I have had three root canals at RootVision Endo by Dr. John Lee. He is so knowledgeable and efficient. I don't get nervous having a root canal when he is doing it. He will give a lot of information about what is going on with your tooth. Also, he seems quick and doesn't waste time. Personally I don't like being confined to a dental chair for any great amount of time. The last time I saw him i was suffering from TMJ and he made a very good suggestion on how to handle it which was a great help. read more

I can highly recommend RootVision Endo for your specialty work. Doctor Annie was wonderful throughout the process explained everything well and completed the procedures without any pain. In the end she also did a final checkup a week later to ensure all was ok before I was off to place permanent crowns. Really appreciate her above and beyond expertise. I've also done one five years ago and it's still going strong so I definitely trust her work and her colleague Carmen she was also a great asset to root vision and her team. The front desk associates are also very friendly and worked with my insurance and payment plan, I had to pay more than expected but what I received here was definitely worth it. (the first ever in my life) I had an issue with my insurance approval for the procedure but the office manager bent over backwards to over come any issues and help keep my appointment day of. She is a star in my book! Procedure took about 2 hours (two teeth). Was comfortable, the nurses and doctor were gentle and informative. The offices are clean and professional. Words cannot describe the topnotch, wonderful, and attentive care my husband received from RootVision Endo Glendale and Dr. Annie Zhujiang. My husband was in need of a root canal for over 3 years and after a lot of convincing and two infections he finally decided to go. It was extremely difficult for my husband to take time off of work to go get the root canal but they worked around his schedule making the process easy and stress free. THE BEST !!!! look no further ! From the first call where the sweetest most compassionate Megan answered the phone & assured me Dr Lee will take care of my 9 year old who had an emergency situation. I went in for some work a few weeks ago and I had a infected tooth. I was in a lot of pain from it and was prescribed an anti biotic and some ibuprofen along with a pain med that the pharmacy's cannot get. There was a break down in communication that weekend and I ended up having to just deal with the pain for about 3 or 4 days. I was super pissed needless to say. I came on yelp and wrote a very shitty review about RV endo. It has been about three weeks since the work was done. And my tooth is healing slowly and I'm still having some pain so even though I did not want to go back I had to do so anyways. my second visit went very well. Even though I had written a shitty review they were still very nice and accommodating to me. I want to go on record and take back the poor review that I had written about this place. They really do good work and have state of the art equipment. I would very much recommend this place to my family and friends. I wrote my first review in pain and full of negative emotion and today, I take it all back. This is a great practice and I will keep coming back!!!! read more

So let me start by saying that I rarely write reviews. However, I had such a great experience here that I feel like sharing! I had a root canal done yesterday with Dr. Kim Vaglio and she was amazing! She was very thorough in explaining everything to me and something about her just made me feel comfortable right away. She was kind and patient with my questions and I didn't feel like she was rushing me through it. I've had four other root canals done by other dentists, (don't judge!), and this one was by far was the one that hurt the least and the one where I felt most at ease! Coming from someone who despises getting dental work done, that says a lot. Then there's the assistant, Gina. She's a blast! She also made me feel comfortable the entire time and was so nice and funny. I felt like I had known her for years the way she talked to me. She also explained every detail to me before my procedure and for the after care as well. She kept checking to see if I was okay while I got worked on the whole time and I appreciate that! The office manager Jennifer helped me sort out a slight issue with the dreaded insurance stuff and finances. I really did appreciate her doing this and although it might not have been a big deal for others, to me it made a big difference! I should also mention that the whole place was clean and didn't have a depressing décor like other places, which I liked. All in all, my experience here yesterday was the best! Root canals are the worst but thanks to this team of people, I got through it and with almost no pain at all- THANKS!! I was nervous at first and dreaded going to the dentist but Jennifer answered all my questions and made me feel at ease explaining each step of the process. Ok. I admit. I don't have great teeth. After avoiding the dentist for years despite having a loose filling :( I guess it was only a matter of time before I needed a root canal. I've had horrible experiences with dentists.. totally incompetent people whom you would NEVER know would screw up your teeth until the deed is done!!! Then its too late. UGH. I have a crap HMO but I was able to get a referral to see a specialist or an endodontist (a root canal specialist). And honestly, I had nightmares before my appointment and I was shaking the entire morning from anxiety. From the beginning, the receptionist (Lilia) really put me at ease. She is a total motherly type, taking care of all patients by first offering coffee, lotion, magazines, etc. Really took care of you!!! She is also very fast at contacting insurance and making co-payments perfectly clear. (root canals = $$$). You could tell she really cares for her patients. But Dr Shimizu was the one that really blew me away! He told it to me straight. I don't need a root canal. Yes I have a deep cavity (probaby from that loose filling) but it is not an imergent situation. I may need a root canal in the future if the cavity gets any worse, but the decision is completely up to me. He showed me my x-rays and explained the whole process to me, pros and cons, then left me alone to make a decision. I felt absolutely no pressure to get anything done. I called my mom and we decided just to get it over with, and I won't have to worry about this tooth in the future. Even the receptionist and the dental assistant talked to me about the decision. So I said "yes" to the root canal. And I am so glad I got it done with Dr Shimizu. I did not feel a thing and he was done in 30-40 min flat. Yes he gave me 3 shots (again i felt nothing) and we had to wait 15 min for the analgeic to kick in, but I was amazed at his technique. His hands are a amazing! He gives you goggles to protect your face. Vasoline to protect your lips. He hides his instruments and needles so you don't freak out. And he uses this crazy camera/microscope to see everything better. And bedside manner = excellent. He talks you through the whole process (what he is doing) and afterwards he shows you the AFTER x-ray on the monitor to show you what he has done. And I had a billion questions and he took time to answer them all. I honestly couldn't ask for more. Ive never in my life had such a great dental experience! Afterwards I called all of my worried friends and told them I was still alive :) **HIGHLY RECOMMENDED** read more

