Upon walking in to the office, I was welcomed by a nice staff person who instructed me to fill out some paperwork. I was then taken to a room for the consultation. Dr. Yu advised to have a root canal based on his evaluation. I was then moved to another room for the actual procedure after having anesthesia injections into my mouth. After some prep work done by his very comforting staff, it was time for the games to begin! I appreciated how his staff guided me through the prep work and explained what they were doing. It honestly feels really weird to have your mouth wide open while having strange objects being placed inside. During the procedure, I could see they were passing instruments back/forth. There were weird sounds, noises and smells. I never felt uncomfortable as they always checked in to see if I was doing OK. Before I knew it, the procedure was over and Dr. Yu went over recovery expectations and the like. Overall, it was a very efficient and comfortable process. Hopefully I won't need to return anytime soon but it's nice to know that this office is available in the local area.

The whole experience was just really wonderful. Easy to book an appointment, friendly staff, and parking is just great. Dr. Yu is amazing and the reviews do him justice. He answered all my questions and I just felt so much peace of mind getting his professional opinion on a root canal. The procedure itself was painless and I can tell you I was nervous about the whole experience. They make you feel invited and welcomed at this office so if you need any root canal consultation please see Dr. John Yu.

I've been with my dentist for 17 years, 10+ of those years moved up to the Bay Area and making the 5-6hr commute back and forth. Well, life happens and during my last check with Most Awesome General Dentist; turns out I need a root canal and was recommended to Dr. John Pratte as a "Diplomate" dentist. What is that? I asked a robot and this is what I learned: Achieving diplomate status in dentistry, particularly for specialties like endodontics, is a prestigious accomplishment that represents the highest level of expertise in the field. Here's what it generally involves: 1. Advanced Education and Specialty Training: After earning a dental degree (e.g., DDS or DMD), a dentist must complete additional years of postgraduate training in their specialty, such as endodontics, periodontics, or orthodontics. This involves clinical, hands-on training and deep study of the specialty. 2. Board Certification: To become a diplomate, a dentist must pass rigorous board certification exams specific to their specialty. This typically includes: Written Exam: Testing the candidate's knowledge of all facets of their specialty. Clinical Exam or Case Presentations: Submitting complex case studies or undergoing a practical exam to demonstrate hands-on expertise and problem-solving abilities in their specialty. Oral Exam: Being questioned by a board of experts on clinical cases, treatment planning, and specialized knowledge to assess clinical judgment and expertise. 3. Experience and Case Portfolio: Many boards require candidates to complete and submit a portfolio of complex cases they've treated successfully, showcasing their proficiency and commitment to high standards of care. 4. Continuing Education and Recertification: Once they achieve diplomate status, many boards require ongoing continuing education and periodic recertification to ensure they remain up-to-date with advancements in their field. 5. Commitment to Excellence: Diplomates are often required to uphold strict ethical standards and demonstrate a commitment to advancing their specialty through research, teaching, or service within the professional community. In short, becoming a diplomate is a mark of dedication, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to providing the highest standard of patient care in their specialty. It signifies that the practitioner has gone well beyond the basic requirements of dental practice. _______________________ So I just want to say that I highly appreciate the expertly skilled precision of Dr. Pratte's deft and nimble hands. He has a very professional demeanor while also being quite warm and personable. (And those diplomate credentials tell you that you're getting the very best of the very best!!!)

Her expertise is unmatched, her bedside manner is best described as unbelievably patient-centered, understanding, and collaborative. She has made a big difference in undoing several years of poor dental health and prior botched root canals. Her pricing is fair for the product you are getting, and she has the most up-to-date state of the art facilities at her offices. I believe she prides herself on setting an industry standard and I know she attends and speaks at conferences to advise others in her field. I have watched her offices and patient base grow, and we all share the same comfort in knowing that we are treated with the utmost respect by her kind, energetic, enthusiastic, caring, and experienced staff that keep the offices running in an efficient and comfortable manner. I cannot recommend her enough. The staff are so quick about insurance and are informed about billing to ensure your claims are placed quickly and correctly. They've worked together for years and it seems like everyone there are truly happy to be working there. It is truly comforting to work somewhere that understands the intimate relationship between an endodontist and the patient - because her pain management is unmatched in what otherwise is a very painful procedure in my experience. She makes sure you are comfortable, prepared, aware of your treatment, and that you have a treatment plan with her that you have approved of and understand. Please give her a chance, you won't regret it and we are very lucky to have her! I go to the Glendale office, i've also attended the Santa Clarita office and have had great results.

I was willing to wait, I heard this office was great and the reviews seemed to agree. I had a late afternoon appointment. When I checked in the receptionist could not find my name in the schedule. I pulled up my call log to show that I did speak to someone in the office a month ago. Without skipping a beat, she worked me in. I filled out some forms and she looked up my dental insurance, which seemed easy peasy for her to do. Despite the initial disappointment of not being properly scheduled, I had a great experience with my X-rays and exam. The office vibe is relaxed and friendly. Although it was busy, Dr. Azarbal maintained a very pleasant disposition and I could hear him asking other patients if they were comfortable. He is very friendly, easy to talk to, and he's an attentive listener. He thoroughly explained what was going on with my teeth. Even though the office was shutting down for the day (remember they worked me in), he took his time to give me dental "mini-lessons" with enthusiasm. He and his staff were very courteous and attentive to my needs, and they always checked to be sure I was comfortable. We have a treatment plan and my next few appointments are booked.
