Such a big difference from my initial review. This time, we didn't even get to order and walked out after we sat down. The place is as hectic as ever which is why I guess they can afford to lose customers now. We walked in on a Tuesday evening and wanted to sit down to eat. We were just a bit confused of what to do since there were no signs indicating if we should seat ourselves or if someone would show us to our table. One of the guys behind the counter made eye contact with me twice and just looked away. We were clearly confused and a "Can I help you guys?" would've been fantastic. But we decided to go to the counter to place an order and just sit down. We ordered 2 slices and an eggplant parm hero and then she asks "is this for takeout or to stay?". We said it's to stay...and she just tells us to grab a seat and place the order there. Why couldn't be just place the order with her...I don't know. So we sat down assuming the server would come take our order...made eye contact...aaaaand ignored. There were maybe 3 other tables that were occupied so it wasn't that busy. Not even a "I'll be right with you". So we got up and walked over to IHOP. There was a fruit fly in the grated cheese. My friend and I did not notice it until after we already used it on our pizza slices. I let them know and handed the bottle with live bug inside to a waitress. She asked if we wanted a fresh bottle of grated cheese, but we had said no that we had already used it on our pizza as she walked away. We were not offered any fresh slices of pizza and yes, we ate the slices anyway even with the fruit fly grated cheese on it unfortunately, we were hungry. We've been a loyal patron to this once awesome family restaurant, that is before what happened today. We called to put the order over the phone at 12:45pm for 3 pastas. We were told to come back in 20 minutes for pick up, great, our 5 year old daughter was very hungry. We went back at 1:15pm, no food for pick up, asked the staff, they said the orders are coming and in 10 minutes. Another 20 minutes passed by, no food for pickup in sight. We talked to the owner, the owner admitted at 1:35pm that the orders were not put through due to system issues, and went ahead and raised his voice, saying "things happened, what do you want me to do? You want the order or not?!!!" Since we already paid and we (including the daughter are so hungry), we decided to wait. It's now 1:46pm, no food in sight still.. We are very very very upset about the attitude of the staff at this place. If you didn't put through the order, at least be honest and tell the customers. Please really be thoughtful of the customers' time, especially those with young children who are in need of food. My daughter has been waiting for too long, and she fell asleep in the car with an empty stomach... I would give 0 star if I could. The fact that Rosa's landed such a iconic location is a pretty big deal... I love that they combined two vacant stores to expand, this location certain fills up quick and I was pleased by the pizza. There's quite a number of options, the slices are huge so dont over order! Pizza tasty Greek salad is bland Customer service is poor , I went to the young man at the counter to ask him what's in the Greek salad .. he responded lettuce, and I said that's it? He caught an attitude. The menu just says green salad doesn't say what's inside. As someone that's been to many Greek restaurants Greek salad is not lettuce. I am always in the mood for pizza and I am so glad I discovered this local pizza spot! Their pizza is not going to blow your mind but it is definitely above average and is great when you're craving a slice. The varieties I have tried are the vegetable, pepperoni mushroom and buffalo chicken. The ingredients are high quality and the crust to cheese/topping ratio are just right. As a man of my word i gave this place another shot. Customer service is much better, friendly greeting and asks right away what you would like even if the people in front of you can't decide. Plain slice is pretty good, so much that i went back another day for one. The Sicilian/upside down slice is ok as well as the grandma, i prefer the plain more. read more

Pretty disappointing experience tonight from a fan of the Rosa's franchise of pizza who was thrilled to have one closer to home. Stopped in at 7:00 on a Saturday night and the only options available were regular, grandma, and Sicilian slices - with the kitchen being closed and no other options available. People came in to pick up orders they placed online and had to be refunded since the items they ordered weren't possible. I'll be reviewing again in a few weeks and hope I can update this to a much better review, but for right now things don't seem to be off to too good of a start at this highly anticipated location. read more

A new pizza shop located in the bay terrace shopping center in bayside queens. I predict the restaurant is up and coming. The owner and staff were very nice and welcoming. The wait was a bit much. They were honest about some of the challenges and changes they are making to enhance their place. The restaurant was very clean. The food was good. Ive gone three times, each time it's been very busy. Feels like they're still figuring out their flow, but the wait was manageable. My aunt told me about this shop. She loves their soup. I went back, purchased a chicken roll which was very good and a generous size. I returned again another day and purchased a large pizza and chicken parm for my family, which was also very good, we'll go again. read more

Rosa's has become my new favorite pizzeria in Bayside. Their pizza shelves are always fully stocked with all varieties of slices, sandwiches and calzones. The pizza is tasty with my favorite slices being the Upside Down, Chicken Bacon Ranch, and Salad slice. I have yet to order anything other than pizza or knots but if their slices are any indication, I'd imagine their kitchen entrees are just as good! read more