HORRIBLE experience. I got up and walked out halfway through my Dr. exam. My dentist recommend a Dr. Bardy? (now retired from this office). She wanted him to look at an x-ray of an old crown/root canal of mine she'd taken just the week before my visit. She saw a shadow on it and thought we should check it out. In a 15 minute phone call with this Endo office days before I went in, I finally got the receptionist/Dr. to agree they would first look at the existing x-ray before they forced me to have new x-rays (I'm NOT a fan of excessive radiation). They said they would get the x-rays sent over before my visit in 3 days. I arrived and they tried to get new x-rays from me straight off. They hadn't even requested the x-rays from my dentist so I had to wait a half hour for that to happen. Then some different dentist (I can't remember his name unfortunately) came in, and first kept trying to get me to say I had some pain in that tooth. No, I kept saying, I didn't have any remarkable pain in that tooth, there was some tightness occasionally but I was there to have the X-ray checked out per my dentist's request. Then, without even taking a careful look at my tooth, he started telling me that it was time to get a new crown. (A five year old GOLD crown?) He started drawing a visual for me, about how food gets stuck between teeth, as though I was a five year old, and suggested that was causing problems. I asked if he'd even looked at the X-ray yet, and he said condescendingly (of my dentist who recommended HIS office to me) that my dentist's x-ray (hers was film not digital, which in my opinion are often easier to see contrast on - and I'm a pro photographer who's spent TONS of time in darkrooms looking at shades of gray) was no good. I got out of that chair, told the dentist I was NO ok with how he was handling the visit, said goodbye to the front desk and left, shaking I was so disturbed by the experience. And, all who know me know, I am NOT easily shaken. read more

OMG, I don't even know where to begin. I finally made an appointment with Dr. Quan Nghiem after looking for the best endodontics to do a re-treat for my tooth after 12 years and 3 years of pain. The front staff was so nice and professional. The doctor's assistant Tony was great and explained everything before and after the procedure. Dr. Nghiem was wonderful and so gentle and made sure I was ok during the procedure. The whole treatment was EXCELLENT AND PAINLESS. I have had so much bad experiences that I couod barely trust others but this doctor gain my trust after all the good reviews and my own experience. It just took a little over an hour and it was finish before I know it. I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. read more

Okay, i have had 3 root canals, 2 implants (one failed by a bad oral surgeon and i had to repay again to get it done all over by a different dr) and over 20 cavities over my years and i am only 30 years old. Now with all the work that i have had done over the years i have learned a lot.. including befriending a dentist buddy who has also educated me further. So now with that in mind.. two of my past root canals are infected. The reputation of Dr.Quan alone sent me to this office. Im not an idiot when i sit in a dentist chair. I have done this so much i know what questions to ask and where to price it and what my options are. I have to tell you yelpers out there.. that Dr.Quan is one of the most honest, easy listening, humble dentist (endo) i have ever met. He told me straight up no b.s what my options entailed and what to expect and what the percentages of the succesful options are. Now remember everyones teeth are different- genes, hygiene,bone,- not every procedure works but a good dentist is like a lawyer someone thats going to watch out for you honestly and fearlessly. The staff was great. I could care less about waiting times and staff when it comes to the man of the hour the doctor.. but really i mean the lady helping me out (I'm so bad with names sorry) offered me water, sparking water, diet coke (my drink) and was just so welcoming and funny. Kudos to the ladies here. This is a real good office and if you complain about this place your an idiot. Probably one of those people i hate that goes to disneyland and find something to complain about. Probably one of those kids that use to cry about everything even at your birthday party and then you got older and discovered yelp and realize all your negative thoughts and expressions could be shared and read.. anyway, where was I? oh yeah, this place 5 stars! Doesn't deserve any less from a guy who will go down in the history books with being plagued with the genes of the worse teeth issues ever. read more

