I work in Property Management, and pest control is NEVER something you want to have to deal with as a landlord, but alas, it is inevitable. I found myself in a bind last weekend with the company we normally work with. I couldn't get them out to my building on a weekend. I started calling other companies when I stumbled upon Rose Pest Solutions, and I was told someone would call me with information. Maybe 5 minutes later, my phone rings, and it is Otis from Rose Pest solutions. They went out to my building and did the inspection for free, and then for the treatment charged me about 60% of what ANY of their competitors charged me. Otis worked around my schedule and couldn't have been more helpful. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of pest control at their property. read more

Basically you are going to pay $200-$300 for someone to set a few cheap traps you could buy at Home Depot for like $12. We have used Rose twice for rats and ants. I can't speak to their experience with stuff like termites or bedbugs, maybe they provide more value there. But we spent hundreds of dollars for someone to just set basic traps. You might think that since you are hiring experts you're going to get something extra. You would be wrong. And you are paying a bunch of extra money for a "guarantee." What does the guarantee entail? Well they will come back and set more basic traps you can buy for a few dollars at Home Depot. At least for rats and ants, there is no magic solution you didn't think of. There wasn't some amazing insight or advice. Just cheap traps. Save your money, read an article or two online, do it yourself. read more

The building I live in has bed bugs. Rose Pest Control was called by my landlord. The technician, Ray, came in and immediately said to me, "So you think you have bed bugs." I said that I did have bedbugs and he asked me how I knew that, so I told him I not only can see them but I had bites on my arms and face. He looks at my bed and says, "Yep, you have bed bugs." DUH. The first treatment he did was very thorough, although he didn't wear a mask or ventilate the room when he was spraying and he kept coughing throughout the treatment in that room. When he was leaving I asked when I could go back to work because being a nanny my employers don't want to take the risk of getting the bedbugs. Ray replied, "You shouldn't have told them about the bedbugs." Not a good representation of the company. The second and third treatments were not as through. The second treatment he rudely asked me if I had a drill to take the mattress slats off the bed. It would have been nice to have known about that at the first treatment so I could have rented one. I do not feel that I received the best service. After the third treatment I asked Ray what needs to happen next. He said nothing it is all done. I asked how do we know if the bed bugs are completely gone. He said, "You need to sleep in the bed and if you wake up with bites you still have bedbugs. NOPE! Also, at the first treatment he pulled my bed about six inches farther from the wall. It was already six inches from the wall. I had taken before, during, and after photos of my bed. After the third treatment Ray had pulled the bed again resulting in the footboard bowing in the middle, and separating from the frame. Neither he, nor my landlord mentioned it. There were some shady dealings going on between Ray and my landlord. Ray falsely representing Rose Pest Control by wearing his uniform while doing side Pest control jobs. Max, Ray's boss told all about what my landlord was not doing about the bedbugs that he needs to by law. When I called Max a couple of days later he was unavailable so I left a voicemail. I have called a couple more times and was told each time that he was unavailable and that they would send him a message. He has not replied to any of my messages. I then asked for his supervisor. I left a message for her, too. She has never returned any of my messages. When I called back twice she conveniently was nit available. I asked for the name and number of Lisa's boss and was told that there is no one above Lisa. I then asked for her email and was told that I already had a message for her from me. When I asked for corporates phone number the woman answering finally gave me Lisa's email. She did not want to give me corporates number. If you Google this company the reviews for this Chicago location are really bad and most mention no responses from the service manager (Max) or Lisa. Let's see if Lisa ignores my email, too. read more

I just called Rose to start a home maintenance program because I noticed some spiders. The representative had issues with her phone from the beginning. Nevertheless, we got all the way up to scheduling and then she could not hear me anymore. We got disconnected, and I called back from my cell (first was the landline), and the nastiest lady answered. She said, "I can't hear you, but now that I can I am trying to figure out why you are calling." In my mind I thought why in the world do you think I am calling. I then explained how the other lady was helping me and we got disconnected. She interrupted me and said, "Well I don't know why that happened, and I can't tell you, but I am trying to figure out what you need." I told her that there is something wrong with their phones, but I am not liking how she is talking to me, and I am going to go with someone else. All I got was "Have a good day."...click. I don't know who they hire or who Rose is, but these nasty ladies cost them new business. read more

