Veggie delight (back) & the front one was from special menu (thick noodles with red and yellow curry sauce)

Everything was so good! Speedy service, friendly waiters, and the food was delicious! The veggie delight wasn't spicy at all and it was so fresh! Nice portion sizes. Then we had a dish where you could choose the spice level. We had level 1 (options are 1-5) and thought it was pretty spicy for being the lowest level, so keep that in mind!

3.5/5 stars for me. The papaya salad was way too salty. Drunken noodles weren't flavorful or had the umami flavor. The pork skewers were quite tough and the flavor was also lacking. The one dish that stood out was the pineapple fried rice but still not the best in town. I did like the sweet sausages. Cute vibes, plenty of seating outside. Service was good though. Our waitress was sweet.

Our friends wanted to eat here so we joined them for dinner. This was our second time at Rose's Kitchen. It was 90 degrees outside so we opted to sit inside the trailer hoping for AC. It was hot and stuffy in there and sitting outside may have been a better option. We brought our own wine and the waiter provided glasses. He was very attentive as we were the only customers at 4:30. The 3 cheese rolls ($5.99) were small, delicious, stuffed with cream cheese and served with a green sauce. Nice change from a regular egg roll. I had yellow curry with pork ($13.99) served with white rice. Overall, the dish had good flavor but the pork seemed a bit tough. Others had pineapple fried rice ($14.99) and said they enjoyed it. I think this was my last visit to Rose's Kitchen as I felt it wasn't a true restaurant experience but charged restaurant prices.

They've been in this location for 2 years and have recently opened a Thai cuisine restaurant on east slaughter. Definitely recommend. Everything we ordered was freshly prepared and tasted great. The papaya salad has a strong fish taste. As it should, but make sure you like that if you have a normal western palate. It was very good. I ate the entire order by myself. I had the pad see ew at 3 (of 5) spicy. I could have eaten 4 but I wouldn't have enjoyed it. If you're a white American who likes spicy food at a "anything a typical Mexican restaurant throws at you" level i recommend stopping at 3. I would have gotten the sticky mango rice but I was too full. I don't know why I haven't gone before but I'll definitely be back. Also, the owner was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Rose's Kitchen shows potential, but ultimately falls short. In true Asian family style, we ordered an assortment of dishes to share. We had the Siamese Cheese Rolls, Papaya Salad, Pad See Ew, Thai Chicken Wings and the Tom Yum Soup. The good: -The standout for us was the Tom Yum soup--it had the perfect balance of kaffir lime and spices, with shrimp that were tender and not overcooked. -The wings were not horrendous, I loved the crispiness of it, but wings served at an Asian restaurant should not be served with ranch... the sauce on the wings should do all the work. The bad: -The Pad See Ew had too little sauce while the beef was overcooked and chewy. Pad See Ew is traditionally served with Chinese Broccoli, but instead regular broccoli was used and put too much crunch/texture on this -The Papaya Salad was drenched in fish sauce and lime instead of delicately being flavored -The Siamese Cheese Rolls should not even be on the menu, as they were essentially just fried egg roll wrappers stuffed with cream cheese. -I didn't like how the food was served on disposable plates-- it didn't make the food any better or worse, but it didn't do the place justice

The food was good. Egg rolls were kinda on the small side. I asked for a side of chili oil. It seemed kinda off. My stomach hurt for the rest of the day. I would go again though, just no chili oil. Don't fault them for the presentation in the picture below. They thought I was getting my food to go, but I was actually eating it there. They brought it out in takeaway packaging, and then when they realized I was staying they brought out a plate for me. I'm the one who put it on the plate. I'm sure if they had plated it themselves it would've looked better.

We love Rose's and are so very excited to see this location transform! The owners are incredible - so friendly and WOW they make excellent food! Been on the forever hunt for good Thai food in Austin (which, is quite the hunt), and this place was such a slam dunk! Some of the other reviews mention it's difficult to find Rose's - not the case! They had a great sign and even string lights to light your way. It's a 1 way in, different dedicated way out for easy traffic flow with parking once you arrive. They are going to be transforming this location, which is so exciting! The patio is very welcoming, and they also have indoor seating. We dined in and were so wonderfully greeted and served. They are still cooking out of the truck until they get their new kitchen setup, but everything still came out fast and delicious and was brought right to us inside. It was a chill Saturday night for dinner, but apparently just the prior night it was packed with folks eating there before heading out for spring break. The food: GREAT! The pad Thai was some of the best you could ask for, and THE FAMILY RECIPE GREEN CURRY was such a great mix of warm curry, fresh ingredients, and flavor without being overly sweet. I asked for a "medium" spice and supposedly got it without any extra added & it was actually the perfect level of spice and flavor for me. Yum! We will be back to try some of the other in house favorites such as the burger (trust these people, they know MANY trades), the thai tea, and the desserts!

