The procedure was smooth and much faster than I expected--done in under an hour--and Dr. Safa made sure I was comfortable the entire time. He explained everything clearly, which really helped ease my nerves. What really stood out was his attention to detail. He even caught an issue with an older root canal from years ago that I had no idea about, which could have turned into a bigger problem down the road. Overall, I'm very grateful for the care I received. If you're dealing with dental pain or need specialized treatment, I highly recommend Dr. Safa.

My dentist recommended going to get consultation at Pasadena Endodontix. I read some negative reviews on Yelp and Google but my experience with Dr. Safa was nothing but professionalism and expert care and treatment. I would give more stars if Yelp allowed it. I only felt a tiny bit of discomfort at the initial injection but after that, no pain since. I've had other root canals at other dentist offices a long time ago and they took over an hour to finish and it was painful. I would recommend my family and friends to see Dr. Safa if they need an Endodontist. I hope I don't need another root canal, but if I do, I'm happy to come back here. Is it a bit pricey? Yes, but in my humble opinion, you're paying for expertise and quality care. My tooth is pain free, my blister is gone, and I can't believe I tolerated the discomfort and occasional pain related to the condition of my tooth for as long as I did before Dr. Safa treated it. The office staff and assistants are also top notch and professional. Thank you Pasadena Endodontix!

I said to the merciful angel who received my call that "I'm sorry you're meeting me at this point in my life, but my patience is at an end." She, Dr. Bandary, and his team were kind to find a time to schedule me in for later the same day. The dental assistant, with whom I exchanged book recommendations, got me a blanket and neck pillow as they're playing Jack Johnson at a perfect volume as one overlooks a leafy panorama. Dr. Bandary, around whom this remarkable practice orbits, has a gentle and considered demeanor. He listened to my long neurotic explanations. He gave me time to fully arrive at the decision to move forward with the root canal. I didn't even realize that I needed time to think through the decision. He did. The procedure itself - by the way, I was not on any narcotics - had me in a state of elation. He is expert at his chosen art form. It was pain-free, brief, and I laughed through it. Orchestral. Go in part to see what's possible in life. 11/10

While I can't judge technique he seemed very careful and methodical, I have confidence in him that he cares about the outcomes. I've seen many dentists, many of them good and unfortunately a few bad ones too. Once you find a…read moregreat dentist though, you hang onto them. I've been with my dentist for 17 years, 10+ of those years moved up to the Bay Area and making the 5-6hr commute back and forth. Well, life happens and during my last check with Most Awesome General Dentist; turns out I need a root canal and was recommended to Dr. John Pratte as a "Diplomate" dentist. What is that? I asked a robot and this is what I learned: Achieving diplomate status in dentistry, particularly for specialties like endodontics, is a prestigious accomplishment that represents the highest level of expertise in the field. Here's what it generally involves: 1. Advanced Education and Specialty Training: After earning a dental degree (e.g., DDS or DMD), a dentist must complete additional years of postgraduate training in their specialty, such as endodontics, periodontics, or orthodontics. This involves clinical, hands-on training and deep study of the specialty. 2. Board Certification: To become a diplomate, a dentist must pass rigorous board certification exams specific to their specialty. This typically includes: Written Exam: Testing the candidate's knowledge of all facets of their specialty. Clinical Exam or Case Presentations: Submitting complex case studies or undergoing a practical exam to demonstrate hands-on expertise and problem-solving abilities in their specialty. Oral Exam: Being questioned by a board of experts on clinical cases, treatment planning, and specialized knowledge to assess clinical judgment and expertise. 3. Experience and Case Portfolio: Many boards require candidates to complete and submit a portfolio of complex cases they've treated successfully, showcasing their proficiency and commitment to high standards of care. 4. Continuing Education and Recertification: Once they achieve diplomate status, many boards require ongoing continuing education and periodic recertification to ensure they remain up-to-date with advancements in their field. 5. Commitment to Excellence: Diplomates are often required to uphold strict ethical standards and demonstrate a commitment to advancing their specialty through research, teaching, or service within the professional community. In short, becoming a diplomate is a mark of dedication, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to providing the highest standard of patient care in their specialty. It signifies that the practitioner has gone well beyond the basic requirements of dental practice. _______________________ So I just want to say that I highly appreciate the expertly skilled precision of Dr. Pratte's deft and nimble hands. He has a very professional demeanor while also being quite warm and personable. (And those diplomate credentials tell you that you're getting the very best of the very best!!!)

My root canal went smooth and painless. Thank goodness! Dr. Oo did a perfect job. Yes, the pain killer injections in the beginning was a bit painful, but very minimal. The most painful of the three injections was probably my cheeks area. But that was it. I waited approximately twenty minutes after the shots. I was admiring the mountain views from the room's window, I walked around outside the office (around the medical building) to ease myself before the procedure, and yes my heartbeat was still missing a beat. Anyhow, the root canal lasted about an hour and forty minutes. Dr. Oo did an awesome job. She was very hygienic, made sure my mouth was covered with a medical paper towel, except for a hole to work with, and she and her assistant was also properly geared in scrubs and masks to prevent bacterial infections. Dr. Oo us very professional. Kept checking on me to make sure I was fine. She was telling me about the different processes while working in my mouth for the most part to keep me informed. I basically did not feel any pain during the procedure. And the outcome along with the recovery period was to the point. I was also prescribed antibiotics just in case.