Nothing but good things to say about the whole experience with Rose. We needed somebody quick and they were able to not only come out the next day for a quote but then able to fit us in that Saturday for an appointment as well. Better pricing than other services we looked at I might add. Sean was absolutely amazing. Definitely knows his stuff and as soon as he stepped in I knew our issue would be taken care of. He was super efficient each time he was here (we needed 3 total treatments) in and out within a matter of 15-20 minutes. Would definitely recommend Rose and Sean specifically to anyone needing some bug removal services! read more

Do not use this service. I paid $150 and still have ants all over my kitchen and 5 rat tunnels by my foundation. I was told that they would send me fox urine (that I could apply myself). I tried them 6 years ago and was disappointed then but thought I would give them another chance. They are no better now than 6 years ago. I understand that rats are a huge problem in my neighborhood, but don't promise to fix a problem that you can't. read more

Rose was very prompt in scheduling an appointment; and they even called when they said the exterminator (Steve) would call when he was en route so I wasn't sitting around and waiting. Steve's inspection was thorough and he gave us some options and recommendations to solve my tenant's issues with mice. I will call Rose for sure for the next aggressive solution if the sticky traps I purchased don't do the trick. Thank you for being HONEST and thorough Steve. read more

I am so overwhelmingly pleased to announce that my boyfriend and I are no longer suffering from the terror that is bedbugs! We went to another extermination company before this one with much regret. He did a very sloppy job, always made us feel like a nuisance and we still had the problem to deal with at the end of if all! He even refused to give us our money back that is part of his guarantee that he so gallantly informed us of in the beginning. Steve, on the other hand, has been so personable, easy going, kind, and flexible! He did a thorough job. He has made a difficult situation easy to get through. We are so happy we decided to go with rose pests solution. Thank you so much! read more

As my review I am copying the email that I sent to Rose Pest Solutions detailing my experience with them. They never responded to my email either. I am writing to formally cancel my appointment for service on 5/14/22.  And to explain why in as much detail as I will put into all of my reviews of your company. As you can see above, I had an appointment for service this past Saturday, no one ever showed up. I called your office when your technician, Sam, was more than a half hour past his two hour window.  The woman who answered the phone acted completely put out that I would inquire as to when anyone would show up.  She did attempt to reach Sam, but ultimately told me that he wasn't answering, she couldn't leave a message and the best she could do was message him to call me. That was it, no apology, and it was now apparently between me and Sam. Two hours later, when no one showed up or contacted me, I called the office again to say that I was leaving the home and Sam should be told not to come.  This call was very difficult because there was some issue on your line that made it very difficult to hear the woman. However, I did inquire how soon someone else could come out.  She offered to reschedule me for the next Saturday, the 14th. I explained that I already had a 2nd appointment for that day and needed a 1st appointment as soon as possible to keep my 2nd appointment. I explained to her, as I did to Andy when he came out to quote me, that I don't live in Chicago full time but was staying here long enough to address a moth problem and couldn't be set back an entire week. She then offered me an appointment on Tuesday the 10th.  When I inquired who the technician would be she stated that it would be Sam again. I asked whether Sam had ever responded to her attempt to reach him and was told he hadn't. So I explained that I don't want an appointment with the technician who had just ruined my entire Saturday and who goes off the grid and isn't responsible enough to communicate with his office or clients.  At this point the woman was more than just put out and told me there was nothing more she could do and if I wanted another appointment with a different technician to deal with Andy directly.  She gave me Andy's cell number and said goodbye.   Again, not a single apology or sign of contrition that your employee completely blew me off. I called Andy and left a voicemail explaining what had happened and asking him to get in touch with me as soon as possible so that we could figure this out.  It is now Monday afternoon and I have not heard from Andy or anyone from Rose.  As such, I will never be a customer of Rose Pest Solutions, and will spread the word of my experience. read more

