We have a backyard rat problem. Our backyard seems to be the rat superhighway for the entire neighborhood. Reading the Yelp reviews, we turned to Rose. The person who came out to do an assessment was very nice. We developed a plan where he would put down three traps and put glass into the holes. We paid $250 and were promised he would come back to re-stock the traps and to continue to put glass in the holes. However, after he came out to put out the traps, and put some glass and our own stones in the holes, we have never seen him again. The traps have not been refilled. I feel like we could have saved a lot of money by buying our own traps and putting our own stones in the holes. Not at all worth the money. EDIT-Was contacted by customer service a week ago in response to this post. They apologized and I was told they would look into this. Since that email we have received no follow-up. Downgraded to one star. I would stay away. read more

I'm having mixed emotions about Rose Pest but regardless 3 stars is not my final review, I will update my final review once were done with the whole exterminating process. Unfortunately, our 2nd fl neighbors got beg bugs and they became so infested & tried fixing the problem on their own, which only made it worse & had those little creatures coming down to my apt downstairs as well as my sister in laws apt on the 3rd fl. I then started realizing that what my 2 year old daughter had on her arm wasn't mosquito bites- it was Bed Bug bites!!! I tried looking for them in our room & couldn't find any on our box spring/mattress. My sister in law hired Rose Pest & they came to inspect & give us a free quote. The lady that came was very nice & proffesional- however just like me she didn't find anything. That same day- I discovered WE DIDNT HAVE BED BUGS ON OUR BED, but I saw them on this blanket we had nailed on to our bedroom wall!!!! Yes the wall! & my daughter slept right next to the wall. I then became itchy everywhere, devastated & have been having SLEEPLESS nights since then.. We gathered the $$ for the exterminating process which was 2100$ & paid it full cash... About 11 days ago 2 guys came to do the first process. Ok this is where I'm more iffy about them... The guys came in- pretty friendly, the instructions clearly said that we had to leave 3-4 hours, so I was just changing my 7 month olds diaper so we can head out the door & without hesitating they started spraying the living room- the rooms- & as soon as I was done with putting my sons pants back on they were apparently "done". I was pretty surprised how they were supposedly DONE & proceeded to the next apt, when they hadn't yet sprayed our couches, our frames, the baby's bassinet, our shoes, our closets as stated on the instructions! They followed by saying how we got rid of most of our furniture & there wasn't anything to spray on, they even thanked us for making their job easy.. But honestly that wasn't our intention. Our intention was to cooperate the best we can, to follow every step, from washing drying & putting all our clothes in bags, to taking down frames so they can get treated ETC... Everything possible to get rid of those crawling things! I want my sleep back, I want my normal life back, and I know this was only the first process but about 5 days later after they fumigated I saw 2 bed bugs on my inflatable bed (one was tiny as can be, & the other was an adult). I'm pretty skeptical as to why there was an adult BB on my bed when I thought the products they use kills them automatically. But yea; me & my daughter are still getting bitten, I'm still paranoid at night... I see a lot of people with bed bug infestations raving about Sean; so I'm hoping they sent him on Monday to us when they come & do the 2nd fumigation. Perhaps he'll treat everything without being told to do so. UPDATED REVIEW! Yesterday was our 3rd session for getting rid of b.b & ever since Sean came I have not seen any visually, although bites somewhat STILL but then again, it's hard to tell the difference from a BB bite & a mosquito bite or rash sometimes. . . I'm still gunna be extremely aware of my toddler & infants bodies as well as mine & husbands... But yeah, 5 stars for Sean!! I've been getting BETTER SLEEP! -- No complaints what so ever since they sent him our way, he proceeded the extermination process ONCE I left the apartment with my kids, thank you for everything Sean! We needed somebody quick and they were able to not only come out the next day for a quote but then able to fit us in that Saturday for an appointment as well. Terrible customer service! Rude and unreliable. I took the day off of work and waited all day and no one ever showed up for our appointment! After calling several times to confirm that they were still coming ..no one came. I texted the technician and he rudely responded, implying that it was my responsibility to have texted him or chase him down. He said that he had been to our house and rang our doorbell and that no one was home. I told him that we don't have a door bell so then he said that he knocked. trying not to engage in his passive aggressive texts I ask when he was going to come. He replied "Not anytime soon" I called Rose and asked for a manager and I am still waiting three days later for a response. Use someone else! read more

