This place is amazing! This was my 2nd root canal my first with Dr. D. First off he actually took the time to listen my issues and address my concerns getting down to the root of the problem no pun intended When it was time to do the procedure for the root canal I was concerned about pain and how long it would take it. He told me prior to the procedure beginning he throughly told me his plan of procedures before he began. When process began it was painless and Dr. d made me feel at ease. The process took a couple hours but it felt like 30 mins. Afterwards a little bit of numbness and soar but not in any pain (He also mentioned I would feel this after the procedure). Highly recommend worth the wait and the traffic time to get there. read more

I think you can tell a lot about a business and Dr. by the receptionists. I've been to Dr. David's a few times. Each time, the front desk is rude, impersonal, and always different people (revolving door maybe). Dr. David is hit or miss. Sometimes he's warm and open to discussing questions. Other times he's cocky and seems very annoyed answering questions. When I asked questions about his findings, findings that weren't obvious, he was short in his answers and kept getting up to leave until I told him I had more questions. He may be good at what he does, but if a dentist has no bedside manners, I will spend the time finding someone else, which is what I did in this case. I won't be returning. read more

Outstanding Root Canal Specialist. I needed a root canal treatment, Doctor David made the entire experience very positive and stress-free. From the consultation to the follow-up, the care was exceptional. The doctor is an expert. It was much quicker and painless with no discomfort afterward. I can't say enough good things about Dr. David. My dentist referred me to him to get two root canals due to resorption. I had no clue what that was, but Dr. David examined me and explained in very clear detail what my condition was. I had no trouble getting an appointment, and we scheduled the root canals the following week. The procedure was done very professionally, and I always felt that Dr. David explained things well and truly had my best interests in mind. In fact, when I felt discomfort a couple of weeks after the root canals, he had me visit his office right away without any additional charge. He determined that I should do another course of antibiotics to reduce the swelling, and that solved my issue. While I can't say getting root canals is something to look forward to, having a competent and caring endodontist like Dr. David makes the procedure far less unpleasant. I could not possibly find sufficient words to express how overwhelmingly happy I was by the care and treatment rendered by Dr. David and his staff (Eve, Susan, Kay). A totally painless root canal? I never thought there could be such a thing. Dr. David proved me wrong. I experienced not an ounce of pain, not a second of discomfort. Dr. David's manner, kindness, and professionalism were exemplary. He never seemed to stop expressing his concern for my comfort, while never giving me reason to feel uncomfortable at all. Updating my review post root canal. I have to say the whole process was relatively painless. It's been a while since I had a root canal, but this felt pretty quick - took maybe an hour and a half. Dr. David said he usually does it in 45 minutes but this was an old root canal, so it took a little longer. I came in, got my temperture taken, given a rinse and was taken into the room. Dr. David and Molly worked on my tooth. He put in a numbing gel on both sides of the tooth. Once it was numb, gave me novacaine and waited until it took affect to start. As I mentioned, relatively painless. He was very gentle and patient. Was done in about 1.5 hours and felt good. Prescribed me some antibiotics and pain medicine. Great dentist office with super nice staff. Highly recommended. read more

Dr. David is exceptional, he has the greatest skill, I was terrified of a root canal and I swear I could've taken a nap when he did it. It was smooth, painless, took like 30 mins to do. I was seeing multiple dentist trying to find a solution to my throbbing tooth pain and avoid a root canal, finally one dentist said, look let's save all this guessing and go to Dr. David and he'll take 3D imaging and we'll know why. I was hesitant thinking they all just do root canals to make money but my dentist said, I like Dr. David because he doesn't recommend any unnecessary procedures like other endos, that sold me. When I made an appt., Dr. David looked at my x rays and found the problem and said it's better to do a root canal on one but the other two can wait and be saved with oral care. That confirmed he wasn't just looking for needless surgery. In addition he took so much time explaining everything to me before and after, he was never in a rush and didn't just make you feel like a number. His skill was also just above and beyond, his Harvard training and depth of knowledge made you feel very secure. Dr. David. is phenomenal. From beginning to end, he and his staff explained everything carefully and took great care of me. I have anxiety and after I told him that, he was very clear that he would do everything possible to reduce the anxiety and let me know that I could stop things at any time and we could take things as slow as I needed to. I was referred to Dr. Abdelmalak by the dentist because I needed a root canal. He explained everything in detail before doing the procedure. Work was done very quickly and efficiently and even though it's an uncomfortable procedure, Dr. Abdelmalak made the process as easy as possible. His assistant was also very good and together they quickly finished the job. I liked how he would tell me when he took each root out so I knew approximately when he would be finished. His magic hands finished the procedure in an hour and a half, and I was good to go. Had I followed this doctor's advice, I would have had a tooth extracted needlessly. I understand there is grey area and varying interpretations when it comes to the body. Dr. Abdelmalak, though, spent about five minutes with me, and seemed just a little over confident when I asked him questions. I therefore got a second opinion, and here I am a year later with that tooth intact. I just yesterday visited the second endodontist who had performed the procedure to save the tooth, and the bone has grown back and I'm all good. Anyone who is familiar with the teeth problems of the elderly knows how serious it really is to pull out a tooth. If I could, I would give him 10 stars! I've been to so many offices before, but he's the best. He took the time to explain what was wrong with my tooth, he showed me all the pics and answered all my questions. When I got the numbing injection at precious doctor's offices it used to hurt and make me very nervous. But when Dr. Abdelmalak gave me the injection there was no pain. I had an emergency appointment that day and he was able to see me on a busy day. No one "wants" to get a root canal but Dr. David AND his office make it so that you really don't mind! His work is highly skilled and compassionate and so his is excellent staff. True warmth and support from everyone - it's clear that this is a team that's been as thoughtfully put together as Dr. David's talent as a dentist doctor. I felt NO pain. AMAZING Dentist and wonderful staff!!! I don't think this is enough! I went to Dr.David for a consultation for my husband's tooth ! First I am a recent dental school graduate and I know exactly how a good dentist should be ! And this doctor was above my expectations! He took his time explaining the problems giving us treatment options ! And the most important he didn't skip and part of examination he was exactly by the book he did all diagnostic test to come up with proper diagnosis for my husband's situation! I appreciate his knowledge and i will not only come to his office, but I will also refer all patients to him in the future for further root canal treatments ! Irene was with us all the time she was very friendly and down to earth ! The whole staff were very professional couldn't catch all the names ! Also the doctor has a CT scan machine so we don't have to go somewhere else for more diagnostic tools ! And on top of that they don't charge for it if it is part of the consultation!!! I thought it was going to be expensive.... not only did he not charge me which he could have (it was a very reasonable quote), but he looked at other possible issues in my mouth (ct X-ray) and no charge. While having a root canal is not fun Dr. David and his assistants made the procedure as easy on me as possible. I had an unusual problem during the procedure which was not related to the procedure itself. I had severe back pain when I laid back in the chair. On my first visit the back pain became so bad that Dr David halted the root canal 1/2 way through and told me that when I got over the back pain he would be happy to complete the root canal. Yesterday I went back because my back seemed to be fine. But, as soon as I laid back in the chair the pain returned. Although it was a lot more work for both Dr David and his assistant he did the root canal while I sat up in the chair to minimize my back pain. Great work!!! Although I hope that I never need another root canal if I do I am definitely coming back here. read more

