Went to an event on 5/21/2016. Event was outside. Food was pre-ordered. Pizza was served hot, but did not stay that way, as by the time you went to the serving table the pizza was cold. Since I am from Chicago, the pizza was not that great, even though others think it was. My check was charged incorrectly, and had to be re-done because the waitress was so frazzled. Too bad, as I was looking forward to hot food for my dinner. read more

Good food nice staff terrible management. There were over 50 customers in the restaurant and only one waiter and one bartender. It took an hour to get one small pizza. read more

Unfortunately Rosati's was a let down for dinner tonight. A few good things were that the food came out piping hot, which I love, the ambience inside is great, and they had a great beer selection. The sad part was that the food was not tasty. Dough nuggets are a great idea, but they had no flavor whatsoever... And even were resting in a puddle of oil. In order to give the dough nuggets more flavor we asked for extra of marinara sauce and a side of ranch which they didn't tell us they charged extra for. The hot wings were OK, but nothing special about them. Just the usual franks wing sauce it seemed - and did not seem like they were jumbo at all as advertised. Our pizza came out after that, and it was a big disappointment. It looked kind of nice but the flavor was not there. The sauce was not good and the dough was just OK. There were not many interesting topping selections, and they charged a lot extra for them. It tasted just like a frozen pizza from the grocery store - which would've been much cheaper (this pizza was pretty overpriced). In the end, we paid $50 for a meal that was not worth it. We will sadly not be going to Rosati's again anytime soon. read more

Rosati's Encinitas! Filled with great employees as well as a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy delicious food. My favorite is the Lasagna for a pasta dish. I would go with thin crust, meat mania if you're looking for pizza or of course the deep dish pie is amazing too! If you've got a big family come in and order the Zeppoli for dessert! You won't be disappointed. Oh, and they've got their beer in! Specials Monday-Friday :) read more

Finally an awesome spot on el camino real with a great local draft selections, great happy hour prices ($4 for 16 oz; $6 for 22 oz; 1/2 off all appetizers), and great food selection (especially for any Chicago lovers). Julie was our server and kept our drinks and plates full. They have a variety of promotions on Chicago game days, if you wear Chicago attire they're likely to give you a nice freebie. At the end of the day this place is all about an awesome local craft beer selection, unmatched anywhere on el camino real, and a sports fans' paradise. read more

Great customer service. Good basic pizza.salad was nothing rememberable.whole pizza weighed less than the box so did not seem like it was much of a pizza. Just ok at best. read more

No taste, no flavor, just blahhh - Definitely not Chicago pizza - not a lot of toppings either. Cheese not gooey, nothin going on with the sauce, no flavor. Tried the thin crust. Even gave it the ultimate test - let it sit out overnight and tried for breakfast - still nothin. Da Bears, Da Bulls. Signed Cubby Fan - Pizza Boy read more

Came here for some pizza and beer, and just in time to catch one of the NFL football games. It was pretty slow for a Saturday afternoon. Service was great, plenty of TVs, and a wide selection of beer on tap. Didn't look too far into the menu cause my brother and I were set on a deep dish pizza. Pizza was good, reasonable prices. Nothing too special in my opinion read more

Today i tried rosatis pizza restaurant. Wow am i happy we stopped there!! I ordered the lunch special, a drink and a large pizza slice. I had the sausage pizza. Omg!! It was the tastiest pizza ive had in a long time. What i liked about that pizza, was the crust. It was nice and crunchy. And the service was perfect. I really recomend that restaurant. Theyre service and food was right-on!! Tony m. read more

I am sorry to update this. I hate the service MORE than I love the food. Good bye Rosati's .... It was me that walked out before I got my food. Understaffed in service but you have a greeter? Strange priorities. I wish you well but I wont be back.EVER. read more

This pizza is delicious! They have a thin, double dough, and Chicago style. I have tried both the thin and double dough and my favorite is the double dough with Italian sausage. It is definitely more of a solid Midwest pizza than a wood fired gourmet pizza joint. The thin is great but it so thin you can eat a ton of it. Sign up for their coupons on their website to get coupon specials. This place is also a great sport's bar and a Cub's bar (Chicago style pizza)! They have some great beers on tap. read more

We were looking to try the Chicago style deep dish pizza and this place did not disappoint, we also loved the garlic dough bits as appetizer. read more

This place was a really great experience. Service was friendly and attentive. But it was the food that really got me. I had the Jumbo Chicken Wings. I consider myself a wing aficionado, not a wing connoisseur. So when I say these are probably the best wings I've tasted and they were plenty big. After enjoying the wings and the fiancee's fried pickles with a tall cool 805. My deep dish pizza showed up. Although not the best deep dish I've ever had, it certainly was a tasty pie! Most impressed with the flavors of their sauces, they were truly delicious. I would highly recommend Rosati's to anyone! read more

Pizza smells delicious. It was done much earlier than expected.... the World Series was on the TV... and everyone was super polite!!! It was perfect. read more

Best pizza, hands down. Customer service never disappoints! If you are in town and want to try the place out, get any of their deep dish!

