Great Chicago style thin crust. The double dough was also very good. We were visiting the area from AZ so finding some good pizza hit the spot. Highly recommend. Will visit next time in the area. read more

OH DANG! The pizza was amazing!! Our intention was to try the deep dish but Mike suggested the thin crust and he was right'! We had the classic combo and the white pizza. They were so flavorful and cooked to perfection! The ingredients are very good quality. The service was great and the live music was pleasant. It didn't hurt that we enjoyed delicious, frosty cold beer while watching the Padres game. read more

Rosati's Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Encinitas, California

Wanted to try this place for awhile. The kids got Straight As so we drove down from Oceanside to celebrate. Assuming it would be pretty busy for a Friday night, we called ahead. We asked if we could order and dine in. They said yes and asked if I was Jeff? Weird. Anyhow I told her we had four people and wanted a pepperoni and she suggested a large. When we got to the restaurant the boy at the counter was ultra confused. Couldn't find us in the system... etc. I told him it was a large pepperoni pizza, called in a few minutes ago. No luck. Finally the main lady came over and found it in a second. Then went to the bar to grab a beer. Got ignored and noticed they were serving the tables so sat down. When we got our pizza it was a cold sausage pizza. Took awhile for us to get attention to let them know it was the wrong pizza. After another long time they came by to say it must have been ordered under the wrong name and toppings. So I went back to the main lady and said we don't mind paying for the pizza but it wasn't what we ordered. She was nice enough to explain it was given to somebody else. The same lady that told us it was just the wrong name/toppings handed me the receipt and said "here, you got 20% off". No apology or anything. Long story, the pizza is good even cold but the customer service:empathy is lacking. read more

We visit Rosati's quite frequently (especially since I grew up in Chicago!) Mike, Marcey & Scott are always so friendly & accommodating. We call last minute with large groups after little league baseball games & they always make room for us! They even give a percentage back to the League!!! On Tuesday nights I love listening to the live music. If you're looking for a place to watch sports, have some good beer, food & friendly faces this is a great slice of Chicago in Encinitas! read more

Very nice service when I phoned for delivery. Delivery was on-time and deliverer was pleasant. Several vegetarian options, but the food was underwhelming and small for the price. On-line menu is difficult to read because of the white-on-black font. read more

We love Rosati's! Pizza was really yummy, delivery man was super nice, and I love have Chicago style pizza in Encinitas! Welcome Rosati's!

Great pizza ... but I ordered it with Rosati's hot giardiniera never having experienced it before and didn't realize just how hot and spicy it was. Next time I'll order without them. I've been hunting for great pizza in the north coastal area of S.D. besides Del Mar and Biorngiorno's and like Rosati's even better. We went mid afternoon on a weekday and service was friendly and very fast. This is my new go-to pizza place! read more

They kicked butt on their 18" Thin Crust pizza, love the cornmeal bottom. We ordered cheese and mushrooms. I'd come here again and again if I lived closer. CA take note of this place, Yummy. I like that it's a sports bar type Rosati's, plenty of room, even outside seating. read more

Pizza good. Wings good. Spaghetti with meatballs good. Beer good. Chicken Parm rubbery. Kitchen delivered meal 3 minutes after wings. Bartender did a great job of recognizing that we weren't happy with the chicken parm and got us replacement spaghetti with meatballs very quickly. All in all a good experience, sometimes food is less than perfect and a good restaurant recognizes that and makes it right. Would have been 4 stars, but they let a non service dog into the restaurant and it laid down right next to where we were eating. I love dogs, but non service animals are not allowed inside an eating establishment. They have a patio. Health code violation. We are fans of Rosati's and love the food, but it's getting a little unmanaged. read more

Super good wings, and the Italian beef is great,I hear the pizza is good but haven't tried it yet, staff is great,if your hungry in encinitas give this place a try. .and they deliver read more

Invited by friends and decided to go. My expectation was that the pizza would be similar to all others around town (in the non-franchise category). I was surprised. The pizza was a little different than the rest, and extremely good. The place gets busy quickly in peak times, so get your seat early. You'll shouldn't be disappointed. read more

I'm not from Chicago, so don't know if it's authentic. I got it as take and crust was soggy, maybe I let it sit in the box too long...not sure. I thought pizza was tasty - hubby not so much.... read more

One Word! Tasty! Great food with Great service at Decent prices! What is there not to like? Thank you. I will go back. read more

I've never thought that I would ever enjoy a Mc Donald's cheeseburger the way I did tonight. My family and I were invited to a birthday party for my daughter's teammates birthday. All was good until about an hour into our experience. The waiter told us that the food had not come out due to some issues. As working professionals, we all understood that issues happen. Unfortunately, after two hour and no pizzas, we lost our patience. We paid for our drinks and drove the Mc Donald's for dinner. This is by far the worst customer service that I have experienced. I wish that I could comment on their food but we never got to taste it. read more

Half off wings on Wednesday! Tons of beers to choose from, the bearded bartender was hilarious

I'm currently eating at the restaurant and writing this because I didn't want to forget to write about them. This place is great! I was waiting for a friend to show up so I just took a seat and a beer, but while I was waiting for my friend to show up, they came a few time to check up on me if I needed another drink or food. Once I got my food I was in awwww! The plate looked delicious and sure enough it tasted delicious too! Great food, beer and staff!!! read more

Pretty good Chicago-style pizza. Wish the crust was thicker. Also would be nice if the had specialty choices for the Chicago-style.