Big thank you to Sean for not coming once or twice, but four times to my condo to ensure we not only caught the rodents in my condo but to completely prevent them from ever returning. Sean went above and beyond his call of duty and I would recommend him to all friends/family and strangers! When I first noticed my rodent issue on a Thursday I called Smithereen who couldn't make it out until Monday. I then called Hansen Services who couldn't come out until the following Wednesday! Ugh nightmare!! Finally I called Rose Pest Solutions who were recommended by my sister and they were scheduled to come out on Saturday. To my surprise Sean called Friday morning and was able to squeeze me into his appointments. I was thrilled and so appreciative to have someone's attention to my urgent issue. I will forever be a customer for Rose Pest Solutions!! Thanks Sean Boyce! read more

Rose pest solutions sent Sean and he called to say he was running a bit early. He met me at my house and immediately got to work, finding the base of the problem. He then proceeded to inspect and treat other areas of the house and did a thorough check around the perimeter, explaining everything. He did a great job and I would refer him and Rose for anyone with pest problems (of the insect type). A great overall business experience, he was very knowledgeable and could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Glad I called them (and there was a yelp coupon!) read more

I HATE RATS! Literally and figuratively. The figurative ones, I can always get revenge from those "fargin Iceholes". The ones with the skinny tail, I can't do much but call these guys to handle the biz. While cleaning out a recent apartment that I had acquired, I noticed what was rat poop. I bought a foreclosed property, so I'm sure cleanliness/maintenance wasn't at the top of the list. Luckily, I made 1 email inquiry over-night on a Sunday evening, and by 8:30am had a phone call. I was able to set up a same day extermination service. Additionally, I used a yelp deal and saved me $50 in the process. Hopefully, I never see one of those "dirty bastages" in the unit. If I do, at lease I know Rose will cone back out and dispose of it. I'll update my review when my 10 day followup happens. read more

Sean Boyce is where it's at. We recently purchased a vintage two-flat, and wanted to set up regular appointments for maintaining the building. They have a quarterly appointment schedule that fits the bill. While here, Sean highlighted a few things we could do on our own for pest control, and identified an issue we were having in our own unit. He's timely, professional, and he knows his bugs ;) One thing I didn't know is that you can request particular exterminators-- I'll definitely be using him for all of our pest control needs! read more

We have now had two service calls with Rose Pest Solutions. The first time I called them out because we are on a slab and have problems with those little ants (I hate ants). We Chris with RPS came out and not only is he professional, kind and nice. He took the time to explain everything and gave his suggestions of what would be best for our home. Chris just came back for our second treatment and everything has been going great. Since the first treatment about a week later (just like Chris said) I have not seen another ant!! Could not be happier!! Highly recommend their service, plus they are reasonably priced. read more

Terrible customer service! Rude and unreliable. I took the day off of work and waited all day and no one ever showed up for our appointment! After calling several times to confirm that they were still coming ..no one came. I texted the technician and he rudely responded, implying that it was my responsibility to have texted him or chase him down. He said that he had been to our house and rang our doorbell and that no one was home. I told him that we don't have a door bell so then he said that he knocked. trying not to engage in his passive aggressive texts I ask when he was going to come. He replied "Not anytime soon" I called Rose and asked for a manager and I am still waiting three days later for a response. Use someone else! read more

I reached out to Rose because I saw evidence of rats in our backyard. Sean Boyce came out and honestly exceeded our expectations. We thought he'd just place some boxes and leave, but Sean took his time to talk with us about how he decides where the boxes go, how rats use them, and how if our dog ever got a rat that had ingested the Rose product he wouldn't be harmed! Which was a huge relief to us. I HIGHLY recommend Sean and the Rose team! read more

Called Rose to treat my home for bees. Was happy to get a quick appointment for the next day. Unfortunately, waited for hours for the tech to arrive - even called to be sure he was still coming and was assured that I was on schedule - only for him never to show up. Extremely disappointing. Huge waste of time. read more

We contacted the company because we saw a couple rats in our back yard and wanted to address the problem immediately. We scheduled the next Saturday available but no one ever showed up. When we called the office, we just received the answering machine. We ended up wasting 2 hours on a Saturday just waiting. I called on Monday and they said that we were scheduled incorrectly and that the person that scheduled us doesn't work that often. There wasn't much of an apology from the customer service staff but we were desperate to get the rat problem addressed so we scheduled for the next Saturday. Someone came and assessed the problem and said would be back on Monday at 5:30 to set some bait traps. No one ever showed up on Monday to follow up. We will be looking for another exterminator who takes our problem more seriously. read more