Polite and professional front desk staff, dental assistant greets your and takes you back to office, where she has you rinse with a disinfecting solution. Dr comes in and was helpful with explaining what to expect with the root canal procedure. He's very clear about wanting to make the procedure pain free and notes that one should only feel pressure, not pain. Tells you to raise hand if it's painful so he can give you more numbing agent. I appreciate that, because it's always good to know that a doctor will be listening and will stop if you are uncomfortable. Procedure was done quickly and for me was pain free. I was referred to Dr. David by my general dentist for the re-treatment of a root canal. Let me just say he is very nice and pleasant until he isn't when a problem arises.... After my initial consultation with Dr. David it was determined that yes in fact I did need a re-treatment of a root canal on one of my incisors so I made an appointment for the procedure. He re-treated the root canal and after about 2 1/2 hours I was on my way relieved to have the treatment over, he sent me off with 5 days of antibiotics which I took like clockwork and was told that I needed to replace the temporary filling in my crown within 4 weeks and I was able to keep that crown. The root canal re-treatment I had was mid November 2021. After a discussion with my general dentist it was determined I could wait until my insurance renewed in January 2022 to replace the temporary filling so I made an appointment for January 3rd to do so. Cut to about 4 1/2 weeks after I had the re-treatment of the root canal by Dr. David and my tooth just didn't feel right, I still felt an abscess above the root of the incisor so I went back to Dr. David for him to check it out. When I got to his office neither him nor his assistant took a new x-ray of the tooth to see for further and/or not cleared infection. He took a brief look in my mouth and when I tried to show him where the abscess still was above my tooth (an abscess he saw on my initial visit) he rudely told me to "move my hand". Dr. David then proceeded to tell me that since I had not "finished the treatment" by getting a new crown (even though that is not what he told me I was to do after my root canal therapy) that I had not done my part. He even went so far as to tell me that he should not have tried to save my crown and left me without a tooth there which would have forced me back to my general dentist sooner for my "after treatment". I asked him why would I replace a crown and/or the temporary filling if the infection had not cleared yet that seemed counter productive to me. He was VERY dismissive and basically told me that was his suggestion and I left with a very uneasy feeling. Luckily I had the presence of mind to get a second opinion from another Endodontist who confirmed (with a new x-ray) that I did in fact have a lingering infection at the tip of my root (where the abscess still was) and I should have further treatment to clear the infection. I called Dr. David's office to tell him and when he called me back he was rude again reiterated what he said about me not getting a new crown and rudely asked who "this other dentist was". He told me that likely the "abscess" I was feeling was inflammation from not having my crown replaced and perhaps my bite being off. After I listened to him talk down to me he did offer to let me come in to his office for a new x-ray so he could take a look at the tooth and I declined because at this point I did not feel comfortable in Dr. David's care. I am writing this review 6 months after my initial re-treatment from Dr. David because I wanted to give it enough time and see what panned out. I have since had an apicoectomy on the tooth as the infection did not clear and needed further treatment so Dr. David was WRONG and there was more infection in the tooth. Had I followed his instruction and not listened to my gut I would have paid money for a new crown which possibly could have been damaged in the second procedure my tooth required to clear the infection. Long story short if you are a patient of Dr. David's and you have ANY gut feeling that perhaps there is something wrong GO AND GET A SECOND OPINION. Do not let him dismiss you and your health concerns! read more

I just had a root canal performed by David Abdelmalak yesterday and it was a GREAT experience (I mean...as great as a root canal experience can be lol). He is kind and patient and explained what he was doing, checking in with me constantly. I have a huge fear of needles and he really took his time getting me through that. Everyone in Dr. David's office is so helpful and they make sure that you are taken care of. Dr. David performed my root canal in two appointments that took a short time. During the procedure he checked with me into make sure I was comfortable. My fractured tooth is ready for a crown and the tooth pain I had prior to my root canal is gone. I was able to schedule an appointment in a timely manner and no waiting when I got there. They call the next day to follow up.