We had the pizza with sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions & olives. It was great. I will definitely go back next time I'm in San Diego!

There are too many other really good pizza places in Encinitas to go here. The pizza was average , service average, they charged for a tiny side of ranch dressing! Go to Pizzicato, Manhattan, Crust, we have so many other that are far better. read more

A decent Italian chain with pretty good pizza, pasta and fairly good selection of salads. Would love to see a non-pasta entree like chicken Marsala or piccata. Also wine selection is weak for an Italian place and they don't have a vinotemp so the red was served warm. All in all, not bad for the price but I feel with a few small changes they could be strong four stars or higher. Family run, everyone is really friendly. Also a weekly special would be nice, or coupons. That would get us in here more. The place has a lot of TVs and is pretty loud but everyone there seems to enjoy watching the games. Decent beer selection. Good for families. read more

Our friends had a pie delivered while we were visiting them in Encinitas. No complaints - It was pretty tasty, but I'll save the 5th star until I visit in person and try one hot from the oven. read more

Service is less than desirable--very slow. We left once because we were tired of waiting for someone to seat us. We've been there 3 times and we've only had decent service once. I don't recommend the lasagna...unless you like sweet lasagna. read more

It was literally the most delicious lasagna I have ever had aside from my grandmas..... Well done Rosati's, Well done!!!!!!!!

My husband is a HUGE fan of this place, mainly for their authentic deep dish Chicago style pizza and the cozy environment. For those of you who watch sports, they have several flat screens with all the games and great beer on tap. The service is great, the environment is low key, and they deliver! read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. Great location however the service is spotty. They are great at larger events but don't do well or maybe don't value the individual smaller order. They completely messed up our order for our family several times however when we had a large party there they were great. In my life I need consistency so I will not be visiting again read more

Most and only authentic Chicago pizza I've had. Great ambiance and family friendly environment. Came here with two other friends and ordered the mozzarella sticks, dough nuggets, and a large deep dish pizza (toppings: Italian sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, mushrooms and spinach) Everything came in a timely manner. The staff is very courteous from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave. They also provided live music. This place can fill up very fast, so come a little earlier to get your spot! read more

Love Rosatis! Sooooooo good!!! I've had it many times now and I have to say it's my favorite pizza place!! The sauce has a sweetness to it that I love! Pineapple with pepperoni and roasted garlic is my go to for the kiddos and I, but all of their pizza is good! Fried mushrooms and Italian beef are always a family favorite as well!! They need to start making garlic dressing thou for their antipasto salad's! We are in love! read more

First, and very definitely not my last, taste of Rosati's yummy pizza. Deee lish! Nice staff, too, which makes the tasty pizza that much nicer. Thanks, Guys! read more

Hours on website say open until 10pm. Arrived at 8:50, they said they closed the kitchen at 8:30 because it was slow. Glad we drove down from Oceanside. Should have just gone to Pizza Port. read more

I was having my car taken care of at the Ford dealer around the corner. I told my husband when he picked me up, we'd eat nearby. I had been here before and liked it. He said he wasn't the biggest fan of deepdish pizza (I told him that was their specialty), but we went anyway. At first, we were worried. A group of about 10 old folks were screaming and carrying on for a March Madness game. Yet we soon found them charming, as they were wearing Illinois shirts, and this place has the Chicago theme (saw photos on the wall of Dick Butkus, Walter Payton, and more; they should remove the Jim McMahon, as those of us in San Diego remember his time with the Chargers, and the idiotic behavior with the press and everyone else; but I digest. Just ate a huge pizza. We split a deep dish, with meatballs and pepperoni. Sometimes, meatballs on pizza aren't that good. These were delicious. We also liked that, aside from the two usual desserts you see at Italian places, they had a "deep dish cookie" with ice cream. We always like that. But we opted for this "Turtle Brownie" which had cookie dough and chocolate, and might be the best dessert we've ever had. Our only gripe is the service. It took an awful long time for our pizza. Maybe 40 minutes. If it takes longer for deep-dish, costumers need to be informed of this. It also took a long time for the refill on the soda, as well as the dessert to arrive. And it's not like the place was packed. Our waitress was nice, though...and we weren't in a big hurry, so that wasn't a really big deal. If we're in Encinitas again, we'll be back. We loved the food. Side note: I think the hipster bartender was in charge of the music. That was fine with us, because we heard The Shins and some other indie bands we dig. read more