I have been eager to try this place for a while as I've seen the great reviews and mouthwatering pictures of their food. I ordered delivery which I received through DoorDash. The food arrived piping hot. The Thai fried rice could have used more flavor, and the Pad Kee Mao dish was flavorful, but the noodles were stuck together, making it hard to reheat. The meat in both dishes was over cooked. The Thai eggs rolls were tasty, and had a nice crunch. I ordered the mango and sticky rice for dessert, which had too much coconut milk and the mango was too tart. Overall solid food. Would love to go and order at the location next time, but I understand that parking there is tricky.

It's used to be a food truck, they upgraded it to a restaurant now. It's a family owned business and they just moved in to the building so there's some understandable hiccups along the way. We ordered and it took 40 minutes for the food to come out. I hope the service will improve as they get the restaurant running. Fried rice level 3 spicy: it is spicy but tasty. As soon as the server brought the food in, the fragrance filled up the room. Siamese cheese rolls: crunchy and fresh. It's wrapped in rice paper and deep fried. Mango avocado rolls: it's light and refreshing with tons of veggies wrapped in a rice paper. Pad kee mao level 2 spicy: probably the best dish we ordered.

We did takeout from this place. We ordered a yellow chicken curry, red chicken curry, pad thai, fried rice, and cheese rolls. While we did takeout, the folks working there were very nice Even after a 30 min drive home all of the food was delicious! The sauce that came with the cheese rolls was perfection and the cheese rolls were still so crispy! For rangoon lovers, you would enjoy it! I just wished they would have had 4 or 5 rolls for the price. When I came home and opened the yellow and red curry, I could smell the distinct flavors of each curry. Some Thai places have the same base flavors for their curries, but this was not the case here. The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. As a pad thai lover, it was pretty good, but felt there could have been cilantro and peanuts added to it. The fried rice was a bit bland, but I'm thinking that may have intentionally been done so it takes the flavors of the curry a little better. I feel like there could have been some more soy sauce or seasoning to the fried rice because without a curry, it was a bland. I would still drive 30 mins for the food here because it was delicious!

A great little spot! The menu is a true mix of American and Thai classics but everything was so good, they really pull it off! The brussels sprouts were among the best I've had and the green chili mac was fantastic as well. We ordered the Thai fried rice with sausage upon Mrs. Rose's recommendation and were so glad we did! The service was phenomenal - the owners and waiter were so kind and attentive. We brought our own wine and they offered cups, bottle openers, and even to chill our wine in between glasses and refill it for us. Definitely great to keep in mind for the summertime! The weather was perfect while we were there outside but they mentioned getting misting fans for the summer, which would definitely help with outdoor dining in the heat. Overall, I see this becoming a laid back South Austin staple! read more

Very cool spot and even cooler owners. Food was delicious. We started with spicy edamame and siamese cheese rolls. The chili sauce used on the spicy edamame was epically good! We got level 2 heat with those. Level 3 was very spicy so if you can't handle the heat, get out of Rose's Kitchen. Our entree was the Pad Lee Mao with chicken, just different levels of heat. We will be back. BTW, we got a cool story of the new indoor eating house and it was great. Make sure to ask about it. Can't wait to go back! read more

My fiancé and his friend went here for dinner and they both loved it! The amazing owner gave my fiancé a portion of green curry to bring home for me to try which was so nice and not expected at all! The curry was SO GOOD and great over rice! 100% support this business. read more

We had the Green Curry and Red Curry - super yummy and highly recommend. Clean and healthy ingredients - good level of spicy at level 4/5 but not uncomfortably spicy (for my palette). Friendly staff as well. Definitely recommend! read more

We wanted to try something new so we stopped by Rose's for pickup. Ordering over the phone was easy and it was ready in 15 minutes which was a positive. The location is tucked back down a gravel drive that's easy to miss when driving north to south so be ready for the small entrance. Once you're back in the area it's large and nice- decent amount of parking. The house looks like it's under renovations, but only part of it. The food truck is where you pickup the order, and they were friendly. There's lots of seating outside and a stage. When we got home the food was just not as good as we would have liked. I got the Thai fried rice with chicken and it was just okay. I also got a spicy level 2 out of 5 and honestly there were too many hot chili flakes on it and that altered the taste for me. The cucumbers also didn't taste fresh or have a crunch. My bf got the pad Thai and extremely did not like it. Unfortunately we didn't like the food, and it's also a bit of drive from us so I don't think we'll be back read more

this is the best thai food I've ever had. I normally avoid Thai restaurants because of typical brown goppy-syrupy sauces, but this was not like that! very flavorful with real fresh ingredients, peppers, etc. you can choose your spice level. it was delicious. good portions and our relatively large to-go order was ready on time with friendly staff. I noticed very peaceful outdoor and indoor areas- nice, sneaky spot! read more