I love Rosa's and that it's in Bay Terrace. Love what they did with the place and their unique slices. I wish that the menu had better salad options, and if they did, it would take the place to another level. It's such a shame that the youth of today will and can kill a business because the owner is too clueless to know that they're not doing their job correctly. A bunch of kids run this pizzeria. You got 2 grumpy older guys behind the counter who couldn't care less about anything, and a bunch of high school kids waiting on you and screwing up your order. The service is absolutely horrible. I was given a menu 25 minutes after I sat down in the dining area. When I finally ordered, it took over 30 minutes to come out! When my food arrived it was COLD. The staff here really needs to improve or they will go out of business as fast as tbe opened. The food isn't all that great either. Absolutely not worth it. Been there several times. Pizza, heroes mediocre at best. They served us cold slices more than once, we had to ask to have them heated up again. They allow teenagers that hang out there to take off their shoes and lie down in the booths with feet hanging out. Another visit, a man was shouting into his phone the whole time, staff said nothing, so I did after 10 minutes. Same visit, the guy behind the counter, lean middle aged guy was totally kissing a woman's butt. Very attractive lady with her boyfriend, the counter guy pathetic "so how are you, how you been, good to see you " repeatedly . Staring, ignoring her BF. Guy brings the pizza to her table almost running, still ignoring the bf, still asking her the same questions, staring at her from counter. Total unprofessional B.S... I was excited to try out the new pizza place but was hugely disappointed. 1. Service - poor and lacks training and hospitality. We asked the guy for a min to take a look at what they have and while we were looking at the options, he kept grilling us. The girl cashier wasn't friendly at all - no 'how are you' or 'thank you'. I don't expect fine dining hospitality service but the basics are needed especially when it's a GRAND OPENING and as a paying customer. 2. Hygiene - while they were heading up our pizza slices, there was a large man behind the cashier in a dark red shirt, one hand in the cheese bin just messing with it and the other hand scratching his beard for a good 30 seconds. Disgusting. 3. Food - we ordered 2 plain cheese slices to see if it's a good pizzeria, it was very basic and the whole cheese was falling apart; not in a good way. The garlic knots barely have any garlic taste. The pizzerias I've been to give marinara sauce so I asked the cashier "do you give marinara sauce with the garlic knots" and with a stoic face, said "no" then went on to say "but I'll give it anyway". .. what? Makes no sense and again goes back to the basic hospitality service. 2 plain slices, garlic knots, one soda was $14. Wouldn't mind paying this or even more if the service and food was par. Unless you're absolutely craving pizza and have to stay near bay terrace then it'll suffice. But if not, just go down on bell and go to VIPizza. Think they need to replace this one with another pizzeria if they keep this up. read more

Not sure why the bad reviews. I know everyone has different tastes, but it was some of the best pizza I have had in a while. I tried the plain, pepperoni and . margarita. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. The mooz was excellent, the sauce was perfectly balanced, and the crust was delightful and delicious. The fresh basil was a nice touch and even the oil was higher quality than most places. All 4 of us in my party enjoyed it. Glad I found it after a long day at Fort Totten Park (only 5 minutes away). And though I live 25 minutes away, I'll definitely make the drive for a great slice. read more

Ordered the Upside down pie over the phone and ate in at the restaurant. Pizza was ready in 20 min and was nice and hot upon arrival. Sat down to a clean and spacious dinning area. Crispy corner piece was with nice sauce and cheese distribution. The sauce was tasty and easily took down two slices and wanting another without really thinking about it. Recently dined in at this local pizzeria and experience was one not to be desired. I'll start with the good. The dining area is very bright and plenty of seating. Tons of parking in a big lot but there is always a tough guy that parks his mustang in 4 spots to avoid someone dinging his car. The service is certainly lacking. We went to take a seat and the table was filthy and we had to wipe it down ourselves. We ordered our food at the counter multiples times since the gentlemen that screamed "next" every 30 seconds would not take the order and shuffled us down to the register. Once ordered the food came out fairly quickly and piping hot. The server whispered our name to no avail she then yelled it angrily to get our attention. Once the food was delivered to the table it was pretty good. As we quietly ate our food we watch the gentlemen behind the counter touch every single slice of pizza behind the glass with their bare unwashed hands. Picking pieces of meat and cheese and placing them on other slices. As we thought what an unwelcoming sight we ate on. Little did we realize later that evening we would become quite ill and the toilet echoed with that's amorè. Unfortunately we will no longer be visiting this location. we do wish them the best but between the service. The cleanliness and the leaning tower of Pisa in the toilet we cannot recommend. read more

Walked in ordered, tried to find the cleanest seat out them all because they were all pretty dirty (seat and floor) was there for 30 minutes and it still wasn't cleaned by the time we left..... maybe that's why they have soo many flies. On the walls, near the soda machine; figured it would've been clean because it just opened recently. If they don't clean the tables they aren't cleaning that fountain station either. I had a broccoli and cheese roll that you had a search to find the cheese and the broccoli was frozen broccoli with WAY too much garlic on it, I like garlic, but I don't like when garlic powder is substitute for garlic because it doesn't taste the same The sausage roll was disgusting. It was full of gristle, and the sausage was cut length wise in quarters so when you took a bite, the whole quarter of the sausage came out and the skin of the sausage was so tough you could not chew it. I've been to most of the Rosa's Pizza locations years ago when I was a kid, so I was looking forward to having one conveniently located in an outdoor shopping center. I never liked the old Jack's Pizza (which had dry, stale pizza), so I figured this new place had to be better. I also spread the good word for family members & friends to try the new place. This was the second time I ordered from here to give it a fair chance. Well, I was surprised that this Rosa's in Bayside isn't quite the same as what I'm familiar with. The cheese on my pizza slices looks barely melted & sort of tastes plastic-y (it just hangs thinly on top & is easy to remove), and the buffalo was hardly spicy at all. The bbq chicken pieces tasted ok. The thick crust was the tastiest & best part. I'm surprised that, weeks later, the restaurant still seems to serve the specialty slices in a sloppy way. I ordered these same 2 slices on 2 separate days, but there was still no improvement in either taste nor appearance. Appearance, as well as taste, matter. It doesn't even seem like a Rosa's. I hope it gets better. For now, I'm going elsewhere. I might give it another chance in a few more months for nostalgia's sake. read more