I've been here twice in the last 3 years for a 2nd opinion and evaluation of a cracked molar. Both times Dr Shimizu advised that I didn't need a root canal. In fact, the first time he sent me to USC School of Dentistry to have my mouth guard filed down to fit my teeth better and the 2nd time, he said a conservative replacement of my current fillings would work fine - no root canal needed or recommended. Dr Shimizu is the best of the best. He's honest, extremely good at what he does and he isn't interested in collecting bad karma (by advising dental work that doesn't need to be done.) If you're looking for someone completely trustworthy in southern California, it's Dr Shimizu. read more

I want to give them 4.5 stars. Dr. Sagong almost has excellent chairside manners and Gina who assisted him is top, top notch. The administrative staff is also nice, friendly, and helpful. Cons: Took too many X-rays. My regular dentist who referred me to them had already taken X-rays specifically for the problem at hand, but it is their company's policy to not accept any X-rays from other offices. They started with a couple, and then a CT X-ray as well. I had no choice in the matter. What I found most disturbing is that in the middle of the procedure they did it again.... at least 2 more times! One cannot protest because you can't talk with all the gadgetry still in your mouth. And at the very end of the procedure, yet another CT X-ray....that's where they walk you into a separate room that houses the special machine. I found the number of X-rays taken extremely excessive. Doctor is diagnosing or working on other patients while he is still working on me. The dentist kept leaving my side in the middle of my procedure to do this. I know this because it's one big open space and I could hear what he was saying, and the sounds of his instruments very clearly. The entire ordeal took exactly 2 hours and 45 minutes! He was the only doctor in the office at the time. This was extremely aggravating! My mouth was tired, numb but tired. In all fairness, my procedure was complicated, but not complicated enough to take almost 3 hours. At the beginning I asked how long it would take and was informed it would take approximately 1 hour. This office was clearly medically short-staffed and this doctor over-worked. read more

