First time there. Rather crowded and very loud. Couldn't carry on a normal conversation, so got it to go. Pizza was OK but nothing to write Yelp about. read more

Second time going. First time was great. This time it was another atory. Waitress in her first week. Order got messed up. Fries were cold. Sandwiches were delicious. They comped us some fresh French fries. I will be back but probably will stick with pizza read more

This place is amazing! The hostesses are great and the servers are so friendly they make you feel like family! I wasn't so sure coming in the first time but I instantly fell in love with the inviting atmosphere, flaky thin crust, and real Chicago deep dish. When I come in now, they always remember my name. I'd recommend this place ten times out of ten and would give it more than 5 stars if I could! read more

From a life long Chicagoan and recent San Dieagan. This place is the real deal for authentic Chicago Thin Crust.

Best pizza in SD! My family is from Chicago and I could not believe it when I found out there was a Rosati's here! I always choose deep dish whenever I go, but at Rosati's the thin crust is the way to go! Great atmosphere to watch Chicago play as well! read more

Hands down the BEST pizza in town! With options like the authentic Chicago deep dish pizza and the Chicago style thin crust pizza, you can't go wrong! There are also other several different entree choices on the menu, like the famous Chicago style Italian Beef Sandwich, along with a wide range of pastas and salads. The restaurant is a little small, but it doesn't stop people (including me) from coming in regularly for the amazing food and fun atmosphere! On the weekends it's almost always busy, so it's a good idea to call ahead to put your name on the waiting list or make a reservation! The food takes a little while to cook, but the QUALITY and TASTE is well worth the wait!! Hands down the most AUTHENTIC Chicago style pizzas and sandwiches in Southern California!! It is a family style restaurant, and the bar serves a spectacular selection of craft beers and wines! It is noticeable that the staff at Rosati's work very hard to make their customers happy. The owners, Mike and Marcy, have successfully provided a fun and reliable place for anyone to enjoy delicious food, all while making their customers feel welcome! I've been told Rosatis is the "best kept secret in town." Well, I believe it's time to get the word out! read more

Our group of 8 had lunch today and it was great!. We started with the dough bites, also regular as well as boneless wings. All were delicious! I especially liked the crispiness of the boneless. Next we ordered a thin crust and a Chicago style. My husband preferred the thin, but I really loved the deep dish. They hit a home run with this place! The service was great, the food was awesome, and parking was easy. I'm looking forward to the craft beer as well. After reading the reviews I'm glad I decided to try this place. It seems like maybe some of the bad reviews were written by people with an alternative agenda. Our whole party was impressed and can't wait to go back. Thanks Rosati's for a fun afternoon of football and fantastic food. read more

Finally a legit Chicago pizza joint!!! It's the real deal folks! Pizzas on point and the beef combo ...epic!!

Came in at 8:25pm to get deep dish pizza. They turned us away because the oven was already off although they supposedly close at 9pm. THEY TURNED AWAY A PREGNANT GIRL CRAVING PIZZA!!! read more

Extremely disappointed. Roast beef Sandwich was not traditional, not piled high with lean beef, not served on special bread, no pepperoni in the Beef Au Jus. The dip was veggie base with tomato not beefy at all. They used cilantro of all things! Here's what a real Chicago Roast Beef Sandwich looks like: https://www.tastesofchicago.com/category/Italian_Beef_Portillos_Italian_Beef_Kit_Pizzas The deep dish pizza was a cheese pie with spaghetti tomato sauce not pizza sauce on top with meat on to of that. The think crust was editable but not anything like Chicago pizzas. The couple who run the restaurant said they were from Chicago but they were from way out in suburbs. My husband and are are from the inner City, North West side. We will never go back there again but will continue to spend an hour trip to Portillos in in Moreno Valley, Ca.. read more

Pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but I would go back. It seams like they haven't been open for very long. Customer service was probably my only complaint. They were friendly, just not the most efficient. They never had their head on a swivel, so some things took a bit longer as they weren't always paying attention to all customers. Seems like a hangout for local friends and relatives of the staff, so not the best attention to regular customers. Don't get me wrong though, I did like this place. I don't want to over exaggerate. Give it a try ! read more