I called Rose Pest for an estimate for ant extermination in my home. They were well reviewed on Yelp, so I figured it would be easy to get an quote and get them scheduled. When I called I was immediately asked a lot of questions, full name, address, space effected by ants (and continued to be asked about the space) - it isn't complicated it's just my kitchen and living room area- do I have any other pests, do I have Covid, am I the owner of my house - A LOT of questions and A LOT of repeating what I said when I just wanted a quote. But I did it anyway. I answered all his questions. Then was put on hold for a while. Eventually he came back on the phone and walked me through the process of extermination but still no quote! So I'm like ok, great, can I please have a quote? Puts me on hold again - this time for much longer - next thing you know I am waiting for an additional 5 more minutes on hold - my call being over 20 minutes for an estimate! I eventually just gave up because I was so frustrated and I hung up. I thought maybe he'd call me back because I gave him so much information - he never even called me back. Such a waste of time. I'm a mother of 4 small kids and I need a business that's going to be efficient. I'll take my money elsewhere and so should you! read more

He make sure my son knows and understand what is going on and also calls me when is done completing the task at hand. This young man is so professional and my son respects him so much. Very disappointed in this company. It was not reported to me that there will be a continuance service if the technician returns after the warrant expired. Unbelievable service! Our son had small bumps on his body after sleeping on new bedroom furniture so we called Rose Pest Solutions to come and alleviate any fears of a bug infestation. I've been using this company for years to treat mice, ants and cockroaches in my properties. One of my tenants saw mice in their apartment. Rose Pest came out right away to treat the apartment and then came out two weeks later when another tenant saw mice in his apartment. The techs were very responsive and reassuring with my tenants. They pointed out areas that needed to be sealed to keep the mice from coming in. They offer two follow up visits free within 30 days if they continue to see mice. I highly recommend them. read more

We called Rose Pest Solutions to deal with a rat problem in our alley. Steve came out and looked over the situation and placed a box where he thought would be the best spot and told me to have him come back in two weeks to check the bait. Do yourselves a favor and do your own research before calling any pest control company including this one. I wonder if this company sends their technicians to education seminars or have them watch education videos. I called them because there is a house mouse in my second floor apartment. That was the main reason and an ant issue. Technician was supposed to check for entry points, which he did not find. He spent about an hour at the apartment and set 11 traps and then called me to recap his work . Most of what he stated, I already knew. What I thought he was going to do and did not do was check for entry points at the ground level. He checked for them on the second floor. I expected and hoped he may have seen something I may have overlooked on ground level. His reasoning for a mouse in a second floor apartment is leaving the back door open and it ran in or it got in through the roof via the tree branch that's in front of the house. And I should call the city to have it chopped down. Oh and also in packages (C'MON ! - for some obvious reasons) I called Rose Pest Control to voice my distaste at the "cost" for services rendered. I questioned the other issue (ants) because he did not do anything about that. He only concentrated on the mouse issue. It's on the service agreement they e-mailed to me, but the second CSR I talked to said it wasn't and it was at the technician's discretion to handle what needed to be done during that visit. This was my first and LAST time using this company. She offered to send him back. I was dissatisfied and didn't want them coming back at all. So I asked for a refund the services he did not perform and they refused. I cancelled service agreement for future visits, she put me on a brief hold and said it's cancelled. They came out a day earlier, at my request, and that's probably the only reason why they're getting that star. Shop around , get a quote and make sure when your technician calls you , discuss what he's covering. Never again!! read more

