttery, and delicious. There is nothing like a fresh croissant. Although in the name, we did not get any macarons. That will have to be for next time. The place is small so bundle up if it is cold outside. You may be standing outside for a little bit to get in as there is only room for a few customers at a time. They did not have any seating (indoor or out), so definitely more of a take out stop.