Slow does not even begin to describe the service. I don't care how good the pizza may or may not be taking over an hour to cook a simple pepperoni pizza when no one is in your restaurant is unacceptable. read more

If you want to wait an hour and a half for your dinner with 6 hungry kids, this is your place! I had high hopes for this restaurant and had my girlfriend and her kids meet us there for dinner last night. We ordered around 6:15pm and did not receive our food until after 7:30. Our server kept coming over asking if we wanted more water. Um, no, but our dinner would be great. I asked the bartender if the service at this restaurant is typically this slow, i.e., ridiculous. She sent the manager over - she apologized, but was defensive saying that the pizza is made to order. I pointed out that we had 5 other dishes, including a salad and 4 pasta orders. About 45 minutes after we ordered our server said that they were out of mushrooms and were going to the store to get some for my daughter's pasta dish. I said no thank you, please substitute sausage. Fifteen minutes later our server came by saying they had acquired mushrooms and this confirmed our food was still not ready and we were another 10 minutes away from eating. My son summed up our dining experience by putting his head on the table and crying. I guess a comped glass of wine or beer would have been nice or part of the meal comped, but none of that was offered. Sorry Rosati's, these two Encinitas families won't be returning. read more

Great thin crust!! And love the vibe and style of this place. Their wings are also amazing and HUGE!

Loved this place! I always drive passed and just happened to eat there and loved it! Even the simple garden salad was delicious! Such reasonable prices too! read more

Just ate the gluten free pizza. I know we didn't really go for the Chicago pizza experience but everything was great! He hostesses greeted us right away and seated my family. Brittany was a super nice and friendly waitress. She was on top of our order. The pizza was good and the chop salad was amazing! Anyway, this was our first experience and we will be back. read more

What a disappointment!!!! Being a Chicago native, I was so excited for a "Chicago" pizza place in my neighborhood. Went there tonight...waited 1 hour for a deep dish pizza ( no wine/beer service yet) and the pizza was TERRIBLE. The crust was soggy, and the product had no semblance of the Chicago pizza that I remember. I live 1/2 miles away and would not return. Frozen pizza would be better. No owner in sight either...Too bad as this location has been a loser in the past + this one is a big fat zero! read more

We were staying in Encinitas and we were looking for a place to deliver pizza to our room. I called several different locations that said they didn't deliver to our location which didn't make sense cause it was like 2 miles away from the locations, anyways we ordered from there. The girl who took my order way very nice. The delivery guy was kind of a jerk. The food want good the mozzarella sticks were okay the pizza wasn't that great I just ate the crust. And the garlic cheese bread tasted off. read more

We have been to this location a couple times since they opened and again had a great meal! We had the Classic combo pizza which is our fav because of the sausage. You can taste the fresh fennel in every bite! the craft brew list is awesome but one of the best things is ordering a salad that comes in a cold bowl, fresh crisp lettuce and great dressing! Our waitress at the bar made sure we had everything we needed and had a great attitude. Try it!! read more

Lots of beer choices and the best pizza in town! Lots of vegetarian options! Scott was cool great service :)

Met one of the managers in the grocery store that I work at, always buying fresh ingredients. He mentioned his restaurant and although it took me a while to get in there I am so glad I did! Went in on a Friday night, the place was full of people (always a good sign) but we sat at the bar with no wait. The beertender was quick to get us some drinks and make some delicious recommendations. Then the dough nuggets, so simple but so delicious! We ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and a Chicago deep dish pizza to split. The fettuccini, best we have ever had hands down, it was so creamy and full of flavor. I had to resist eating all of that and save room for the pizza! The pizza was awesome, a small was plenty for two people to split and maybe have left overs. Didn't have enough room for dessert because we couldn't stop eating the fantastic food! Thank you Mike for having such a wonderful restaurant! This is our new favorite spot for date night! read more

The tip was not an issue. As a matter of fact, the tip amount was fairly generous, and I care about the service, delivery times, and accuracy i provide to my customers, however numerous times I've noticed a delay in preperation times for door dash orders at your venue. I was a little surprised when door dash contacted me and you/husband called in and claimed I/we were yelling at each other in the restaurant, when that was not true. I basically asked in a polite manner what the hold up was and that was all. I have a good record and review with door dash, other merchants and customers know me by first name basis, so a lie told to the call center to me is not accessible. Be honest when you complain to a company or decide to back up an honest review. read more

Yeww Chitown Pizza and beefs is in north county. This is the real deal and the beer selection is awesome!