Rose pest solution was AMAZING! I woke up to bagels scattered across my kitchen because of a rat attack, I immediately called Rose Pest and a technician was sent out immediately. Sean was incredible. He was very response. From the beginning he was very dedicated. He understand the severity of the problem and immediately sprung into action. After the first week we already caught 4 rats! He also discovered exactly where the rats were coming in and started baiting. From there, I was still hearing them in the walls as well as they were getting inside. Sean took time out of his day to come to our rescue. Sean would be at my apartment setting traps on the weekend, and every morning. He was very dedicated to solving our problem which was greatly appreciated. Not only did he devote his life to help me he also got a hazemat suit and went into our crawl space to examine our rat problem even more! In total we caught 10 large rats. All because of Sean! He was very immediate, available all the time, and was always ready to help. I could not imagine using any other service or person. Even now, 2 months later Sean makes sure to check up and make sure we are not suffering from a rat problem anymore. Without Sean I would still be living in fear! I don't hear or see anything in my apartment anymore as well as my bagels are safe. I appreciate everything Sean did and he is the best of the best! read more

What a joke. Two weeks ago Rose came to spray for carpenter ants. When I spoke with the woman on the phone I explained the issue and was told they would spray the house, garage, and yard. My appointment was for morning, but it was raining and the exterminator did call and reschedule for the afternoon and arrived promptly, but that's about where the customer service ended. He didn't explain or discuss anything. Didn't look around the house, the garage, the yard. Nothing. Stood on the porch, listened to me recount the story of the ant invasion and then said "I'll just spray for ants". I expected some explanation of what he was using, what the plan was, I thought he'd take a cursory look around. Nope. Just sprayed the house. Didn't do the garage or the yard where I said there were very active and abundant ant hills. I guess I should have insisted he do so, but I thought "he's the professional, he knows what he's doing". I paid by check and 20 minutes later I got a phone call. He couldn't find my check anywhere, would I mind doing a stop payment on it and paying by credit card over the phone. Seriously?! Stopping payment on the check will cost ME $20 in fees. So unprofessional. I walk outside and sure enough find the check floating in a puddle in the gutter. So I called him back and had him run my credit card. Saved myself the bank fee. Guess what? Still have ants in the garage and the yard. Oh, right. Because they weren't treated like the house was. Supposed to come back this morning to finish the job - no show. I called the office and was told he was on his way. I point out that it's raining - don't we need to reschedule? No, he's on his way. 45 minutes later he's still not there. I call again. "Oh, this is an exterior treatment? You don't need to be there at all. He can treat it without you there, but not when it's raining." You have got to be kidding me. I called 45 minutes ago asking this very thing! So, I'm several hours late for work and I have no confidence that the job will be properly done the second time around. I'm surprised at the lack of explanation the exterminator gave, the lack of discussing how to control carpenter ants, no discussion of what chemicals were being used. Nothing. He came, did a half-ass job, lost my check, didn't show or call on the second round and we'll see if he actually comes and does the job right now that I won't be there to watch. Save yourself $170 and go spend $5 on a can of Raid. It'd do just as good a job. read more

**UPDATE** I can't respond directly to the comment, so I'll do so here. This was for a Chicago appointment, so I have the right company. After finally getting in touch with someone on Monday, it turns out that the rep showed up at 9am for my 10-12 appointment window, so I was not home. However, it also turned out that the rep called a different phone than mine, so even if I had been home, I wouldn't have received the call. I understand that things can get out of whack, but when I called at 10:05 to confirm my appointment, I would have expected someone to inform me that the rep was there and couldn't get in, we could have identified the issue immediately, and come up with a resolution plan. And even if that didn't happen, I would expect a proactive call later in the day informing me of the missed connection and proactively working for a solution. I should not have to work this hard to give a company my money. Also, this is not the first time this has happened - let's recall that this incident itself was a reschedule from the two weeks prior when my unit was skipped. ORIGINAL Unfortunately, my experience with Rose has been at complete odds with those of my fellow reviewers. My building has had 4 spraying in the last two years, and 3 of those 4 times I've been stood up. Most recently this morning (which was a reschedule from when they stood me up two weeks ago) I was scheduled for a 10-12 slot. I called at 10:05 to confirm the slot and they confirmed it. It is now 2:05pm, and I haven't heard from anyone. I've tried calling and it goes to voicemail. Unfortunately, this appears to be their standard operating procedure and not an anomaly. I can say that on the one occasion a rep showed up, he was very friendly and competent. But if you are someone who has things to do other than wait around all day to be stood up, I highly recommend you choose another company that values you and your time. read more
