This was such a great place for brunch. The staff were very friendly and service was fast. I've been here a couple of times and the food was consistently delicious both times. I really enjoyed their fruit flavored infused water and it was a different flavor each visit. First visit I had the breakfast sandwich and second visit the full breakfast, and highly recommend either one. From the water to your meal, they add nice little details of flavorings or seasonings, and this is what makes them so unique. You must order their homemade biscuit, it is yummy! We were looking for a cute place to have lunch while visiting the Gold Rush Country. We wanted something more old-time and homey; we remember Rosebud's when it was a cute old diner style place so we stopped in. Initially we were taken aback by the trendy decor and unusual menu. We left, but then decided to go back in, because, really there was nothing else open! We were really pleased that we gave them a chance. The service was very good; the server/hostess was delightful, making suggestions. We enjoyed our lunch of sandwiches, creatively prepared. The fruit flavored water was surprisingly refreshing! What an experience! Stumbled on this place on the way to Tahoe and I'm glad we went through downtown jackson ! I tried 4 different dishes today ranging from the omelet to the pork belly slamwich and all of them are delicious, with a sweet fresh feel to them. My family and I went to Rosebud's Cafe for years as an after party hangout spot for breakfast. The last time we made the trip we found out the had closed and were super sad. Loved the dinerish atmosphere, great service and good food. I recently found out that they not only have reopened but are trying to move into a more farm to table style of food and I honestly can't wait to try it! Well my wife and two of our good friends went here for dinner my buddy and I had the brisket our wife's had the salmon. Thank god they like the salmon but the brisket well lets put it this way you pay around 19 bucks for the dinner and you get a plate full of greens burnt dip fried mashed potato's and four I say four thin slices of brisket about five inches long if we was lucky what a disappointment. I have had lunch and breakfast there with no problem but my friends an I will not return to bad if I wanted a green salad I would have ordered one an being 19 bucks for what I got well it wont happen again .. read more

Rosebuds has delicious food. I don't think anyone would be disappointed eating there. HOWEVER, be mindful they close at 2 apparently. I don't believe I have ever been treated with more hostility. The problem started when one in our party was late. Instead of talking to us and letting us know our 4th guest would not be accommodated as the kitchen would be closed, they proceeded to cook and serve the part of the order that had been made, then told us too bad our 4th wouldn't be served. Awkward. Simply letting us know prior would have enabled us to go somewhere else. It went downhill from there. We were clearly not welcome today. No water refills, no check to see if we needed anything, and I'm not sure the music could go much louder. I'm very disappointed as I really like Rosebuds, but now I'm not sure I want to return. Best breakfast in Jackson Hands down!!! We had the two eggs with homemade sourdough toast and fried red potatoes. Also we had the apple French toast !! They were both perfect ! All the food is 100% organic and the owners raise their own chickens, pigs and lamb. Most of the ingredients come from the owners farm in Ione. This is a must if you are in the Jackson area. The restaurant has light live jazz music most days and the decor is a rustic cafe. The service was great and the owner was a very sweet lady! I know we will be back very soon!!!! read more

Just ate at Rosebud's cafe for the first time. The food was absolutely delicious at this family owned and operated restaurant.We had the absolute pleasure of having one of the family members Tye wait on us. He is an absolute pleasure! We had a misunderstanding on our part and he just corrected it and made it all better. It was the least painful experience I have ever had when dealing with an potentially awkward situation. We have been going to rosebud's for many years , we love the food love the farm to fork restaurant and love the family atmosphere. We went last weekend ordered our normal brunch , Eggs Benni for me my husband ordered the Old School his favorite , I had a lemon mimosa and he had a Bloody Mary no different than usual . Unfortunately soon as they brought the drinks he accidentally knocked his over. we flagged the waitress down and asked for something to clean it up . She brought us a towel handed it to us and walked away we needed at least two or three towels seeings it was a full drink, she dropped another off never offering to help clean it up . OK I can deal with that but thought it was very unusual for the server to not to help clean it up. We cleaned everything up on our own and had to ask her to take the towels away. We asked for another Bloody Mary and she happily brought it to us. When we checked out our bill it had two bloody Marys at $9.00 per each. I asked them if they could at least take 1/2 off for the spilt drink that he Never tasted . The owner would not agree to that she said it was your fault not ours. We paid our $88 dollar bill and will never return again. We eat here often and spend at least $75.00 for our brunch or meal when we go . We have no problem spending good money for good food But we didn't like the fact we had to clean up our mistake and that the owner would not even consider splitting the spilt drink with us. I'm in the professional food business myself and we would never of treated a patron this way. Specially one that comes in on a regular basis. read more