Big thank you to Sean for not coming once or twice, but four times to my condo to ensure we not only caught the rodents in my condo but to completely prevent them from ever returning. Sean Boyce is where it's at. We recently purchased a vintage two-flat, and wanted to set up regular appointments for maintaining the building. They have a quarterly appointment schedule that fits the bill. While here, Sean highlighted a few things we could do on our own for pest control, and identified an issue we were having in our own unit. He then proceeded to inspect and treat other areas of the house and did a thorough check around the perimeter, explaining everything. We have now had two service calls with Rose Pest Solutions. The first time I called them out because we are on a slab and have problems with those little ants (I hate ants). We Chris with RPS came out and not only is he professional, kind and nice. He took the time to explain everything and gave his suggestions of what would be best for our home. Chris just came back for our second treatment and everything has been going great. Since the first treatment about a week later (just like Chris said) I have not seen another ant!! Unfortunately, waited for hours for the tech to arrive - even called to be sure he was still coming and was assured that I was on schedule - only for him never to show up. Extremely disappointing. We contacted the company because we saw a couple rats in our back yard and wanted to address the problem immediately. We scheduled the next Saturday available but no one ever showed up. When we called the office, we just received the answering machine. We ended up wasting 2 hours on a Saturday just waiting. I called on Monday and they said that we were scheduled incorrectly and that the person that scheduled us doesn't work that often. There wasn't much of an apology from the customer service staff but we were desperate to get the rat problem addressed so we scheduled for the next Saturday. Someone came and assessed the problem and said would be back on Monday at 5:30 to set some bait traps. No one ever showed up on Monday to follow up. We will be looking for another exterminator who takes our problem more seriously. read more

I called Rose Pest for an estimate for ant extermination in my home. They were well reviewed on Yelp, so I figured it would be easy to get an quote and get them scheduled. When I called I was immediately asked a lot of questions, full name, address, space effected by ants (and continued to be asked about the space) - it isn't complicated it's just my kitchen and living room area- do I have any other pests, do I have Covid, am I the owner of my house - A LOT of questions and A LOT of repeating what I said when I just wanted a quote. But I did it anyway. I answered all his questions. Then was put on hold for a while. Eventually he came back on the phone and walked me through the process of extermination but still no quote! So I'm like ok, great, can I please have a quote? Puts me on hold again - this time for much longer - next thing you know I am waiting for an additional 5 more minutes on hold - my call being over 20 minutes for an estimate! I eventually just gave up because I was so frustrated and I hung up. I thought maybe he'd call me back because I gave him so much information - he never even called me back. Such a waste of time. I'm a mother of 4 small kids and I need a business that's going to be efficient. I'll take my money elsewhere and so should you! read more

The young man that service my building at Prairie Shores #318 is so AWESOME. Im never home when he arrives and he deals with my 16 year old son very professionally. He makes sure to have my son call me once he enters to verify what my son told him was good and if I needed to add anything else. He make sure my son knows and understand what is going on and also calls me when is done completing the task at hand. This young man is so professional and my son respects him so much. He has even expressed to my son why he should continue with sports in high school and to stay in school and for that Im forever grateful. when he enters my unit I know for 100% certain the job is 100% complete to the best of his ability. read more

Very disappointed in this company. It was not reported to me that there will be a continuance service if the technician returns after the warrant expired. The technician insinuated I did not understand. I speak great and understand English very well. Someone came out to my place for a rat infestation. Laid a couple of poison traps and said they'd follow up. I never heard from them again. I paid $ 175 for that. I later had another exterminator come out who solved the problem permanently and followed up. read more

