Rose & Crown is a pub I randomly wind up at every once in a while. Yes, the patio out back is among the best in the city. Yes, the bartenders are uber friendly and hospitable. Yes it's kind of a $hithole, but in a good way. Come here for stiff pours and cheap beer ($2 cans of Busch all day, every day). If you're extra brave, attempt to find the restroom in the basement. It's quite the adventure, especially when you start to realize you're in the nether regions of an old mortuary. Creepy! Whether you're a dad who simply can't bear one more second at the nearby children's museum, or a couple of party-seeking college students, you'll feel right at home at the Rose & Crown. Not sure when I'll be back, but I I know it'll happen eventually.

The first time I visited Rose & Crown was in part because of Ryan T's review. In particular his description of the restroom. A buddy and I were visiting from Kansas City just for the purpose of finding interesting bars and that description sealed the deal for us that Rose & Crown would be on our list. In a touch of irony, both of us forgot to use the restroom while we were there. So I had no choice but to return to Omaha a couple of months later just so I could urinate at the Rose & Crown and see what Ryan was talking about. :) Ryan, I agree! Anyway, I've been to about 25 or so bars in Omaha and Rose and Crown is #2 on my list of my favorites. The bartenders are cool and quirky and the patrons friendly. While it was dead on my first visit (a Friday night), it was packed on my second visit (also a Friday night and about the exact same time). My main kudos for Rose & Crown are for its patio. I've been to hundreds of bars throughout the midwest and It's one of the top patios I've seen.

Dark pic of the bar. Tech n9ne on the juke box. Hell yes

Rose and crown has always been one of my favorite bars. I know if i leave there then i am going to hurt un the morning. The staff is friendly and drinks are fairly strong for the right price. My go to spot during CWS. I can watch games and not feel like a sports bar

No hoes. A bunch of old fogies and place smelled of crack pipe smoke and Ben-Gay. But they do have Jeffersons whiskey!

The Elbow Room is a solid choice for a night out, if you're wanting a more chill/divey experience…read more(which are my fave). They're never super busy when I've been. I even was there on St. Patrick's Day and it never got too full. The ambiance is a little dim, which I think is what they're going for, and they have pool, darts, and shuffleboard. The staff is always kind and helpful when I've been there, which adds to the welcoming, chill atmosphere. They sometimes will have crockpots out with food you can snack on. On St. Paddy's Day, it was a corned beef stew that definitely hit the spot. If you're not there on a game day or holiday when they have the crock pots out, they don't serve food for purchase (aside from some tasty bagged chips), so be sure to eat before or after you come, or you can order delivery from a few nearby places. And lastly, they are very affordable. If you're drinking cheap beer, like I do (which they have many options of), expect to spend less than $10 here for the whole night. For the low cost, chill vibes, and good drinks - you should definitely check out The Elbow Room!

Some friends were recently in town for the weekend and we were looking for a dive bar. Before…read moregetting married and having kids, most of us spent our mid to late 20's playing darts, shuffleboard and any other bar game on the weekends. So, when we get together these days, we like to find a place that allows us to nostalgically re-live those days. We thought the Elbow Room fit the bill. Turns out, we were partially right. It's our kind of bar generally. Kind of run down and dingy but a place where you can drink cold beer. In theory, you could also play shuffleboard and darts. This particular night the dart board was not operational and the shuffleboard table was marginal at best. They had no sand to add to the table and there are dead spots on the board where the pucks literally just stop. Not optimal. But, we were having fun and learning the nuance of the board was kind of a challenge so we spent quite a bit of our evening playing anyway. When you walk in, you are hit with a fairly strong musty smell of old bar. You get used to it and it's not a big deal. The bartender this night was a good dude and took good care of us. This is definitely a locals bar and it was a pretty chill group on this particular Saturday night. If you want to find a hole in the wall to drink some beer, this fits the bill. If you want to play bar games, you might want to go elsewhere.