God forbid you get what you ordered. I live in the area and moved here from Chicago, the food is okay, the service is CRAP! If you order out 90% chance your order is wrong. When you call them and tell them that your order is wrong, they argue with you and tell you that you are wrong. Here are some great options in the area, Borellie's just down the street is great food and ALWAYS spot on with your order. Pizza Port's Roma pizza is way better than anything Rosati's has. This is not Chicago pizza they will be out of business soon as their service is terrible. read more

Rosati's Encinitas is amazing! I have had a piece of deep dish pizza about 10 years ago in Chicago, and it took me back! It was delicious! And the owners Mike and Debbie were so welcoming! Thanks guys! Amazing! read more

Great sausage pizza salads and sandwiches. From a Chicago gal it is nice to have a little Chicago in Encinitas. The service was excellent as well thank you Kieria! read more

I was in for Super Bowl LIII and enjoyed an good afternoon/evening... and when I went to check out.... I was confronted with my request for a cardboard take away box vs. a paper covering to be able to add to my "collection of take away towards a pizza reward". The BARTENDER was MOST offensive when I asked for the cardboard take award with the coupon (collectible towards future pizza purchases...) versus the paper sack... Then spoke with the "SISTER OWNER" Marsha and was given extra language regarding the "CARDBOARD BOX - TAKE AWAY"... and the cost of it... never explaining that they had changed the collectible coupons towards future pizzas. (I am guessing as when I examined the cardboard box 'take award' there was no "COUPON " imprinted thereon.) Left feeling very put out, after spending a goodly amount of $ that afternoon/evening... Asked about the owner MIKE and was told he had a stroke! (SO VERY SORRY TO LEARN THIS). Still in all, a very terrible experience at Rosait's for which is VERY UNCOMMON WHEN MIKE IS IN HOUSE AND RUNNING THE SHOW! The BARTENDER WAS DEPLORABLE, FOR A GENTLEMAN..., (?) THAT IS TO BE REPRESENTING THE ESTABLISHMENT... BY BEING SO IGNORANT AND ADAMANT ABOUT THE CARDBOARD TAKE WAY CONTAINER WITH NO EXPLANATION!!!!! AS TO WHY... NOW PAPER SACK. There are lot of "GOOD" PIZZA places in the local area and this being a "CHICAGO" style ... pizza place, has just been knocked off the NORTH COUNTY SD RESTAURANT REVIEW places of recommendations! Sorry Mike, speedy recovery! ... and after speaking with your sister with no compassion for the situation... Competition will prevail...and another Encinitas CA. establishment in this shopping center will probably "BIT THE DUST...". So sad! I truly hope you will address this situation straight away! read more

Sorry, I hate to give bad reviews, but this was really sub-par. Slow service, salty wings, HUGE foamy head on a pint of overpriced beer. At least the salad was good. Pizza okay. Feel free to try it but I'm not expecting this place to survive very long so you better hurry. read more

The food here was pretty good, great quality. But the service takes a long time even when they are pretty slow. However, they are at least nice here. read more

Went to Rosatis for pickup. They were organized and I didn't need to go inside. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. A perfect thin crust pizza and tasty dough nuggets. A SoCal reminder of a long-standing Chicago tradition. Definitely worth the drive from OC. Thanks for being open during this difficult time. read more

You'd never know you're not in Chicago! I've eaten at Rosati's back in the Chicago suburbs countless times and have been to this location twice. The deep dish is very good, but what I was craving most from back home was the thin crust cut in squares. Ahhhh..so legit! They also have tons of beer on tap. Nice new tables, chairs and decor; it's loud and casual - perfect for hanging out and relaxing or a chaotic dinner with the kids. read more

We had out company Holiday party here and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was great and the service was very good. You can definitely tell that they value their guests and I will make a point to come back here. read more

The only good thing about this poor establishment is the local beer...from San Diego...not Chicago. Their pizza is no better than chuckie cheese pizza. read more

Melody was incredible. She honestly expressed the menu and what she brought out exceeded our expectations by miles. Very tasty thin crust with lots of daily specials . I also tried the Italian beef sandwich with the auju sauce! Very yummy! Thanks for the lunchtime discount and great food!!! read more

Something about their Deep Dish Pizza...it's devine! At first I wasn't sure about the tomatoes on top, afraid it would make the crust soggy. It doesn't and it's addicting. make sure you have enough for leftovers :) read more