Been here a few times with my boyfriend, we ALWAYS order beignets to start. Never disappointed with them, they come with cut seasonal fruit, and homemade jams. I'm no surprise when it comes to ordering, I religiously make my own breakfast sandwich and tend to be a little predictable as some would say... focaccia Medium egg Sausage Arugula Pepper jack Literally the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. My boyfriend tends to be more rebellious and orders something new - don't worry, I always get a few bites of his as well ;) - Time before last he ordered the monte cristo, delicious. It is served with a berry sauce that the server recommended to take home and put on ice cream - yeah, that happened and it was to die for - Today he ordered a philly with spuds on the side - SO MUCH YESSSS - Lemme tell you, this guy never eats any sort of greens, but he could not get enough of the bell peppers and jalapeños. We both agreed this is our favorite breakfast spot. Service is always spot on, my only critique is I always want a full glass of water... but nobody reads minds. Love this place, love the ambiance, love the food. Went there on a whim with a group of 6. All had different meals from the sliders to burgers, to sandwiches. All of which we couldn't stomach finishing, even my 5yr old who eats everything. Not sure if it was an off day for the cook, but I've been many places in my time and this might be the worst food I've ever had when compared to how much I spent (final bill with only one extra drink was over 100$!). Lovely service - waitress (Megan I think) was very nice and attentive. The infused water (watermelon) was delicious. The coffee however had an extreme tang to it - as a lot of organic coffees do. My beau who drinks a pot a day couldn't get even a cup down. The food was really good - had the #3 breakfast sandwich and the brisket and eggs - super crispy delicious brisket. A little road trip miracle! On our way back from Tahoe we sort of got lost and hungry. By a miracle, stumbled into this place... The food was divine, extremely flavorful and thoroughly creative. I had their quiche and a salad with molasses balsamic dressing, Wow! My husband had Apple French toast which was equally beautifully presented and delicious. My husband and I were wandering around downtown Jackson on our first trip there for our wedding anniversary. We were hungry and stopped into Rosebud's on a whim. The farm fresh ingredients caught our eyes immediately and although it was a little pricier than normal cafe fare, it was apparent immediately where our extra dollars were going. I wish I had gotten our server's and the chef's names (Facebook Stalking hopefully will help) because they were both worth writing about. I had the fish and chips with the fried red potatoes. Let me tell you, potatoes are my thing. My favorite food by far, and I warned the server that I'd be critical of the potatoes... and they did NOT disappoint. By far the best potato side dish I've ever had. Crispy and flavorful on the outside and soft potatoey goodness on the inside. The fish was fried perfectly and the portions are SPECTACULAR!!! I was so intrigued by the tartar sauce (it was different than Id ever had) so I asked the cutie with the beard behind the counter what was in it. Didn't know he was the Head Chef!! He went into detail explaining what was special about his recipe.. and we were delighted to hear it! Hubs had the Rosebud burger with carmelized onions and fries. He was thrilled with the quality and had to stop eating because he was full, but it tasted so good, he finished it anyway!!! When we got our drinks, I asked for a straw, not thinking anything of it. I'm a straw whore. I put straws in everything. When the server brought me my straw, she brought me three options: paper, plastic or metal. I had NEVER had a straw option before. She also handed me a little card about how much straws pollute the ocean. I knew about plastic bottles, but straws had never occured to me!! Being a staunch environmentalist, when I told our server that i wish i had metal straws at home, she presented me with a package of metal straws for sale and gave me the newspaper article about their movement started by a young girl named Maggie Swift. I bought my metal straws and I love them, Rosebud's cares about its town and it shows. The next time we go to Jackson, Rosebud's WILL be on our stop list for a meal. Go there. Wow. Accidently took a wrong turn from Tahoe and ended up in Jackson where I stumbled upon this gem! Ordered the first item on the breakfast menu, the mini beignets. As not a normal item on most menus, I was unsure of what to expect. Not this! Light, fluffy, with a bit of chewiness. Accompanied by in-house made jam, fresh apples, figs, and cantaloupe. The seasonal produce is from Majestic Oak Farm right down the road, as well as their eggs. The figs were so flavorful and ripe, and the jam paired well with the beignets and dollop of créme fraiche. They also have delicious mimosas with choice of juice, and their local watermelon is used to infuse their water. Overall, an amazing way to start a Sunday and will definitely be back to try the eggs if I pass through here again! read more

Amazing!!! My advice - do not pass through Jackson without stopping here for breakfast or lunch. I had the smoked brisket dip - thin sliced, slow smoked brisket with a side au jus and the red potatoes that are smashed and deep fried. My husband had the pesto chicken sandwich on fresh baked focaccia bread. Make sure to get the water! It's infused with watermelon and is crisp and refreshing. Finally, fresh baked, double chocolate cookies for dessert. It was so good! Plus the service was great :) we will definitely be back soon - it was worth the drive! read more

Last time I came here was about 10 years ago. My have they changed! It's gone from classic diner to a full and fresh farm to table experience. Ordering vegan/vegetarian can be risky in small towns but not at Rosebuds. I picked my least favorite vegetarian combo to order at a restaurant: BBQ tofu and veggies... And it was AMAZING! Very pleasantly surprised. They didn't skimp on anything and they carefully marinated the tofu in their homemade sauce. Very flavorful combination. The coffee was wonderful and the breads were fresh and delicious. 5 stars. The ambience is open and clean too and it's all run by a local family farm. Superb. Definitely worth being late to the slopes for a nice hot tasty breakfast. read more