Never place a delivery order from this store. The $3.00 fee apparently doesn't ensure that they will actually take your order. Calling back over an hour and 15 minutes after I ordered a pizza, I was informed that they had messed up and hadn't even put it in the oven yet. Needless to say I am not able to review the food but I can say without a doubt that I will never waste my time with this location again. The franchisee may want to retrain the staff so they can grasp the basics of working in a restaurant before he loses his ability to be called an owner anymore. read more

BEST PIZZA IN ENCINITAS! As somebody from Chicago who's lived here 20+ years, this is by far the best pizza in town. Great flavor, generous w/ their toppings, thin crust, timely delivery, cordial staff! We ordered The Godfather, good Chicken Parmigiana, can't wait to have it again! read more

Terrible performance on phone-in order for a pizza. I got the pizza 3 hours and 5 minutes after I placed the order. And every update on the status showed terrible training or incompetence by the customer-facing staff. I phone ordered a pizza at 6:10p. The quoted me 30 minutes plus a little more, since it's busy on Friday. I showed up at 6:50 to pick up the pizza. They told me at the counter it would be another 15 minutes. 15 minutes later, I checked and they said the pizza was not made yet, but they were making it and it would be 30 minutes cook. 7:30p rolls around and I find out it's not yet in the oven yet. They said it would be about 30 more minutes and offered to deliver it. I called at 8:37p and they said it was done and would be delivered in a few minutes. It finally showed up at 9:15p. read more

Just waited for 15 mins and did not even get acknowledged by a server. I mentioned it to the manager as we were walking out and she didn't seem to care or make it better. Will not be visiting here again. read more

So I ordered a to go order at 12:19 two salads and two kids pizzas. At 12:45 the lady tells me it will still be 15 more minutes for the pizzas, I mean that's a whole 40 min for kids pizzas. I have my two small kids with me who can't wait anymore and are hungry so I tell her I can't wait. She adjusts my bill takes off the pizzas and that's it. I shouldn't have had to pay for anything. I mean I'm leaving after waiting 30 min with no food for my kids. This was so ridiculous! If you order from this place be prepared to not get your food for an hour. Terrible customer service...lady basically didn't care. For that reason alone I will never come back and I will tell others not to either. read more

I have only written reviews if I have something really good to say or really bad - and this happens to be in the really bad category. We have used Rosati's as our go-to pizza place for the past several years. On more than one occasion I have witnessed the owner, Mike, yelling and belittling his employees in front of anyone who happens to be in there. Last night, as we were having dinner, he yelled, screamed and fired a young employee in front of everyone that was there. It started when Mike was working behind the bar and then she went to the kitchen where he followed her and everyone could hear him yelling at her. She was fired but had to finish out her tables which was very humiliating to her. Before we left several people that witnessed the incident gave her their names in the event she pursued legal action. I know that we will not be going back in there and feel very sorry for the employees (mostly young) that work there. read more

We're so disappointed in our experience with the deep dish Chicago style pizza. It was undercooked, and super watery. The crust was soggy and not edible. Though the pizza was a loss, my real disappointment is with the owner. I called over the person I thought was the manager to show him the soggy pizza with liquids running all around my pizza. He agreed that the pizza was undercooked. But he offered no resolution nor did he attempt to rectify the problem. So we left with our soggy pizza that remained soggy even after rebaking it. I thought, maybe the owner isn't aware of this issue, so I looked up the owner only to discover that the "manager" was indeed the owner. As a business owner, I would never allow my customers to leave my establishment with less than a stellar 5star experience. Never! I would have had the cook remake that pizza or I would have given my customer a refund and an opportunity to return again for the experience they were looking to have. Usually I read the reviews first but I wanted to give this place a chance as we love Chicago pizzas. I'm just disappointed. read more