So dang good. The green curry is out of this world. The spring rolls are really good, as is the dipping sauce. Try the brisket ones too. They're great. All the noodle dishes are done really well, and they're very respectful of desired spice level. No heat is truly no heat, medium is very fun, and spicy is... I love their food. read more

My friend and I tried Roses' Kitchen for lunch and were wowed by this little spot tucked inside of a gas station. What a pleasant surprise! I had the Thai green chicken curry which was tender with just the right amount of spice. My food was so yummy that I ordered the special Tilapia dish to go for my hubby's dinner. The owner and his helpers were also so wonderful to talk to. The owner's wife is Thai and the restaurant's inspiration comes from her. This place gives credence to the saying "don't judge a book by its cover." read more

Best chicken curry in town! Best to order to go as the gas station is not the greatest place to sit but they do have very nice tables set up. Owners are there every day and are very friendly. Have not tried everything on the menue but what I have had was very good. read more

We used to love this place. We order through Door Dash, never been to the restaurant because the vibe and location is odd. A couple months ago, my husband and I both got sick after eating there. I don't know that it was the food that made us sick or a coincidence, but we stayed away for a while. Tonight we ordered from there for the first time since then and my Pad Si Ew tasted like cigarette smoke. Don't know that we'll be ordering again... read more

Tried this place based on Yelp reviews, plus the fact that I love Thai food. When I purchase food that is prepared in a convenience store, I zero in on the food quality, and Rose's Kitchen did not disappoint. I will not elaborate on the specifics of what I ordered, suffice to say that I am confident that anything I order in the future will be of the same quality as what was consumed last evening. Sat outside at the lone picnic table, owner brought out the food we had ordered inside. Great people, very reasonably priced. Will return anytime I'm in that part of town. Might even try the sandwiches or burgers! read more

We dined indoors because of the weather the ambiance inside was clean calm and relaxing. The service was great with only one waitress and less than ideal weather she really held things down, running food from the kitchen outside to inside. Rose's kitchen is now the weekend date spot for me and my husband. We came across this place when searching for a Reuben sandwich and we couldn't be happier. The owners are always playing the best playlist of jazz or Motown classics. You can choose between indoor and outdoor seating (whatever you're feeling that night). Our food came out so fast and fresh that we barely had to wait at all. The menu is so unique in that it is a blend of specialties from both the owners of the restaurant (an American veteran and his Thai wife). My husband to enjoy some the best and most authentic pad thai while I get to satisfy my Reuben cravings! During our first meal there, we were so impressed with the food and the service that we made this our regular weekend spot. read more

This spot had been on my list for a while, and I was so excited to finally try it! From the moment I walked in, the cozy and welcoming ambiance made it feel like home. The staff greeted us warmly, which set the tone for an enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, they were out of chicken satay, so we hesitated before trying the pork satay--but it turned out to be a great decision! The pork was incredibly tender, packed with flavor, and possibly the best satay I've ever had. It was a perfect balance of char and seasoning. We also ordered veggie spring rolls, which were crispy, golden, and cooked to perfection. The red curry was another highlight, bursting with rich, complex flavors and just the right amount of heat. If you're not a fan of spice, definitely go for level 1--we tried level 3, and even as spice lovers, we found it intense but enjoyable. The drunken noodles were equally impressive, with bold flavors and a satisfying mix of textures. While the portion was small, it was just right for one person. To end the meal, we had mango sticky rice, one of my all-time favorite desserts. Sadly, the rice was undercooked, which was a bit disappointing. However, the sweet mango balanced it out, and I'd still be eager to give it another shot next time. As much as I wanted to also love this place it just wasn't anything special. We waited almost an hour for our meals, and since they're still working on the inside of the restaurant there was limited seating. The food was disappointing .What made the whole experience worse was that there was a huge group behind us laughing so loud that it echoed in the house. They were laughing as a comedian show, they had no social awareness. I got the veggie delight, there was no cabbage which is fine but also disappointing. I opted to get two proteins instead. Since it took so long they compensated me with rice, however the rice was extremely soggy. Our waiter was fine though! I could see he was trying.
