Worst pizza I've had in my entire life and that says a lot. We ordered a regular pie, a chicken marsala pie and one chicken Francese hero. The chicken Marsala was like they threw boiled chicken on top and added little to no Marsala sauce on it. Seriously, It was borderline inedible! Don' t even get me started on the Chicken Francese hero. It had one chicken breast cut into 3 pieces with no sauce and some parsley thrown at it. If you're going to charge me 15 dollars for this, they could have at least cut the one chicken breast into thirds evenly. I opened it and was embarrassed for them. My husband and I literally laughed when we opened the hero box! This is a far cry from good pizza or anything even remotely edible for that matter. Pizza Chef has great variety of pizza. My favorite is the bruschetta slice and the eggplant slice. I've been getting their egg plan parm heroes which is soooo good and not sloppy looking (look at photos). I mean I have to take 10 Tums to avoid heartburn but it's so worth it. The staff are normally friendly albeit busy. Due to Covid, they have less of a selection, but still good enough choices to choose from. 4 years later and Pizza Chef officially went down hill. Ordered three chicken Caesar salads. One with no crotons or dressing. Go to pick up the order and they try to give me two mixed salads with chicken and some kind of other salad I did not order. None of the salads had dressing in them. I only asked for one with no dressing. I did not ask for tomatoes, olives, onions or anything else in the salad yet that is what they tried to give me. I walked out of Pizza Chef without my order. Get home and hubby calls them to apologize about walking out the way we did and the so called manager is going to turn around and tell my husband he has high standards. Excuse me but three chicken Caesar salads one without crotons or dressing is not a difficult order nor is it high standards. Pizza chef is not capable of getting an order correct. This is not the first time this has happened but it is the last. They lost out on an order they were charging over $70.00 for. Went somewhere else ordered a better salad and more food for less money. If the person taking the order at Pizza Chef writes the order down correctly then obviously the kitchen crew can not read and comprehend. Very easy order ... I'll write it again Three chicken Caesar salads One without crotons or dressing = romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, shaved cheese (look how simple that is) . NOT DIFFICULT. Pizza Chef has been our go to place for years however a recent order left us very disappointed. 1. The eggplant rollatini was soggy with oil, it was not seasoned and whatever was inside did NOT taste like ricotta. In fact none of it tasted as it should. 2. The chicken franchese which used to be enough for two, was very sparse with two small pieces of chicken and the sauce was thin and missing butter. The rich unctuous sauce of the past was not there. 3. And as in previous reviews the menu prices are much lower than the actual cost AND the menu lists 4 pieces in the eggplant order but there were only 3. The young man on the phone told me it would take one hour to one and a half hour. I called again at 6:27 pm and I was told the order was " on the way." It is now 7:26 pm and the order has not arrived. I called again twice and they are not picking up the phone. I have ordered from this place before without an issues. What I love is their whole wheat vegetable pizza, if you haven't tried it, try it! Also they have gluten free pizza good for those who are allergic to gluten! The prices are not bad. They also have many other food options here which I am sure you will enjoy. They make really good chicken rolls. And they make good sandwiches. Hot, fresh and tasty. Almost had a perfect mix of cheese and fresh tomato sauce (though it probably could have used a bit more sauce in my opinion). Great pizzeria. The owner is nice and the people working there are very nice too. The restaurant is clean, the pizzas are hot, and the sodas are cold. Doesn't sound like out of the ordinary but it's surprising how many pizzerias can't seem to manage to pull off all three. These people take pride in what they serve and it shows. Their regular slices are cheesy goodness, best enjoyed fresh and on site. If you want something different, they have a heavenly special called the Lasagna...get a slice and try it...Garfield would approve even on a Monday. They also don't mind special requests so long as they have the ingredients. A personal favorite - eggplant and ricotta pie. If you like your pizza crusty and super hot you can ask them to super heat it. They deliver but last I checked they only take cash for delivery. Our first visit was after we drove into Queens from VA. There is plenty of parking in the lot of this shopping center, especially considering the area. You come in and order at the counter in front of their wonderful spread of pizzas. You also pay at the counter. All of the guys there seem to be genuinely interested in providing good food. Long story short: they have great pizza, so get that! Our first visit, we had something like a dinner special or combo. Between the four of us we had 2 Chicken Parms, 1 Eggplant Parm, and 1 Sausage and peppers. I didn't care for anyone's entree, to be honest, because they tasted frozen possibly. The two Parm dishes were ALL breading no meat/eggplant or flavor at all. The combo came with a side of pasta, but there was too much liquid on the plate (everyone's) and it ruined the dish. I will say we were probably the last table of the night, but that shouldn't be an excuse. I should have gone with my gut and gotten a slice of pizza instead of the entree dinner... On our second visit: LOVE the pizza!! They are beautiful big slices that are not all greasy and sloppy. Good crust and sauce flavor. They had a nice selection on the counter. Unfortunately they charged us for this tiny paper cup of tap water... who does that?? I think the owners should put in a beverage fountain, since it's the type of place you order and pay, I'd have no problem getting my own drink. So good! My boyfriend and I have been meaning to try this place because it's near our grocery store. I am so glad we did! He got a white slice and a buffalo chicken slice. I got a bruschetta slice and a caesar salad slice. We each ate a garlic and pepperoni roll. Neither one of us (for probably the first time ever), could finish both our slices. They were so filling! Everything we got was so delicious! The salad was very fresh. The only reason for 4 stars is that it was a little on the expensive side(we spent about $30 for lunch) for a pizzeria.
