My family and I have been coming to Rosemead optometry for a long time from a young age for services from glasses, to contacts, to athletic eye inujries you name it. I've always had eye problems so i had to go in quite often. I was hesitant to continue coming here when my old optometrist Dr. Pham left I considered switching to someone closer to me. But my sister went in for her regular exam and contact replacement and had nothing but glowing reviews for Dr. Tran. I decided to come in after that and see what my sister was talking about. Of course my old trusted optometrist Dr. Pham would choose someone top tier to take over Rosemead optometry when she moved on. Dr. Tran is the best. She really cares for her patients and has gone above and beyond for me. She personally called me for my contacts follow up when she definitely could've had her office admins do it to make sure I had all my questions addressed and that I didnt need anything else. The last thing that I can't stress enough on any review I do is that you have to go in and meet your health care provider to really see and get a feel for them. if they just want your business or if they really care about your health and deserves to be a part of your medical team. For me I saw Dr. Tran really cares deeply about her profession and really makes a big effort to understand my specific needs. Overdue review. My experience when Dr. Susan Tran took over was okay about 2 years ago, but I felt uncomfortable once she told me she did not think I was a good candidate for LASIK. However, I have been told before from the former doctor I was for many years. Also, I felt really ripped off when I purchased my contacts from them. One of receptionist said I could get $100 rebate for my contacts if I got my contacts with them, so I placed the order with them. When I went to pickup my contacts a different receptionist told me there was no such rebate for my contacts. As a result, I had to pay the full price of $400 for my contacts. I could have saved 20% if I just bought it at Lensmart. Just really felt it became a dishonest place. Since then, I decided to stay loyal with the former doctor of Rosemead Optometry, Dr. Pham who is now in Artesia. read more

I have been to many different optometrists in the 626 and Rosemead Optometry is the BEST place I have ever been to!! The ambiance of the office is very comfortable and it makes you feel right at home. The office is very modern and the sound of Backstreet Boys in the background is always a plus right? Each member of the team is extremely friendly and helpful. Anna has a niche when it comes to finding the right frames for your face. The 3 different receptionists I have met have been nothing more than helpful. Dr. Susan Tran is absolutely AMAAAAAAAZING!!! She is a diamond in the rough. She is intelligent, personable, caring, sweet, and great at her job. The list goes on and on and on. Great optometry! I liked the look and design of this optometry, and thats before I got my glasses. After I got my glasses, I absolutely loved this place even more! Other yelpers have mentioned an awesome Vegas-like bathroom. In the few times I was in the optometry, the bathroom has always been super clean. The frame selection is pretty big, from all sorts of acetate to metal, to a combination of both, but I'm a simple guy and Dr. Tran and the other manager there (Ana?) helped me choose a frame that fit my frame nicely. Everyone has complimented "my choice" (Actually Dr. Tran's choice) of eyeglasses. When I first started coming here dr. Thuy Pham she was amazing and always gave me her honest opinion on my vision. Switching eye care providers to Rosemead Optometry was the best decision ever! I live 45 miles away and it's worth it!! Dr. Susan and her staff made me feel very comfortable. She is in the know with new procedures out there and is very attentive, I've never had such personalized service as I have received here. My daughter has a high prescription and Dr. Susan went out of her way to make her feel comfortable and answered all our questions without hesitation. Where do I begin? I don't write yelp reviews but I had to share my experience here at Rosemead Optometry. Dr. Tran is one of the few genuine doctors that I have ever met and she really cares about you. I moved to New York years ago but I make sure I come back to see Dr. Tran for my annual visits because it's really hard to find good doctors you can trust out there. I recently lost my contacts and I had board exams coming up where I definitely needed my contacts in order to be comfortable during my exam. I called the office from NY and they quickly shipped me a new pair in time for me to take my board exams! Dr. Tran also personally called me to make sure I got them in time and followed up with me. My family has been going to Rosemead Optometry for years. It was Dr. Thuy Pham but now it's Dr. Susan Tran. This review is about Dr. Tran. She is very friendly, thorough, and genuinely care about her patients. I also notice she make it a point to call her patients by their name which give it a personal touch. I always make an appointment and she always see me on time. Punctuality is a plus for me. I love their selections of glasses and sunglasses. I also have to mention Anna (Ana- not sure the exact spelling of her name) who has been the receptionist since day one. I am very indecisive when choosing my eyewear. Anna is very patience with me AND when it comes down to the last two pairs... I always ask for her opinion. I'm someone who likes instant gratifications so I love their fast service. I've ordered my prescription sunglasses on a Wednesday and got a call the Monday after to come and pick it up. Below is the breakdown of how I gave them 5 stars: 1 star: Dr.Tran is very thorough. She tells me every step of the way during the exam. What a terrific experience for my first optical prescription and glasses! From start to finish everyone was extraordinarily helpful and patient. I was greeted by Anna, she was able to answer my initial questions about how the process worked and made me feel very at ease. I was able to use my favorite pair of sunglass frames and have the lenses swapped out for my prescription. They have a wide array of brands and styles for purchasing new frames. They were so accommodating to my multitude of questions as a newbie to prescription glasses and showed me all the different types of lenses, coatings and tints. Visiting Rosemead Optometry was a great experience. They took the time and precision to adjust my glasses to fit my face perfectly! I've taken my glasses to many places and been fitted and they'll usually fall down my face or pinch the sides of my head after a few days. Dr. Tran and her staff took their time to do everything efficiently and diligently, especially the office manager Ana who was knowledgeable about the different lens options and their prices. As a person with vision problems, I've been to 20+ optometrists over the years and never have I enjoyed an appointment as much as this one. Sometimes when you see this many 5 Star reviews, it makes you skeptical of how they achieved that rating. I can assure you they earn it. Just FYI, Dr. Tran doesn't use the puff of air test for glaucoma. That was the reason I drove all the way to Rosemead Optometry and boy am I glad I did. read more

