I said to the merciful angel who received my call that "I'm sorry you're meeting me at this point in my life, but my patience is at an end." She, Dr. Bandary, and his team were kind to find a time to schedule me in for later the same day. The dental assistant, with whom I exchanged book recommendations, got me a blanket and neck pillow as they're playing Jack Johnson at a perfect volume as one overlooks a leafy panorama. Dr. Bandary, around whom this remarkable practice orbits, has a gentle and considered demeanor. He listened to my long neurotic explanations. He gave me time to fully arrive at the decision to move forward with the root canal. I didn't even realize that I needed time to think through the decision. He did. The procedure itself - by the way, I was not on any narcotics - had me in a state of elation. He is expert at his chosen art form. It was pain-free, brief, and I laughed through it. Orchestral. I've had other root canals at other dentist offices a long time ago and they took over an hour to finish and it was painful. I would recommend my family and friends to see Dr. Safa if they need an Endodontist. I hope I don't need another root canal, but if I do, I'm happy to come back here. Is it a bit pricey? Yes, but in my humble opinion, you're paying for expertise and quality care. The office staff and assistants are also top notch and professional. Thank you Pasadena Endodontix!

I grind my teeth at night and thought my Invisalign retainers were enough to protect my teeth at night. When I came to see Dr. Odabashian, he and his team fit me in a special nightguard so that my upper and lower teeth don't touch. My tooth tenderness is gone, my jaw is much more at ease and now hopefully future teeth issues will be prevented! I do not have to get a retreatment, which I was afraid might be the case! While the first endodontist correctly did my root canal, both he and my dentist didn't get to the "root" (no pun intended) of the problem. Dr. Odabashian identified that my night guard set up wasn't doing me any good. I'm so grateful for Dr. O's evaluation of my situation. He is also extremely calm and nice to work with. After reviewing my x-rays, Dr. Obadashian determined that my abscess was caused from an infection that had spread, so he recommended that I receive a root canal. Hearing plenty of horror stories of how intensely painful a root canal procedure can be, I was surprised to find out that the procedure had minimal pain with Dr. Odabashian's care, experience, and equipment. My first impression of him was that his demeanor was very calm and confident. I also immediately picked up his wit and humor. These might be viewed as ancillary qualities, but as a patient it certainly made me feel more comfortable. After my first treatment session I felt I was in good hands. Dr. Odabashian was extremely thorough in explaining every step of the process and answering too many of my curious questions. His process was to not permanently fill my tooth after cleaning the root, but to temporarily fill it to wait and see how I healed before filling the gap permanently. This of course extends the treatment procedure and adds some more visits to his office, but I couldn't be happier knowing that he was not making any shortcuts to my treatment plan. Last, but not least, I have to praise his assistant and receptionist. Both have been extremely kind and communicative throughout my visits. You know you are in good practice when the staff are happy to be there! I couldn't be more satisfied with my referral to see Dr. Odabashian. If you need to see an Endodontist for a root canal, he is the dentist to go to!