Excellent, modern office! I had to get an emergency root canal procedure due to the overwhelming pain I was having in my tooth. They took me the same day and took my insurance as well. The front desk was very pleasant and Dr. Shimizu was very attentive and professional. I felt no pain or discomfort during or after the procedure. It was fairly quick as well. I was given the Doctor's direct line if I needed to reach him over the weekend. Great bedside manners. Overall a great experience for a procedure that has a really bad reputation. I was having pain on my tooth. I went to my dentist and he referred my to this office. I walk in and it's a really nice office they have snacks and all sorts of beverages. The front desk girls are really nice and friendly. I did not have an appointment and said they will see me just to hold tight, which was very nice of them. I see Dr. starts with a "K" I forgot lol. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable he explained to me everything about the procedure he was very detailed and asked at the end if he could answer anything else for me. Then I went to the front desk to see how much everything will cost I was thinking It was gonna be BIG $$$ She said my co-pay is this much and that much and I was very happy with everything. There was no surprises they were very prepared and called my insurance beforehand. I was a bit nervous going in for a ROOT CANAL! But i was nervous for nothing! They have a large flat screen tv that you can watch whatever you like. I did NOT FEEL A THING!! it was PAINLESS! I was literally falling a sleep! I was so surprised. I went home and after the numbing went away I still did not feel pain. I wake up today and no pain! Im just a happy camper now. His assistant Jenn was really nice as well. My mother, was recently a first-time dental patient at RootVision Endo, as a result of a direct referral from her primary dentist. She was referred due to a major problem with a tooth which was also in question, as to whether or not the tooth could be saved. When we arrived, the first thing we noticed was how clean this office is. The initial process of filling out paper work was very simple and pleasant; this was due to the warm welcome and great help from the two receptionists: Assette and Nadia.. They were both very helpful and engaging, and made the initial consultation very pleasant. After a few minutes, we were seen by Dr. Hoon Sagong and he immediately began his evaluation of my mother's tooth. During the course of the evaluation, Dr. Sagong was not only very thorough and professional, but he also sustained a friendly demeanor which made my mother feel very comfortable. Within a few minutes, he confidentially stated that the tooth was salvageable. He also did state that they were very busy that day with appointments, but would do everything possible to accommodate my mother and have her tooth restored the same day. We were politely asked to wait in the waiting area, while Assette and Nadia did their best to accommodate my mother for a same day appointment to perform the root canal, instead of having her come back another day. After just a few minutes, they told us we would have the procedure of the root canal done the same day!! The procedure was done relatively fast and really did not cause my mother any pain or discomfort. Assette who also assists with managing the office, gracefully explained the cost of the procedure. To my surprise, the cost was much lower than what we were expecting. The overall experience was a very positive one and to date, my mother is doing well from the procedure. I would highly recommend this place for any dental procedures, as they take good care of their patients. No one enjoys getting a root canal. I was referred to Dr. Shimizu to have 2 root canals done and this might sound crazy but this was the BEST experience I've ever had getting a root canal and in a strange and twisted way, I wish I could go back. First off, I have to admit, the office intimidated me a bit. But once I got into the chair, everyone was very friendly and wonderful. The front desk was very helpful in getting my insurance information and explaining what was covered and what wasn't. In my initial consultation, Dr. Nguyen saw the need for one root canal, but the other one was a consult and I wasn't fully bought into it. However, when I came for the second appointment to have the procedure done, I asked Dr. Shimizu to go over the 2nd root canal again and get a second consult. He gladly did it without hesitation and didn't mind that I was asking him again, even though the other doctor had already done the initial consult. The explanation he provided me regarding why he would come to the same conclusion and the evidence he used to support his conclusion, made me feel better about proceeding with the second root canal. I decided to get both done on the same day and it took about 4 hours. I actually didn't mind because it was a really pleasant experience and I would rather have them take time with the procedure instead of rushing from patient to patient. I never felt like Dr. Shimizu was in a rush or not focusing on the work. Dr. Shimizu is so good at his job that I hope he never retires! He was very precise and exact. He explained every step that he was doing and he provided me with answers to all my questions. The difference in the work is that they use microscopes and they don't hand file your roots, which makes a HUGE difference in the precision and level of discomfort that comes with a root canal! Dr. Shimizu also likes to tape his procedures and afterwards, he showed me what they did and verified his work with me, which is unheard of! The radiologist was also fantastic. She aided Dr. Shimizu in the whole procedure and I enjoyed her professionalism and she was also explained every step and despite being familiar with x-rays and prep procedures, it was nice to know that they cared enough to make sure patients know what was happening. I've been telling everyone that this was the best time I've ever had getting a root canal and I would recommend everyone to Dr. Shimizu! read more

Need a root canal? come to RootVision Endo. Everyone here is super personable. I didn't have anything to eat before coming here because it was only supposed to be a consultation. It turns out the tooth that was bothering needed a root canal. The girls in the front provided granola bars so I can have something in my stomach before the procedure. I was nervous at first and asked the dentist questions. He was patient and told me to "...ask questions now..." On the chair, the dental assistant explained everything that was going on and what she was going to put into my mouth and why. Before I knew it, the procedure was done. I was given the dentist cell phone number and the Regional Manager's cell number just in case of an emergency or high concern. I didn't have to use it. Now what dental office does that? That was yesterday. Today, I don't feel a lot of pain. Plus, RootVision Endo called me early this morning to follow-up. I highly recommend coming here for a root procedure. read more