I've been using this company for years to treat mice, ants and cockroaches in my properties. One of my tenants saw mice in their apartment. Rose Pest came out right away to treat the apartment and then came out two weeks later when another tenant saw mice in his apartment. The techs were very responsive and reassuring with my tenants. We called Rose Pest Solutions to deal with a rat problem in our alley. Steve came out and looked over the situation and placed a box where he thought would be the best spot and told me to have him come back in two weeks to check the bait. Almost to the day, we found two deceased rats and he came out and reset the bait, a good portion of which he said had been eaten. Steve is fantastic! Do yourselves a favor and do your own research before calling any pest control company including this one. I wonder if this company sends their technicians to education seminars or have them watch education videos. I called them because there is a house mouse in my second floor apartment. That was the main reason and an ant issue. Technician was supposed to check for entry points, which he did not find. He spent about an hour at the apartment and set 11 traps and then called me to recap his work . Most of what he stated, I already knew. What I thought he was going to do and did not do was check for entry points at the ground level. He checked for them on the second floor. I expected and hoped he may have seen something I may have overlooked on ground level. His reasoning for a mouse in a second floor apartment is leaving the back door open and it ran in or it got in through the roof via the tree branch that's in front of the house. And I should call the city to have it chopped down. Oh and also in packages (C'MON ! - for some obvious reasons) I called Rose Pest Control to voice my distaste at the "cost" for services rendered. I questioned the other issue (ants) because he did not do anything about that. He only concentrated on the mouse issue. It's on the service agreement they e-mailed to me, but the second CSR I talked to said it wasn't and it was at the technician's discretion to handle what needed to be done during that visit. This was my first and LAST time using this company. She offered to send him back. I was dissatisfied and didn't want them coming back at all. So I asked for a refund the services he did not perform and they refused. I cancelled service agreement for future visits, she put me on a brief hold and said it's cancelled. They came out a day earlier, at my request, and that's probably the only reason why they're getting that star. Shop around , get a quote and make sure when your technician calls you , discuss what he's covering. Never again!! read more

Rose pest solution was AMAZING! I woke up to bagels scattered across my kitchen because of a rat attack, I immediately called Rose Pest and a technician was sent out immediately. Sean was incredible. He was very response. From the beginning he was very dedicated. He understand the severity of the problem and immediately sprung into action. After the first week we already caught 4 rats! He also discovered exactly where the rats were coming in and started baiting. From there, I was still hearing them in the walls as well as they were getting inside. Sean took time out of his day to come to our rescue. Sean would be at my apartment setting traps on the weekend, and every morning. He was very dedicated to solving our problem which was greatly appreciated. Not only did he devote his life to help me he also got a hazemat suit and went into our crawl space to examine our rat problem even more! In total we caught 10 large rats. All because of Sean! It's possible that Rose Pest is the best option for pest control. However, we have found them difficult to communicate with - messages to technicians either don't get delivered or aren't accurately relayed. In the past the tech has been confused about which condo unit should be serviced, questions about who is getting serviced in our condo association, etc. Yesterday I called to give them a heads up that on the routine visit for today there would be no one home. The receptionist couldn't even find an account for anyone in our condo association. Pathetic! Today I finally learned whose name & address all of us were stored under - not a very efficient system IMO. When calling RP today we were at least able to ID the units which were to be serviced & I requested having a message relayed to the tech: "No one is at home, we are expecting a visit, there have been pests again, please make sure the tech calls ME & leaves ME a message OR please allow me to call the tech for specific directions on how to enter the unit." Answer: Well, they can't give out tech phone #s but a message would be given to the tech. The message either didn't reach the tech or got ignored. The last straw was when calling back to RP to get an explanation of why there wasn't a visit I was told that the tech had rung the doorbell (WHAT?!?!) but no one answered (REALLY?!?) but they could schedule an extra visit for $125. I don't see this as being my fault & am pretty upset for having spent so much time on hold several times to make sure that my messages are relayed when they're not. So disappointing & infuriating since we really did have some return pest visitors & had hoped for the 'specialists' to solve the problem! read more

Charged $200 and no service provided! Technician came to the house and identified a mouse problem in the attic. He then set traps to address the problem. We noticed that the traps did not contain bait and we questioned that approach. Technician insisted that bait not needed. After a week the mouse noises continued and none of the traps contained mice. We called Rose and requested the technician return to bait the traps. Unfortunately the technician was not available due to being on vacation. One thing lead to another and the window for their return without additional charge has expired. Never use them again. read more