I've been with my dentist for 17 years, 10+ of those years moved up to the Bay Area and making the 5-6hr commute back and forth. Well, life happens and during my last check with Most Awesome General Dentist; turns out I need a root canal and was recommended to Dr. John Pratte as a "Diplomate" dentist. What is that? I asked a robot and this is what I learned: Achieving diplomate status in dentistry, particularly for specialties like endodontics, is a prestigious accomplishment that represents the highest level of expertise in the field. Here's what it generally involves: 1. Advanced Education and Specialty Training: After earning a dental degree (e.g., DDS or DMD), a dentist must complete additional years of postgraduate training in their specialty, such as endodontics, periodontics, or orthodontics. This involves clinical, hands-on training and deep study of the specialty. 2. Board Certification: To become a diplomate, a dentist must pass rigorous board certification exams specific to their specialty. This typically includes: Written Exam: Testing the candidate's knowledge of all facets of their specialty. Clinical Exam or Case Presentations: Submitting complex case studies or undergoing a practical exam to demonstrate hands-on expertise and problem-solving abilities in their specialty. Oral Exam: Being questioned by a board of experts on clinical cases, treatment planning, and specialized knowledge to assess clinical judgment and expertise. 3. Experience and Case Portfolio: Many boards require candidates to complete and submit a portfolio of complex cases they've treated successfully, showcasing their proficiency and commitment to high standards of care. 4. Continuing Education and Recertification: Once they achieve diplomate status, many boards require ongoing continuing education and periodic recertification to ensure they remain up-to-date with advancements in their field. 5. Commitment to Excellence: Diplomates are often required to uphold strict ethical standards and demonstrate a commitment to advancing their specialty through research, teaching, or service within the professional community. In short, becoming a diplomate is a mark of dedication, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to providing the highest standard of patient care in their specialty. It signifies that the practitioner has gone well beyond the basic requirements of dental practice. _______________________ So I just want to say that I highly appreciate the expertly skilled precision of Dr. Pratte's deft and nimble hands. He has a very professional demeanor while also being quite warm and personable. (And those diplomate credentials tell you that you're getting the very best of the very best!!!)

The overall Yelp rating is based upon patient experience and not the quality of service…read more Production of Service: My reception and technician experiences were good. However, the experience with Dr. Ahmad Sadeghein DDS--was not. He exhibits a high level energy (in his speech and body movement) accompanied by a loud voice--so when discussing patient care "other patients" may hear. I could not tell if he uses an indoor voice when discussing sensitive information with his patients. He had a friendly disposition but not personable. He spoke over me, literally (while reclining in the chair), standing most of the time at a distance and not within any close relational proximity to his patients. When he wasn't standing, he was seated behind me "talking to the back of my head" and he would instruct me to look at x-rays on a monitor that was distant from us both; and I said while I was looking at the screen "I understand what you're asking I just don't know what you're talking about or where I should be looking" he said "oh" and then came around to talk to me face-to-face. I observed him blurting out comments like "that tooth needs to go" "tooth needs to be pulled out" "too much work" "I don't do that" all while making "sighs" under his breath which was communicating his thoughts and feelings before he actually used words to describe and explain his thoughts and feelings. All of this, made me uneasy and frustrated which increased my anxiety about dental care, treatment and insurance. Most ppl would agree "going to the dentist is a nerve-racking experience" Dr. Sadeghein appears anxious "about anything" and therefore, made me, his patient uncomfortable and confused and complexed about what I should do and how I should proceed. Anything extra--i.e., additional information, do I have any questions or concerns--none. Unless, I asked or required him to provide more by my inquisitive nature. As a professional, I realize not everyone, in the position, to offer services and take your money is qualified to provide good public relations. "Public relations" is a skill and most professionals and doctors do not possess the ability to demonstrate the skills of communication, customer service care and patient management. I asked the receptionist is the doctor like this with everyone, she said "yes". I was there to observe him first-hand as I could hear him speaking while waiting in the lobby of his office. I wish Dr. Ahmad good health and hope, that he is willing to improve his public relations with his patients. I advise him not to assume that everyone will enjoy his type of courtesy, demeanor or treatment and care. And to further advise, Dr. Ahmad to consider this: if we can customize treatment and payment plans for patients--we too, can customize patient relationships by conforming to the patient's wishes and expectations (by matching body languages and using social cues) because once doctors begin standardizing patient relationships, we ultimately, will begin to standardize treatment, care plans and options--leaving patients without any. Either way, "my experience" is my own. And I encourage anyone; to either, welcome (his kind of relationship) or reject it---by their own admission and terms of high expectations of relational conditions. Part II: Customer Satisfaction I appreciate that Dr, Ahmad Sadeghein, was able to accommodate me without an appointment, considering my dentist's office recommended him. Moreover, their offices are next door to one another and they appear to have a collaborative relationship with "referral services" for the other. I was pleased with the services and ultimately, with his consultation. Although, he agreed to perform dental work for me--I declined because I accepted his advisement. Nonetheless, had I had the desire to have dental work done--I would have opted for another professional. Patient Beware