Do not order from this place. I ordered $60 worth of pizzas online. Apparently we classified it as a pickup, despite the fact that we wanted it delivered at 7 p.m. I called at 7:30 pm and was told that it was a pickup. Whether it was or not, the pizza was not ready at 7:30, so I asked for a cancellation of the order. Mike, the manager, yelled at me and told me there would be no refund despite the fact that the order was not ready 30 minutes after delivery/pickup. We had to call our bank and reverse the charges since these people refused to provide the refund for not one, but two mistakes and not only unfriendly service, but abusive responses. Do not ever, ever order pizza from these people. Do not ever, ever deal with this person Mike. Do not ever, ever trust anything they tell you on their Web site. I will make it my mission to make sure that as many people as possible know about how these 'people' operate as possible. One final thing - I called Mike a clod in my original review, which detracted from the point I was trying to get across. I do not think anyone should do business with him. After I posted the initial review, he called our home and screamed at me again. I put him on speaker, much to the shock of the room full of family members who heard his meltdown. That's who you're dealing with when you deal with this place. Go somewhere else and save yourself the aggravation. read more

Ok, in inland Encinitas, there is a dearth of great beer places. Your prior options were to go to the coast and hang out with tweens or head to Vista. Well I found a place that has a great set of taps, and great pizza. Rosati's fits the bill in spades. We have had pizza's there as well as to go and every one is great. We like the thinner crust stuff, but I'm sure the Chicago Deep Dish style is as good. The beers awesome with local stuff from North County as well a regional favorites. From lagers to Imperial IPA's, there is something for everyone. read more

I go to Chicago annually, and always bring home a deep dish pizza; mainly because I have never found a place that advertises Chicago style pizza that compares to anything I have tasted in Chicago. I am happy to say that Rosati's delivers that Chicago taste!! Their beer selection is great and so is their happy hour; the staff is super friendly!! I will def be back!!! read more

Was great to walk in and find a lil taste of home (Chicago), décor was on point and the deep dish pizza was on point (meaning great). Talked to the owner who was from Chicago as well and had a great conversation with him, nice to know that if I want a taste of home, I have a spot right down the road. The sports flags in the bar area were a great touch. read more

Staff was very nice. Good beer selection. I can sum up the food with one word "Chain". This ain't Chicago Gangsta!

I had the Italian sausage, mushroom, onion pizza, the red sauce is very flavorful. The pizza was thin and crispy, especially the outer pieces. I would defiantely return. Nick, the bartender was very informative and friendly. read more

Rosati's Pizza - Best Pizzeria in Southern California! - Pizza Near Me - Encinitas, California

We were excited to try this relatively new Pizza joint. Arrived early (5pm) & hungry on Saturday.. to miss the dinner crowd. When you walk in.. you have to hover near the door, feeling awkward and in the way of the take-out counter and waiting area for take-out. No one acknowledged us. (Note to staff: A smile and friendly "hi.. someone will be right with you".. is always appreciated and common courtesy. ) After about 5 mins.. we were taken half way into the place by the owner/ manager(??)... and he mumbled something like... 'huh... be right back'. There are surprisingly few tables inside. We were left near the bar (which seems to take up at least 1/3 of the place).. just waiting for him to return (another 5 mins). We didn't want to sit outside in the glaring sun and heat --- and we didn't want to sit at the very large bar. And I guess he didn't want to put the 2 of us in one of their few remaining tables meant for 6-8. So we left. This is not a place to go with your s/o for a meal. It seems like it's strictly for large families and the after-work Happy Hour crowd. Instead, we went to Hapi Fish for sushi, where we are always welcomed and made to feel like they appreciate our business. read more

Sorry, wanted to like this place. I'm someone who would say that there is not really such a thing as terrible pizza, but the one I had here was pretty bad. It was $20 for a 12" thin crust pizza, half veggie, half cheese. We were the only people ordering food at the time, the restaurant was basically empty. It took about 35 - 40 minutes to get, and when we got it was... not burned... but I think it was really overdone. The crust was like a cracker, very hard, dry, we didn't eat any of the outside crust because it was too overdone/hard/not good. Honestly, I wish I hadn't eaten it, not worth the calories. I would almost never say that about pizza. Maybe we should have ordered the deep dish. The had some live music, which was really nice. That was one good thing. Food was not good. read more

They were late on our orders the people behind me got their food ate it and left. Also got my otter wrong twice and forgot to get it once.

Legit Rosati's thin crust pizza. I can now get my Chicago thin crust pizza fix. Lose the White Sox flag. Go Cubs! Summer was awesome, just like the season! read more

Fun place for a pizza and beer night! Delicious wings and deep dish, we will be returning for sure.

I just like the awesome salads this place has. The chopped chicken salad is enormous and really dynamic. Has a lot of different ingredients without compromising the "heathy" aspects. It's worth the 13.99 price because it's basically a family salad or two meals for one. read more
