    Bakery and coffee shop

While visiting one of the New York offices on a work trip recently, I decided to grab coffee with a colleague in the building which happened to be at Tipsy Baker. I ordered the Cappuccino and the bread pudding while she ordered a latte and the dark chocolate olive oil cake. Upon our return to the office, we split the deserts so we could try each other's as well. I didn't love the cappuccino... if that's even what you'd call it. There seemed to be no foam, no real creaminess to it and just tasted like a coffee with plain milk which was so disappointing. I also don't love how small the cappuccinos are, they were almost the side of a cortado. The bread pudding on the other hand was amazing! Before boxing it, they put an icing/ glaze all over it (they checked with me first) and it was delicious! My colleague tried it and she also thought it was really great! Unfortunately, her olive oil chocolate cake wasn't the same and was pretty dry/ tasteless. All in all, they do have one afternoon desert that was amazing but the cappuccino (which is what I went for) was pretty bad and the other items tried were also not great. Love the convenience, the cute aesthetic and the bread pudding but otherwise, I don't think I'd be back.

Stopped by the tipsy baker for a coffee and I was impressed. The space is super clean and modern. I got the maple iced latte and it was delicious and exactly the afternoon pick me up that I needed! If you're looking for high quality coffee and pastries in midtown, the tipsy baker is it.

Staff was very friendly. Food was ok not many options. Great location if ya wanna be in the thick of things. Priced as ya would this for Manhattan

In the NBC Comcast building. An oasis from chaos, reasonable prices for New York, superior coffee and baked goods. French inspired. Brunch items. Pleasant servers.

Stopped here for a nice glass of champagne before a trip to the Top of the Rock. Had friendly service and really enjoyed the bright but calm ambiance of the place.

Although I haven't sat down and eaten here, I still had a good experience. The iced vanilla latte is really good, and it's pretty sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet at the same time. Service was great; the barista told me she might have forgotten my vanilla syrup, so to taste it and let her know-- which I feel like a lot of baristas wouldn't really care to do. Ambiance looked good from where I was standing to wait for my coffee too, it has nice yellow lights and waiters seem to be attentive.

I ordered a small latte and a medium cappuccino. Latte's are typically made with a shot of espresso while the cappuccino is made with coffee. Both have steamed milk. There is a price difference on the menu with latte's espresso costing more. As the 2nd drink was slid across the counter and described as a medium latte, I replied that they got the order mixed up. The barista explained The Tipsy Baker's "little secret", both lattes and cappuccino are made with coffee and steamed milk". Nice to know there is no espresso used in a latte and you just ripped me off. Thank you.

We love Pain D'Avignon bread and are regulars at our local Cafe D'Avignon coffee shop, so when we heard that the same team would be opening a location that serves dinner and drinks we knew we would have to go. All of the food was excellent, served family-style and in small portions which meant we could try a little of everything. The staff was incredibly attentive and our sommelier was extremely knowledgeable, taking his time to help us pick out some outstanding bottles of organic and biodynamic wine. Overall, we could not be happier with the experience - this place blows everything nearby out of the water!

Wagyu burger and tahini with bread. Yum!

Nice quick bite if you're at the Rockefeller Center. Split the burger so they cut it in half for us and gave an extra plate, which is nice. Cute vibes and not too busy when we went on a week night.

The Tipsy Baker is a great place to sneak in to grab a hot cup of coffee on a cold day in da City when dragging visitors to Rockefeller Center (take the escalator downstairs from the NBC Studios Marquee, adjacent to the Observation Deck line)--once downstairs it's around the corner. Our group enjoyed a fresh baked scone, chocolate croissant, a bread pudding with lattes all around. The Topsy Baker wait staff is also quite helpful with seating & service--but be patient, as it's always a beehive in this part of NYC!!

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

We also wanted to try a classic pastrami on rye--but without committing to the long lines at Katz's Delicatessen. Sarge's ended up being the perfect alternative, just a quick five-minute walk from our hotel. We arrived around 5:00 pm on a Sunday and were seated right away, which already felt like a win. The meal started with coleslaw and both a half sour and full sour pickle--such a classic deli touch, and a great way to kick things off. I ordered the half sandwich with matzah ball soup, and the portion sizes were no joke. The soup alone could have been a full meal: a huge bowl with an equally massive matzah ball. The broth was warm and soothing, and the matzah ball was incredibly light with a perfect texture. The half pastrami on rye was just as impressive. Even "half" was stacked high with flavorful, tender pastrami. Adding a bit of mustard from the table brought everything together--it was simple, classic, and exactly what I was hoping for. Not only was it one of the more reasonably priced meals of the trip, but it was also genuinely satisfying. If you're looking for a no-fuss, traditional deli experience without the wait, Sarge's is a great option.