Wow I am impressed. The prices are good, the beer selection is fantastic and the service was awesome. I had a friend recommend this place to me and Im glad they did! One of the owners, Marcella was here when I came in and couldn't have been nicer! Support a great local business and stop by, its worth it. read more

We usually order out from here but last night we went for Happy Hour. I need to start by saying the Happy Hour pricing has changed. Happy hour is now $1 off beer, wine & appetizers. We ordered the jumbo hot wings & they never fail to impress, served steaming hot & just the right amount of crunch to the skin. I ordered the GF pizza with Italian Sausage & anchovies. Hands down, the best GF pizza I have had-ever! The crust was light airy & crispy (not dense like so many crusts are) the sauce had just the right amount of "spice" to it & the Italian Sausage was both plentiful & mega flavorful. The anchovies simply added the saltiness I was craving but were not necessary in making this a really really good pizza. My husband ordered the small pepperoni & cheese pizza (he likes leftovers the next day) & he said the same thing about both the crust & the sauce. He said the crust is what has made him change his favorite pizza to Rosatis (we've been going to another local establishment for years but have now changed) Great selection of beer & wine, even a GF beer for me! TV s everywhere so we could watch golf, football & tennis at the same time :) staff was friendly, prompt & professional. Place was full by 6 pm which was awesome to see. I love to see a local business thriving! That being said, the wait for your pizza can be long-especially if you are getting a deep dish pizza-so order ahead of time so its ready for you when you get seated or just pick it up to go. Oh! the deliver too!!! Being just down the street from us I can see us returning frequently. read more

This pizza is da bomb diggity ! Best quality cheese and sweet delicious marinara sauce too !

Come hungry! This place is going to create 2 problems you'll be glad to have; the portions are huge, and they're so tasty you'll have a problem putting you're fork down even though you're stuffed! I'll be jamming here Super Bowl Sunday as well. Great sports atmosphere. read more

We've been here many times, they always take a long time to get the pizza out but my husband loves this place. Anyway, we drove 50 minutes to come get pizza, the appetizers got out fast and they waitress said that it's because it was slow, and it was! We waited, and waited and in the meantime the waiters including our waitress (Alex) was just walking around. One hour passed by and we asked her how much longer it would be for our pizza to come out and she said "let me check". Really? You should have checked sooner not when we ask you, and let me add that she did not come 1 time to see what we needed. She came back saying that the receipt had jammed. My husband goes to tell the manager (Scott) and he says that she hadn't put in the order for the pizza until later on. I let him know that it was not okay to be lied to! They offered to give us the pizza to go. Really? Wait longer and then drive an hour by the time we get home its cold?! No thank you! We are now on our way home to cook my daughter something since she only ate a couple French fries. It's safe to say we are never coming back to this place! Oh and also! Your bartender is also very unprofessional, she was talking to some guys at the bar and saying bad words. We were sat by the bar so couldn't avoid hearing everything, not family friendly at all! read more

Was craving deep dish and found this place. Very good for a chain. Deep dish was tasty and tomatoes had such good flavor you could put them on pasta. Great service big portions. Will probably get the 10" next time. And also I don't get people who complain they have to wait for 45 min its deep dish ! It takes a while to cook!!! read more

Took the family there last night and everyone who ordered chicken got bad food poisoning. Definitely won't be going there ever again.

I hate to say this but if I could give negative stars I would. We arrived at 8:30 pm on Friday night and we were seated after approx. 5 minutes. It took our waiter another 5 minutes to come take our drink order. At no point did anyone from the hostess or waiter inform us that they had turned the pizza oven off at 8:30. We told the waiter we were waiting for our son and date to arrive so we would order appetizers and then pizza when he got there. At roughly 8:50, after ordering appetizers, we were ready to order pizza at a "pizza" place and were informed the pizza oven was turned off. What establishment turns off the ovens when they are not even closed? Obviously they are not expecting much business later. So disappointed when our appetizers arrived but we could not actually order dinner. Manager tried to explain the stupidity of the decision but it only made them look even more pathetic. Can't comment on the quality of the food because this pizza place can't make pizza later in the evening...8:30 on a Friday night. For God sake, just close up and let another vendor take over the space. I have been here a couple of times before this but will never return and will make sure to tell everyone I know how moronic the management at this "pizza" place is....and finally when we walked out at 8:50, the manager was at the entrance turning away another couple trying to come in. Please go bankrupt and leave. read more

Love the deep dish pizza here! I think they need some better signage out front though! read more

This place is NOT GOOD! The food was absolutely awful, I had an Italian Beef which tasted like someone poured the whole can of salt on the sandwich. The peppers were slimy and saturated with grease. Even though I did not try it, while I was there eating, I saw a person also complaining about there so called Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. All in all it was a very disappointing experience and I suggest you skip this place if your are looking for good food. From the looks of other peoples experience on Yelp, I would be willing to bet this place will be out of business within the next year. read more
