Took a little while - WORTH THE WAIT! Cons: I checked in a few minutes early for my 2 PM. Waiting room was completely full - every seat filled. Was waiting about 45 minutes before I was taken back by a tech. Pros: Everyone I interacted with was super nice, apologetic about the delays, and very kind and professional. Dr. John Lee was EXCELLENT - when he got to me, he was patient, explained everything VERY thoroughly so I could understand what the issue is, what the potential treatment options are, and how I could/should proceed. He was understanding, courteous, and even took an extra step to ensure that I could leave with a course of treatment planned today instead of waiting for another round of x-rays to be sent from my regular dentist. I cannot recommend Dr. Cho and the team at Root Endo Vision enough. Before my appointment, I was honestly terrified. I had a really really bad experience. I'm on Medi-Cal. I go in there to look at a couple teeth first he tells me the CT SCAN isn't covered by your insurance. That'll be $200 then he gets a CT SCAN then he says he wants to do a laser on my too it's a root canal too because he's not comfortable doing the root canal without doing laser, which is another 197 then I found out later the insurance covers it after he's telling me I have to pay 197. There might be a doctor in this group ANNIE that might be good but Dr. LEE stay far away from him JOHN LEE the worst possible doctor you can go to. He's trying to get money out of you because he's afraid to do a root canal on you if you don't put laser on and then he's trying to to bill you because he says the insurance doesn't cover it and that wasn't true. The insurance does cover a laser. They just want extra details from the doctor before they pay you so this place route vision indoor they're trying to get as much money as I can at you stay far away from this place if I can give him a zero I would. read more

Very disappointed future patients beware. Blatant misdiagnoses with my rear molar that should have been extracted. The tooth was a hollow shell with decay, a root canal was pointless. A complete failure to be honest of the condition of the molar before capping the tooth with a crown. In a year the entire enamel shell fell apart with intense pain and suffering. Although I questioned the dentist about the condition, he still claimed that the molar was restorable which was obviously not true with X-rays, CT scan and inter oral images showing massive decay and infection. The dentist was more interested in making a bill than being honest about the true condition of my teeth. read more

I want to start off by saying I have a deep disdain for dental work due to lots of past bad experiences with dentists, and came here expecting a similar pattern. The techs here were very kind and Dr. Lee, who performed my root canal, was excellent too! Everyone took time to answer my questions, nothing felt rushed and I felt listened to. These people didn't really listen. I went to them about a sensitive tooth that after years was now a problem. I'm unemployed and was referred to them by my insurance. They kept trying to get me to pay for a supposed CT/3D scan,but never told me what they were possibly looking for or if they were wanting to be more specific about possible course of action no matter how much I asked. The Dr just kept saying "It would help" though she never said how when I asked. The front staff kept attempting to get me to pay $150 for this scan. They even tried to get me to agree by saying "Weeeeell we're not supposed to do this,but I can make it $75" as if me saying I'm unemployed and I need one heck of a good explanation for anything that's going to hit my bank account like that before I agree to anything. She just kept trying to phrase it like she was doing me a favor but not listening. The Dr even tried to get me to agree by telling about root resorption like it was a very common thing when I found out it's only a 1-2% possibility and is more of a genetics connected issue and I don't have that history. The Dr then tested my teeth with cold spray on a cotton swab and touched a few teeth to see my reaction, though most of the ones she touched had nothing to do with my problem area. Afterwards she put on the guilt trip saying she'd submit for a referral for a root canal, buuuuuuut it'd be super difficult to be approved without the scan and STILL continued to avoid answering my questions asking if it was absolutely necessary for a root canal and if there's any other way to know if I had a need for 1 after a decade of discomfort that only now became a problem, or if it could be another possibility that didnt call for it. She just kept trying to get me to pay for the scan. read more

Such a bad experience. They quoted me $150 for consultation. Then when I arrived they said it would be an extra $295. The worst thing was that the area by all the equipment was filthy. This is a doctors office dealing with infections. They were putting things in my mouth from dirty equipment. Also what is with all the loud music? My first and hope last root canal and I'm glad this is where I was referred too. AMAZING STAFF, they help you feel so informed and comfortable. I am giving 4 stars because of the $250 3D CT scans I personally feel I was forced to get. Upon checking in they inform you of possibly needing these CT scans but would inform you before taking them. I personally didn't think I would need them since I was experiencing little to no pain. Took regular x-rays, then a moment letter the assistant said the doctor requested the scans. The doctor viewed the scans for a second and stated I needed a root canal, obviously. I asked a couple of friends that have gotten root canals elsewhere about these CT scans and they had no idea what they were. If you are told you need these CT scans I would recommend trying to get out of them. read more