STAY AWAY from this Endo office!! They will knowingly charge you even when they should not. -- Most of these Yelp reviews are from clients that receive a "discount" for leaving a 5-star review. For an accurate review, read the non-5-star. Here is my HORRIBLE Root Vision Endo rundown: 1st root canal: -- Everything went fine--as fine as a root canal can be.. -- Office says insurance covers the procedure. -- 2mo later, bill is resolved by insurance. 2nd root canal(recommended by the office): -- Saw THREE different doctors--apparently my previous doctor left? -- Office says insurance covers the procedure. -- 3mo later, office calls me to inform me that my insurance will not cover the cost of the procedure and to call my insurance company and complain. -- Call insurance company: they inform me that they shouldn't have even covered the first procedure, but covered it as a one time courtesy--which no one at Root Vision Endo informed me of. -- Insurance company tells me that they informed Root Vision Endo to NOT perform another procedure unless they inform me of the insurance not covering it--which obviously did not happen. -- Called Root Vision Endo, spoke with Jennifer, the office manager to discuss that they were in the wrong. (Side note: when calling back after discussing that Root Vision Endo was in the wrong, Jennifer was never reachable. She was always out of the office or at lunch or not available.) -- Jennifer says that my insurance company never said that. -- Called insurance company: they allowed me to listen to the RECORDED conversation explaining that they DID, in fact, inform Root Vision Endo of this information. -- Jennifer says I must pay or she will send me to Collections. ** Which is obviously NOT good business, seeing as how I was trying to figure out what was going on. -- I requested the Account Notes on my file regarding the conversations had about this procedure. Jennifer sends me the Account Notes OF MY FIRST ROOT CANAL. -- I requested the Account Notes from Jennifer of my SECOND root canal. All of a sudden, they cannot send them to me and require that I pay a lawyer to request them. -- JENNIFER TRIES TO BARGAIN WITH ME?? -- Tells me that if I can pay over the phone right then, for $200 less than what I owe, she will not send me to Collections. -- Sounds like a horrible business scare tactic. -- I request that Jennifer send this amount to me in writing. She says she can't do that -- imagine that. -- I call back the next day, Jennifer is not available. The front desk says they can take me payment, even thought I'm requesting to speak with Jennifer. I leave a note for Jennifer to call me back. Jennifer calls me back 2hrs later, after office hours, on her personal cell phone to request my payment. -- I request a payment plan: half now, half next month. JENNIFER INFORMS ME THAT SHE HAS ALREADY SENT MY ACCOUNT TO COLLECTIONS. Long story short, this office does not practice proper business. To top it all off, my tooth that I got a root canal on is STILL INFECTED. My dentists tells me that the root canal was not done properly, so I must now go to ANOTHER Endo office to have it fixed. Root Vision Endo & Jennifer, you knew that you were in the wrong and still charged me. Now you've sent my account to Collections. I hope you are happy. read more

My whole experience at this office was excellent from start to finish. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. They constantly kept me in the loop about the status of my visit and approximately how long it would take for me to be seen. The nurses were awesome, not to mention totally successful with calming my nerves for a procedure that never gets any positive feedback. Best of all, Dr. Shimizu was amazing! He explained everything simply yet thoroughly. No one is ever excited about getting a root canal, but Dr. Shimizu took away any doubts and worries I had. I see other complaints about how much time they spent waiting, but personally, I'll wait as long as I have to as long as I'm getting excellent care. I had to have a root canal done and this office is where I was referred by my regular dentist. I have very bad dental anxiety so I let the dental assistants know. Everyone in the office was very understanding and during the procedure, very reassuring to me, as they could see how nervous I was. I felt comfortable and confident that Dr. Sagong knew what he was doing. The procedure took less than an hour. I would definitely recommend them to others. read more

Had a root canal here- I am really a scaredy cat about all matters dental- RootVision Endo was very good, efficient- and I especially liked Dr. Nghlem and the dental assistant Gina- SHe did a great job of keeping me informed of what was happening, and making me calm throughout the whole process. FIVE stars for them both. Overall, it was a good experience- but ended up being a different price than anticipated- this was due to my general dentists office giving me an incorrect quote. Well as a new patient I can say customer service is by far extremely important I've never encountered a receptionist so indifferent to her patients and so uncorteous and argumentive thats exactly what I got from Nadia after waiting for 50 minutes in a waiting room watching how other patients would check in for later appointment we're been seeing prior to my scheduled appointment well after I clearly seen her putting the chart in front of mine I got up and addressed Nadia and all she can stayed is their appointment was before mine when I clearly heard the gentleman stated to her " I'm here for 4:00 clock appointment" mind you my appointment was 3:00pm now is 3:50pm and the 4:00 clock appointment is been called in. I'm sorry but I can understand delays and Emergencies as a Healthcare professional but cannot condoun employees treating patients indifferently that's not a professional that's bad business!! The office looks clean but taking a closer look will tell you more. I was referred here by my regular dentist for a root canal and I wish I would have looked into more options. They did their consultation and then said they could see me the same day for the root canal. Ended up being seen an hour after they told me to come back. They did not fully explain the charges, which is partially my fault and I should have read every single bit of the fine print. See my picture for the filthy bib they put on me. I almost asked for a new one but wanted a picture of this one. I will not be coming back here for any treatments and just warn you to be careful here. If you're going through insurance make sure you read through the charges because some of them they do not bill your insurance for which seems weird to me. Why can my you bill my insurance all of the charges and then I'll pay for whatever my insurance denies? read more

I don't write reviews often but when I do it's because I feel it's well deserved. I came across this office by a whim.. I was having excruciating pain and was told I needed a root canal re done on a broken crown I had which ultimately caused an infection. After multiple calls and dental visits I came here very last minute they were super Accommodating and took me in for an exam! Soon after (same day they were actually closed) he advised me to get a root canal done ASAP so I got the entire procedure done within the same visit. Thank you! Extremely efficient and not to mention reasonably priced most dental offices I visited were extremely expensive. Highly recommend!