Dr. Tran took me in on the online appointment system, which I booked late at night. She was very thorough and gave me a lot of insight about getting Lasik. She has experience in that type of office, which she used to answer a lot of my lingering questions I have had for many years. This review is for Dr Susan Tran. Ive only written maybe 3 reviews. Im only behooved to write anything when someone WRONGS ME or offers me EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. Dr Susan Tran is absolutly amazing. She is super friendly, very knowledge, easy to talk to and takes the time to educate you about your eyes (not something every dr will do with compassion). Its a sccary thing not knowing what the hell is happening to your eyes but Dr Tran went above and beyond the norm to make sure my issue was resolved AND to make sure I rested assured. As a result, I felt relaxed and reallly comfortable. I felt a lot better knowing what was going on and what to expect. I mean, wow, Ive been through Kaiser and other optometrists and sure, they offer good service but Dr Tran offers GREAT service with a friendly touch. Dr Tran is not only a Dr but I feel that she is also a friend who cares! I love her passion and energy for what she does. I was referred to Dr. Tran by a friend who highly recommended her and I can say wholeheartedly that I was not disappointed with my experience. She is truly knowledgeable, affable and considerate. I won't pretend that I know much about the eyes; generally I just want to see clearly and call it good. Dr. Tran took the time to answer my questions in a well thought out manner so that I could understand. I have had optometrists that try to blow you away with big words but that really doesn't mean much if the message isn't getting across. She knows what she's talking about and she can convey that information so that anyone can understand. Plus the exam itself was a breeze. No puffs into your eyes! It is hard to find a healthcare professional that actually cares about the patient without trying to make an extra buck. However with Dr. Tran it is not the case. She puts the patient's needs and concerns at the forefront and tries to give them the best options available without pressuring them into any decisions. For that itself I highly respect her. Dr. Tran is my mom's optometrist but I would stop by whenever I am in town. She is wonderful, very friendly and knowledgeable. She even sent my contacts to me in Michigan! When I had issues due to my allergies, she had no problem returning my lenses and took her time finding me the perfect ones. I didn't come in for an optometry appointment but for glasses selection instead with an existing prescription from elsewhere (was looking to purchase the exact same pair of prescribed sunglasses I purchased here 2 years ago...), so I can't speak for the actual eye care portion. And from my limited interaction with Dr. Tran, she seems nice and friendly enough. However, her staff is a completely different story. I started by going up to the front desk and telling the woman behind the counter I was simply there to purchase the exact same pair of sunglasses I had purchased 2 years back and that I wanted to ensure they a) still accepted my insurance and b) knew what the coverage was. After looking me up in the system and reading through my coverage several times, she was still confused about the coverage. I then tried to explain to her my coverage at least 3-4 times but she was still confused. After another try, she gave up and said, "whatevers, I am just going to charge our price for the pair here, and if any problem comes up, then that's your problem and you need to take it up with your insurance company and not us" uh... OK, I just kind of took it for what it was and moved on without thinking about it too much. As the process continued, the "business manager" came out and gave me the price I would be paying. I noticed the price was twice what I had to pay 2 years ago for the exact same pair of glasses (that probably depreciated as newer models came out) and four times more expensive than they are being sold by the manufacturer online. I understand retail prices are higher and businesses need to make money but it was that much higher? So at that moment, all I wanted was to inquire about the difference in price. Maybe the parameters changed or some other details changed? When I asked the "business manager" this, she didn't know the answer, didn't know the basics, didn't know the breakdown in cost, didn't show me any papers breaking down the cost, didn't believe me when I told her I got it 2 years ago at half the price she was giving me now until I told her to look it up in the system, and just seemed very lost in what she was doing and confused in the details of glasses costs. Then, she said, "I am the business manager here and the price is whatever I set it to be" I then asked if I could talk to someone who might know more about the price breakdowns and she then responded with the same, " I am the business manager boss here, and I am the one who determines the price, not anyone else" Then, I asked to speak with Dr. Tran whenever she is available (she was with a patient at the time and I didn't want to disturb), and this "business manager" tried really hard to convince me out of talking to Dr. Tran, and then said something that implied/insinuated she didn't care what Dr. Tran thinks anyways even if I did talk to her. The whole thing just felt really odd. At the end, after a 40 mins wait, I was able to get ahold of Dr. Tran, and she was able to explain everything to me in details (which I really appreciated!). After Dr Tran's explanation, the price seemed more reasonable and I would have gone along with it, except I was so turned off by the idea of interacting with the business manager and the front person again that I just made an excuse and left without getting anything. Anyways, overall, I felt the staff was very rude and, honestly, extremely unprofessional and ill-equipped to handle their jobs. read more

Wow, the staff and doctor is really helpful and friendly. The place is really clean and they have some phone chargers for you when you wait. This review is loooooonnggggg overdue. This was my first experience getting glasses and it is by far the best. Upon entering, the staff welcomed me and gave me great service. Dr. Tran is very nice. A Truly genuine person who cares about her customers. After examining my eyes, I got my prescription and went looking for glasses. I even got a discount!! Jackpot! Honestly, the service is great.