Excellent office all around! I was referred here by my general dentist for a root canal and I'm so thankful I was. Making an appointment with the office was a breeze, I was seen immediately when I arrived at my appointment time, and all the staff are kind and took time to answer my questions. I was treated by Dr. John Lee and he is by far the best dentist I've had. His bedside manner is fantastic, he takes time to explain all treatments prior and talks through the procedure step by step as it's happening which is very calming. I was worried about the numbing needle, but his technique was quick and I experienced surprisingly little discomfort, then I was numb so the rest of the procedure was painless. I hope I won't need another root canal moving forward, but I know I'll be in good hands if I do! Parking was easy too, plenty of spots available in the surrounding neighborhood. You WILL be recommended to get a $200 CT scan... The front desk disclaims to EVERYONE that IF the doctor recommends a CT scan, it will be $200. A bit of endodontic foreshadowing, so to speak. Well, spoiler alert! The doctor, FOR SURE, will recommend this imaging procedure. Because this is probably the main income driver for this office. I went to see a specialist friend of my parents before coming to this office. And he clearly saw the problem from just the x-rays, but come to this office (which is supposed to specialize in tooth roots) and no one knows for sure what's happening...unless you get that super-cool $200 CT scan. But my insurance dentist needed the report from THIS office to move forward, so fine. And guess what, after $200, all they did was repeat what the other dentist already said. And all the other guy had to do was look at $25's worth of x-rays and just talked to me about my symptoms. Gone are the days when specialists use their experience, skills, and knowledge to diagnose your problem from x-rays and symptom description. Nowadays without a $200 CT scan, it seems no one knows for sure what to do! What a surprise! And COOL, they give you the CT scan file so you can take it to any dentist for review...except the file is a proprietary format that no one else will be able to open and view unless they own the expensive software suite. They'll tell you the CT scan will allow them to diagnose the problem more accurately, but truth is they just don't possess/haven't developed the skills to diagnose accurately without the scan. Plus, if they feel like your problem isn't going to be resolved in their office (i.e. you need a procedure they don't specialize in) they'll act even more unsure and push even harder for CT scan. Might as well get that $200, since they'll probably never see you again, right? read more

Some of you have asked for an update. Took a year to get 90% feeling back in my face. Two more years for that extra 10%. I'm ok now. I can feel my face and smile like a normal person. I cried a lot that first year and would not take any pictures. Here's what I learned. There's a block nerve at the bottom of your jaw in the very back for left and right sides. When you go in to get a root canal, they numb the area by putting the needle as close as they can to the nerve. Unfortunately, he hit the nerve and this is common. For root canals now, I only see Dr. Prat in La Cananda. He's extremely good, very expensive but worth it. There are also two types of novocaine they can give you. Both articaine and lidocaine are legitimate options. Personally, I will forever avoid articaine, because it "last" longer. read more

This place is a rip off. They lure in for a simple root canal but then they slap on extra charges -- evaulation, 3D imaging, etc. My portion of the root canal goes from $436.00 to almost $1,000.00. They were able to get me in very quick for an appointment, and Dr. Annie took extra time to make sure that the tooth was fully numb, pausing during the procedures as needed to re-numb. I made this account just to write this review. I didn't expect to have a good time getting a root canal, but nurses let patients ignore COVID guidelines, and left me waiting for hourse (even though I made an appointment, and showed up early to fill out paperwork), and made fun of me. I am sure the doctors involved are very good at what they do. However, I was treated poorly by staff, and waited almost 2 hours after my scheduled appointment to actually get anything done. When I first walked in, there were 3 people in the small waiting area. Due to COVID, I expected this place, like most other dental offices, to have no one else there. However every chair in back seemed filled, with more waiting. Not only that, but one of men in the waiting room had his mask down to his chin. How did they allow that? It made me uncomfortable, so I waited outside. After a quick round of X rays, I waited 30 minutes to see the doctor. He came in said "You're getting a root canal on 'x' tooth." and left. I really waited 30 min for that.... Then I waited almost an hour and a half to even get my procedure done. I found this incredibly rude, as I had made an appointment beforehand. I kind of assumed I would be seen quicker than that. So after almost 2 hours of waiting, I finally had the root canal. Procedure went fine. However the nurse made fun of me for asking when I could eat and drink again. I am not thin, and found her to be kind of fatphobic about it. Asking when I can eat and drink after a dental procedure is an extremely common question. However she scoffed, laughed, and sassed me for asking. Overall, all the nurses were curt, bored, and no one was very friendly. I sat for hours, having to take off work. And at the end, I felt the nurse was making fun of me. Overall, I would not go back. I am so upset by how I was treated. I expected them to follow COVID guidelines, be nice, and not shame me for asking a simple question. I was recommended to come here by my dentist, but will have to let him know about how they treated me. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 9:00am. I arrive to my appointment on time, with a tooth ache, and patiently waited in the lobby for over 50 minutes. Three patients who had walked in after me, were assisted prior to me. At 9:51am, I approached the secretary and inquired how much longer I would need to wait in the lobby. The minute I raised my concern, she escorted me to a room. The office manager, Mari M., approached me and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience to deescalate the situation, she raised her voice and informed me that they are short staffed, and this is part of the waiting process. I informed her that instead of making their patient wait close to an hour, as a common courtesy, they could have informed me they were short staffed, provided me with an update on when I would have been seen, and provided me with the option to return at a different time. Mari decided to raise her voice even louder, talk over me, and give me an ultimatum; she questioned if I was going to stay or leave. I responded by saying since I've already waited an hour, I would like to resolve this matter. When I questioned how long the entire process was going to take, she said the root canal process is going to take close to 2 and half hours. I questioned her once more regarding the entire duration of this process, and how many hours I would be spending in the office today to play my day accordingly. Instead, of providing me with an estimated time, she handed my Identification Card back to me, informed me she would shred the documentation I had completed, and asked me to leave. She started that she could not tolerate my entitlement. Minutes after I left the office, the Dentist who had made the referral, called and apologized on their behalf for making me wait for an hour, and provided me with a referral to a different Endodontist. Not only did Mari not shred my information, she contacted my Dentist and complain, hoping she would cause problems for me. I am a working professional and will not condone this type of unprofessional behavior. How the office is being managed is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. I am beyond disappointed at how this situation was handled. My aunt had went in and gotten a root canal done on one of his molars and I went with him. They informed her and I every step of the way and were very cooperative when we informed them that she has a gag reflex. Shushana was very patient with her and took her X-rays and was very friendly. The office was very organized and clean. The bathroom was also very clean. Janet helped answer any questions we had at the front. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone that needs a root canal.