I have been to this location three times and every time it was no good meaning food was not done right. Twice the pizzas were over baked and the third time we decided to try the lasagna and it too was dried out/ over baked And also on this visit we were treated to some nice language behind the counter between the workers while waiting for the food . mostly the use of the F word while they were talking together. I guess working and senting a good image to their customers is not at the top of their list . So three strikes I am out will never go back to this place . If you want to go to a good rosati's try the one in la Quinta, California. The one in la Quinta knows how to bake the food the right way and the way to send a good image to their customers. read more

I wondered in with some friends to get a beer and see what kind of happy hour munchies they had on offer. Their beer selection was acceptable. By that I mean they had a good list of local and foreign craft beer on tap at reasonable prices. Why do I sound so pompous you ask? Well let us all be honest and acknowledge that just about every Encinitas establishment now has an extensive list of great beers to offer. Rosati's is no different. Now in terms of the food, while I have not yet had the opportunity to try their pizza pies but I hear their great. What I have tried were the dough nuggets. Not a fan. Cheap? Yes. But common folks, give me some seasoning, some garlic brushing. Something! These are nothing more than pizza crusts... plain. I not even one of those people that leaves the crust on their slice, but who orders the pizza simply for the crust? Thats how I feel when eating these things, except I don't get the satisfaction of the pizza to balance it out. Maybe it would be different if it were some woodfired artisan style crust, but these are just plain ol pizza crusts. Maybe ya'll will feel differently, that's just my take on them. Anyway, that's why I had to take away a star. I guess I was expecting something like Pizza Port's Beer Buddies. High expectations make for great disappointments. O well, nice people, good beer. read more

I've actually been back twice since my bad review and I have noticed a difference. I wish I could give 3.75 stars, LOL. I don't think everything is great however, my beef sandwiches have been really good the last two times. As I try other thinks, hopefully my rating will go up. read more

Best pizza by far in north county. Family run franchise - staff is friendly and. Helpful. Great beer choices. Fun place to watch games.

Best pizza in Encinitas. Stop convincing yourself that all of the other "hipster/craft" pizza places are good. If you want pizza and appreciate what it should be, you'll never turn back after eating Rosati's pizza. read more

You know I've heard many things about this place up and down left and right sideways and any other where you can possibly think of. I literally have wasted but at least $100 of my hard earned money why you might ask cuz I'm hungry, and I have been living in Encinitas all my life. More then two occasions of me coming in, only was our food cold, unflavored, unseasoned, Bland, and embarrassing. But just to add something on top of that because I didn't think that was physically possible. I have heard rumors from some of my son's friends who no longer work for them thank God, they underpay, cheap they work their employees off the clock which is very illegal and they know it and the one that really got me that I saw with my own eyes, The Mail Manager who I heard is who I heard is also the owner would rather hit on and flirt with the beautiful blonde bartender that works there sometimes. And I'm not just talking about verbally unfortunately I have personally witnessed along with my wife who else was trying to treat to a nice meal group this young ladies behind more than once right in front of everybody like it's cool. That's very unprofessional and I've never seen anything like this. This guy doesn't deserve a restaurant like this in our town and what's even worse the research I have done on it the guys poor wife works there one day a week. Poor lady how embarrassing. This guy really need to start focusing on the food and the This guy really needs to start focusing on the food and the customer service rather than trying to play a wannabe Daddy. Thank God first free speech in this country because this is one of those situations why that rule is still around today. Take my word for It, don't waste your money here, I've had better meals at McDonald's. But please keep in mind if you do decide to give it a try and they make a mistake, don't count on getting your money back, the owner will just scream and yell at you and say, what would you like me to do. Any other restaurant in this world that you have a bad meal from, you will always get your money back no matter what. too bad they're taking up space where a good restaurant can be. Get real buddy. If I could I would give you no stars but I have to at least give you one, you don't deserve it though, where I come from you earn it read more

Stopped in here with a friend looking for an artisanal brew and was unexpectedly surprised. If you've been here, you know the location is somewhat strange.
